**The Review** — Aug 15, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: User feedback has been unanimously positive, with people praising the app's more unified appearance and simpler UI. Praxent provided regular updates throughout the project and tailored their work to the fintech space. Customers can expect a partner with strong design vision and a deep bench.
""This specialization allows them to engage with industry people and conferences and deliver better services.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a marketing relationship manager for a credit union service organization. We primarily serve the credit union space and some community-based financial institutions outside fo that group as well.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to upgrade the visual look and feel of our mobile banking app. Our services live on a platform that provides mobile banking solutions for credit unions, and we wanted to customize our look their to be clean and modern.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They modified some of the code files to change our fonts, colors, and iconography. They were also part of our recent launch conference, presenting what they worked on to our customer credit unions and other fintech partners. Finally, they made a few recommendations that we’ll look at in the future to modify different areas of our platform.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We ran into them at a conference while back and talked about their work.

What is the team composition?

We worked primarily with four people: a project manager, a couple of engineers, and a designer.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $32,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from March–May 2022. As this was a project-based engagement, it allowed us to iterate on the deliverables We have conversations to this day and refer our clients to them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback we’ve received is that the app is much cleaner and more concise than it was previously. People have also said it’s much more consistent in terms of its look and feel. Our clients’ users think it looks great as well.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly calls with our project manager, as well as additional communication as needed. They also kept us updated with regular posts and reports in terms of our financials and what they’ve accomplished.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their focus on the fintech space stood out for us. Our project was even a bit different in that we had to work in the confines of our platform, but they’re also capable of working from scratching and molding it into the unified visual experience the client is looking for. I’ve never worked with a firm like them before that’s specifically focused on the fintech arena. This specialization allows them to engage with industry people and conferences and deliver better services.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so. It took them some time to ask all their questions in the beginning and get the right resources involved, but we had tight confines for them to work within. We’re certainly happy with the engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We met weekly to go over the progress of the project, and Praxent team demonstrated the functions and features they have built out so far and any issues they encounter along the way.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Praxent team is very responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and simply great to work with. They are great at updating us on the status of their work and where we are on the timeline. They are responsive to our needs based on their understanding of our goals. Overall, they have been on time on the overall delivery timeframe. We are not absolutely strict on the timeline ourselves, so that gives Praxent some wiggle room. I think a bit of flexibility is good for both sides.

What was your primary form of communication with Praxent?

Virtual Meeting

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed by their organization, professionalism, knowledge, and responsiveness in communication, their effort to understand our needs and wants, and quality of their work. And everyone on their team is nice and great people to interact with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Praxent could have done differently?

There are some features that I think should not have been considered enhancements that should have been part of the original design. They were features that were fleshed out as the platform started getting built out and demonstrated. They are sort of essential to the functionality of the program. It's hard to know exactly how a function will work until it's built and demoed, and from there, we tweak that function. I don't see it as an enhancement at all.

So that is something that Praxent should be up front out about at the beginning. Or at least define what enhancements are and why they will be come at add'l costs. There may be also some issues in the backend in terms of integrating with our existing database, but I am not familiar with that, as someone else in my company is handling that, so I won't say anymore.

#### UI Design & Dev for Small Business Data API Company

Solutions Engineer, Small Business Data API Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 201-500 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Feb 6, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent delivered on the three deliverables set, and the client considered the project a success. The client was impressed with Praxent’s project management and felt they exceeded expectations, delivering steady communication and clear documentation throughout the engagement.

"“Their team had a lot of enthusiasm.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a solutions engineer for a small business data API; we provide connection services to business accounting, banking, and commerce data.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to enable better and easier conversations with prospects. We hired Praxent to help us design and build a demo-facing UI. We were looking to build what looked like a revenue-based financing journey because we had software that we wanted to show off in the context of revenue-based finance.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them a general outline, and our goal was to make this feel like any revenue-based journey in the market. We didn’t want it to be cutting-edge because we weren’t looking to outcompete any of our buyers, but we wanted potential buyers to recognize the platform was almost state-of-the-art when we were showing off the demo. The design was completed using Figma.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two project managers, three engineers, and two designers.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I believe someone at our company met someone from Praxent at an in-person event. Our company came to the conclusion that this would be a good way to build our relationship. We thought this would provide us with an asset, and if we decided to work together in the future, we would already know how to work together. Praxent would also have experience using our platform at that point.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between July 2022–January 2023.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were looking for three things from this project: a landing screen, an authentication screen, and a load option screen. Once those three things were delivered, we considered the project a success.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed beyond expectations from a project management perspective. They were always clear about where we were from a development standpoint and had weekly status updates along with documented updates. When our company had to take action on a piece of the project, Praxent followed up with us in a timely manner. We connected their teams with our infrastructure via GitHub and communicated through phone calls and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team had a lot of enthusiasm, which let us know they were excited about the project. We enjoyed interactions with Praxent and communicated effectively. We were very happy with everything delivered, and they came up with a great design, given the brief we gave them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We wish they could have coordinated a deployment plan and timeline more thoroughly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Bring as much as possible into your specific requirements because they’ll consider that. If there’s anything specific you’re looking for, bring it up, and get input from members of your team to end up with the product that will meet most people’s needs.

**The Review** — Nov 28, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Praxent, the client has been able to release their product and start generating revenue. The team excels at project management using GitHub and Jira; they stay within the budget and communicate effectively. Their transparency, flexibility, and collaborative approach stand out.
"“Their whole team has been professional and excellent to work with from the top down — it’s been delightful.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive at a startup company. I oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and am the product owner.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

Another company had developed a very basic MVP of our platform, and we hired Praxent to take over.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent provides us with design, development, and QA testing. They've taken our platform's MVP and gotten it ready to launch to customers. We already had a design baseline with the MVP, so Praxent has taken over our Figma files, enhanced the existing design, and created screens for new features.

They've spent about four months building additional key features, making enhancements, and updating the platform using Nest.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and React. Praxent also has a QA pipeline and does automated testing to mitigate potential bugs. Our platform enables paying users in the commercial furnishing space to engage directly with their customers, run projects, and generate new leads through marketing efforts.

What is the team composition?

We work with around 10 teammates from Praxent, including a technical director, a QA specialist, a designer, a product strategist, a product owner, and development staff with lead and junior developers.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We found them through Google. During our search, we spent a lot of time on different review sites, including reading Clutch reviews. Once we found Praxent, we researched them and interviewed the owner and their business development team.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent around $350,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent has enabled us to get paying users into our platform, which has allowed us to generate revenue. They've built out features that attract new clients and keep existing clients on the platform. When there are bugs or critical enhancements, the Praxent team prioritizes and fixes them.

They're a dedicated and true partner, and they care about the success of our platform and business, which they've demonstrated in a myriad of ways. Therefore, we'll continue to work with Praxent for the foreseeable future.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They lead successful project management and budget management for the features we expect in our scope of work. They came in slightly under budget in the last four months. As for deadlines, we've had a couple of feature releases that took 5–10 business days longer than anticipated due to them learning the new platform. However, they've been communicative and worked with us to ensure everything is debugged and working properly for our user base.

Overall, they're excellent and work well with my team and me, ensuring they adjust communication and expectations if needed. Slack is our main communication tool, and they're very responsive. We have all our meetings through Zoom. For project management, we use GitHub and Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm impressed with Praxent's transparency about everything related to the project, whether it's budget, timeline, issues, or priorities. They're also highly collaborative and flexible. Their whole team has been professional and excellent to work with from the top down — it's been delightful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything major they need to improve; we enjoy working with them. When an issue comes up, we work together to find a solution.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure that you have a good collaborative communicator as your point person working with the Praxent team. This will allow them to work and move at the pace required for the project. Being decisive is also important; you'll have to make decisions about changes, bugs, or features when developing software. You'll help your product vision come to life if you're assertive and direct.

**The Review** — Aug 8, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent provided invaluable advice, and the client is delighted with their work. They were flexible, accommodating partners who received feedback and applied it well. They communicated via Slack, and the client plans to engage their development services for future projects.
"“I’m not easily impressed, but Praxent has been a fantastic partner, and we’ve had a great experience.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the SVP of marketing at a cybersecurity and fraud prevention company. We aim to prevent cyber-attacks resulting from stolen data.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have some products that employ an interface or user dashboard and others that are just APIs. We wanted to find a way to demo the API products so that people could experience the power of our solutions in real-world scenarios. Praxent specializes in creating fintech applications, and they know how to use APIs, so we wanted them to help us showcase our data in a financial application and an ecommerce storefront.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent built seven demo prototypes in Figma that look and function like applications. The demos serve as fake websites, showing insights into a consumer’s risk for fraud based on breach and malware exposures. The mock sites use real data to simulate an application without a live API call.

Prospects can see how our data interacts with applications and how they would factor in the data to make business decisions. Praxent copied all the product files into our own Figma account so we could manage it going forward. We plan to utilize their development services for future technology projects.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–5 team members at Praxent, but we mainly interacted with a project manager and two designers.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We found Praxent through an internal recommendation. One of our executives had previously worked with Praxent, so we met with them to discuss the project and their plans. We felt they would be a good partner, so we didn’t evaluate anyone else.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested roughly $30,000–$35,000 in the partnership.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in May 2022, and they delivered the final prototype files in July 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent has given us an effective method to show our product to prospects in a relatable way. Instead of imagining how our data can affect their businesses, our prospects can see a visual representation of how our product can work to help them.

Our non-technical employees can now demo our products using a simple URL, hugely impacting our business. Before, our employees faced several technical challenges related to APIs that wouldn’t allow our marketing staff or salespeople to demo our products easily. We wanted to demo use cases at events, and Praxent has allowed us to do that within minutes, which has been incredible.

It’s been awesome to see a visual representation of our product and allow our employees to tell our story and show prospects how we can concretely help them.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We had our initial kick-off call, and Praxent moved the project along quickly and flexed as needed. When we started working together, I wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to take the project. Our team went back and forth about building an API-driven application or a mock demo. Praxent advised us to make the best possible choice, which was helpful.

Our initial statement of work (SoW) was only for two demos, but we kept adding work to their plate. By the time we wrapped up the project, they had delivered seven demos over three months, which is a significant accomplishment.

They were excellent communicators and always kept us on track. We used a shared Slack channel to maintain contact, and they always responded to our requests in real-time. They made themselves available for calls whenever we needed to discuss certain project components. We created shared templates and a design language, which enabled us to move rapidly and scale the project quickly.

As we got to know each other, we developed a lot of trust in our working relationship, which enabled us to move more rapidly. They started to understand our needs and anticipate our expectations and feedback, which was incredible.

Praxent stuck to timelines and accomplished more than I ever imagined in the three months we worked together. The whole project was incredibly rapid, and we reached a point where we had a common vocabulary. They’ve been fantastic to work with, and we’ve since recommended them to many of our customers.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed by their flexibility. We kept changing our expectations and adding to their workload, which they took in stride. They never gave us pushback and were always willing to accommodate our growing needs. Once they started to get to know our expectations, they changed our billing method to accommodate us better.

I know I can trust them to work on various projects; their input is valuable and welcomed. They also have access to great resources; their staff of project managers, designers, and developers is well-versed, and we can count on them to deliver quality work. I’m not easily impressed, but Praxent has been a fantastic partner, and we’ve had a great experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Praxent could improve on; they’ve been easy to work with, and their outputs have been awesome. I only have the best things to say about them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to be engaged in the project; we invested in the relationship and worked closely with Praxent, which was our key to success. It’s best to invest in the relationship and the project rather than just handing it off to them and hoping for the best.

We gave a lot of fast feedback and never let anything sit for long, which allowed Praxent to work quickly and deliver amazing results. Also, take their advice if you’re unsure which direction you’d like to take the project in. You can lean on Praxent to tell you the best way to do something, given your goals, timeline, and budget.

**The Review** — May 31, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: In six months, Praxent successfully delivered quality core themes that the client would latch on to. Also, they helped align the teams towards a shared vision and assisted them in the process. They led a constant framework and communicated effectively. Overall, they stood out for their expertise.
"“The team delivered high-quality artifacts that met people’s expectations and kept everything moving.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a 35-year-old software company with roots in the financial technology space. We’ve grown over the years through a combination of acquisitions and organic growth efforts. I’ve been working here for over four years, three and a half focusing on financial technology solutions, and I’ve recently moved into our healthcare technology solutions. My current work involves efficiency, health claims, and adjudication.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We acquired technology specifically for pharmacy claims adjudication and had several customers already. We had a mature solution in the market. Still, in July, we announced a new initiative with an existing client and a partner to fully modernize some of this technology for pharmacy benefits management (PBM). It was the next generation of what we already had in the market.

Since the technology had been around for some time, it was only being maintained. We didn’t have a new product development team in place nor the design capability necessary for that level of redesign. Additionally, we were coming from another modernization effort and didn’t have the in-house talent we needed, so I advocated for an outside consultant to augment our talent.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We built a team with Praxent to leverage production. Initially, we brought them into the fold and tried to identify a scope of work that made sense. They offered a broader spectrum of services, but we didn’t need them. We had a plan and technical staff to deal with the rotation side, so we hired Praxent to focus on qualitative and quantitative upfront pressure research with internal and external customers. Also, we wanted to emphasize thinking outside our constraints for more holistic experiences that would be driven by a workflow and understanding perspective rather than a functional interface.

What is the team composition?

Some of the firm’s partners were involved in the early meetings. Once we were established, we got a core team with a product manager that attended all meetings and gave us updates. Then, we had a primary researcher and designers in the background.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

Another colleague in the team was aware of them. We needed to move fast, and Praxent’s work was particular to the area of enterprise healthcare. We were impressed by their presentations.

How much have you invested with them?

Between the two statements of work, we spent probably under $300,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first scope of work lasted six months, from August 2021–February 2022. I hoped to keep them engaged seamlessly, but we had a couple of months of lags, unfortunately. Now, we’re in a three-month engagement.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We agreed on a specific scope for a large project, and even that limited scope was really ambitious. However, Praxent was able to frame up well what they would do for the stakeholders who weren't accustomed to working with a design firm. Their ability to get people on board in various roles was helpful. Also, they structured some of the early research protocols and helped with interviews, getting quality information, and synthesizing that back to stakeholders in an organized way.

All in all, they came in and made sense of a lot of data flying around and came up with some core themes that we could latch on to. Then, they quickly followed our direction requests to cover a certain breadth of ideas and go deep in a couple of areas and some of the early wireframe prototypes, which helped get the teams aligned towards a shared vision.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was positive. We had weekly updates with the project manager, and they presented a common and constant framework, which was helpful for the people involved. Also, they were good at communicating if things were slipping. When they did, it was more on areas outside our control, such as scheduling and trying to get user interviews with people that were hard to reach.

We had a couple of areas where we had to tweak the scope a bit and consider the slight budget change. However, Praxent handled those communications well and with enough lead time so it wouldn’t disrupt the work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their general talent in UX research and design was their evident strength. Also, their understanding of the obscure industry was a significant advantage for this particular initiative. They were organized and transparent in their structure, and the team delivered high-quality artifacts that met people’s expectations and kept everything moving.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any strong criticism. The critical things were usually on our side.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about why you’re engaging them, where their work stops, and where your internal capability needs to take over — getting that upfront allowed us to make a lot of progress once we were engaged. Also, it was helpful that they were willing to invest the time to get the statement work right.

