What challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

We’re known in the market for our leading UI/UX designs. Our initial product was built four years ago, and we needed to upgrade it to a next-generation platform. Our team wanted to give the frontend a new UX to bring the platform to the next level and to keep up with technology trends.

What was the scope of their involvement?

QubStudio helped redesign the frontend of our platform using Figma. They designed the money transfer, bill payment, and login features. Their team helped with some other features as well. They touched everything on the platform. Users can transfer money, do remote deposits, pay bills, view their recent transactions and balances, and can even talk to the conversational AI bot that we have within the app.

During the first three months, they worked almost full-time with us and finished the whole platform. Now, we call on them when we want to make minor tweaks or add new features.

I work with their project manager and two designers.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

Our founder discovered them through a recommendation. Our team talked with 5–6 design firms before them. We looked at their portfolios, talked about budget, and QubStudio seemed to have the best quality of work.

We’ve invested about $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have really good UI/UX designs. Their team comes up with ideas we never thought of. We’re impressed with them.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

If we need anything, we just ask. QubStudio is very responsive, helpful, and organized. We hold meetings twice a week. They design and then send the work to us for feedback. We then talk about it together. It started with wireframes to collect all the ideas and then to collect the requirements. Their team makes adjustments according to our feedback.

QubStudio is very good at communication, and they do their market research to understand what the best UX is. They give recommendations as well. We can make comments directly on Figma. We use Slack, but I mostly rely on email to talk with them because then I can attach screenshots. We do screen-sharing and use all kinds of tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team has a really good UI/UX sense. They have a different perspective and can come up with something unique and very user-friendly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Think carefully about the features you want and communicate the business rules clearly to them.

We hired Qubstudio while we were an early-stage startup. Our team needed a team to build out our vision of what our product would look like.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed an application with a unique and easy to use on-boarding flow for users of the Attrace network. The jobs included front-end an back-end.

My team did a web search, after several meetings and checking their work, we selected the UX team of Qub.

Once we selected Qub as our UX vendor we had several (online) discovery meetings. Within two weeks they delivered the first designs in Figma to our front-end team. Qub was involved in the designing and was highly involved in our front-end team. Especially the projectmanager Mayya did a great jobm organizing weekly stand ups and managing front-end tasks.

What was the team composition?

Mayya Vu (PM) was my main point of contact, but I also worked with Stipan (UX/ UI design) and Serge Strokov (UX/UI design).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They worked closely with us to craft an application that was unique and user friendly. Their responsiveness level was really important to us. They were willing to utilize a Slack and Telegram group and speak directly with us about progress.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They did a great job managing everything. They kept things on the timeline and worked really fast. They understood what we needed them to do. In this regard, their creative team did a really good job

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They always responded to us quickly, were very open, and all at reasonable prices. I’m impressed with their work. Price, open communication and fast responsiveness were the most impressive

Are there any areas for improvement?

At this stage, I don’t have any corrective measures for Qub.

I’m the founder and CEO of Elision. Our service is a podcast platform for people who are interested in audio-visual content. The product allows podcasters to upload their content and get an outcome from it, and listeners get unlimited access to all podcasts available on the Internet. One of the main competitive advantages of Elision is the way audio content is designed and displayed.

For what projects/services did your company hire QubStudio?

We wanted to improve our existing app and add more functionality in order to make it more intuitive and comfortable for users. The most challenging was to create a better layout for the player to make listening to podcasts more engaging and continuous. Also our goal was to attract more unique podcasters and help them gain profit and popularity.

What were your goals for this project?

Their team drastically improved our user experience to make it a lot easier for users to onboard onto our platform and interact with the content, as well as making it easier for us to manage all of the elements involved on our end.

I’d heard about QubStudio and the quality they provide many times. I looked through the website, got acquainted with the approach and portfolio and decided to try it.

Listening to podcasts became engaging and continuous by redesigning player layout and adding a list of recommended episodes which play automatically after the current one. The design team improved navigation, playback controls, suggested different options for advertising on the platform, created templates for sharing episodes and podcasts in social media, and more.

We were working with the PM, Lead UX/UI designer and UX/UI designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Qubstudio is a very skillful UX / UI design team. They were able to quickly dive into my domain to understand both needs of business and users and generate different options for solving the problems.

