Resolute Software was hired by a SaaS company to design and implement web-based screens to modernize their site's UI/UX. They're also tasked with developing a grid control and testing and deploying the site.
Internal stakeholders commend the modern look and feel of the new screen designs. A dynamic and agile team, Resolute Software strictly adheres to the scope and utilizes development best practices and technologies to elevate the client's platform. They remain flexible, professional, and supportive.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
We are a cloud-based software provider for financial service companies. Our clients are users of financial data and analytics.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Resolute Software, and what were your goals?
We set out to modernize our current UX/UI and in the process, to upgrade our technology stack to use some of the latest frameworks suitable for front-end development. We defined a project duration of three months which meant that our only option was to seek outside help due to the small size of the internal development team.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We interviewed several companies located in various parts of the world: two US/Western European-based, and 3 Eastern European-based companies. While the Eastern European companies clearly had a competitive advantage from a cost perspective over their Western counterparts, the decisive factor was the competency and the professionalism we found in the final candidates.
Specifically, the Resolute team stood out as one that clearly showed experience in dealing with customers based in the US or in Western Europe, and additionally, deep knowledge in the areas that were of interest to us. In my opinion, they have correctly identified the need many companies out there have to refresh their 10+ year-old systems and have positioned themselves well to take advantage of that trend. This clearly resonated with our mission.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We defined the scope of the project to be the design and implementation of several web-based screens that covered the module of the system we wanted to modernize. We created a statement of work (SoW) that organized the project in three phases: UI/UX design, web development and testing/deployment.
In terms of technology stack, coming from WebForms Asp.net world, we were not quite sure which modern front-end framework to go with next (with options being React, Angular and Vue.js) so we relied on input from Resolute to make that decision.
Once we discussed the specificities of the business domain, we all agreed on a path forward. In addition, we wanted to use a third-party suite of web components for rapid development, and Resolute respected our wish and adopted the specific suite of components we suggested.
Importantly, if one or more of these components fell short of the functionality we needed, Resolute was able to offer a work-around or suggest an alternative path for getting the functionality to work rather to convince us to remove that functionality.
Key deliverables included the design of the screens, the development of a grid control that can handle significant amount of data (30K+ records) with the ability to quickly drill-down into the dataset, sort, order and customize its look.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We've worked with a total of four people: two design experts, one senior developer and one styling specialist.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The project is still ongoing but our internal stakeholders and our investors have all agreed that the new design of the screens has achieved the stated goal to give our current UI a modern look and feel.
We are also confident that our users will not experience degradation in the user functionality since it has been fully re-built; in fact, in many cases we will deliver to them functionality that they have been asking for for a long time.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We organized weekly sync meetings where we would assess progress and discuss any impediments. In addition, we also set up a common Teams channel so any issues can be communicated and addressed daily.
Designers and developers were also available individually to discuss ideas. From the project management side, we set up a repository in Azure DevOps that worked great for both teams. We were able to integrate and run the application seamlessly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
When we looked for a partner to help us achieve our project, Resolute software clearly stood out as the one well-equiped to respond to the task. Some vendors are narrowly specialized, others lack expertise in certain areas (e.g. UI/UX), while Resolute was able to demonstrate both the breadth and depth that we were looking to get.
They've coupled their expertise with a professional approach and openness to our suggestions and comments. So far they have struck the right balance between offering flexibility but also guidance in the best practices/technologies/components suitable for the task at hand.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not really, they've hit the right notes from the start. Challenges would inevitably come as they scale their business so hopefully they can maintain their quality then as well.

Resolute Software is developing a new frontend for a manufacturing company’s legacy system using the Angular programming framework. They also collaborate with the firm’s contractors for the system’s designs.
The company has been pleased with Resolute Software, noting how easy it is to work with them. The team communicates well, and they deliver what they promise. Their project management is also top-notch, and they’ve been highly flexible in terms of project adjustments and changes.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the systems development supervisor for a manufacturing company that has its own software development team.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Resolute Software?
We needed customer software development services, so we hired Resolute Software.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We want to convert our legacy system and give it a new web frontend. With Resolute Software, we’re building this system from scratch, and they’re using Angular as the programming framework.