COO, Axiom Investors

**The Review** — May 18, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Users have given overwhelmingly positive feedback about Praxent’s work. The database has improved significantly — it’s now more professional-looking, faster, and easier to use. The team is understanding, communicative, and responsive. They stick to the guidelines and are constantly available.
"“Praxent hears what we ask for, but they interpret that and make suggestions beyond what we want.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO of a registered investment advisor firm. We manage investments in the public equity market, predominantly stocks for institutional investors like pension funds and endowments. We manage about $15 billion in assets and have about 60 people on staff. Our company has been in business for over 22 years.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We had a proprietary research database, which we used to collect information on companies that we potentially might invest in and those we’d already invested in. The app was built over 10 years ago and had minimal functionality — it was starting to show its age and limitations.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve engaged with Praxent to revamp and further develop the application. We’ve done it in two phases. First, they’ve rewritten the program using modern technologies and platforms instead of the .NET outdated version that we had. It’s an update of the underlying technology, and we also have done a facelift to make it look and feel like a more modern program. The next step has been enhancing the functionality to use better the data we collect and do things like charting, cross-referencing data, and more functions to help us leverage our work to make better investment decisions.

We meet regularly to outline our vision for what the software should look like and take them through the existing system and some of its flaws and limitations. They’ve worked with us to understand the program and how it works. Then, they’ve spent an additional amount of time understanding what we want to get out of the end goal. We’ve talked about ways to break up the work into discrete sprints, which has allowed us to spread the cost of development over time. We make one sprint, digest it, and test it to let our users work the system. Then, we come back and do another iteration. Over a year, we’ve developed at our own pace.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What is the team composition?

We’ve been assigned a project manager who has shepherded us and been involved throughout the whole process. Then, they’ve brought in 2–3 developers to work with us.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

A developed on our staff found them. I believe it was through a recommendation from a colleague from his previous work. We also interviewed five other similar firms in New York, the US, and abroad. However, we clicked better with Praxent. They seemed to understand our needs better than some of the other companies, and their pricing was competitive. Overall, they just were the best cultural fit for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent about $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2020, and our relationship is ongoing. We’re getting to the tail end of the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve rolled out features to users in batches over time, and we’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback from a practical level. We can now enter data more efficiently and faster, which has helped speed up our entry. Although nobody cares about entering the data into the system, it’s a necessary evil, so the fact that we’ve streamlined it has made fans out of our users.

Secondly, the project has been very impactful because we use this database to demonstrate how we think about companies to our prospects and clients. Therefore, it’s an excellent window into our investment process. When we present it at meetings, it comes across as more professional-looking and impressive than when the software was over 10 years old. Therefore, it has given us a lot of marketing cachet in addition to the pragmatic aspects.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been excellent at communicating. We have regular meetings, and they stick religiously to them unless we ask them to postpone or move them. They’re available for everything and have been very responsive to communication beyond the weekly calls. In general, they’ve stuck to the guidelines. If there has been a significant deviation, it has been caused by us changing the parameters.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to understand is outstanding. Not only do they understand what we need, but they guide us to things that we may not have reached on our own in terms of layout and functionality. Praxent hears what we ask for, but they interpret that and make suggestions beyond what we want. We didn’t know we needed those things until we were introduced to them by Praxent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think about that, but I’m pretty happy with them. I’d be stretching to come up with something.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to find someone you can partner with instead of just hiring someone to do a job. If you don’t come from a development background, you should work with someone who understands your business and needs — it’s important to find a partner that’ll guide you through the process.

What is the team composition?

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Praxent team has been open and transparent about what they’re doing, making our job easier because we see where they are with the timelines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

To be honest, I can’t come up with anything they can improve right now since my focus is on our side of things.

**Feedback Summary**: The client was delighted with Praxent’s valuable advice, and their design received praise from internal stakeholders. The team was communicative and timely, creating a seamless project management process. They were professional and personable, and their transparency was key to the project’s success.
"“Praxent made sure we thought about the project from both a customer experience and UI point of view.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm a programmer and the IT manager at Church Extension Plan, a nonprofit financial services company. Our company provides financial services to churches and ministries of the Assemblies of God. We primarily fund loans to churches and support them with various investment offerings, retirement account options, and estate planning services. We make sure our clients aren’t borrowing more than they can pay and support them if they run into difficulties.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

Our executive team and board recognized that having a mobile app would afford us trust and prestige. Although we had a website, we also wanted to give our existing customers an app option to have on their phones. However, we didn’t have the time or resources in-house to create an app ourselves, and the board wanted it developed relatively quickly.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent designed our mobile app. A developer from their team helped us think through the design and how it would influence the build down the road. Additionally, they delivered a design for our responsive desktop web portal.

What is the team composition?

I worked with two people during the sales process. When we moved to the design stage, we had a project manager, someone overseeing the project, two designers, and a third one shadowing the process. One of the original designers gave birth near the end of the process, so the third designer took over for her. We also worked with the developer who advised on design. In total, we worked with 5–6 people from Praxent.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We did Google searches, reached out to app development companies, and Praxent was one of them. We had ongoing conversations with 3–4 developers. While others were content to take our existing portal and cram it into a phone shape, Praxent asked questions about the value of professional design. Others did very little to recognize our lack of expertise. Meanwhile, Praxent paid attention to our needs during the sales process. They wanted to ensure we got what we needed and not just what we asked for.

They requested our design documents, which we didn’t have. So, they suggested pausing the development process and designing the app first. In our initial conversations, they were very transparent about their prices, and they were out of our range for development. However, their design prices were a bit lower, and they had compelling arguments for starting with a professional design, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2021–March 2022

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The response to Praxent’s work has been almost universally positive. Everyone in our company, including our board members, thinks the design is fantastic. This is a hard consensus to achieve, and it’s helped us feel comfortable that we chose to go with them.

I’m very happy that they steered us toward designing first. Initially, we were putting the cart before the horse, and we would have ended up with our customer portal scrunched up into a phone shape. Praxent made sure we thought about the project from both a customer experience and UI point of view and that we had the design nailed down before going further.

Their expertise has been valuable to us. They were happy not just to design the app but also to coach our team on why they made certain decisions, how things were used, and why they were important. They provided a lot of experience and insight that we didn’t previously have, both from a design and a technological perspective; Praxent’s work involved bringing us up to speed on UI design.

The team had some really valuable conversations with our technology team that helped us think about the technical challenges of an app in a new way. Even though we’re going with another company for development, we’re in a stronger position to tackle the challenge thanks to Praxent’s help. We closed the engagement very amicably, and they offered suggestions and help to pick another vendor and even offered us their employees at an hourly rate.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was very effective. They delivered either on time or within a week. Even though we had holidays and someone giving birth through our engagement, Praxent found ways to connect and make sure the process was seamless regardless of any issues. For example, the transition to the third designer went very smoothly, and we didn’t experience any interruptions in the workflow.

The sales team threw in the portal design near the end of the sales process, and the team was very realistic about how much time that would add to the plan. They were very good about delivering on a reasonable timeline and within the budget set at the beginning.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with Praxent’s transparency. We had very few surprises, and there wasn’t any dishonesty involved. As a result, we felt pretty comfortable being open with them about our budget, timeline, hang-ups, and slow-downs. The team was very transparent about everything from costs to what they wanted or didn’t want to do.

Additionally, everyone on Praxent’s team was really kind. Although they were professionals, they were also friendly, and we enjoyed talking to them. Their skills were also impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had an issue with miscommunication during the sales process. After a casual conversation, I thought we’d agreed to one thing, and they thought we’d decided on something else. However, we were able to rewind and locate where the communication had failed, so we got through it. Although nailing down specific topics could have been better, the team fully recognized that and worked on it going forward, so no hard feelings were left.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Praxent can take a holistic view of your project even if you don’t have the experience to do so. My advice is to lean on their expertise, even to help figure out what stage of the process you’re actually in. You can trust they have the skill and experience to find the best way to solve the problem and then actually solve it.

**The Review** — Mar 31, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client was delighted with the resource Praxent provided to support them, who was honest and did a great job. They were great at project management and very personable. Their congruency in delivering on promises and ability to manage expectations made the client consider them a go-to partner.
"“Cristian was very insightful and honest with his timeframe and abilities.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a partner and a founder at a fintech company. We’re doing our best to create a website that will bring financial planning and advice to a broad audience.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were trying to bootstrap the website development. We were working with a development team and wanted to find someone else to help us get a few things done in parallel with that team. I brought in Praxent in a staff augmentation capacity for development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent was our full-time staff augmentation partner for four months. If we had a void within our existing development team, Cristian (Senior Frontend Developer) would come in to help us.

What is the team composition?

We only worked with Cristian, and I had a little interaction with Kevin (Managing Partner).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We considered three different companies. Initially, we were looking to do some UI/UX work with Praxent, and though that didn’t come to fruition, we got to know them through that process. When we needed staff augmentation, we decided to lean on Praxent because we were more familiar with them than the other firms we’d talked to.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent about $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from around August 2021–January 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I can only speak about Cristian’s work, and although he wasn’t reporting to me, the person responsible thought he did a very good job. Cristian was very insightful and honest with his timeframe and abilities. My interactions with him were very cordial, and I learned something from his time working with us. Additionally, Kevin seemed like a very nice person, and he was a straight shooter.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Cristian hit every mark when it came to project management. He was personable and easy to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Praxent did a very good job at finding offshore talent. Cristian was a very straight shooter, which was important; what he said he could do, he delivered on. The best thing about him was that he was very good at managing expectations; most people in the technology industry are terrible at that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there wasn’t anything they needed to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend them; Praxent delivered, and Cristian did a great job. If I needed help with development work in the future, I would reach out to Praxent and request Cristian.

**Feedback Summary**: The client is satisfied with the quality and consistency of Praxent's work. Their commitment to timelines and budgets and communicative approach have been key to the project's ongoing success. The team also praises the accountability of their work throughout the partnership.
""I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — Praxent has done what they said they’d do.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of an insurance organization called Resolvedrisk.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We needed help with web development for our business.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent created a demonstration website for us. To jumpstart the project, I provided them with sketches showing the workflow, and we then met with their designers to build the platform collaboratively. They basically created the whole UI/UX for me, which is what we asked for.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with four members of their team, including three designers and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We found them through a web search, and we chose them because I was impressed with their portfolio and design approach, which seemed straightforward and organized.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $60,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve consistently delivered what we’ve asked for with the parameters we need.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent; they’ve done everything within the established timelines and budgets. In terms of communication, we use weekly Zoom meetings, email, and Figma to exchange comments and feedback on their designs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project management and accountability stand out the most from their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — Praxent has done what they said they’d do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Plan everything upfront; that’ll enable you to scope the projects without deviating from that.

**The Review** — Jan 19, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent has helped evolve the client’s platform into a more robust, fully integrated version. Through great organization and attention to detail, the team quickly identifies and resolves issues to ensure the smooth implementation and eventual success of the project.
""Their team is awesome to work with. They’ve helped us navigate this complex project.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We were formerly ACAP but we went through a rebrand in the fall of 2021, so our company is now called Newity. We provide equitable access to a traditionally underserved segment of the economy, which is small to medium-sized businesses. We connect entrepreneurs with affordable business loans and other trusted business services — such as online managed accounting, business insurance, and marketing and legal services — by leveraging our technology and partnerships. I’m the COO of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

In order to efficiently and effectively service PPP (Paycheck Protection Program) loans, we set up a portal where our borrowers could apply for loan forgiveness. We developed this portal back in the summer of 2020, but as time went on, we realized that we wanted to improve upon it and shift our focus away from PPP and more towards providing other business services for our members.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We started the project by putting together a high-level overview or schematic of what we were offering, for which Praxent submitted a proposal to evolve our 1.0 portal to a 2.0 version. We gave them access to our existing database and portal and conducted a handful of calls to introduce them to our goals in terms of features and functionality.

Over the course of a few months, Praxent redesigned the UI/UX of our portal to be more robust. For instance, they enhanced it to allow new member registration and accommodate new business services. They presented a technical product design that aligned with what we wanted, so we decided to use them for the implementation of it as well.

In the end, we were able to migrate our member base and connect our partner businesses to the fully integrated platform.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a few delivery leads and product designers. There was also a technical director, three developers, and a QA tester.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

A marketing firm that we were working with helped us identify candidates for the job. We spoke to a number of different firms, but Praxent was, from day one, the provider that truly understood our business and what we were trying to accomplish. They had relevant experience and seemed really interested to drive our project to success. It was a clear choice for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We officially engaged Praxent in July 2021. We’ve been working with them ever since.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We always knew that this was going to be a tough and complex project to take on, but it has gone very smoothly. We have just launched the platform, and though bugs are inevitable, Praxent has been quickly responded to and fixed any issue that came up.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their process is really great, and their team is awesome to work with. They’ve helped us navigate this complex project. The way our technology is built requires a significant amount of attention to detail, and they’re able to come through for us in a major way. They’re very organized and on top of everything.

We go by a weekly cadence, and their technical director and delivery leads are always accessible via Teams, email, or phone calls. It’s easy to communicate with them, and they’re very open to any feedback or suggestion that we give.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The organization of the Praxent team really stands out to me. Everybody — from the delivery leads down to the technical team — has understood and delivered what we were trying to accomplish. They’ve gone above and beyond for us and have taken a vested interest in the success of this technology and our business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of any negatives. Everything that came up during the process has been quickly identified, analyzed, and resolved.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend Praxent to anybody who’s contemplating the implementation of a new process or design. Their team is great and fun to work with, and any pain point you encounter will be quickly mitigated.

Chief Solutions Officer, Neocova
- Industry: Financial services

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Oct 22, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The company has gained 13 customers in two months, thanks to Praxent’s discipline, know-how, and subject matter expertise. Their work has delighted customers as they transfer their knowledge from the production to the platform that the business is building. They’re also highly communicative.
"“Praxent has run with the project, and they’ve been fantastic.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief solutions officer at Neocova, and I’m responsible for support, customer success, and solutions delivery.

Neocova does three main things. First, we provide a "Smart" unified data management platform for financial institutions, helping them organize and transform their data to make data-driven business decisions.

Then, we introduce an advanced level of AI and machine learning technology to the data to predict how banks can grow and sustain their business. Finally, we’re creating a banking data marketplace that enables fintech companies and banks to easily integrate with one another.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

When I first started at Neocova, the company required a solutions delivery capability in order to implement our products in a fast-growing community of customers. As a result, I created and established a mature delivery process called the Neocova agile execution model. We then partnered with Praxent to help us apply that model to our portfolio of customers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I created the model and trained our Neocova and Praxent team members to use it. We jointly built a team composed of a program manager, implementation lead, a banking subject matter expert, a data engineer, and a scrum master.

At present, Praxent helps us continuously improve and fine-tune the model. They also engage our customers as they help us deploy the Neocova platform. We plan to develop our relationship further as we grow as a business.

What is the team composition?

At the peak of the partnership, we worked with five people from Praxent, including one of their business partners.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

Our CEO had previous discussions with Praxent. When I came to the company, I did my due diligence and searched for vendors with deep banking experience — Praxent had this. They also had proper operational and program management discipline. In other words, they not only had the subject matter expertise we needed; they could also help us with its execution. These things were key to our decision to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend between $26,000–$34,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent has helped us responsibly grow from having only three customers to having 13 clients in a matter of four months. That’s amazing. It takes an enormous amount of discipline, know-how, and expertise to help us grow that fast. I hope to continue our growth at that rate, and I’m confident that the team can help us execute this goal.

