What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide on- and off-site support to all of my end users, no matter what their needs are. They come to us, recommend things we need, and explain why. They handle everything from fixing the printer to managing our servers and IT hardware. They configured our wireless network and continue to make sure it is up and running at all times, even after hours.

When we moved into a new office space, they built our servers and rewired the entire suite to make sure our ethernet drops were located where we needed them. Last year, they were instrumental in making sure everybody on our team was set up to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is the team composition?

I work with 3–4 lead technicians on a regular basis, but they bring on other people when we need it.

When I was researching new IT companies, their name came up several times. Several references recommended them. I met with the president of Preemo IT Support face-to-face, and it was clear it would be a good fit for both of us.

We started working together in January 2016 and our partnership is ongoing.

When we moved, the configuration they set up improved our efficiency. Now our uptime is almost 100%.

We communicate via phone and email. Every once in a while, we have to follow up with them about an ongoing project, generally, they’re very good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very quick to respond to any problems that we have.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they need to improve. I’m very happy with their service.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very honest about what your IT needs are and what your concerns are. A lot of people go into partnerships like this with expectations, but their ideas don’t align. Many other people wonder if they really need an IT company if their systems operate well — they definitely do! If everything is running smoothly, that means they’re going their job well.

When Preemo IT was brought on board, they had a challenge from the get-go. Preemo IT came up with a game plan for it, executed on it, and it turned out great. Anytime we have an issue or a special project, we can reach out to Preemo IT, who will be there for us.

How did Preemo IT perform from a project management standpoint?

Preemo IT is responsive and quick. As soon as we submit a troubleshooting ticket, Preemo IT will jump on it. We've had emergencies during weekends and at night, but we were able to reach Preemo IT on off hours.

Preemo IT meets challenges, comes up with plans, and gets things done.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have multiple workstations for our programmers and designers. They're typically high-end computers with a lot of memory and processing power. We needed to make configurations that would last us for a long time, taking into consideration how fast technology moves. Preemo IT put together a cost-effective solution for us, getting us around 10 workstations for our team.

We are a large synagogue and elementary school. I am the campus logistics director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Preemo IT?

We have always had an IT contractor, but the ones we'd used prior to Preemo IT were a much smaller, mom-and-pop businesses. We started to grow significantly and needed a company which had depth and enough people to handle a team member being sick, for example. We also needed to have someone on-site. Preemo IT is down the street from us and also has a resource on location on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Preemo IT acts as our managed services IT provider for the entire campus, including 200 desktop computers and another 200 iPads, as well as our servers.

Preemo IT provides a standard IT package based on the number of devices in question. Anything which doesn't have to do with their standard operations is treated as a project. Preemo IT has done many projects for us, most recently setting up a new server, given that our old one was 5 years old. Adding better Wi-Fi to the property was another project as well.

Our standard agreement with Preemo IT is for $100,000 per year.

We have been working with Preemo IT for 2 years and have an ongoing relationship.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Both our previous support company and Preemo IT used a ticketing system for tracking their operations. After the first 6 months of our collaboration with Preemo IT, the number of daily helpdesk issues significantly dropped, from 20-25 tickets per day, to 3-4. There are even days in which we have no tickets. We run very smoothly and have no down-time.

How did Preemo IT perform from a project management standpoint?

Maintaining schedules has never been a problem with Preemo IT.

What did you find most impressive about Preemo IT?

Preemo IT's staff is customer service-oriented. They treat us like we are their only client, even though we know that that's not the case. Preemo IT always takes our call and we always feel that they're only working for us.

Are there any areas Preemo IT could improve?

We would like to have the same person on-site consistently. Preemo IT told us that there needs to be some variation in the event that one of those team members became sick or unavailable. In the end, Preemo IT did listen to our request, and we've begun to see more consistency.

Preemo IT has a member in charge of answering a phone, acting as a gatekeeper for their whole company. He always gave us a rundown of our reason for calling. I mentioned to Preemo IT that, if I or someone else from my institution will call them, there will be a specific reason behind it. We know why we're calling, so please don't question us. We've started to see a change and no longer get the 10th degree questioning that we did. Their phone person in general does do a good job of making sure that everyone does the right thing and I have no other constructive criticisms for Preemo IT. They handle everything very well.
