For what projects/services did your company hire Radency?

I had an idea of a product and needed a competent agency to help me visualize it, create wireframes and actual design of the app for prototyping.

How did you select this vendor?

I researched and assessed many different agencies and freelancers. Compared to all of the other agencies, Radency stood out. Their proposal was professionally laid, their work process was structured and I really liked their response to my RFP and clear communication at the discovery stage. In particular they were capable of indepedendtly coming up with recommendations; showing ownership of the project throughout.

We started with a discovery phase where they mapped out the high-level requirements. It took them just two days to come up with wireframes covering all app’s major components and basic logic. Based on the wireframes their UI/UX designer crafted the visual aspect of the app. During the first few days they developed a design concept and after we agreed on it continued with designing the rest of the screens. It took them around 2 weeks to complete the design, with excellent reporting on progress and ensuring that my changing needs as the customer were addressed.

There was a full-stack Flutter engineer who drafted the wireframes and consulted us on various aspects of app’s development and a UI/UX designer. Their partner Kate served a very helpful project management function as well offering valuable product ideas, joining progress update calls, and answering my questions.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within just 3 weeks we came from an idea to a beautifully designed interactive prototype in Figma. I’m very impressed with the end result and the efficiency of their processes. THe protype will serve as an inital submission for seed funding rounds.

The workflow was very efficient due to their responsiveness and smooth processes. They were quick to grasp our initial requirements and had a comprehensive understanding of our goals for the product. Their project management style is excellent. They always kept us informed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very professional and detail-oriented. Working on the product they covered aspects I haven’t even thought about. You can give them the task and be sure that it will be delivered in the best possible manner. They exceeded my expectations most substantially with showing ownership of the project; it felt very much like working with a great team, not just someone contracted to do a job.

Not really, they exceeded our expectations.

Due to the shift towards online sales meetings we needed a tool where it would be easy to create visual brand experiences and present materials to our clients. We hired Radency to design and develop such a custom platform. Our main goal was to reduce time developing personalized sales presentations for clients and improve client experience with high-quality marketing materials.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We sent RFPs to at least 10 companies. Radency was among them as someone recommended the company as an up-and-coming agency. We shortlisted 3 companies and chose Radency as we really liked how proactive they were at the discovery calls, they had the experience and drive to do a great job on our presentation platform.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The task was to build a constructor platform where a user can create customized marketing materials and presentations using pre-designed blocks. The first step was a two-week-long discovery phase where Radency asked us a lot of questions gathering requirements. By the end of this phase, they presented wireframes and visualized the main components of the platform.

Another 2 weeks were devoted to creating a visual style and design of the platform. Since the wireframes were already approved, the actual development started simultaneously. After a month of development, they did the first release and we started having DEMOs every two weeks to see progress and to give feedback. After 3 more months, the platform was complete.

We worked with 2 full-stack developers and a delivery manager on an hourly basis. In the beginning, there was also a designer and for the last month of development Radency also assigned a QA engineer to help prep the platform for production.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our sales team is spending considerably less time preparing materials for clients, now there is no bottleneck and my team doesn't have to wait days for designs to be ready. It’s too early to share measurable outcomes, but my overall feedback on what we managed to build with Radency is extremely positive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Though we had direct access to the whole team, we mainly communicated with a delivery manager. His role on the project was instrumental as he advised us on certain features of the platform and provided guidance to the developers. The communication was smooth, the guys were responsive and their established processes definitely helped to efficiently use our time and create a great product.

We used slack, zoom, and Trello for task tracking. At first, we had 15 minutes calls twice a week to go through the team's questions and discuss the progress, and once there was something to show after the first release we also had regular demos where we could share our feedback and suggest some tweaks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Combining technical and product skills, Radency is a one-stop destination for creating custom software products. Apart from actual development, we got crucial insights on the product’s usability, feature priority, security, etc. They offered solutions which helped decrease the development time (and hence our spendings). We felt that they really care about what’s best for their client’s business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We were lucky by the time we started the project Radency had available resources. Otherwise, we’d have to wait a couple of weeks till they find the right people. Availability is a common issue for boutique agencies.

Since the release of the new app all our new cusomters are already working with AutoLogg 2.0 and are verry happy with it. In the upcoming weeks we also want to move our remaining customers to the new app.

Their project management was very professional, and items were delivered on time. If there were new or updated requierements from our side, the always tried to enhance them and to provice the best value for the customer.