One challenge we’ve encountered is getting used to the agile execution methodology itself — it was a little bumpy — but as we’ve fine-tuned the model and practiced it, our team has managed to operationalize it. Through this process, Praxent has run with the project, and they’ve been fantastic. In addition, the team has been instrumental in fine-tuning the model so that it fits our customers.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything is top-notch in terms of project management. Praxent never misses a deadline, and their communication is constant. They’re always ready, and their resources foresee project management disciplines that need to be put into place.

It’s almost like they’re reading my mind; they give me updates and suggestions about what we’re going to need, and I tell them that I’ve been thinking about introducing the same suggestions to them — except they’re ahead of me by two weeks.

On top of that, the Praxent team is truly humble and down to earth so it’s easy to work with them. They don’t overly stress their views and opinions, but they make recommendations when necessary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Praxent’s banking expertise has impressed me the most. It’s amazing, so our customers’ happiness is through the roof. They’re delighted to know that we have subject matter experts and that we integrate that expertise into our platform. Simply put, Praxent’s expertise doesn’t stay with the production team; it’s integrated into the software and disseminated across our portfolio of customers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get to know Praxent and onboard them slowly. Then, be completely transparent about your needs, direction, vision, and plan. They operate extremely well with this approach since they’re also open and transparent. Moreover, their number one goal is to serve their clients, so you must treat them as a true partner and not just a vendor of project management services.

**The Review** — Sep 8, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Recognizing the client's vision, Praxent provided valuable insights that helped the client optimize their user journey. Their work served to impress due to its accurate depiction of the app's user flows. Furthermore, the reliable team facilitated a seamless experience by being prompt and responsive.
""Their deep understanding of our application and our goals was impressive.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a co-founder and CEO of an early-stage fintech startup that’s developing a social investment platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to get started on our marketing efforts. In line with that, we needed someone to build a demo of our product that we could pitch to our investors. The demo we wanted was just a clickable platform with no actual functionality. Our goal was to show our app’s design and user flows.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent built a demo version of our app. We first had a meeting where we went over their proposal. Once they identified which teammates would be working on our project, we had discussions on the design we were looking for and the features we wanted to showcase. The design team then began working on the project. My co-founder and I met with them every week to go over their progress and provide feedback.

The deliverable was a high-fidelity clickable demo on Figma. It had 40 pages that anyone could access through a link so they could experience the user flows. We plan on using it to make GIFs and screenshots that we could put on our website and pitch deck.

What is the team composition?

We were primarily in contact with three people, but there was a total of five teammates in our weekly calls. Two team members did most of the design work, and Garrett (Principal Delivery Lead) managed the whole project.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

One of our advisors referred Praxent to us. We had 2–3 introductory meetings with various teammates where we explained what our company does, where we were at, and what we were looking for. We chose them because they had previous experience working with fintech companies and knowledge of the industry.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $23,000–$24,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership lasted from July–August 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent did a great job of capturing our user flows, which was vital to us. Our discussions gave us a better idea of the actual user journey we wanted for our product.

Additionally, one of our product advisors joined one of our weekly calls, and he was very impressed with the team’s work.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with Praxent was a great experience. Going through the process together and talking to an external team about our ideas each week was very helpful. Aside from our weekly discussions with the design team, we also had weekly meetings with Garrett, who gave us short status updates.

Furthermore, the designers responded well to our feedback — they quickly incorporated every comment we made into the next iteration of their work. The Praxent team was also clear about what they needed from us, and we produced those in time. They never went beyond any of our deadlines, so there were no delays from either side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their deep understanding of our application and our goals was impressive. Not only did they understand what we were looking for design-wise, but they also considered the app as a whole.

When we talked to other vendors, they only seemed to understand the design and not the platform, so it was nice that Praxent knew precisely what we were going for. That understanding allowed them to provide valuable suggestions and feedback.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing they can improve on. It was a great partnership, and I have nothing negative to say about Praxent.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’ve thought through your product. Furthermore, have a good idea of what you want in terms of user flow and so on.

**The Review** — Sep 1, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: The company has been happy with the resource that Praxent has provided. The team understood the client’s needs, and they’ve had a positive impact on the business. They’re also highly flexible as they strive to improve the startup’s deployment functions. Overall, the engagement has been successful.
"“Praxent has had a positive impact on our business.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CTO of Point Health, an Austin-based company that has built a software platform for navigating the health care process and to create a better health care experience for everyone.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We are a small tech company that needed to quickly ramp up on key technical resources. We brought on Praxent to our team to acquire the resources and skills that we needed right away.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent provided us with the necessary resources to bring our product to market on time. Mauricio (Senior Site Reliability Engineer) from Praxent was an integral member of our development team during this project.

The main challenges were to set up alerts and monitoring of our infrastructure. Mauricio works with our development team to set up tools to support our deployment functions whenever we push code into production.

What is the team composition?

We mainly only work with Mauricio.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

When I joined Point Health, our company had just signed an agreement with Praxent. Mauricio had the experience and technical skills we needed. On top of that, their management team was local here in Austin, Texas so it was easy to meet them as needed.

What is the status of this engagement?

We onboarded them in May 2021, and the partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent has had a positive impact on our business. They understand the challenges that we’re addressing, and they’ve allocated the right person for the role that we need. Without them and Mauricio, we wouldn’t have been able to set up our deployment pipeline successfully and quickly. In fact, they’ve worked on much of our monitoring and automation process needs.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no issues at all in terms of project management. Mauricio interacts with the whole team, and I have weekly one-on-one meetings with him to ensure we’re aligned on the task at hand. He also attends our daily scrum meetings, so everyone is aware of his work and vice versa. On top of that, we have regular check-in meetings with their account executive to make sure we’re happy with Mauricio and their services. Simply put, we’ve had a truly positive experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Mauricio is truly flexible. That’s great because we’re a small team and we often have to shift focus to handle any unexpected issues and priorities. When these matters arise, Mauricio is always available and works along side with our team until they are resolved.

Are there any areas they could improve?

None that I can think of at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Praxent is a great partner to work with so I would encourage any organizations to give them an opportunity, or at least speak with their management team. Based on our work with Mauricio and the overall business relationship with Praxent, I believe they can provide a customized offering and bring the right skillsets to meet an organization's needs and requirements.

Portfolio Manager, Sage Equity Partners
- Industry: Real estate

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Aug 5, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent’s creative and technical skills enabled them to clearly evoke the client’s unique services through the website, which is anticipated to attract a lot of engagement once it goes public. Their punctuality, communication, and follow-up practices stand out as the best aspects of their service.
""Praxent did a phenomenal job. They did everything they said they were going to do.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm an executive assistant of Sage’s portfolio manager. Sage Equity Partners is a real estate investment firm and provides people with a different way to invest. We have about 400 limited partnerships (LP).

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to create a really nice webpage that could allow other people access as well as give accredited investors the ability to sign up and look at the opportunities that we provide. Our boss based its design off of the website of similar firms, which is also how we came up with the name Sage Street. We hired Praxent to develop this website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our other website was done by our portfolio manager herself and it was very plain and simple. We had Praxent develop something better and more dynamic as we’re trying to reach out to a different group of people. A lot of our LPs are retirees or people in their late 40s, but we wanted to be more in sync with a younger crowd.

We started by informing Praxent about our timeline and about how our boss needed to be involved throughout the project. He’s a very busy person but, at the end of the day, this would be his website. We wanted to make sure that it was something he would like.

We communicated information about the company, our values, and what we were trying to accomplish. Our boss, who was in the meetings, never got to ask himself these questions even though he’s been running the place for 4–5 years, so it was a good opportunity for him to classify the company.

We then moved into selecting a color scheme. They also came up with different options for the design and arrangement of a page, which our boss modified. He pointed out specific elements, like a picture or a button, that did or didn’t like, and Praxent changed the design accordingly.

What is the team composition?

A project manager that was dedicated to us, and Doug (Principal Delivery Lead), Kelly (Principal Delivery Lead), and Victor (Senior Product Designer) formed the core team that worked on the project. There was also Kevin (Managing Partner) but he was only involved at the beginning, sort of like a high-level salesperson.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We’d been looking around for a developer for quite some time, and one of our former employees happened to have a lot of connections in the web development space. He was familiar with how to go about this project and push for the proposal.

We also looked at who developed some of the top websites that we really loved, and Praxent was ultimately referred to us by another developer who didn’t have enough room in their schedule to accommodate us. We’re very glad that they pointed us in Praxent’s direction.

How much have you invested with them?

This phase of the project cost approximately $5,000. The development stage will cost around $110,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We engaged Praxent and had our first kickoff meeting in mid-May 2021. The design phase for the website ended in July 2021 and we are now moving into development, for which Doug will be helping us.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They were very helpful and the partnership was a good learning experience. Praxent guided us on how to deliver the points we were trying to make on the website in a fast and consistent manner. They’re very creative and really built off of our goal which was to present people with different ways of investing. That was clearly reflected in the design that they made.

We haven’t gone public with the website, but we did show it to our investment committee and some of the directors of our company. They were all blown away by it and are excited to take it to the next stage. These are people with a combined experience of 70 years working in private equity and have never seen anything like this before, so they think that it will help increase our engagement tenfold.

The feedback that we’ve received from high-level team members in our offices has also been very positive.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Praxent did a phenomenal job. They did everything they said they were going to do. They were also very great at hitting deadlines. We were fifteen days behind schedule, but that was on us and not on Praxent. We have a CEO who runs about 50 companies and wanted to be on every call, causing some of the meetings to be pushed back.

Our boss is what we like to call a ‘window shopper’ in that he sees something he liked but doesn’t necessarily know how to explain it. Praxent was actually able to extract every idea that he had in is head and put it on the screen, which was great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Obviously, their design and technical skills are phenomenal, but my favorite thing about their services is the constant stream of communication and follow-ups that are not by any means pushy. When we had deliverables on our end, they laid them out point by point so that we knew exactly what we had to do. We didn’t have to overthink or spend a lot of time on one particular thing, which was very nice for a team like ours that’s very busy with other things.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. They were very flexible with our needs.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’re going to get out of it whatever you put into it, so when Praxent gives you deliverables, really think about and work on them. If you put the bare minimum into it, they can take a small idea and turn it into something glorious. If you’re going to spend time doing something like this or working with a company like Praxent, you definitely need to be ready to do a bit of homework and internalization of your company, its values, and its goals.

""We were impressed with their UI/UX design expertise."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of operations and technology for an organization called Voices Together, and we provide music therapy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were expanding to provide more services virtually, and we enlisted Praxent to build an app for us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent mostly did UI/UX design work for us. They designed a prototype on the very first phase of the development, and took us from having an idea to having a high fidelity prototype. We provided them with design guidelines and they used Sketch and InVision for the development.

What is the team composition?

Our core team was made up of Mark (UX Lead), Ezequiel (Delivery Lead), Kelly (Principal Delivery Lead), and Nick (Associate Design Director).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I found them on Clutch when I was looking for people that were in the area. They were the best choice for us because Mark was there, and we were looking for somebody who had a lot of UI/UX design experience.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $27,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first phase ran from November 2020–March 2021. We’re going to pick up again with them in the fall.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had done 15 user tests with the app and got positive feedback from over half of the participants with just a basic prototype. Overall, we were just really happy with the product.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

From a project management perspective, they were really responsive. Praxent was proactive, pleasant, and just good human beings to work with. We typically communicated by email and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with their UI/UX design expertise. I’m sure they have other things that they can do, but for what we were looking for, their core competencies in that area made the difference.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you’re clear and upfront with what you need.

**The Review** — Apr 26, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent’s work met all expectations. The team delivered all materials on time and on budget. They were friendly throughout the engagement and fulfilled all of their commitments. The team was fast-paced and efficient. Praxent is an honest vendor that produces high quality work.
"“Everyone was excellent. They delivered as expected in terms of time, quality, and budget.”

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO for a healthtech startup that focuses on health plan optimizations for employees, employers, and health carriers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were designing a SaaS service and needed help with UI/UX.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent delivered a full graphics toolkit for our new site. We knew what we wanted, but Praxent guided us through the process of thinking creatively and keeping our scope in mind.

The team provided a clickable prototype and all of the design materials for an employee e-portal. They also created a style guide for us, too. Additionally, they built an avatar for us to differentiate us in the marketplace.

What is the team composition?

We work with two designers, a project manager, a success manager, and their general manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I’ve done a similar project before with previous employers. I knew what I was looking for and found their name through a colleague online. On a whim, I called them up. Through some more investigation, I realized they had some of the best design skills we could afford. We decided to work with them from there.

How muchf have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $50,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2021, and we finished our first phase of design in April 2021. We plan to work with them more down the line.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’ve crushed it, in terms of delivering a product that exceeds quality expectations at the budget we agreed to. The team was really easy to trust and get to know. We developed a friendly and productive rapport.

We saw results come together very quickly. We developed colleagues, if not partners and friends, along the way. It was a pleasant journey. My team enjoyed themselves, too. It was the most fun they’ve had in a while.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Praxent did a great job of leading us through a rigorous, yet easy-to-follow methodology. It was a slam dunk. Everyone was excellent. They delivered as expected in terms of time, quality, and budget.

They’ve been kind and clear when we were asking for too much. They delivered what I expected, if not more. We had a PDF document with a Gantt chart with all of our critical items for each sprint. It seemed to work really well for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were able to honor their word and commitment.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Email as a communication method can be a little difficult. We needed to develop a more streamlined way of communicating because emails were getting missed from time to time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that what you’re asking for is clearly defined in the scope of work.

**The Review** — Dec 10, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent managed the client’s priorities well by developing a stable platform quickly so it could be released. Now they’re working on expanding the platform’s functions to meet the remaining requirements. To ensure transparency, they met with the client regularly to plan sprints and track the budget.
"“I’ve been impressed with how well they can take our ideas and put them into action.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the COO for BlueStar Retirement Services, a 401(k) Recordkeeper and TPA. We do 401(k) plan administration in the financial services industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have a great participant website that is mobile-responsive, but we were looking for a true mobile experience. We hired Praxent to develop a mobile app for us that would provide an excellent user experience for our participants and differentiate us from our competition.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted them to develop an iOS and Android app that built on our current participant web experience, but take it to the next level. We needed the app to be really engaging and provide a more guided experience.  We were looking to help all of our participants, but particularly young people, develop great savings habits and take control of their financial security.

Praxent divided the development into two phases. The initial phase focused on views like accessing a user’s account, information, lessons, investments, and contribution rate.

We’re now in the second phase and they’re working on enhancing that experience by creating a guided enrollment user flow.

What is the team composition?

We've worked closely with a number of Praxent people.  They provided all of the project management and the front end work.  My development team handled the back end work.  Their teams worked seamlessly together.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I did a Google search and found Clutch. I interviewed the top five UX/UI designers and was particularly impressed with Praxent because of how they configured the project. They also specialize in the financial services industry, so they understood what we were talking about very quickly.

How much have you invested with them?

The total project will cost $400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We engaged them in September 2020 and we are about halfway through the total project now.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We just finished the first phase and are moving on to the second. We estimate that it will be done in April 2021. I’ve been impressed by how they managed our two main priorities: getting to market quickly and improving the features our participants can engage with.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is exceptional. I’ve been impressed with how they’ve completed each sprint. We had several meetings to discuss the budget and timeline, which was a time commitment, but it was well worth the time.

