To ensure that the Testwyn website was up to scratch and offered a great point of contact for my clients around the world.

My business has already done well in terms of securing clients in New Zealand. Testwyn website has been shared on both Facebook and LIniedIn successfully. I've managed 7073 impressions on LInkedIn and 15574 impressions on Facebook with 1224 post engagements and 112 link clicks (and counting). Thanks Relinns for helping me with my website. Great work.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was done via Zoho and I was in touch with the Relinns Team everyday of the week. I did the testing on this project as I am a tester :-) so I wanted to ensure that my website was up to scratch by my standards. The Relinns team was accommodating!!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The UI/UX team was instrumental to the great look and feel of the site. I was thoroughly thrilled by the result.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I have used Relinns in the past so I was aware of the team and their management so I was prepared to ensure that I got what I needed for testwyn.com. I can be quite demanding but that's for the right reasons. My business must be successful!!

The product needs to be delivered in specified timelines and with continuous iterations as our requirements were changing.

We started with One module and based on the results went ahead with the project.

Being a startup, we were able to provide only broad guidelines on the requirements, then the development happened in phases. They worked on website design, ERP design, software development, website hosting, database management, and maintenance and data backup.

What was the team composition?

We interacted with people at the frontend. The total team size was around 20 people.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The project was delivered within six months, while the first module went live within 30 days. There have been no issues related to coding or the site in general in the last six months of usage.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We generally gave module requirements in MS Word documents. These were followed by a brief discussion of the scope, contents, and requirements. We had ongoing phone calls, Skype, and WhatsApp discussions throughout. Once the preliminary development was completed, the testing was done on a separate server before deployment on the site. After deployment, its performance was monitored for one week and any issues resolved on daily basis.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The speed of development and deployment was impressive. Their ability to work with limited guidelines, as well as their direct interaction with the development team to collaborate in real time.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

They should develop dedicated servers for clients and engage more in web hosting.

Their responsive, price, and knowledge of the product impressed us.

They’ve delivered the service we asked for. We never have any problems as everything happens according to plan.

They always deliver on time and respond quickly. If we’re not meeting the timeline, they can always give a reason for the delay. We communicate through email.

Aside from being detail-oriented and reliable, they have an excellent work ethic.

We expect the current project to be completed ahead of schedule, securing the trust of the stakeholders and company board. We then plan to re-assign them to Phase 2 for enhancements as well as new projects after completion.

They used Zoho exclusively for project management, with which we were satisfied. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Motivated and flexible, the team is professional in their approach and is willing to go the extra mile for client satisfaction, something we have never experienced until now.

Their current tools are good for project management, but a clear, descriptive weekly or bi-weekly report on task assignments and progress would be beneficial for stakeholders who may not understand technical jargon.

They have been very insightful and thoughtful on how they approach scenario planning and are very good at resolving issues in a creative way. The team works hard to continue to create a perfect platform for our clients which is now in its beta stages.

We communicated through Skype, TeamViewer, and keep track of the work through GitHub. They have been very professional and update us daily on the work they have done.

They think outside of the box to find solutions for problems.

This was my first time working with an offshore company, which presented some communication challenges.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Relinns provided consultation on the name of our app and the choice of infrastructure for its backend and design. Once we agreed on the initial wireframes, they started development. The iOS version was finished first; then Relinns started work on the Android app.

They provided one designer, 2–3 web API developers, two iOS developers, and two Android developers.

How did you come to work with Relinns?

I reviewed their online profile and found it impressive. I contacted them and got in touch with their CEO. We set up an initial payment schedule and started the collaboration.

We calculated costs based on the amount of work done. Because we were a startup running on initial funding, they agreed to receive a smaller amount upfront.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Relinns in March 2017 and the app was launched in October.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is quite stable and it’s exactly what we wanted. We have no complaints with the product. There were some slight delays, but this was acceptable.

How did Relinns perform from a project management standpoint?