In terms of core features and functionality, the system’s frontend communicates with the API that another vendor of ours is developing. We also have a third-party web design contractor that provides designs for our legacy system. Resolute then develops solutions for that contractor’s designs.
What is the team composition?
Originally, we worked with one of their founders. Then, when the system was stable enough, he passed the project off to someone who was strictly a developer.
At present, the founder serves as a mentor for the younger resource. We work with both of them.
How did you come to work with Resolute Software?
We found Resolute Software through our personal relationships; they were technically a third-party to our prime contractor.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Resolute Software has been extremely easy to work with, and their resources are good communicators. Overall, they deliver on their promises.
How did Resolute Software perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re a high performer in terms of project management and reporting statuses. Everything has been easy to manage with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Resolute Software is uncommonly flexible, which is a big deal when it comes to scaling up a large system from scratch. When they work and we check the road we’re taking, we sometimes decide to make a couple of adjustments. I tell them to redo some things along the way, and that’s never been a problem for them. Overall, working with the Resolute Software team has been easy as far as flexibility and following our direction are concerned.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It helps to have clear specifications for the work. Once Resolute Software understands what’s needed, they develop it in full blast. Expect to work closely with them when scoping out the project; once you have that down, you’re good to go.

Resolute Software refurbished the web app of an information management company by redesigning its prototype and integrating new features to optimize its UX, including the app's navigation and header bar.
Showcasing ample expertise in development and design, Resolute Software rewarded their client with quality and swift technical solutions that streamlined their processes. The team was keen on setting clear outlines and swore by a communicative work approach, resulting in a seamless engagement.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing principal at an information management company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Resolute Software?
I needed their team to develop a web application prototype.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I wanted to sell my software solution to a large company, so I worked with Resolute Software to develop the prototype of my web app that I pitched to that client. We kicked off our engagement through a brainstorming session wherein I showed screenshots of my web app and relayed the changes that I wanted to be implemented.
I had an existing back-office application, and their team optimized it by incorporating modern solutions and new functionalities. Specific alterations included the redesign of the navigation panel for my app’s header bar. These adjustments were all integrated into a prototype that demonstrated all the features that the client could look forward to upon purchasing my app.
What is the team composition?
I mainly worked with one of Resolute Software's web developers, but there was also a web architect in charge of designing the prototype.
How did you come to work with Resolute Software?
I found them via Progress after looking for professional services and frontend tools that I could use to refine my web app. Resolute Software’s profile seemed credible, and I liked their previous work, so I reached out to their team.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent around $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from April–May 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Resolute Software delivered satisfactory solutions that saved me ten months of work — I wouldn’t have had accomplished that without the adequate technical training and speed that they had.
How did Resolute Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We mainly communicated via Microsoft Teams and used GitHub as our main project management tool. Resolute Software collaborated with clarity and preciseness — they were a communicative team, and they laid out clear goals and project outlines that we relied on throughout the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Resolute Software employed an on-point, collaborative approach throughout our partnership.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We faced minor time zone challenges at the beginning of the partnership, which could’ve hindered our progress had we not addressed these swiftly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be prepared with visual mockups and set clear goals that could help them generate more tailored solutions.

Respondent 2: We’ve spent about $310,000 to this point.
What is the status of this engagement?
Respondent 1: We’ve been working together since November 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Respondent 2: I’d given them the highest regards for making and meeting commitments. We worked in an agile environment. They met their commitments every time.
Respondent 1: They understood the technology and had the ability to execute the architecture strategy. I’d give them top marks.
How did Resolute Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Respondent 1: We deal with plenty of larger consulting firms, but they’ve met or exceeded the communication capabilities of all others we’ve worked with.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Respondent 1: They’ve been very accommodating in scaling up or down depending on our budget.
Respondent 2: Resolute Software is very flexible in that regard, which is great.
Respondent 1: Flexibility has been a nice thing about working with a smaller firm as opposed to a large company.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Respondent 1: We’re adhering to a very tight budget, and some communication slipped through between us and the middle partner’s team. This wasn’t on Resolute Software’s end.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Respondent 1: Be completely transparent. If you know what you want going into the project and articulate it clearly, that will make sure they’re clear on expectations. If I could do this project again, I’d bring in their senior architect sooner. They’re very easy to partner with and are willing to have the hard conversations upfront.
