Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the owner of an IT consulting company. As a side project I developed a web app that allows cyclists to calculate their cycle mileage expenses.It is now semi-retired due to cost savings. I may start it up again in the future.

For what projects/services did your company hire Revatics, and what were your goals?

To re-build the website from scratch. The goals were to launch a fully working product that integrated with Strava.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We initially did a search on UpWork and following an initial test package I was happy to proceed. Cost was a big deciding factor and Revatics provided good value for money.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We had a good uptake in users following the launch, with a steady flow of new sigh-ups each month. There were maybe less than 5 bugs found once in production and all the features were delivered to a high level of satisfaction.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We used Skype for both text messaging and voice calls. They were always responsive and kept me up to date with progress and any issues or questions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They understood the problems and the objective I was aiming for. I liked the designs they shared and the quality of build that they provided was impressive. The bugs and rework was minimal.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Like most external contracting companies, you need to be very specific on the requirements and the outcomes to prevent any additional work and costs. Key is to know exactly what you need and to what specification.

I’m the owner and CEO of a digital promotion platform. We do digital coupons, promotions, and referrals. We’re located in North Dallas, Texas.

What challenge were you trying to address with Revatics?

We needed help with mobile app development.

SOLUTION

What is the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we explained to Revatics how the web version of the program worked and provided some documents for the database. We wanted to deliver the same goods in a mobile app environment for consumers and business owners.

The major development was the mobile application. Revatics built it for iOS and Android using PHP for development. The app offered coupons and rewards, and users could refer new customers to the same business to get cash to use in-store to keep everybody honest and transparent.

What is the team composition?

They had four people working with us: two mobile app developers, a project manager, and the liaison we worked with.

How did you come to work with Revatics?

A friend referred them to me.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid about $40,000 for their services.

What is the status of the engagement?

We began the partnership in October 2019 and worked together until March 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Unfortunately, we haven’t marketed the app out there. However, the people we tested it with liked it. We didn’t get much traffic, but we saw value in what we got.

How did Revatics perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was excellent. The project took a bit longer than expected, but we were happy with them overall. Revatics was open with communication, and we could reach them 24/7.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We liked how they took ownership of the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve been a little bit more forthcoming at the beginning.

Any advice for potential customers?

Having a clear design document helps with the start of the relationship.