I felt a partnership working with the team. They were using the principle of out of the box thinking which helped in the generation of creative decisions. Their work on the service has helped us get investments and relaunch the product on Google Play and App Store.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team has always been in touch. The communication process is at a very high level.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Qubstudio team covered all issues in the service for a very short period of time and we received great results. The design team was highly motivated and always took the initiative. I liked that the company was guided by the principles of product design.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can’t really answer this question, as our collaboration has been effective, and it gave us great business results. Highly recommended this design agency!

We faced an ecosystem-related issue: our landing page did not convert well. It did not have a clear call-to-action, the copies were not speaking the language of the core customers, it did not have a clear proposition, and did not do enough “handholding” for the potential customers. We hired QubStudio to create a new landing page.

The goal was to develop a better-converting, more user-friendly landing page.

There were a few other vendors in the region, but they looked the most professional, and most reliable.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

After the new landing page is online for a few weeks, we've already realized a better conversion. Industry professionals mentioned that they really like the new page.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was very impressive, they handled it very efficiently. After and before every important step, they always scheduled a call with us to discuss the details.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their efficient project management, high-quality designs, and fast responses stood out.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is very little they can improve. My only suggestion is that they could maybe create a template sheet where the clients can give feedback in an organized way.

Our web design wasn’t great, and we wanted to upgrade it to reflect the professionalism of our firm.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Their team completely redesigned our user interface to make it a lot easier for users to onboard onto our system and interact on the platform, as well as making it easier for us to manage all of the elements involved on our end. They worked using Django and PHP for development and maintenance.

We found them on Clutch and decided to work with them based on reputation and past experiences.

We worked with them between February–April 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work was really good. I was very impressed with their team’s design skills and ability to brainstorm, create, and execute the changes that we needed. They worked very independently, which made the project much easier for us to manage.

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management skills were great as well. It was very easy to work with them as a whole.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like the ethos that they bring to their work every day. It was always clear that they cared about the quality of their work beyond just the money that it was making them. Not only that, but the value of the work for the amount that we were paying them was incredible.

No, I really don’t have any particular ideas for things they could do any better.

Make sure that you have weekly meetings and stay on top of the progress as much as possible to make sure you are getting the results you wanted.

Aden is a startup incubating a video streaming service focused on bridging the best parts of the traditional pay-TV model with the user experience of newer digital media services. My role has been to focus on the ideation, business plan and development of the potential service using a combination of my own personal and professional experiences in the entertainment industry.

I worked closely with QubStudio to develop wireframes and a hi-fidelity mobile prototype that would help illustrate the core value proposition and features of the service.

What were your goals for this project?

My primary goal was to be able to articulate the vision for this service with potential users, future hires and eventually investors. Developing a prototype would help show how the offering not only differentiates itself from other existing services from both a content offering and user experience, but also solves core problems users have around content discovery, personalization, and the passive viewing experience.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After doing initial research on both freelancers and agencies focused on UX/UI design across the world. Based on references from other startups who appreciated the broad access to high-caliber, English speaking and cost-effective talent available in the Ukraine, I interviewed and assessed proposals from several agencies and selected QubStudio based on their process, communication and quality of previous work products.

Over the course of several months, we had weekly video conference calls to build up to a high-fidelity prototype. We initially started with a research phase to focus on the problem, outline the core value propositions and understand the market landscape both in terms of competition and trends.

We then focused on creating a user persona and user journey map to help guide the information architecture. Using moodboards and SWOT analyses of various competitors, initial wireframes were created to start laying the initial frameworks of the app. Then we focused on UI design that eventually led to a high-fidelity, clickable mobile prototype.

The Qubstudio team consisted of one senior and one junior UX/UI designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The prototype has been shared with my network and I have been able to gain valuable feedback. The work that was completed will also make it easier to describe the service to potential developers as we move from design to development.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The weekly conference calls and constant communication over email facilitated a smooth process where information and updates were continuously shared between both parties. There were healthy debates and feedback sessions that improved various features and flows of the final product.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I appreciated their responsiveness and to go the extra mile to make sure the client was pleased with both the process and product.

Are there any areas for improvement?

From a client perspective, I believe I could have done a better job communicating and providing feedback faster and helped better articulate certain core aspects of the service. Once I was able to do that, the team quickly adapted the service to meet my vision.

