I’m the general manager of technology for IBMS, a property technology company that specializes in data integration for the purpose of decarbonizing commercial buildings. Our technology allows us to access data from any building system, which provides the capacity to change behaviors and track improvements. Our solution includes highly interactive user interfaces designed to provide awareness and show improvements.

We needed help with UI/UX development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Redi Software has worked on many projects for us. They help us design and develop high-quality user interfaces. Some of these development projects are quite unique and require large-scale data management and real-time displays. The team uses Marvel App for the mock-ups and React as the key technology for development.

What is the team composition?

We usually deal with the chief architect, the owner, and 1–2 developers.

How much have you invested with them?

Projects may range from $250,000 down to $10,000; it varies a lot.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2017, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We mainly measure three things: delivering on time and within budget, meeting the requirements, and customer satisfaction. Overall, the usability of their deliveries has differentiated them. Redi Software’s quality is excellent. We can’t speak highly enough of Redi Software; they’re great at what they do.

How did Redi Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication is excellent, and they’re very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The combination of their knowledge and ability to deliver unique requirements is outstanding. We’ve asked them to do challenging projects, and they’ve come through every time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re happy with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Define your requirements but give them room to contribute to the project. Let them help shape the delivery; don’t try to lock them down to a specific style or solution. Use their expertise.

I’m the managing director of Single Source, a SaaS company. We work with some of the world's biggest transport logistics companies in Australia.

What challenges were you trying to address with Redi Software?

We needed someone to help us manage our SaaS platform and implement all of our solution requirements.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Redi Software helps us with everything related to our SaaS platform. They solve continuous challenges that emerge, and they design and implement the solutions we need. For example, we used to have a lot of information coming from various sources, so we didn’t have a good way to visualize it. Thus, Redi Software recently helped us build a custom dashboard.

For this project, we had several meetings with Redi Software to discuss and define our requirements. Then, their team built the solution from scratch. Their scope included planning, development, and implementation. Now, they continue to improve this feature for us.

Our platform also has a reporting analysis tool, SMS capabilities, and a web app interface. As for the technology stack, Redi Software has used React and integrated widgets that they’ve also customized for us. Moreover, they’ve been in charge of developing its database and performing API integrations.

What was the team composition?

We work with five people from Redi Software intermittently.

How did you come to work with Redi Software?

My business partner found them on Google before I joined the company. As far as I know, he picked them because they were the ones that he trusted the most, and they came up with the best proposal.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $1 million AUD (approximately $680,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

They started collaborating with my company around 2017, and it’s an ongoing collaboration.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Redi Software has been able to address all of the technical needs we can’t; they’re great at understanding business terminology to figure out our technical needs and create solutions for those. Thanks to them, our platform performs properly, which is key for our business.

How did Redi Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Redi Software’s project management is good. However, we’ve learned new things throughout our different projects that have changed their scopes, so some of those projects have taken longer than expected. We use Jira for project management, and we communicate via Slack and phone calls. I’m also lucky enough to live near their office, so we can also meet in person if needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Redi Software is very realistic about expectations and costs, and they’re very upfront about it. Although they’re expensive because they’re based in Australia, they deliver premium-quality products.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We both rely heavily on the skills of their developers, so we worry that if something happens to them and make them unavailable, we’ll struggle. Thus, it would be great if they were prepared with backup resources in case something happens.

If you spend time and effort in getting involved in the project, you’ll get better results.