They’re very reliable, so I know that I can count on them. It became clear that they were dedicated to delivering a quality product on time and under budget.

Midway through the project, we had to switch project managers. That concerned me at first, but the new project manager that came in didn’t miss a beat.

My backend developers use Slack to collaborate with them, but we meet weekly over video conferencing. They use PowerPoint to present the sprint plan and keep us updated on how well we’re managing the budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a really good design team. I’ve been impressed with how well they can take our ideas and put them into action. They’re creative, they hear our feedback, and they come up with unique ways to present data and create an experience on the platform.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’ve never been happier with an outside firm.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

New clients should make sure they have team members who can focus on the business side of the project. Praxent can do great things as long as they get good feedback, so it’s important that the business side is involved.

"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a nonprofit that builds criminal justice software.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We engaged them to help us with the UX design component.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent has been responsible for helping us determine the UX design across a criminal and civil court case management system. They conducted user interviews, looked at old systems, and observed them doing their business.

From there, they created mockups and clickable prototypes and made sure that they met the business needs and were technically feasible to implement.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with six teammates including UX designers, delivery managers, client relationship managers, and other folks to make sure that the engagement went well.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I had worked with one of their executive-level folks, so I knew that he was capable and smart and that any organization he was associated with, I’d probably want to work with. We did some interviews with him, Praxent did a proof of concept (POC), and we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we've spent $215,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in July 2020, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our customers are very pleased with our UX design, as well as ultimately the software we developed based on the designs and other business rules. We’re very happy, too.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team’s commitment to being successful and in turn helping us to be successful is impressive. Their ability to pick up the business domain in terms of understanding criminal justice terminology is impressive. They’re very efficient at getting up to speed on the terminology and understanding the business process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have common expectations. Both parties need to understand what success looks like.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent satisfied the requirements by delivering on time and under budget. The team was easy to work with and receptive to feedback, and they remained responsive even after the scope of work was completed. Customers can expect a qualified partner who knows what they’re doing.
"“Praxent delivered everything they promised on time and slightly under budget, which is as good as it gets.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a project manager at a university. I work for the Department of Medical Social Sciences.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We engaged Praxent to create the UI and UX for the new app that we’re creating. We have a contract with the federal government to create new tests that will be used to evaluate cognitive and motor development of infants and toddlers, ages 1–43 months. While we were creating these tests, we realized that the UX will be an important factor in people maintaining interest and doing those tests. We wanted to find someone who had experience in developing mobile application UX, and we chose Praxent.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We created high-level storyboards for each of the tests. Each test had a scientist assigned to it, and Praxent met with them one-on-one and conducted an interview. They asked questions related to what the test is measuring, who the target audience is, why the scientists are doing these tests, and what the expected outcomes are. Then, Praxent looked at the storyboards we created, and we had a discussion.

They delivered a low-fidelity wireframe for the tests. The final deliverable was high-fidelity screens that our internal programmers could use to program iOS-based tests. The tests will run on iPads.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Kelly (Client Partner) to set up the contract and sign all of the paperwork. She also attended all of our meetings. They had a technical project manager, Rob (Principal Delivery Lead), and a couple of designers. One designer created low-fidelity designs, and he was the one who conducted the interviews and gathered requirements. Another designer was responsible for the high-fidelity design.

They also had an iOS expert, whom we didn’t interact with one-on-one. Before they delivered designs to us, they ran them by the iOS expert to make sure that everything they were suggesting would work seamlessly in iOS. One of our requirements was to use native iOS features whenever possible. For instance, if there was a transition from one screen to another, we wanted it to be a natural iOS transition. All of their designs were reviewed in-house by their iOS expert.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We had some colleagues who’d worked with them on designing an interface for an iPad-based test. We contacted Praxent and liked what they had to offer.

How much have you invested with them?

It was roughly $80,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work went from May–July 2020. The whole engagement lasted about nine weeks.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m a project manager myself, so I was focused on budget and timeline. Praxent delivered everything they promised on time and slightly under budget, which is as good as it gets.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via email and face-to-face meetings. I believe they had some other channels, but it was our preference to use email, and that worked just fine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very easy to reach. Anytime we needed to raise anything, we had a call with them within an hour or two. They were easy to work with, delivered everything on time, and listened to our feedback.

Since we completed the project with Praxent, a couple of minor things have come up as we’re programming, such as additional clarifications and even one design slightly redone. That was no problem at all; they took care of it within half a day of us requesting it, so that was very nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I thought that there were sometimes too many people on the call, but I know they have their methods and procedures. Since everything came in on budget and we were very happy with the results, that was fine, but we were initially surprised that whenever we had a call, there were at least three people on it.

Any advice for potential customers?

They know what they’re doing. Just follow their suggestions, and you’ll get a good product.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent produced superior deliverables that satisfied internal stakeholders. To ensure transparency, the team provided frequent projects updates and solicited feedback. Their effective collaboration with vendors streamlined the engagement. They clearly explained technical concepts and decisions.
""They’re a knowledgeable and strong team that was a pleasure to work with."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of business development and marketing for a medical professional liability insurance carrier.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were restructuring, rebranding, and renaming the company. During this complete overhaul, we also wanted to redo our website. We engaged Praxent to develop our member and producer portals on our public website.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent built the portals for us from scratch. Their team designed the UI/UX and connected the portals to our underwriting software. This enables the portals to access information.

Praxent worked with our third-party vendors to develop the portals’ additional requirements. The portals needed different functions as one was for our members and the other was for the producers. For example, the members portal required a payment feature. To pay their bills online, they had to go through a third party.

What is the team composition?

I worked with Kelly (Client Partner) as well as Garrett (Senior Delivery Lead).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We hired a COO who engaged Praxent to build a portal for his previous company. As he loved the experience, he recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $350,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We contacted them in January 2020, and we worked with them through July on this current project. I look forward to continuing to work with them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have metrics because we haven’t launched the portals. However, I loved their work. Compared to what we had, what they delivered is great.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We had weekly meetings with Garrett and his team. Every week, we went through where we were from a budget standpoint. They always kept me up to date and showed me their work along the way to get feedback. Their communication was excellent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a knowledgeable and strong team that was a pleasure to work with. I don’t know a lot about building portals, and they were helpful in keeping me informed. Their team took the time to answer any questions that I had. They communicated with our third-party vendors and kept me up to date on their work together.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think so. It was a little expensive, but you get what you pay for. Although I had limitations on what I could spend, they were great about telling me what I could get for that budget.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open about what you like and don’t like. They want customer feedback and will go over and beyond to give you what you want.

**The Review** — Mar 9, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent played a large part in facilitating an issue-free site launch, and internal stakeholders largely attribute higher adoption rates to their development work. Responsive, accessible, and client-oriented, the team provided the best resources and solutions to fit the project’s budget and goals.
"“They will take more of a vested interest in not only finding you talent but also checking up along the way.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the Project Manager for a private investment management company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

My company undertook a project to develop a new digital client site. Our legacy site had not been refreshed in more than 10 years. The decision was made to develop a new platform to not only achieve our MVP goals but that would allow us to evolve in order to meet our client needs over time. This was the largest project our firm had ever taken on.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent provided a solutions architect to help us architect and design what our new site would look like from a technical perspective. They also provided development resources from both Linux and .NET backgrounds. Praxent’s team developed the frontend with React. They provided DevOps resources that helped us design a framework, choose a deployment strategy, and get that in place for both our client and public sites.

We’d done quite a bit of the site design with another company, so Praxent came in on the technology side and helped us design what the backend would look like from architecture and development perspectives. In the past, we hadn’t shown our models or allowed our clients to be able to build models on their own, and Praxent helped us bring that functionality onto the site.

What is the team composition?

At our peak, we had six Praxent team members on staff, and I was their project manager. We worked closely with both Chris (Director of Operations) and Kevin (Managing Partner).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

They had helped us in the past with a much smaller initiative, and we’d had a really good experience working directly with Kevin. For this project, we looked at a couple of companies, and we felt like Praxent would be a good fit for what we needed. We had to identify several resources through our interview process, which included developer testing. Praxent was able to quickly find matches for us, even when we needed to ramp up on certain parts of the project on short notice.

How much have you invested with them?

I can’t disclose that at this point, but they’ve definitely been able to work with us and find the best fit for our budget and the goals of our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

For this project, my company began working with Praxent around the end of 2016. In total, we’ve probably been working with them for about four years.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

One of the things that anyone is tracking when they launch a website is how many issues there are and how many clients are having problems accessing the site. We were completely staffed for two weeks around the time of the launch, and we had zero major issues. Since Praxent had a significant impact on the site’s development, I think they were also a big part of us not having any major issues during launch.

Ongoing, we’re gathering and continue to gather analytics from our old site as we completely retire it, and then analytics from usage on our new site. What we’re seeing is exactly what we were hoping for: better adoption rates, so we’ve been able to drive people back to our site more times per month for longer periods each time. Again, without Praxent’s help on the development side and then their questions and feedback along the way from the management side of the house, we may not have gotten to where we are today. Also, adding the modeling functionality to the site was a huge win for us.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Because it was such a large project for us, we kept in touch with both Chris and Kevin. When I dealt directly with them, they were extremely responsive. This was a very large effort for us, so Kevin and I met on a bi-monthly basis to touch base on milestones, issues, and anything that was high-risk. Whenever we had questions on invoicing, Chris was always quick to respond. From that perspective, they were at the top of their game.

There were many contracts that needed to be extended due to how our HR and legal teams do things, so being able to be in touch with Chris and Kevin every week was necessary. They were always really quick on responses and edits to contracts. They helped ensure that we met all of the scope items within our MVP.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think the most noteworthy thing about working with them is the fact that they’re not one of these huge nationwide companies; rather, they have an interest in your project because they’re here locally. They will take more of a vested interest in not only finding you talent but also checking up along the way. If something isn’t right, they’ll come on-site to talk through what changes can be made.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although being a local company is great from my perspective, one of the things they will naturally have a challenge with is finding all local talent. That was not a requirement of ours, but had they been able to find mostly local talent, I think we would’ve been able to extend some of the contracts even longer, whereas some of the talent that they sent us was nearshore. From our HR and legal perspectives, we try to keep some of those contracts to certain time parameters.

Any advice for potential customers?

Set a time for you to check-in with your point of contact. The bi-monthly checkpoint helped us clear up communication rather quickly.

**The Review** — Feb 21, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The product received positive feedback from stakeholders upon its debut. Praxent delivered high-quality development work informed by their experience working in healthcare and their intensive research process beforehand. Their transparency, responsiveness, and accurate estimates stood out.
""They immersed themselves fully in our industry before starting the project."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a managing partner at a pathology private practice.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to explore a business intelligence product with their team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We were looking for ways to make our operations more efficient. We have physicians located at different sites throughout the city, and we wanted to more accurately balance our workload while making sure the right cases got to the right specialists. We also have many hospital partners that compete with each other; asking them to interface with each other would have been difficult. We wanted to develop our own dashboard that would collect the cases we received every day, cross-reference the available physicians based on their licenses and specialties, and then assign the right cases to the right person.

They brought in folks who shadowed pathologists at different sites and met with stakeholders at the different hospitals and clients, learning the process from beginning to end. They then gave us a really well-developed wireframe for us to assess, confirming that it was the right workflow for our process. After that, Praxent developed a model of the product.

What is the team composition?

Kevin (Managing Partner, Praxent) was pretty hands-on with a lot of the work. Pete (Former Product Manager, Praxent) was his managing partner.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We surveyed a couple of local developers that specifically showcase healthcare products in their portfolio. We’re concerned with security and HIPAA compliance and wanted a vendor that would be comfortable with the language and needs of physician practices and the healthcare industries. Praxent demonstrated that comfort; they weren’t taken aback by some of our key requirements, nor did we have to explain a lot of those things to their team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from about April 2017 until the end of the same year.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The model within the product that they brought to us was very well-received. People thought that it had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, due to internal concerns, we weren’t able to implement it at the time. However, people were very happy working with Kevin’s team and the way they immersed themselves in an admittedly unfamiliar aspect of healthcare.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication was very good. Most importantly, they were very transparent, especially in managing project costs. Kevin specifically does a good job at giving reasonable expectations for potential costs and cost ranges. They also staffed the project appropriately to meet our timeline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They immersed themselves fully in our industry before starting the project, taking time to understand the particularities of pathology. They demonstrated this more than any other vendor we were vetting.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they could have done differently. They were very clear on our goals and what they would produce, and they delivered within the expected parameters.

Any advice for potential customers?

If you’re in a less well-known industry, make time for Praxent to immerse themselves in your industry. That means onsite visits and open office hours to understand the nuances and improve the delivery by far.

""The work Praxent did to validate our idea gave us the confidence to stay the course and build our product."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of Virkware, an HR startup. We offer a collaborative software solution.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We needed support building our MVP, an HR platform that would allow employees to strengthen skills and improve engagement while at the same time allowing companies to make better use of available resources within their firms.

When we began building our product, we wanted a partner who could focus specifically on the UI/UX component of the platform. We were also looking for consultation on the viability of the software within the market.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent delivered two objectives for us. First, they helped us to define the key elements of our solution, including workflows and use cases.

To achieve this goal, the team conducted competitive audits as well as a marketplace review, focusing on three of our specific competitors. Praxent also ran several collaborative workshops with our team.

Next, based on a rough wireframe we provided, the team built a prototype that represented some of the major capabilities we’d identified in the first stage of the project. After several collaborative discussions, we finalized a version of the solution refined by user feedback.

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people regularly. Kelly (Senior Delivery Lead, Praxent) was the project and product manager as well as our main point of contact.

We also worked with Deanna (Director of Product Strategy & Design, Praxent), and two colleagues from the UI/UX and customer research area, Mark (UX Lead, Praxent) and Victor (Senior Product Designer, Praxent).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

Though we’re based in Singapore, we knew we were going to build our product with the United States in mind as one of our core markets. We knew we wanted a partner who could conduct market validation from the US on top of the UI/UX capabilities we required.

We did a lot of online research and ended up on Clutch and selected a list of companies, one of which was Praxent. Based on collective feedback from some of our experienced, trusted contacts, we decided to reach out to Praxent at the start.

From the outset, the team was authentic and interested in shaping the engagement, so we decided to partner with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $80,000 on this engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together took place from September 2018–May 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The work Praxent did to validate our idea gave us the confidence to stay the course and build our solution. Now we have a final product that we’re working to make commercially viable.

Though our engagement with Praxent has ended, the initial work they did on the UI/UX components has laid the foundation for the capabilities our team has now.

We’re very happy with the output Praxent developed. We’ve tested it with a number of potential clients, and it still holds true.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Kelly was an excellent, communicative project manager. Our timeframe was very strict, and he did a great job of balancing deadlines while allowing space for us to brainstorm. He had a strong sense of ownership of the project, keeping us on schedule and contributing to content, workflow, and design.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We valued Praxent’s input greatly. Throughout the engagement, we looked forward to the collaborative discussions that took place between our two teams. We work completely remote and they were able to employ really effective tools, which made it easy to work together. We never felt like we were losing out because of the distance.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were very happy with the quality of their deliverables. The process flows, the prototype, and the design were all extremely high quality. However, the team could have improved the presentation of the competitive audit and user interview results.

