I'm the manager and owner of a distribution company. We sell specialty construction products primarily to contractors online and in-person.

What challenge were you trying to address with QCM Media ?
We needed help on the coding side for our platform. We needed to pull down data from the Volusion server to be able to work with it.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I have a background in software and services from a prior life but I'm not proficient in code. We have a platform called Volusion and they write in .asp code and I didn't know anything about it.
There's an SQL table that lives on a server and they went in and wrote a script that allowed me to run SQL queries and return the data to me in a URL that I could then work with and mine for analytics.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Josh (Software Engineer) and Karen (Founder).
How did you come to work with QCM Media ?
I went to the Volusion website and I saw QCM Media as a contact. I sent them an email.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested $1250.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our work spanned February – March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The reason I was happy with them was that even though it was a small order, they treated it like a big one, and treated us like a customer that was going to grow. The script is excellent and works really fast.
How did QCM Media perform from a project management standpoint?
They sent me some documents for defining the scope, which I appreciated. The better they're able to nail down the scope, the better both parties are off in the end. When the project is done and delivered, they provided a document that was easy and helpful. They even followed up and made it work for me when I got stuck on installation, which they took care of.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were really good. They know what they're doing and it showed.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I wouldn't change a thing.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to clearly define the scope and communicate what your expectations are so you can get what you want. If you don't tell them what want or what you're expecting, you're not going to get what you want.

What challenge were you trying to address with QCM Media?
When I worked with them, we needed help implementing search functionality within our site.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They generated an API that helped us manage and refresh all the credentials we entered into the search functionality. We provided a summary of all our requirements, and they created all the wireframes and documentation. They worked primarily in the backend section of our website. We wanted to add options for USD and other currencies, and they also added timestamps to each search. They helped us resolve all of the issues we faced with the development.
What is the team composition?
We worked mainly with two or three developers, a project manager, and a business analyst.
How did you come to work with QCM Media?
They were known experts in the subject matter we needed help with. We considered a few companies, but QCM Media was our top choice. They provided a high level of detail, and they understood our needs. They offered a good price, and their strategy was very straightforward, especially compared to the other companies we considered.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from about August-October 2017. We have other projects in mind that we'd like to hire them for in the future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We definitely saw increases to site traffic and revenue. The functionalities they put in place helped our website and allowed our users to search for different products across the website. The level of convenience is greatly improved.
How did QCM Media perform from a project management standpoint?
They fulfilled all their requirements for both timelines and budgets. I had no concerns about their process, and everything worked out perfectly. They were very easy to work with, and they provided everything we asked for.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were cost-effective and very responsive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Most of the changes could have happened on our side. I wouldn't hesitate to work with them again, and we will approach them again about other projects. Their communication and responsiveness were always very good.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We would have done better to have everything in place to begin with. We sent them all our requirements one at a time, and a more detailed plan at the beginning would have been more efficient.

They updated both the aesthetics and the functionality of the website as well as migrating from Volusion to WooCommerce providing training and constant support. The project took a very long time to go live but it was due to many factors that were beyond anyone's control. Thus, there was a lot of relearning, reteaching, remedial help. They were pretty patient because even before the site went live, we were already making changes.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We now have interactive reviews which has helped us to provide better customer service. The site is more attractive, and we receive compliments on the way it looks. We don't get many complaints about it being difficult to navigate and if something comes up that is a problem, Karen remedies it.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Managed by Karen, very responsive.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Karen is patient, explains procedures, and has a good disposition. Dealing with people that do not have a strong technical background is probably pretty frustrating, but she is cool headed. Karen works for us on an ongoing basis.

In regard to the services provided, I think there are always areas for improvement with the functionality of a website. We work with Karen because when the need for improvement comes up, we know she will have or find a solution.