We were selecting from four different studios. Starting from the first meeting, QubStudio has demonstrated their professional level. Their portfolio and rate where best compared to others. After reviewing their portfolio, we decided that QubStudio corresponds to our needs.

During ideation phase QubStudio has performed several interviews with us and builded personas with main user scenarios. '

We have select one week sprints approach so by the end of each week we had a very productive demo were a lot of new insights were discovered. After each demo we were strong in mind that we have selected the right studio for such a challenging project

Currently we are on implementation phase. Result was so great the we want to implement pixel to pixel all the deliverables and artefacts produced by the studio.

Sonnenklar is one of the biggest German travel agencies on TV and the Internet. Our focus is to improve our online activities and we were looking for mobile-first UX design companies to help us adjust to the modern market needs.

Qubstudio was hired to do a UX review of the client’s purchasing journey and suggest improvements without changing our existing UI elements.

What were your goals for this project?

To simplify the mobile and web experience as our website has become too big as we got more and more offerings. We also needed to engage with new audiences who make decisions differently now.

How did you select this vendor?

One of our partners recommended Qubstudio because they had a successful collaboration in the past. We had a number of calls and then Qubstudio prepared a detailed plan before starting the project. They showed excellent communication processes and quickly understood the specifics of our business, so it wasn’t a hard decision.

We used to have Desktop as the main point of contact with our audience, but as now people prefer more mobile experience, we had to make changes to how people buy vacation plans. We needed someone who could find out how our existing product could be improved without building such a big product from scratch.

We had the development team on our side and Qubstudio performed as our UX design vendors. They provided us with a team of lead designer, UX designer, and a project manager who ensured that all deadlines were met and that no miscommunication happened.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project has just ended and we still need some things to do before publishing and testing at the moment, however, all of our team is happy with how our updated product works and we’re excited to give it to our users.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Guys from Qubstudio were constantly asking for feedback and quickly reacted to it. We had weekly sync calls, the deliverables were submitted in time. Qubstudio did a great job syncing and iterating with our front-end developer, QA in Figma and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It was a challenging project and Qubstudio was absolutely helpful on this path. They jumped in quite fast and stayed within the estimated timeline. They took the UI elements we had before and made look fresh and engaging for our users. It saved us a lot of time and our loyal customers will not get confused.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I’d recommend to give them the feedback they’re asking for as soon as possible because they respect it and know how to deal with it. Timely feedback will save you from any avoidable rework. We’re absolutely happy with our partnership and will come back as soon as we need more design services.

I’m the CEO of RankScience, which is a SaaS testing software platform. Our team is based in San Francisco, and we have about 15 people on staff.

What challenge were you trying to address with QubStudio?

Design talent is pretty scarce, and we’ve had full-time designers on staff that weren’t a good fit for the business. We decided to bring on QubStudio as a replacement for a full-time designer.

What was the scope of their involvement?

In an effort to revamp our existing UX, they started with an informational interview to learn more about the product. After they collected information from us, they interviewed some potential users to identify various pain points with the existing UI/UX. From there, the team got to work on solutions, starting to create mockups and visions for the final product.

Their team consisted of three people: a project manager, design director, and another designer.

How did you come to work with QubStudio?

They were recommended to me through an internal forum. Other startup founders had used them and found them to be a tremendous value. I decided to give them a try based on that recommendation.

We started working with them around May 2019, and we’re still collaborating currently.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our users praise the new products for being much more intuitive than before. All of our feedback has been super positive. We’re happy with their work as well. They really thought through onboarding and how users would experience the app for the first time. 

The delivered product is much more than bare-bones MVP designs. Instead, the team was thoughtful and gave us tons of different screens and animation options. They really went the extra mile. 

How did QubStudio perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been excellent, willing to hop on the phone every other day for conference calls. Their team is proactive about sending us UI/UX notes and screens when we need them. We had about two calls each week, but they were proactive with communication and called as needed. Aside from those calls, we spoke mostly over email. Because they’ve been fantastic, we’re hoping to continue using their services.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their designs is above and beyond what we expected. They have incredible designers on staff with amazing customer support skills. They’ve always been proactive about solving our problems, some of which we weren’t even aware of beforehand. It was nice to have a partner that could consider the big picture while working.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re proactive and able to come up with ideas, so put work into preparing for their calls each week. That’ll move the project along faster.