They were detailed, but the team could have provided a version for us to present easily to senior management, board members, or potential investors. Despite that, we’re very happy overall with the quality of work Praxent produced.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know that the team is very responsive, flexible, and willing to change their approach according to your needs.

**The Review** — Feb 3, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent’s highly qualified team delivered actionable insights and secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions. The team communicated seamlessly and provided frequent updates. Internal stakeholders recognized the value of working with Praxent and plan to engage them for future projects.
"“They addressed all of the concerns we had.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of an AI solutions company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were looking for a company that could guide us in the transformation from our existing business model to a SaaS model.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

One of the first things we did was set up a workshop at our office. Praxent came in for a two-day workshop, during which we discussed the strategic points for moving to a SaaS business model.

Praxent guided us from the beginning, helping us in the initial stages of our SaaS strategy. They generated an outline of technical and non-technical aspects that we should address on the commercial, development, and organizational sides of our business. They reviewed our process and helped us define our MVP. They also advised how the architecture of the platform should look for the MVP and how it could grow and scale up in the future for more modules to be integrated into the platform.

They helped us with the design and some initial wireframes, but they didn’t do any development work. The team delivered initial wireframes that our UI/UX person was able to take to the next level. The plan is to engage them in the future.

What is the team composition?

They had a project manager, two UI/UX people, and a product architect.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We found Praxent on Clutch and really liked them. We had 3–4 candidates. We had a few Skype meetings with Praxent and then the initial workshop, and we knew they were a good fit for us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July–September 2019. They helped us with phase one, and our MVP is out there and ready. We’re in discussions with them for future steps.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our internal developers and designers would sit in on our weekly meetings to evaluate whether their insights were valuable to us. When we went to them with any architectural problems, we always had a proposed solution; once we got into discussions with them, we realized the value and advantage of working with Praxent. They proposed secure and scalable solutions that allow for a better user experience.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a few meetings per week to review designs with their architecture person. We didn’t do any formal metric tracking, but we knew from week to week exactly where they were and what the value was in their work.

Communication was right on point. They had many sessions with us and would suggest additional meetings to provide clarification or offer good points. They recorded all of our meetings and provided us with access to the recordings. Anytime we wanted to involve somebody else in the discussion, they were willing to onboard them. All of these aspects were managed pretty well. We had 1–2 weeks where the project manager had to leave for personal reasons, and they provided a replacement. We never felt there was any gap in the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Praxent has quality people and quality insights. They addressed all of the concerns we had.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, they could have done a better job of identifying internal gaps. They allocated a junior person to the project for UI/UX, and we ultimately got the results we wanted, but that process of adding a person to help create the wireframes could have happened sooner. There was a little bit of misunderstanding about the extent of their involvement; they were taking it very high level, but we wanted more actionable deliverables or certain wireframes to start building our own work from. That required a little bit of push from us, but, in the end, we got what we wanted.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a good workshop with them and a solid discussion so that you can agree on what the real need is for their services. This was very beneficial to us. Be specific about what you want from the start.

#### UI/UX Design for Energy Provider Portal
**The Project**

- Project length: Apr. 2019 - Jan. 2020

Senior Business Development Analyst, Energy Provider
- Industry: Energy & natural resources

- Client size: 11-50 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Jan 27, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The project was completely successful, overhauling the appearance and user flow of the portal and enabling a large-scale expansion of its features planned by the client. The Praxent team was thoughtful and flexible throughout, responding to all requests quickly and taking all feedback into account.
"“The flexibility and iterative process enabled by their culture made the whole project enjoyable from start to finish.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the head of business development, product strategy, and corporate strategy for the retail arm of an energy provider for industrial customers and consumers in the United States and Canada. We provide commodity services including electricity and natural gas.

In addition to providing a solutions-based approach to our customers energy consumption needs, we also have a trading arm that is active in the wholesale power and gas markets across the United States and Canada.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have an internally built customer-facing portal where our customers access data that’s related to their energy consumption and a few other tools. That portal needed to be overhauled in terms of its UX/UI to make it a little easier to use and a little more intuitive.

We were planning a larger brand evolution and wanted to get that out of the way before we started a larger strategic expansion of the platform itself.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Even though the platform itself was homegrown in terms of its functions, we worked with Praxent to really dig into and help us understand the psychological effects of the design and technologies that we were using, as well as how those were affecting the human interactions being driven through the platform.

We have a fairly unique position within the market, so their first task after we brought them on was really to try to understand our customers, and the from there they were able to take our existing platform, perform a true heuristics evaluation, and break down how it needed to be redesigned in a lot of different ways.

It was an in-depth, iterative process, so they would send us wireframes and we would offer suggestions from across our business to try to incorporate as many perspectives as possible. Then they would take our feedback and come back with more wireframes, and that would continue until we had a product that we were all really pleased with.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the designers and evaluators directly, but since the design was so technically focused, our IT team was closely involved in cooperating with them as well.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I found their team on Clutch, originally. The platform was incredibly helpful as a starting point for that search because I was just able to Google UX and design consultants and then look through different companies’ ratings.

Our North American operations are based in Houston, so when I saw that Praxent operated in Austin I was pretty excited about them because it would allow us to meet with them in person pretty easily if necessary. They participated in an RFP with two other companies, but they really stood out throughout the whole process.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together lasted from July 2019–January 2020, which was our intended length for the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They dug into both our work and our culture in order to provide a more thoughtful redesign of our platform, and that effort really paid off in the product that we got in the end. We were incredibly pleased with the work that they delivered, in large part I think because it reflected their dedication to our account and their desire to stand behind the quality of the final product.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

In my 3 years at EDF, I haven’t worked with a more responsive third-party vendor than Praxent. They’re not just responsive, they’re proactive, which was an incredible benefit to the engagement as a whole. They would come to me anticipating potential issues that we were able to tackle beforehand because of the thoughtfulness of their engagement.

There was a lot of open and honest feedback back and forth provided by both of our teams which really made us feel like partners together more than just parties in a transaction. Praxent also has a very organized, methodical method of tracking budgets and milestones that really sets them apart from other consultancies and helps them to keep everyone in the engagement satisfied.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think the most noteworthy thing that I found about working with Praxent is that they really listen to what you have to say. Most similar companies tend to pressure their clients into doing what they think is best by arguing that they’re the experts so you should listen to them, but their team understood that understanding what we do was the key to doing their job better. The flexibility and iterative process enabled by their culture made the whole project enjoyable from start to finish.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I honestly don’t have any negative comments on the engagement. They came in way under their forecasted budget, were on time with everything, and were always flexible, so we have nothing to complain about.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that no matter what you’re looking to do with Praxent, you’re open to having them come in and really understand your business. Our organization was really open to the effort that we were undertaking, so we had buy-ins from stakeholders across the business, but without that, it would have been much more difficult to establish the level of consensus of opinions that made our engagement with them as successful as it was.

"“Project management was very good. They delivered consistently on time and within budget.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an IT manager at Texas Mutual. We’re a workers’ compensation company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have a mobile application, and an external-facing website with a portal for our customers to log into. We had an initiative to improve customer experience on both of those applications and wanted to start an internal design and UX team. Our preexisting internal team didn’t have the resources to do it ourselves.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

At the beginning, Praxent augmented our UX team and helped them train. We shadowed their team in order to learn the skills we needed.

What is the team composition?

The team consisted of a project manager, a UX researcher, a designer, and a sales representative.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

A coworker on another team was looking for a UX partner as well. They thought that Praxent would be a better fit for our project, so they passed their contact information on to me.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $30,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from 2018–2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our UX team is up and running and is working every day to improve customer UX. Praxent trained us well and gave us all of the skills we need to be successful.

More of our customers are able to use our self-service, and we’ve experienced a 30% reduction in call volume. Our net promoter score has been fantastic since working with them—it’s about 80.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was very good. They delivered consistently on time and within budget. We used Jira and cloud to track tasks and stories. I wasn’t a big fan of a project manager that came on board later in our engagement, but all of their other employees were outstanding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their employees are great. They’re very skilled and they have excellent demeanors. They’re easy to get along with and they have a fantastic culture.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would tell them to make sure they continue to hire people that match their company culture.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure your people are involved with the project so you’re able to learn from their team on the day-to-day.

**The Review** — Jan 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: While the development is ongoing, the work thus far has exceeded the expectations of the internal team. Praxent communicates effectively with the client to ensure a successful and collaborative partnership. The team goes above and beyond to deliver quality products that meet the client's needs.
""They’ve blown us away with the design, and truly listened to what we and our customers said."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a home building company that’s been in business for 20 years. We do 500–600 homes a year, in Birmingham and Nashville, Alabama. I’m in charge of customer experience, including warranties and anything else that has to do with touching the customer.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have a design process by which customers come in to make all their selections. As you can imagine, it can be pretty overwhelming to build a house and select everything from flooring to paint and light fixtures. We currently have a book, and it’s a good-looking book, but some customers will still forget what they selected, and it’s hard to make decisions.

We wanted to create a program that allowed them to go online, make their selections at home, and play around with it more, so they could be more confident with their budgets and selections by the time they met with our designer.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent is developing a program that’s kind of a mix between Amazon and Pinterest. We’re in the final wireframing phase now. They’re only handling the design at the moment.

We have another system called Constellation, that’s entangled in all our business. Praxent is setting it up to talk to Constellation, so that all our selections are always up to date, with community-specific pricing and so on.

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Kelly (Client Partner, Praxent).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

Our IT person threw out three names, including Praxent. We went through a month of interviewing all of them, and Praxent was the one we unanimously decided to go with.

How much have you invested with them?

The full project will cost about $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Praxent began in November 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Praxent gives us weekly updates, so we always know where we are. They’ve always hit their dates and goals. They’re fantastic. Kelly and her team are great.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

I couldn’t have asked for better communication, and the project is exactly what we were expecting it to be. They’ve blown us away with the design, and truly listened to what we and our customers said. It’s a great product that they’re rolling out. It’s going to be a huge game-changer for our company.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’m beyond pleased.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d recommend Praxent to anyone.

**Feedback Summary**: Stakeholders anticipate the visual appeal of the new designs to be above and beyond the current product. Praxent has maintained a concise, clear communication style throughout the engagement. Their expertise allows them to provide useful insight, and their detail-orientation stands out.
""Their synergy as a team is fantastic — truly is exponential in comparison to others."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the senior vice president of strategy for Benefit Harbor. We are a digital technology platform providing employee benefits for employer groups. We aggregate employee benefits for employers to offer to their employees and for employees to self-serve the administration and election of their benefits.

My role is to map out the overall business strategy for the next one to three years. I make sure that we are headed in the right direction from an industry, profitability, and sustainability standpoint.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We engaged Praxent to help us create a modern and attractive UI and UX for our employee self-serve client portals.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our first phase was research, and Praxent was tremendously helpful in pulling together competitive reviews, industry reviews, and information that pertains to the best practices for UI/UX.

They did research to determine what we currently have in place and what we want our future stage to look like. We created a customer roadmap, and now we’re working on the wireframes. We’re in the process of doing internal and external interviews to get their feedback, and then we’ll have a second review.

Once we complete that, we will go from our low fidelity wireframes into a more high-fidelity wireframe, and we will add more graphics and colors. Once that is done, they will actually provide us with the design elements that we need for our internal developers to create the frontend of our backend system.

What is the team composition?

We chose them because of the team they brought to the table. It would be impossible to hire someone that has the breadth of knowledge that this team has.

We have people who are designers, project managers, interviewing specialists, research specialists, as well as best practice specialists.
How did you come to work with Praxent?

When I was doing my research, we looked at Clutch and the top 15 UX and UI agencies in 2018. I interviewed about six vendors based on what I found on Clutch, and Praxent was head and shoulders above the others that I interviewed.

I signed an NDA with each of the six vendors, went through a discovery call, and provided them with a demo link to our site. We asked them to go through that site with no instructions or assistance from us so they would have the same experience as our end-users.

We asked them to provide us with a presentation giving the highs and lows of what they see on the site. Praxent was by far the most thorough and most prepared.

How much have you invested in them?

We have invested around just shy of $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in August of 2019, and the work is still ongoing.
We started with a 12-week research phase, and when that was up, then we started the design phase, which is projected to go through to the end of March or April. Following that, our third phase will be an ongoing upkeep phase.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As far as quantitative metrics, we don’t know yet because we haven’t released our new UI/UX. I would be surprised if, in the first 12 months, we didn’t have at least a two to one ROI.

In fact, it will likely be better than that because our UX was really bland before this. Now, it is legitimately night and day. When the UI/UX is released, it will absolutely be a completely new experience that will be worlds better.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

I cannot say enough good things about their project management, reporting, and communication. We’ve had a great amount of input into the process, which I have really appreciated.

As we go through the project, they make sure I’m fully aware of everything they are working on, everything that is expected of me, and all the required resource planning.

They are believers in overcommunicating, even on sensitive things. They make sure they are bringing their expertise to the table for exactly what we have hired them to do. If I decide I need to cut a corner or take a different path, they make sure that I am thinking through all the potential risks.

Outside of that, we have a weekly project meeting where I know exactly where I stand on the budget and completion of the project. They do a great job of making sure that there is never a question of where you are in the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their two high points for me are the synergy and preparation they bring to the project. Their synergy as a team is fantastic — truly is exponential in comparison to others. The other impressive thing would be their preparation.

They are always prepared in advance with great detail, but also a great amount of simplicity. They are very concise in what they provide you and the direction is always very clear.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been helpful to have a discussion earlier in the process around systemic alignment. They work on Apple, and we work on Windows. Now that we are further along in the process, we are finding there will be a bit of a translation issue with the design elements. They are doing the work using Sketch, and we are doing it in Adobe. If we had been aware of it months ago, we might have been able to take steps to avoid that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to them when they tell you there are potential pitfalls. They have been right every time, and they have been very helpful.

Outside of that, don’t shortchange yourself. If you are really going in on a project, go all in and get what you know you need. Fully utilize the team as a resource.

Initially, we decided on less research than our initial plans. But, after talking it through, we had decided to go with the full research method. Those 12 weeks made a huge difference for us. We felt good about the preparation we brought to the project.

**The Review** — Jan 21, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent successfully executed a platform that’s automated many processes, enabling the client to run a much leaner team. The new product has also drastically reduced user errors. While communication was slightly bumpy in the beginning, the team’s organization and positivity were stellar.
""How their company is structured—and in particular, their sense of community—was imbued with positivity."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of operations for a travel management company. We specialize in finding lodging for members of hardhat industries—like construction crews and oilfield workers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

In addition to belonging to a niche market, our company is in a unique position because the majority of our reservations don’t go as planned. We needed a flexible reservation system that could handle everything booking to billing while being receptive to last-minute changes and variations.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent developed a booking platform from scratch. The website allows permissions for not only our employees but our clients and vendor partners, so they can access the site to manage reservations. It’s a dynamic platform that provides CRM, account management, and a billing system, all in one.

They utilized Python, Flask, and SQL Alchemy on the backend. Other technologies they used included Heroku, AWS, and PostgrSWL.

What is the team composition?

