What challenge were you trying to address with Rock Paper Creative?

We wanted to create a promotional video for our company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rock Paper Creative provided us with video production services. They helped us produce a video to promote our company from scratch. They handled the entire production process, including the script, storyboard, and shooting. They also worked on the audio, captured photos, and used their own equipment to create the video. The video was expected to be two minutes long.

We worked with two people from their company, including Todd (Co-Founder).

We spent less than $5,000 on the project.

We worked together on this project from June–September 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our team really liked the video that Rock Paper Creative produced for us.

How did Rock Paper Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They met all deadlines and stayed within budget. For communication, we used email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rock Paper Creative was really great to work with, and they incorporated any changes we requested quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve on?

There was a color disconnect on one of the background shots. We could’ve avoided this if we had communicated a bit more about that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just let Todd and his team do what they do best. You don’t really have to do much because they’re really good at what they do and want to create the best video possible for their clients.

We roast coffee, and I am one of the owners and roasters.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rock Paper Creative, and what were your goals?

We hired Rock Paper Creative to help us create some video and photo content that went with our company aesthetics: quirky, outer space weirdness.

How did you select this vendor?

They presented some great options to show our brand from a fun perspective, while showcasing our coffee.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

They wrote an amazing script for a parody video, that included roles for both myself and my business partner. In addition to this, they took the extra time to take other-worldly photos of our products out in the desert, for more promotional content.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had three members work with us on this project. They all held various roles including, directing, editing, filming, writing and photography.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had a great amount of content interaction on social media because of what Rock Paper Creative did for us. We had more followers on social media, and our sales increased as we had more views and visitors to our page.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They managed this project very professionally, as they were very transparent with their vision and what they wanted to create, they were consistently open to feedback that we had. They had a timeline that they stuck to, even delivered some content items ahead of schedule, that allowed us preview some sneak peeks on social media.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their approach was abstract and their ideas came from all different directions, which was extremely fun to be a part of.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing I can think of.

I’m the founder of SurfDurt. We manufacture sunscreen that doesn’t harm the coral reef, making our product safer than 90% of others in the market.

We hired them as marketing consultants.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rock Paper Creative has helped with everything from content creation to email marketing to advertising. They’ve helped us switch over to Klaviyo and do more robust email marketing. The team has written marketing emails for us and provided consultations on email marketing so we can take it on ourselves.

Additionally, they’ve done several creative projects for us for our social media, including video production, animation, and photography. In terms of the creative process, we don’t give them much direction; they take the reins. So far, they’ve produced three videos for us. 

What is the team composition?

I work with three teammates from Rock Paper Creative, including Todd (Co-Founder). 

How did you come to work with Rock Paper Creative?

We had been each other’s fans for a long time, and one of Rock Paper Creative’s teammates and I are friends from years ago. Therefore, we’ve been supporting each other’s projects over the years. Although we had wanted to work with them for a long time, we didn’t have the funding capacity, so we were excited when we finally had the opportunity to work with Rock Paper Creative. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $3,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in Q1 2022. Although we’re not actively working on projects at the moment, our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I'm very particular about the aesthetics of my creative content and rarely feel comfortable enough to hire a creative and give them full rein. However, Rock Paper Creative has such a playful tone and attention to detail that I've given them the freedom to make anything they want, and I'm very satisfied with the work we've received. I've never seen them produce anything that wasn't beautiful and high-quality. 

How did Rock Paper Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great with deadlines. We communicate through email and in-person meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rock Paper Creative's content creation goes above and beyond. Although we could get a strategy from many sources, it's hard to find really unique creative content that stands out on the internet. Rock Paper Creative has very consistently delivered creative content that leads to conversions. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no complaints about them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let Rock Paper Creative do what they're best at. They have a unique tone and playfulness to their creative content, and they're best utilized by clients looking for that style.

I am the Director of Engagement for a large Regenerative Organic nonprofit learning farm.

Rock Paper Creative supported various digital marketing functions, from video production and stills to managing all of our email marketing and various print materials.

We were fortunate enough to be referred to them through a mutual contact

Our work engagement with tremendously in-depth. We had multiple parallel projects with various moving parts to each. The team was engaged in weekly calls with specific project deliverables.

We worked with Nick on email marketing and video and Todd on project management, copy, video, and stills.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

For over a year, Rock Paper Creative has sent out our weekly email digests to over 20,000 recipients (with full segmentation services). They've also managed our social channels with over 50,000 followers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They operated as a near-fully integrated unit within our organization.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are not only experts in their craft, but also highly enthusiastic and professional

None