Respondent 2: They were able to do things we didn’t realize. Engaging in early conversations o figure out their capabilities definitely made a difference, especially because they were very flexible.

Resolute Software provides development augmentation services for an information management solution. Working with the internal team, they’ve written new code for a legacy system and built out new features.
Despite the tight timeframe, Resolute Software has managed to deliver their part on time with minimal errors. They’re comfortable with pushing back on ideas and have also helped refine internal processes. Their professionalism combined with their reliability has cultivated mutual trust.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
[Respondent 1]: I’m the EVP of a computer software company, which takes the form of the overall executive leadership of pretty much all aspects. On my path to this position, I’ve filled roles from technical support all the way through software design, marketing, sales, business development, and general counsel.
[Respondent 2]: I’m the VP of Technical Operations, working directly with Resolute Software on a day-to-day basis. I was part of the team that interviewed different software development shops before arriving at the decision that Resolute Software would be the best fit for our company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Resolute Software?
[R1]: The genesis of this relationship was because we had a legacy application that was in need of modernization to become a true cloud- and web-based platform. We needed them to work in a combination of Angular for the frontend and .NET for the backend.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
[R2]: Our relationship with Resolute Software is a hybrid between development staff augmentation and deliverable-based projects. So far, they’ve taken the concepts, features, and functions from our legacy solution and have written fresh code for it in a new platform. It’s a comprehensive information management solution that also supports complex reporting analysis.
One of the key things that we’ve wanted to do was to make sure that our software was agnostic to any device, starting with a mobile-first identification. This has created some scope creep because it’s forced us to rethink how we were doing things. Their team helps us see what works great for desktop, then challenges us to think about how that feature will adapt to smartphones.
What is the team composition?
[R1]: Veli (Co-Founder & CTO) and Bulent (VP of Engineering) have been fantastic. Veli started the relationship, but it’s transitioned more to Bulent.
How did you come to work with Resolute Software?
[R2]: I actually had worked with a few of Resolute Software’s principals in a previous job, so I had some historical knowledge of the quality of their work. When they formed their current company, they were looking for a good pillar client that they could run their business around. It was just good timing.
What is the status of this engagement?
[R2]: We’ve worked together since May 2019. The project that we did with them last year in 2020 was completed, but it’s part of a grander vision that we have.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
[R1]: The project last year involved a very tight timeline due to customer expectations — we had to finish the project by a certain date, and the solution had to be done right. Despite some scope creep on our part, Resolute Software delivered with flying colors. They were good business partners about it, too. There wasn’t any hand-wringing as they wondered how to do something. Rather, they buckled down and focused on a solution.
Now, we have a revolutionary product that’s really taking the market by storm. I’ve been particularly happy with the quality of the code. We haven’t had to rework anything fundamental, which is a testament to both the way that we built our system and Resolute Software’s skills. In the event that they do have to rework something, they finish it quickly, and we don’t have to do it again. They don’t make the same mistake twice.
[R2]: Some of the reasons for that level of quality are their development practices: they have code reviews, are engaged with proper Gitflow practices, and follow standardizations. They’ve actually helped us improve our standards within our development team. These are things that we’ve maybe wanted to do but haven’t had all of the expertise. Once we’ve seen how they’re doing it and how successful they are, we’ve been able to enhance our in-house development.
How did Resolute Software perform from a project management standpoint?
[R2]: All of the defects and project plan information is entered in Jira, and we used Confluence for specifications. They communicate with us via Zoom calls in addition to weekly meetings and more technical discussions over email.
[R1]: Given the international nature of the work, I’ve been very impressed with their command of English. We haven’t felt like we’ve needed to simplify any of our discourse, and I haven’t noticed a barrier when it comes to slang or speech.
What did you find most impressive about them?
[R1]: What I’ve come to respect about Resolute Software’s team is that they actually care about doing things the right way rather than just pumping us for more money. It’s a relationship that’s built on trust. At times, they’ve counseled us away from doing things that would’ve made their pockets heavier, but that advice has saved us a massive amount of technical debt in the long run.
They’re not afraid to question the decisions that we make. As an egalitarian company, we expect those who work with us to challenge our ideas to make the end product better. It did take a little while for Resolute Solution to become comfortable with that, but they eventually warmed up to that. Their two principals have been fantastic in helping us refine our processes internally as well as delivering good code.