We initially interfaced with a project manager who managed a team. There were quite a few working on the platform at any given time, but as we became more fluid in our communication, we eventually worked primarily with one developer and a QA analyst.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We were working for a local provider, because we anticipated that it would be a very interactive project. Our initial impressions of their website and their professional presentation had a large impact on our decision to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We first started working with them in July of 2017, and we’re wrapping up the project soon.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve spent somewhere between $1.5–$2 million dollars.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re now able to run a much leaner team because the platform has automated many of our administrative processes. While we don’t have hard numbers at hand, the amount of user errors that people experience has been drastically reduced.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We somewhat struggled with the communication in the beginning, and after working together for some time, both of our teams realized that our collaboration was lacking. We then implemented in-person meetings, which significantly improved our engagement.

After everyone was on the same page, we were able to increase velocity and reduce the number of team members on their end. Their methods of communication and use of project management tools, like JIRA, were very streamlined. We’ve taken note of their communication processes and successfully implemented them in our own team, which was a major takeaway.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We stood to learn a lot from them, beyond the product that we were paying for. How their company is structured—and in particular, their sense of community—was imbued with positivity. They were well-organized and well-spoken. Interacting with such a company really made for a positive engagement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would encourage them to improve their onboarding processing for new clients. They could work to achieve effective communication before jumping into the logistical or technical side of the project. They should ensure that the project manager they choose is a good fit, both in terms of personality and communication, for that specific customer.

I’d also urge them to properly introduce JIRA to their clients. While Praxent might be used to the tool, a newcomer might not be familiar with it. It was a big learning curve for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d encourage prospective clients to gain an extremely clear understanding of the project at hand. Don’t be afraid to ask questions along the way. If you’re a prospective client, make sure to do some research and get caught up on some of the language that you’ll be using.

**The Review** — Jan 17, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The app has successfully launched globally, and it's being used by all internal teammates. It provides essential information that's integral to the continuous improvement of retail processes. The team's flexibility, transparent communication, and deadline-orientation were appreciated.
""They helped us build a tool more focused on what we actually needed versus what we originally wanted."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the sales manager for a protein snack company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were trying to understand how to evaluate our retail operations, and we need help building an app to do this.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with them to develop an iOS and Android app that would allow any team member to do an evaluation of our retail execution. It started off as a pen and paper concept.

We tried to leverage the fact that everyone has a mobile device and then tried to create the easiest, most simple app possible. We trusted that they would use the top, best in class platforms. They went with what we drew and built it from there.

The app incorporates geolocation. Using this feature, we are able to review how the shelf looks and if we’re getting the proper placement and fill rates. These “store checks” get uploaded straight into the cloud. Then, we can review them through an access portal.

Tagging features allow us to start identifying different issues or metrics at the point of retail. We also trained a machine learning model so we could see if we’ve achieved our goals as a sales organization. The machine learning model runs every night, and it takes all the executions of retail and it decides whether it’s compliant with our initiative and mission that we have.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a dozen people at one point. In the beginning, there was a lot of heavy lifting, and then it got scaled back to two to three folks working on the project.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I went through a pretty heavy RFP process and vetted out a lot of different vendors.

I liked Praxent because the majority of their team was developing products in-house and in-country.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018, and the work is ongoing. We still turn to them for a lot of support on this app.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They helped us build a tool more focused on what we actually needed versus what we originally wanted. We’ve launched the app globally within our organization, and all teammates use it.

We’ve been able to create a network of information about how retail is being executed on a global scale. At any time, we can go into this platform and time travel anywhere around the world.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done an excellent job of working around my personal hectic schedule of work. It didn’t matter where I was, they were always flexible and understanding.

The planning process was very thorough. We did several in-house meetings and a lot of brainstorming. They came back with an excellent scope that was within our budget.

Also, they kept up with deadlines and expectations. They always monitored to see if something was out of scope. There were no surprises. Everything was communicated well to us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team displayed hospitality and patience. They really did a lot of handholding and walked us through the process since it’s a different type of technology. I was very pleased through the entire process.

There were points where we didn’t agree on things, but they saw the long-term relationship and not just the short-term results. We’ve decided to develop more work with them because of the relationship we have with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They only use Slack, email, and their work phone for communication. But, I’m so used to using WhatsApp. This was definitely an inconvenience at times, but I got used to using Slack.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re looking for a cheap vendor, don’t go with Praxent. If you’re looking for the best, they’re definitely the best.

It comes down to how you define your ROI and what kind of product you want. We wanted something that would function no matter what, and we intensively bug tested it. Pricing-wise, there are much more competitive bids, but they didn’t have the history or the recommendations that Praxent had.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent satisfied the requirements by executing a third-party review on time and within budget. Internal stakeholders have incorporated many of Praxent’s UI/UX suggestions into the product’s customer interface. The team managed the project and objectives well.
"“I found that they delivered on what they said they would deliver on.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Austin Capital Bank. We have a FinTech division, which is what we engaged Praxent regarding.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We have a software platform that powers a financial service product, which we have on the market. We hired Praxent to review the platform and its UI/UX.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent reviewed our product and verified that the platform was scalable, well-designed, and well-architected. They also provided a host of beneficial and useful UI/UX recommendations.

What is the team composition?

Our product manager was Kelly (Client Partner, Praxent).

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I’ve known Tim (CEO, Praxent) for years; we’re in EO together. We interviewed a couple of different companies and went through their proposals before settling on Praxent.

How much have you invested with them?

My company spent $40,000–$60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June–August 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We wanted to have a third-party opinion that what we’d built was indeed well-architected and scalable, and Praxent provided us with that independent verification. They also had really good UI/UX suggestions and feedback, a lot of which we’ve incorporated into our product’s customer interface.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a very well managed project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found that they delivered on what they said they would deliver on.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Praxent met the needs of the engagement. They did what they said they were going to do in the agreed-upon timeframe and budget, which was great.

Any advice for potential customers?

Clearly define the objectives and the timeline upfront. If you do that, they will manage those objectives.

**The Review** — Oct 3, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: After being built by an outside vendor, the concept created by Praxent was launched, benefitting the nonprofit. All feedback has been positive. Their team is responsive, organized, and supportive. Their seamless workflow complemented their exceptional professional management style.
""I was incredibly impressed with their organization."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the community partnerships manager at the world’s largest nonprofit breast milk bank in Austin, Texas. I manage the marketing strategy within the organization. I think about ways to expose our work to new audiences and ways to motivate donors.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

There was low awareness in our area, and we were having trouble receiving support from mothers that could potentially donate. We approached Praxent with our idea, sharing data about why and how people support our nonprofit. We asked them to find a creative solution to expand that number and increase our success locally.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent completed a design sprint for us. In six days, four members of our team worked with five from theirs. The first few days were spent in a room for seven or eight hours a day. Our teams brainstormed creative solutions for our problem, thinking about the big picture.

After that, their team worked independently for two days to develop a prototype. We had talked about different ways to get the word out to mothers within the community about our needs. Our teams agreed upon a mobile solution that offered a two-minute quiz that users could take at home. The quiz tested if a user was a good fit donor, while also relaying information about our work. The two-minute quiz was then tested on day four with five users.

On the final day, the team at Praxent shared the results, making their final recommendations for how we move forward as an organization.

What is the team composition?

We had designers, strategists, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

Their team actually reached out to us. We entered a summer program through a design school here in Austin that was offering to complete pro bono work for nonprofits. While we weren’t selected, one of the leaders at Praxent heard about our work through the application process and wanted to offer support.

After he received permission from other leadership, they offered the design sprint pro bono. We had a couple of exploratory calls where it offered to me that they were offering real value. Compared to other agencies I’ve worked with, the team at Praxent didn’t plan on wasting our time with testing new ideas and staffers. While their design sprint system was new, it was completely fleshed out. We were happy to accept their offer.

How much have you invested with them?

It was done pro bono, but we would’ve spent around $41,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Praxent took place in July 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The prototype received positive feedback. Everyone from our side that participated even came back to the office with pages of new ideas. Some of which we implemented the right way. Most importantly, our team agreed that the prototype was worth investing in.

After the design sprint, we engaged with another vendor to build the solution from scratch. It launched a few weeks ago. We’re currently promoting it through digital ads and tracking the results through Google Analytics. Initial results have been positive. We’re tweaking the wording and ad targeting, but the click-through-rates have been high. People aren’t leaving the quiz right away. About 10% of users are contacting the milk bank and asking to become a donor, which was the ultimate goal.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was one of their strongest areas. I’ve worked with a lot of projects and have even been one on a few projects. I was incredibly impressed with their organization. Their team is intentional and thoughtful about time and activities.

The assigned project manager seamlessly led us from one activity to another, looking at the problem with potential solutions our staff never considered. Not to mention, they walked us through two long and intensive days in a conference room. The days never felt long or dragged. Our time was used effectively.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aside from project management, the design sprint that their team curated in-house is higher quality than similar efforts I’ve done with other agencies. Each activity is thoughtfully-designed to get people to think outside the box. We didn’t look for the easiest solution but found new questions to ask and new ways to answer those questions. This is ultimately how we came up with an idea that has effectively benefitted our organization.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, no. I wish that they were more reasonably-priced, so we could afford them regularly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend engaging with Praxent, but only if your team is ready to dedicate time and think outside of the box. The client needs to bring decision-makers to the table, for it to be effective. The decision-makers need to be engaged, focused, and creative. They also need to be willing to be questioned and communicate what they don’t know.

Executive Director, KW Kids Can

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Oct 2, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent delivered a fully functional platform that successfully completed the complex project requirements. The system services 11,500 students. While they were quite costly, the workflow was effective and they did a great job of following the requirements.
""I like that they’re honest and candid."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the former executive director at Keller Williams Kids Can, a national nonprofit educational organization.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We needed scalability for our new educational program. Our team needed to be able to educate and onboard our volunteer trainers. We wanted to provide a tool for them to create events, generate marketing pieces, register, and make orders to deliver materials. This digital system would do as much of the work as possible. Nothing in the marketplace was adequate for the complexities of our specific strategy of digital delivery.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided full-scale development from the frontend consumer interface to the backend. They built a technology platform from scratch. The core function is an event management system. However, it doesn’t only organize events, it also allows us to onboard the volunteer trainers from all over the country. Many of the students enrolling were under 18, so it was typically the parents who were doing enrolling and donations. We needed a system that could handle the many variables. Sometimes a student would book the event and sometimes the parent would do it for them. Sometimes somebody else would donate to cover the expenses for others, or just donate outright. Because of these moving parts, Praxent developed a custom solution in Symfony for us.

Uniquely, all of the trainers were Keller Williams agents. They built a gateway for prospective trainers to accept the role, watch training videos, and read and download materials. Upon completion, they were able to create their own event and sent it out to the general public, and students could register and donate on that link. The platform needed video integration. It also had a very versatile database that we could make available to any trainer so that they could download the training materials, documents, and PowerPoints. We were also able to categorize the system—if you wanted to teach high school, you could go into the high school section. There was also a location for students where they could see the videos and other content.

What is the team composition?

There were 4–5 people at peak moments. After we got past the first release, we were able to trim that down. They were very flexible. When we needed more people, they were able to bring people in. They also worked with us to manage expenses.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I called around to people that I knew. I met Kevin (Managing Partner, Praxent) and I liked him because he was able to speak my language as an entrepreneur and as a non-technology person. He really understood what I wanted to do. He was also able to communicate with our technical team. I then met their team and they listened to what I wanted. They brought back a presentation and how much it was going to cost. Even though they weren’t the lowest, I chose them because of their understanding of the vision of where we were going.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $500,000 in about 24 months of working with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2015 and the work is ongoing, though now is more maintenance. We created the original platform to easily accept a new curriculum, new phases without any substantial investment.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The platform pretty much managed everything. Events could be started and people would be getting trained and thousands of kids being taught all over the country. The platform also continued to have onboarding for instructors. The website automatically delivered materials. Very little hands-on work was needed.

While we were building the first iteration of the website, we were still designing the content. When we fully launched in September 2015, we had zero trainers at that moment. Within 1.5 years, we had 380 trainers and taught over 11,500 students. They’re still using the platform now and have added new curricula and events tools. After I left, KW Kids Can had only one employee running the entire system by herself for a year, proving that we could deliver an educational product across the country with minimal labor.

They added a few really cool features since I’ve been gone, and I'm very proud of what we built. It’s an excellent platform that allows them to run the business with minimal human interaction in the system, educate young people all over the country, raise money, and communicate the message of unlimited potential.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a few hiccups here and there because we were moving very fast. There were times I needed them to slow down to manage the expenses, giving us time to determine our immediate goals as it relates to the site. We had a high level of conversation to make sure we were in the right spot. They used a system that allowed them to say where they were at and what they got done today. Quarterly, we’d look at everything that was on the roadmap and decide when it’s a deliverable and when it has to be done.

They were really good at prioritizing and getting things put in the right place. They were also able to tell us what would take longer than other tasks. They offered to put another person on it or we could wait an extra month. They were also really good at navigating speed versus investment. There were things we had to redo because maybe they didn’t come out exactly the way we planned it, but that’s normal when building something that intricate and large. Most of that was cosmetic and not operational or process-oriented. I have pretty high standards and I was completely happy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They did a really good job of listening when I had something to say. I’m not a technical guy, so I talked to their project manager about what I want. If I needed to be really clear about the expense versus the deliverables, they did a good job of interpreting that and really meeting me in a place where we needed to be. I liked that they’re honest and candid. I’d rather work with someone who tells me the truth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning, they had some communication processes that I felt took up a lot of time. They had meetings where there were three people in their office talking to us for an hour. At $180 per hour per person can be very expensive. After a few weeks of that, I talked to them about it. They came up with a different process that worked better for me. However, they weren’t ready to shift into that other process until I flexed a little muscle and told them I needed them to do it. I respect the fact that there were some things they didn’t want to change. Eventually, there are some things they were willing to change because it made sense after they heard me out. Eventually, we really ironed it all out and got moving very well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear upfront. They’re not cheap, but they’re very good. Take your time. Before signing the contract, be willing to really get clear about what you want. After they present it to you, take a step back and make sure that’s what you want. Once we got going, we were going full blast.

They proved to be a true partner, concerned with the success of the project.
"“They’re  honest, technically strong with backend development, and always deliver strong results.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of a firm in the reproductive technology space focusing some of our attention on software. We’re the preferred software solutions provider in the fertility industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were trying to identify a partner with experience in our space and complying with regulations. For our backend development project, we needed someone with solid tech skills.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed the backend of a development project, providing us with documentation and fully-functioning code at the end of the engagement.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the managing director, a backend developer, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

For the past 15 years, I’ve been working with development shops across the country, so I’m good at identifying strong talent and partners. I interviewed many shops and decided Praxent was easily one of the strongest for backend development. That encouraged me to hire them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2019, and our work with them is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Between the quality of their work and the ease of collaboration, the team did a fantastic job. In my 15 years of experience, they’re one of the top firms I’ve dealt with. However, it’s too early to give any specific metrics at this point.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their managing director and backend developer were major strengths. The project manager was also very on top of things and provided us with good documentation. The team was great about following up in real time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re honest, technically strong with backend development, and always deliver strong results. Praxent impressed me so much that I referred them to a friend how runs a very large company. While I can only speak to their backend work, I know they’re credible, reliable people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There isn’t anything I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them as a partner instead of a service provider. Make sure to stay open to feedback because they bring a lot to the table.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent has received very positive internal feedback on the first phase of development. They’ve consistently taken the client’s feedback into account when making changes to the portal design, while keeping the deliverables well within the timeline and budget.
"“Praxent consistently finds solutions that keep us on schedule and within our budget.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the strategic marketing project coordinator for the top reverse mortgage subservicer in the country.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

Our company services over 30 mortgage lenders and reverse mortgage lenders. Praxent was tasked with designing a customer portal to give our borrowers more access to their own accounts. That way, we’d avoid overwhelming the call center.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The average age of our lenders is 75, so we wanted to make sure that we create a platform that they could easily navigate. Praxent helped us talk through what features our borrowers would most likely use and how much information should be provided. We discussed how to meet the needs of our unique borrowers while staying within our set budget and timeline. Since, we’ve developed the design and agreed on all the features for the first round of development.