We mainly used Trello and the Zoho project management suite for posting requirements and leaving feedback. We requested some changes midway through the process, which increased the project duration. We had some miscommunication about requirements but we were able to work them out. Relinns has a patient team that accommodates client requests well, especially for new collaborations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This was my first experience with an outsourcing company, so I cannot compare them with others.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I hope that they will expand their digital marketing side so I won’t have to look for these services elsewhere. I recently hired an SEO specialist who updated our site from HTTP to HTTPS. This disabled our APIs and caused a system shutdown. I don’t think that this would have happened if Relinns had a digital marketing arm. I have discussed this with them, and they agreed to look into it.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s important to have wireframes and requirements in place before engaging any outsourcing company. All the details have to be addressed precisely in order to avoid miscommunication and cost increases.

I am the founder and “Grumper-in-Chief” of GrumpNow Ltd. We are headquartered in London and our main product is a free mobile app called GrumpNow. GrumpNow offers public transportation passengers a way to quickly, easily, and constructively vent frustration about their negative experiences, such as a delayed train, a broken bus, or even a canceled flight.

We needed an established, yet affordable, company to develop our app from scratch. We knew what we wanted, and Relinns Technologies translated our stringent requirements into reality in a short amount of time.

What were your goals for this project?

One goal was to successfully launch a robust, visually appealing app that functioned the way it should, which we certainly achieved. We also needed an accessible backend portal to track and monitor new users as well as “Grumps” (submitted complaints). The app’s simple UI now allows us to quickly review and manipulate data and generate regular analytics and insights.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found Relinns Technologies online via a third party website. The company was highly rated with a 100% approval rating but still affordable. What convinced us was their high-level engagement and ability to quickly understand and interpret our detailed requirements, something that is difficult to do when conversing primarily over email. We soon got off to an excellent start.

After selection, they built the relevant wireframes for us to review. This was completed more quickly than expected, so we maintained the momentum and launched the app within a number of weeks rather than months. The testing phase was relatively painless and all feedback was implemented in a timely fashion. Relinns Technologies is always responsive to feedback and maintains a professional and vested approach to both the client and product.

What was the team composition?

Initially, we only dealt with one key contact at Relinns Technologies, but we have since gotten to know more of the behind-the-scenes team. It’s reassuring to know that there is more than one person who knows our product inside out in the event of a contingency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Although it is still early, GrumpNow is steadily growing. Because of the speed and quality of delivery, we had a seamless launch in the App Store that has generated over 1,000 downloads and a 4.2 out of 5 rating within three months. Future enhancements are planned for more “value-added” functionality and analytics, and we are looking to expand into territories outside of the U.K.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

A good workflow has been established collectively. We chat daily using a WhatsApp group. It hasn’t replaced the formal change request process, but it provides us with a reliable method of communication that enables us to ask questions and resolve queries, often in real-time, despite the time zone difference. We still occasionally talk via phone to discuss more complex requirements, but it’s good knowing there is someone there who is able to respond quickly when needed. Because we are especially conscious that clients don’t often appreciate the time and effort needed for making small tweaks and changes, we try not to be too demanding outside of formal channels.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We’ve been extremely impressed with the speed and quality of output for the money we have spent. We obtained quotes from local app developers and they were, as expected, much more, and we are not convinced that we would have got more for our money. There will always be times when things don’t quite work out as expected, but they have been rare with Relinns, We worked together on those occasions to address and resolve issues quickly and amicably. We have a strong working relationship and it’s clear that Relinns Technologies does not see GrumpNow as a quick, one-and-done project; they genuinely care about the longevity and sustainability of the app.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We have been extremely satisfied with their work, and plan to continue the partnership. One area of improvement is client management, specifically in being more proactive toward suggesting or finding a solution. Although not often, there were a few occasions on which we had to initiate the problem-solving discussion. Typically these are infrastructure related, rather than development, but a better awareness of the client’s lack of experience and understanding would be appreciated. It would be helpful for them to remember that these projects are often the brainchild of someone who knows very little about actually building or hosting apps.