[R2]: To augment that point, they’ve made it very clear that they will not fail due to staffing challenges, our own decisions, or whatever the case may be. If their names are attached to a project, they will be successful. It’s really their overall professionalism, quality of code, and the people that they hire.
Are there any areas they could improve?
[R1]: We’ve had a few challenges with some of their quoting where we’ve had to go back and question why items were quoted a certain way. However, whenever we’ve raised those issues, they’ve been very quick to resolve them — the owners will even speak to us directly about the situation. The relationship actually gets stronger every time we bring up a hurdle.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
[R1]: If you have a project that’s within their wheelhouse, don’t hesitate to go with them. They’re really trying to build something different and strong in the development services field, and I think they’re doing a great job. It’s a very young company, so you’ll have some growing pains with them. But, that’s what you get when you have a company that’s hungry and growing. At the end of the day, they do what they say they will and do it right. That’s all you can really ask for.
[R2]: If you’re a new prospect, you should open yourself up to their guidance. Some companies might struggle to take external feedback, but Resolute Software really knows what they’re doing.

After examining the outline and potential features of an app, Resolute Software presented a statement of work (SoW) and used Telerik tools to enhance the graphical look of the product’s UI.
Resolute Software improved the product’s graphical UI, creating a much more modern look that helped the business maintain cohesion throughout all its products. They adhered to deadlines and even went above and beyond to examine the code. The team also offered good advice, which was noteworthy.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CIO of National Time Systems, a workforce management company. We primarily focus on time and attendance.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Resolute Software?
We develop ancillary applications that work hand-in-hand with our time and attendance component.
We have teammates in-house who handle product development, but we didn’t have anybody on staff that could apply a better graphical look to the application that we were developing. We had done the nuts and bolts of the application, so we were looking for a partner that had graphical development capabilities.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We provided Resolute Software with an outline of what the app did and the features we were offering. They gave us a statement of work (SoW) that would add the graphical layer that we were looking for to bring it into a cohesive program.
The team also took a look at the underlying code to a certain extent that had to do with the graphical side. Their SoW came out to be about 60–80 hours. We weren’t looking for someone to develop the application; we were looking for someone to look at it with a different set of eyes and to use Telerik tools to jazz it up, which they did.
What is the team composition?
There were 3–4 teammates during the kick-off meeting. Once it got handed over, we then worked with a senior engineer and a lead designer. During our weekly conference calls, we worked with a minimum of 2–3 people.
How did you come to work with Resolute Software?
We had used their development tools for quite some time, and we were looking for someone that could give us the benefit of the graphical design and to rework the UI of the product. It was challenging to find someone through a temp service who was familiar with Telerik tools.
So, I reached out to Telerik and they put me in contact with someone from Resolute Software’s progress team.
They said they were willing to take the project on and could start right away, which was important to us. We didn’t have the luxury to spend 6–8 months on the project, and the team was willing to accommodate our short timeline.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $12,000–$15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in May 2020, and they committed to delivering within 30 calendar days. They came well within that timeline.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything that we had planned took an adverse turn this year. Our expectation was that we were going to be able to take this product and roll it out to a market of clients that needed the product. That roll-out hasn’t gone as fast as we would’ve liked.
However, we’ve been able to market the application to other clients who have this need. The look of it and what Resolute Software has been able to do makes it a modern product, which is what we wanted. We didn’t want a dated look.
In fact, we’ve even taken the graphical design that the team did and modified some of our other older applications to have that same look so that everything that we roll-out is cohesive.
How did Resolute Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was excellent. There was always someone on the team giving us updates and ensuring that the project was on track. Resolute Software was always on top of it, and they always had something to show us during the weekly conference calls.
We had a delay of 1–2 weeks, which was all on us. We delayed getting some things to them, and the team took it a step further and found some minor issues in the code. They pointed it out to us, even though they didn’t have to do that, which was helpful
The team was always on target and helpful. We asked their opinion on several elements, and they gave us good advice. Everything was perfect, and I have no complaints.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The most impressive part about working with them was how quickly they were able to start the project. They were ready to start the week after we got in contact with them, which was great because we had a tight deadline.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not that I can think of. It was a wonderful and productive experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t go through the process of hiring through a temp service; just go straight to the source.