We want to onboard our new CIO before jumping into the backend plans. But, we’re pretty set on which technologies we’ll be using, so Praxent will be helping us kick off development pretty soon.

What is the team composition?

So far, we’ve worked with five or six of their team members, including Deana (Principal Product Strategy, Praxent) and Kelly (Senior Delivery Lead, Praxent). There’s also a technology architect, 2–3 designers, and a couple of backend architecture professionals.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I worked with them in a prior role at a different company and knew they’d be a good fit when our IT department found them again. They built a portal for my other company in the past, so I was confident that they could offer the best solution this time. We liked that they were local, but their approach to development and team structure was most important to us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $50,000 in the first phase of development with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the project in March 2019, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Metrics won’t come until after development, but everyone here has been very pleased with their work. As part of Praxent’s process, they provide a click model in the first phase, which is essentially a shell showing how the finished portal will look and feel. We’ve circulated that here, and everybody is excited about moving into development with it.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re the easiest company we’ve ever worked with. The whole team is always in sync and easily stays on top of our tight timeline and budget. There have been no surprises whatsoever.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’ve always listened to our feedback, incorporating minor changes and suggestions into their work. Even given the adjustments, Praxent consistently finds solutions that keep us on schedule and within our budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re really satisfied with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come in with as many questions and ideas as you can. Then, rely on their expertise to help weed through it all.

Greg Stewart (COO): I’m the COO of a startup called Bungalo, which is part of a larger business called Amherst Residential. Amherst partners with institutional investors, helping them buy, rehabilitate, and manage single-family homes across the country. Within their organization, Bungalo sells high-quality pre-owned homes directly to homebuyers.

Ben Gammon (VP of Product): I’m the VP of product.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

GS: Amherst had a lot a useful infrastructure geared toward buying and maintaining real estate for institutional investors. However, they lacked the experience to translate that into a consumer product. We wanted to leverage their technology to create a web platform that catered to homebuyers. Our goal was to make it as easy as possible to purchase a single-family home through our software.

BG: I joined the team along with our other co-head of product to design the platform, but we didn’t have any internal engineers to handle the build at the time. So, we conducted an extensive RFP to find a local partner that could support the development for the first phase of our web platform from scratch. We wanted a team that could work in the trenches with us on a day-to-day basis.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

BG: Our product consists of two sides: a listing platform that showcases refurbished homes and a transaction platform that provides consumers all the necessary tools to traverse the homebuying process. With our software, users can purchase a home online from start to finish in a fast, seamless way.

GS: Initially, we spent a lot of time mapping out the consumer pain points when buying a home, outlining the products and services we wanted to create in response. With that research, Praxent worked with us to scope the project and prioritize the tasks involved. We knew we wanted to get a product to market within six months, so they helped us narrow down our requirement list to the most impactful core features.

Once we established the technical details, their engineering team created a prototype for internal stakeholders to review. We also tested it with the market, collecting feedback from both prospective and existing homebuyers. Then, the team locked down the product and built the first phase of our platform from scratch.

BG: There were numerous moving parts; it’s a complex product that draws data from legacy technology, including internal sales and marketing enablement tools that needed to speak with the new platform. Additionally, we engaged an external branding agency to design the site while simultaneously establishing an in-house engineering team. Praxent navigated between all parties, keeping us focused on our top priorities and delivering the product within schedule.

What is the team composition?

BG: Praxent knew from experience exactly what resources we needed to achieve our goals. They assembled a flexible team with complementary skills, including a project manager, a UX/UI specialist, four frontend developers, two backend developers, and a team of product owners.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

GS: We were looking for a local development firm that specialized in consumer-facing software. Not only did the team need to be big enough to support growth throughout the engagement, but they also had to have completed an equally complex and relevant project. Since we’d already put together an extensive list of how the platform might look, we wanted to understand how a vendor would prototype and execute our product.

Out of all of the candidates, Praxent stood out by far. They were invested in the pitch process and brought strong presentation materials outlining their approach. It was a thoughtful solution that was customized to our goals.

BG: Not to mention, they had rave client reviews and highly relevant experiences. I appreciated how they drew parallels from their past work with what we were trying to accomplish. Since we wanted to use the existing Amherst infrastructure to create a new platform, it was great that they could accommodate both tech stacks.

What is the status of this engagement?

GS: We started working with them towards the end of Q4 2017. By March 2018, we completed the prototype and launched the platform by mid-July 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

GS: It was a fairly elaborate engagement, and I have nothing but praise for Praxent. Since going live, we’ve sold five homes with the platform, and five clients have given us perfect Net Promoter scores (NPS). It seems our product is resonating with our consumers.

From a quality perspective, the system hasn’t experienced any downtime nor major issues. We caught all the minor bugs during the QA process, so there haven’t been any surprises post-launch. Recently, we’ve hired a senior CTO, a head of engineering, and a head of QA who have all been impressed by the quality of the platform.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

GS: Considering all the moving parts, this was a project management masterpiece. Besides our group, there were other internal tech teams, outside consultants and branding agencies, and a new engineering team who were touching the project on a daily basis. Praxent did a great job of keeping us organized.

Every week, they gave us an updated dashboard about how many hours they’d spent, if we were on track, and where we were at risk. Not only did this ensure a transparent process, but it also allowed us to effectively budget our expectations. We assigned story points to each feature, looking at the effort involved at a granular level and translating them into monetary terms. It was a tough task, but they were mindful of our threshold and managed to deliver under budget.

BG: We developed a strong rapport, too, particularly with their product owner who was the liaison between our teams. He had both the technical ability to manage their developers and the foresight to keep to timelines. We’re looking to emulate that role internally because we had such great success with their project management. In addition to coming up with unique budgeting methods, they made sure that we followed agile scrum rituals, using modern day tools such as Jira and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

BG: The body of work they produced under our circumstances was no joke; they did a fantastic job. Although we had so many stakeholders with varying cultures and priorities, Praxent’s team was helpful in mediating between our partners. They displayed a nuanced project management approach and made sure that we got what we needed. They’re a growing business that exerts a high level of professionalism.

GS: They were critical in getting our product out on time, and I never had to guess about project status. If we had any concerns, their senior-level staff responded promptly, remaining open to constructive criticism. It always felt like they were working in our best interests.

Are there any areas they could improve?

GS: No, nothing specific stands out. There are always challenges on projects of this magnitude, but we would resolve everything together. They really felt like part of the team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

BG: If you have a clear understanding of what your objectives are and what kind of output you're seeking, then Praxent is the right group to reach out to. They can fulfill any role needed to execute the project, providing a small, nimble team or scaling up as necessary.

**The Review** — Oct 22, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent delivered an award-winning website that receives praise from industry professionals and internal department leaders. The updated platform is aesthetically pleasing and consists of intuitive backend templates. Their talented developers enjoy what they do and provide creative solutions.
"“They’re a responsive and thoughtful team.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the creative services and web director for a professional liability insurance provider.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We initially hired Praxent to transform our website into a Drupal-based platform that’s responsive on mobile devices.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent started the project by collaborating with myself and our senior web designer to assess our needs regarding the new website. That process included figuring out how to make a responsive site that’s also easy for our internal team to manage. After an internal change in direction on content management systems, our company decided to switch the website over to Hubspot.

Praxent understood the shift and worked thoughtfully to restructure the website's code and delivered the necessary backend templates. Using the wireframes we developed with their help, they accommodated our requirements and implemented the site’s UI/UX. They ran productive brainstorming sessions and often convinced us to approach challenges with new strategies. They helped us rethink our navigation system and adapted it to a mobile responsive environment. Now, our interface is presented beautifully across both desktop and mobile.

What is the team composition?

We mostly communicated with Tim (CEO, Praxent), an assigned project manager, and one developer.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

They’d done work for us before I was a part of the company. Having heard positive things about them, I reached out once we started looking for potential partners. Tim has a compelling story to tell and quickly responded to my inquiry. Considering his team had been previously vetted by the company, hiring them was an easy decision.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our involvement with them took place from January 2015–2016. The entire project took about a year to complete.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our corporate website was presented with an award by an industry group. We were one of the first companies within our industry to create a wholly responsive website. While the site functions as more of a brochure than a lead generation tool, Praxent’s work seemed to cause an increase in page views. That wasn’t one of our specified goals, but it’s a nice bonus. The finished product received positive feedback from multiple department heads regarding its attractive design.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project manager is wonderful. He kept us up-to-date regarding the project’s progression and ran efficient meetings. We ended up having quite a friendly relationship with their team. We looked forward to calls with them and always felt like each party communicated steps to push the engagement forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We appreciate their openness and dedication to pushing us in new directions. Praxent started the project by understanding our goals and letting industry-specific challenges inform their design decisions. They’re a responsive and thoughtful team. Also, we enjoy working with them because they take pride in each project as if it was their own. They care about their clients more than other vendors I’ve hired in the past.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their project manager struggled to coordinate some things, but that was a small issue overall. We were going through processes internally that likely kept us from communicating as thoroughly as we should have. However, the project wasn’t slowed down or hindered in a meaningful way.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re willing to have fun and engaging conversations about how to improve businesses. Tim is passionate about learning the reasons why people build things, and I find that valuable. Future clients should keep in mind that their approach to challenges sets them apart from similar vendors.

**Feedback Summary**: The in-house team is happy with the designs and plans to work with Praxent on the implementation. Experienced and knowledgeable, Praxent met all needs, while their recommendation to change the original prototype and build a new platform prevented unnecessary expense.
"“They're innovative and think outside the box. … They exceeded our expectations.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder of Senior Living Search. We're a placement firm for seniors that helps them find a retirement or nursing home.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were doing due diligence and we needed a company to build a platform for us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built a lead generation and booking platform to help us manage inbound leads and track them all the way to placement into a senior living community. Initially, we were looking at doing disruptive marketing, but Praxent recommended that we didn't go that route. They built a different platform from what we initially planned, which saved our company. It's a workable demonstration platform that we can use as a template. They're very insightful and methodical in what they do.

What is the team composition?

We mostly worked with a project manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I met Tim Hamilton (Founder, Praxent) through The Entrepreneurs' Organization in Austin. Several other members recommended him to me as a fantastic professional.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $20,000–$25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I worked with them between July–October 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They exceeded our expectations. Their work is exemplary and their designs are well thought-out. When we decide to launch the platform, we plan to engage them again to do the final pieces.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very professional. They're the only company I've worked with in the past 20 years that met all of my criteria for integrity. They fulfilled all their obligations, staying on time and on budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're innovative and think outside the box. They came up with great ideas for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. It was a great experience all the way through.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They'll take you outside of what you know about your product and enhance your ability to have a better vision.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Oct 2, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Although the engagement ended before the development of a full product, Praxent proved to be a valuable partner. The team exhibited a passion for the project and the ways it could address an ethical issue. They are organized and willing to learn, making them an ideal option for technology needs.
""... I gathered that they were genuinely passionate about helping people fix a problem."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the founder of Unirithm. We provide automated decision making for the industrial laundry sector, specifically in the invoice-to-pay function.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

I had identified a problem in the industry that I thought could be addressed through an app or some sort of tracking software. I engaged with Praxent to validate that this problem actually existed and then develop a prototype that could be used to address it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

In essence, the prototype included 15–20 screens on a mobile device that presented several use cases for the customer. For example, one function shows that the app can be used to point out discrepancies between what a vendor puts on an invoice and what services are actually occurring. Once completed, Praxent arranged several potential buyers to gauge their need in such a product. While many were originally hesitant to believe that this problem, and others, was occurring, they were much more open to the possibility when shown the use case in the application.

What is the team composition?

I worked with the CEO, a managing partner, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I found Praxent on Clutch’s website. I met with three agencies, but Praxent proved to the best at listening to the problem and finding the details of how it could be solved. I know every firm has to make a sales pitch, but there was a genuine feeling with Praxent that they were engaging with my passion to solve this problem.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent between $10,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from September–November 2017. Their team developed a brilliant product, and I wanted to move forward to develop the first technical piece of the solution, but it was too expensive. It was a reasonable price, but with my single-person startup budget, I couldn’t make it work. I ended up going elsewhere for the technical solution. However, I look forward to working with Praxent again.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Most of our research subjects held the disposition that either these industry problems didn’t apply to them or they would find a way to address the problems themselves. Once the click-through prototype was introduced, the entire panel changed their minds. They realized that the prototype was revealing information that they could not otherwise get.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They adhered well to our timeline. I don’t think they ever missed a date. Overall, they communicated really well. Not long after the engagement started, they had a strong grasp of the industry vernacular I was bringing to the project. Being able to discuss the problem and solution through that language was advantageous.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I know that they're in business to make money. Still, I gathered that they were genuinely passionate about helping people fix a problem. They wanted to facilitate my ability to help businesses reduce their costs and have a better relationship with their vendor. I thought they identified that this was an ethical issue, and it resonated with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Considering that we’re working with a deep niche—industrial laundry—I think they did a good job of finding a sample of customers that could use this product. However, I wish they could have found more. We agreed that I wouldn’t be involved in that so that my bias wouldn’t cloud the research findings. To their credit, they found a good representation of consumers, but I wish we could have found more.

Any advice for potential customers?

When you first engage them, don’t worry about the solution. Don’t talk about your vision for the solution. Focus instead on the business problem and rely on Praxent to ask the right questions. From that, the solution will become more clear.

**Feedback Summary**: With innovative features and a durable infrastructure, it’s not surprising that users are switching over to the online tool. Praxent’s amazing team was the project’s greatest asset. Although their time management skills are questionable, the outstanding quality of their work is indisputable.
"“They made it clear that our needs were their top priority.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a principal owner of an economic consulting company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We wanted to build an online replica of our fiscal reporting spreadsheet.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Praxent used our existing Excel spreadsheets as a model to develop a web app with a UX optimized design and customizable admin features. Their team worked on everything from wireframing to front- and backend development.

What is the team composition?

We communicated with their founder during the bidding process, but one of their project managers assumed the liaison role during the development stages.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

They were one of the four local web developers that we reached out to. Their willingness to learn about our business greatly influenced our hiring decision.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project commenced in the fall of 2013 and concluded in May 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Before we built the website, 30 of our clients were using the desktop tool to generate their financial reports. Now, more than 50 clients have upgraded to the online version. We’ve added a lot of new features to the platform, but its well-designed backend is still operating flawlessly.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Although they worked at a slow pace, their management skills were satisfactory. They were excellent at keeping us informed during the biweekly meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Praxent’s fantastic team made the daunting project a pleasurable experience. They made it clear that our needs were their top priority.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The Pivotal Tracker software that they used to manage the project was too unreliable to keep track of their process. They should consider adopting new software that provides accurate status updates.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clearly defined business goals are the key to success when working with Praxent.

"“They worked fast and got an amazing amount of work done in a very short period of time.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of Keller Mortgage. We're an auxiliary business to Keller Williams, the largest real estate company in the world. We mostly work with Keller Williams agents and help their buyers obtain low-cost mortgages to buy homes.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were having trouble with both functionality and user experience of our online platform, so we were looking for a company to help us fix those issues. Also, our access to mortgage is through the Keller Williams smartphones. They press a button and it goes to our technology. We were trying to build that technology ourselves, but we realized we needed a professional company to build an app that would be superior in functionality and design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Their development team did research and created mock-ups that had to be approved by our owners. Then, they wrote the code for the web application and implemented it. Keller Williams has many agencies and buyers that are looking for deals and loans, so we needed an app that was visually pleasing and worked well. Also, we were on a tight deadline. Praxent met all of our needs and created a wonderful user experience in a very short time.

What is the team composition?

I mostly worked with Kevin (CEO, Praxent) who had a team underneath him.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We were referred to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $50,000–$200,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was assessing them on the quality of work, affordability, customer satisfaction, and timeline. They exceeded all four of my metrics.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their job would have been a lot easier if we had known what we wanted. But we didn't know what we wanted, so they guided us through the process very professionally and helped us find the answers to our questions. Also, they always delivered on or before the deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their urgency. They worked fast and got an amazing amount of work done in a very short period of time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything. It was a great experience.

"“They were very easy to work with, thorough, stuck to our budget, and delivered everything promptly.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the vice president of World Champions Rodeo Alliance (WCRA). We produce events in a competitive system within the rodeo business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

The rodeo industry is a bit behind in terms of embracing technology the way other sports have. We hired Praxent to create mobile platform solutions for some of our challenges and increase our efficiency in administering events nationwide.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our initial goal was to create a native app platform for utilizing this data but during our discovery process, Praxent recommended a mobile web platform that ended up being a better decision due to the short length of our project timeline.

We have a large database of information related to the rodeo industry and our goal was to provide a mobile platform where users could access that and also input further information. The app allows them to share dates of upcoming events, final scores, and so on. We also used the data to create a leaderboard that calculates and awards points across to competitors numerous disciplines in the sport. In addition, users have the ability to purchase memberships, pay entry fees, and register for events from within the app.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We received a referral from other members of the tech community in the Austin area. We interviewed six different prospective companies and selected Praxent because they seemed like the best fit for our organization in terms of approach, professionalism, and presentation. We also liked their confidence in their ability to deliver under a tight deadline.

How much have you invested with them?

Between $200,000–$1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2018 and launched in early May 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve introduced brand new tech-related concepts in the industry, which has been rather groundbreaking. Adoption has been steady and increasing, so all indications suggest that we’re on a good upward trajectory.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a great job of communicating at every level, whether it was related to budget or development. They have effective processes in place that allowed us to closely monitor the project and were very transparent in their approach. We gave them a tight budget on this project and they managed to come in below it — while launching ahead of schedule.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very easy to work with, thorough, stuck to our budget, and delivered everything promptly.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent overcame initial onboarding challenges and quickly took control of the project. Their communicative management style facilitated the use of Kanban user stories. After integrating a talented developer, they completed 140 GitHub tickets and delivered a successful engagement.
"“The developer’s client-focused approach proved to be invaluable.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of an energy consultant firm.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

My business utilizes an enterprise management platform that was built by a freelance developer. Once the freelancer became unavailable, I needed another developer to provide additional functionalities and updates.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

No one had worked on our system in two years, so it needed many feature improvements. It’s a client-facing software that uses both Heroku and Amazon Web Services as cloud computing resources. I use the software to manage the business and in addition to clients, it also interacts with my partners and suppliers as well. I used GitHub to request specific bug fixes and list new developments. Praxent worked on the existing code to fix landing screens and sort orders. They programmed new functionalities that gather, analyze, and report relevant data. After experiencing project management difficulties, they taught me to utilize Kanban to create more descriptive user stories and expedite development time.

What is the team composition?

I spoke with Kevin (Managing Partner, Praxent) when initially reaching out to Praxent. Then, I worked with a project manager and two developers over the course of the engagement.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I attempted to find a replacement freelancer and considered 3–4 candidates. However, our unique technology suite made it difficult to find an adequately-skilled developer. Then, I searched online for a local development firm with Python expertise. I narrowed the search down to Praxent and three other companies.

Praxent seemed to best comprehend the needs of my business. The other firms wouldn’t work with existing code and wanted to rebuild my entire platform. Kevin understood that I didn’t have the budget for a rebuild and just wanted to improve the current platform. His willingness to operate within my business methodology was the main reason I hired them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project took place from December 2017–April 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m thrilled with the developer I ended up with and the quality of work that was done. Once we learned how to work together, we had tremendous success. Ultimately, they closed 140 tickets in GitHub.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

The initial developer they assigned wasn’t well-suited for the project. I expressed my concerns and they quickly appointed another developer who did great work. I was initially hesitant to learning Kanban, but they politely insisted and now I see great value in the process. Additionally, I’d attend daily standups with the project manager and developers. It was a lot more involvement on my part, but the communication led to better utilization of the developer. I’d request difficult tasks and could rely on them to present several actionable solutions. From that standpoint, they did a great job managing the project and me as a client.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The developer’s client-focused approach proved to be invaluable. If the developer isn’t engaged or committed, the project won’t succeed. Praxent found the right developer to match my expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The onboarding process could’ve been better. They struggled setting up a development environment for two weeks before communicating the challenge. To be fair, the initial roadmap I provided them was lacking. These issues caused the project to go over budget by about 20%.

**Feedback Summary**: Praxent created an aesthetically-pleasing website that presents content cleanly, ultimately improving fundraising efforts. They made a detailed project outline and met every deadline on budget. They’re devoted to the success of any project, no matter how small, and earned a follow-up contract.

""I know they have bigger clients with bigger budgets, but they worked hard to deliver our project on time."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the Faculty Director for the Center for Leadership and Ethics at the University of Texas at Austin.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?
Our website was difficult to navigate and featured an outdated design. We engaged Praxent to create a new site with a fresh look and clean organization.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
They sat down with us to go over our existing site. We also showed them a few sites with aesthetics we admired. We then began to outline the project. They told us what was expected from our end–content, text and graphics approval, etc.–and outlined a schedule and budget. During this phase, they offered their own suggestions for the project based on their expertise.
The site was built using WordPress and essentially serves to convey information to students and potential donors. Praxent helped us organize strategies for different pages, landing spots, and backend analytics before working with us on the design elements.
We worked together closely as they began populating the content, providing edits and feedback. Based on our suggestions, they worked to reconfigure the strategy around each page.
While creating a visually appealing site was our primary goal, we also wanted it to be intuitive so our in-house staff could make edits easily. Praxent provided training to ensure our team members understood the system.
Having completed version 1.0, they’re currently building the second iteration with more complex features.
What is the team composition?
There were three people in total. Kevin (Hurwitz, Managing Partner, Praxent) connected at the beginning and end of the project. I worked primarily with a project manager and a technical specialist who built the site and provided the training.
How did you come to work with Praxent?
They developed a complex web project for another department at the University of Texas. They came highly recommended as competent developers who could deliver on time and on budget.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2017 and our relationship is ongoing. Having completed the last round a year ago, we’ve engaged them to help with the second iteration of the site.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m much more comfortable showing the new site to potential donors. Our advisory council members think the site has an improved, clean look and find the content clearer. A colleague who teaches communications also gave positive feedback, saying the site is clean and to the point, with no wasted space or excess text.
How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re excellent across the board. They clearly articulate their strategies and communicate their progress. They create a detailed schedule and meet every deadline on budget.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I don’t have a lot of experience working with developers, but I was very impressed by the level of attention they devoted to us. I know they have bigger clients with bigger budgets, but they worked hard to deliver our project on time.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Development of version 1.0 went very smoothly, but I would like to hear more strategic input as we move into version 2.0. I’m not tech-oriented, so it would be nice if they gave more detailed suggestions about what functionalities are possible under different budgets, and the pros and cons of each.

**The Review** — Jan 16, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Extremely thorough and well-organized, Praxent regularly completed deliverables on or ahead of schedule. They integrated well with in-house staff and their sandbox demonstrations persuaded key stakeholders about the viability of the project, making them a valuable partner for the future.
"“Praxent brought a depth of understanding and an ability to tactfully discuss the tradeoffs of different approaches.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the director of e-commerce solutions for an auto parts company. We provide technology, marketing, and product services for a group of distributors in North America and China, and we offer options like e-commerce and supply chain integration, as well as a number of marketing solutions.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We were looking for UX design expertise. We felt like our own shop was lacking in ability to implement an effective user experience, so we wanted to augment our resources in order to tackle some important projects in our pipeline.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired them to help us with a new B2C commerce site. It's a hybrid of our existing services and some new ones we built from the ground up, and it will also enjoy many of our existing backend integrations.

We divided this project into frontend/backend segments, and Praxent assisted with UX on the frontend so we could ensure that we weren't leaning too heavily on older services we'd already deployed. This project used the Greenfield platform, and it needed to walk through four or five user journeys, e.g. arriving at the store, and then shopping for, searching for, or purchasing a product. Praxent's job was to create that experience for our site. We're still in the process of developing it now.

What is the team composition?

I have a project manager, and then the other members of their team switch in and out at different phases of the project. Normally there's one or two of them helping out at a time.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

I did a bit of web searching, but I live in Austin and my network here contains quite a few strong companies that do a lot of this work, so I asked for personal recommendations. I was interested in US-based companies, preferably local, and I received three good candidates. After meeting with Praxent's managing partner, I felt like it was a good fit and we moved forward from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent somewhere between $50,000–$100,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2017 and our partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project isn’t finished yet, but one of the things they did was help revise the checkout process on our new site.  We debated it quite a bit, and I was both impressed and surprised by the richness of their discussion regarding specific implementation styles. I thought I knew my way around those UX areas pretty well, but Praxent brought a depth of understanding and an ability to tactfully discuss the tradeoffs of different approaches. They really helped us clarify our thinking and led us to the right choices for our particular UX.

We also set two deadlines in 2017 for Praxent to have sandbox pages ready to present at our stakeholders’ meetings, and not only did they meet both of those delivery milestones, their work helped us sell our design approach to our stakeholders. Prior to those meetings, there'd been some question as to whether our in-house team could produce this new website since software design isn't our specialty. We were able to demonstrate not only that our guys had what it takes, but also that we knew how to bring in a strong collaborative partner who helped us make robust advances to our products.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

Their productivity really impressed me. They check in with us regularly and they keep up with granular details like the function or story point. They've also done a great job meeting specific objectives as we march through the design iterations. Everybody on their staff has been on point.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm very happy with the quality and completeness of their deliverables. We're asking for developer-ready components and content, and they didn't just provide wireframes, but products that were finished and ready to code.

I'm also pleased with the overall project management. It's easy to see how well we're doing and they maintain a good pace. In fact, they push us. When you offload something like this, it’s ordinarily a challenge to keep that external team fed and ready for the next project, but in this case, we had to work hard to match their ability to produce. It's a nice problem to have.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Praxent is able to quickly digest what we give them and start making products that meet our requirements, so I would recommend being thoroughly prepared ahead of time in terms of your goals and your schedule. They're highly active, communicative partners, and we didn't have all of our UX plans decided ahead of time, so keeping pace with the decision-making was a challenge sometimes. We didn't outsource that part of the process as much as we could have.

**The Review** — Dec 14, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: The speed at which Praxent worked set them apart from other vendors, as did their willingness to scrap the original concept and ability to rapidly create something more in line with the overall goals. An efficient and personable project manager helped to make the work both pleasant and successful.
""The company has a good focus, the right mentality, and an effective development methodology."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am a risk engineer at Kinder Morgan, which specializes in the pipeline transportation of oil and gas, among various other infrastructure interests.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Praxent?

We needed to build a new application for our risk and pipeline integrity management system. Our internal tech team does not have the necessary skillset to build the type of application that we needed, so we went in search of vendors that could provide us with the capability and expertise to help us achieve our goals.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our current applications are all separate and designed to address specific needs, but none of them are connected or integrated. Looking forward, we want to have one application to address all the previous requirements that were met by the disparate apps, and for it to also have the ability to include risk algorithms. Praxent’s primary objective is to build the user interface of the application and to incorporate the ability to display geospatial data via a map representation of the pipeline. So far, we have worked with them to create a prototype, and we have recently begun our collaboration on the full version of the app.

How did you come to work with Praxent?

We did research online about them and the last project that they spearheaded. Seeing a diversified portfolio of work was important to us. We needed a vendor that specialized in UI development and also had experience with utilizing geospatial data. After we worked on the prototype, we conducted a review of them and our other potential candidates. They needed to demonstrate both the technical capability we sought and the ability to understand our specific business needs quickly. Once we agreed that Praxent met all of our needs, we engaged them to begin the project in earnest.

How much have you invested with them?

The three-week-long work on the prototype cost us $15,000. The cost of the full project has yet to be determined.

What is the status of this engagement?

The prototype was completed during July 2017, and we made the decision regarding the full project in October of the same year. We have only just begun work on the actual application.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It is too early in the process for us to have any concrete metrics about their impact.

How did Praxent perform from a project management standpoint?

We have worked with two separate project managers during our collaboration thus far. During the majority of the work on the prototype, we worked with one person, and then after that we continued with Deanna, our current solutions architect. She is very intelligent and was able to grasp the technical concept of our product quickly. Additionally, she is pleasant to work with, and ultimately she was one of the main reasons that we decided to work with Praxent. We communicate through email, regular in-person meetings, WebX meetings, and the occasional weekend conference call. Their communication so far has been great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Three weeks was not much time to develop a functional prototype, but Praxent was able to deliver in that timeframe. A truly impressive feat, however, was that when we indicated that we were dissatisfied with the very first version of their prototype, they were able to rework the whole thing within two to three days. That kind of adaptability and rapid turnaround time is exactly what we had been seeking. During that trial period, they demonstrated that they had the capability and talent in their team to ameliorate any issues we might have in the future. They have proven that they are capable and quick learners, especially when compared with other similar vendors. The company has a good focus, the right mentality, and an effective development methodology.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although the price for their three weeks of work on the prototype was reasonable, their overall quote for the project is quite high, especially when compared to other vendors. The hope is that we are paying a higher price for a higher quality product.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

This is true for all development work, but you would do well to know your business requirements and project goals upfront. That will make the process much easier and more efficient.

### Management tool improves utilization and adoption
Axiom, a Greenwich, Connecticut-based global investment management firm founded in 1998, was looking to modernize its proprietary Axware research tool, which its team uses to analyze, aggregate, and share data on investments. Built more than 10 years ago by a third-party firm, the tool had become outdated, lacked some of the features of more modern applications and needed additional functionality to fully leverage the vast amounts of data points collected over the years. Despite the team’s desire to fully incorporate it into the decision-making process, Axware lacked advanced analytical capabilities, essentially acting as a store of information. Due to its complex user interface, employees required long onboarding times and were not using the full power of the research database. Most importantly, Axware did not reflect the firm’s core competencies and desire to be seen as ahead of the curve.
Axiom was seeking a partner that could approach Axware’s navigational issues objectively and resourcefully, address its cosmetic appearance and suboptimal user experience, and essentially function as an in-house team by providing strategic guidance and direction for UX/UI design and technology decisions. They were looking for a primarily U.S.-based team that could deliver value to justify their investment and help them build a robust technology platform going forward.
