Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Povio was responsible for the design, development, and launch of EverAway, a mobile marketplace connecting homeowners with independent home watchers.

The project included building iOS and Android applications, along with an administrative dashboard to manage platform operations.

Key deliverables included:

- Homeowner Experience: Account creation, property management, service selection, booking and scheduling, secure payments, and access to detailed visit reports.

 - Watcher Experience: Onboarding, background check integration, profile management, service offerings, scheduling, visit management, and earnings tracking.

- Visit Reporting: Guided checklists, GPS verification, photo and video documentation, and detailed reports for homeowners.

- Platform Management:  An administrative dashboard for managing users, bookings, payments, notifications, and operational oversight.

- Third-Party Integrations: Integration of services such as Stripe for payments, Checkr for background checks, and communication tools for notifications.

- Testing and Launch: Platform testing, troubleshooting, deployment, and publication on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The overall objective was to transform our business concept into a functional, scalable marketplace that could launch in Southwest Florida and support future expansion across the United States.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most significant outcome was the successful development and launch of EverAway on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in October 2026, transforming our initial business concept into a fully operational mobile marketplace.

Povio helped us achieve several major milestones, including the completion of our homeowner and Watcher applications, an administrative management platform, integrated payment processing, background check functionality, scheduling, and digital visit reporting.

Since launching, we have begun onboarding homeowners and independent Watchers, expanding our network, and gathering real-world feedback to further improve the platform.

For us, the biggest measure of success was moving from an idea to a live, functioning product that provides the foundation for continued growth and nationwide expansion.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Povio maintained a structured approach to project management and was responsive to our evolving needs throughout development. Communication was consistent, with regular meetings, progress updates, and opportunities to provide feedback.

As with any complex software development project, there were occasional challenges and adjustments to timelines, but the team worked collaboratively with us to address issues and keep the project moving forward.

We particularly appreciated their willingness to listen to our feedback, accommodate changes, and work through technical challenges. Their continued support during and after launch has been valuable as we refine the platform and prepare for future growth.

What was your primary form of communication with Povio?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed us most about Povio was their ability to take a complex business concept and turn it into a functioning platform. From the beginning, they showed a genuine interest in understanding our vision for EverAway and the unique challenges of building a two-sided marketplace.

Their team brought a strong combination of technical expertise, creativity, and problem-solving skills. We especially appreciated their collaborative approach, openness to feedback, and willingness to adapt as our ideas evolved throughout development.

Rather than simply building an app, they worked alongside us to help bring our vision to life.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Povio could have done differently?

Overall, we've had a positive experience working with Povio.

We had a very positive experience working with this team on the redesign of our firm’s website. From the outset, they demonstrated creativity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in understanding who we are and what we were trying to communicate through our brand.

As a firm, it was important to us that our website reflect our values and the tone of our work, and they truly captured our vision. The final product feels authentic, polished, and aligned with our mission. We absolutely love the result and have received wonderful feedback on the new site.

Overall, we are very happy with the outcome and have recommended/would recommend Povio to organizations looking for a skillful and creative partner for a website redesign.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Povio could have done differently?

At the beginning of the project, clearer communication on both sides regarding work produce and expectations may have been helpful. Taking a bit more time upfront to align on deliverables may have avoided some back-and-forth regarding team member pages. That said, once expectations were clarified, things moved forward very well, and we loved the finished product.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Delivering the MVP on time and on budget. Then, delivering subsequent iterations and optimizations as expected.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Povio maintained adequate project management practices throughout our engagement. For most projects, deliverables were typically completed within ±1 week of agreed timelines. Their software development process follows industry standards for request intake, design preparation, review processes, and engineering handoff.

The team implements a conventional one-week sprint cycle, which provides a balanced accountability approach and allows for necessary weekly adjustments. Their project manager consistently creates and tracks tickets, including ad hoc tasks communicated via Slack, ensuring work is appropriately documented.

This approach helped maintain steady progress and aligned with typical industry practices for project execution.

What was your primary form of communication with Povio?

• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What distinguishes Povio from typical outsourcing firms is its engineers' proactive approach to system maintenance and improvement. Rather than simply executing tasks as directed, they regularly offered suggestions for system optimization and long-term sustainability.

Their willingness to constructively challenge ideas was particularly valuable. When they identified potentially inefficient architectural approaches, they provided thoughtful alternatives instead of proceeding with suboptimal solutions. This level of professional pushback is uncommon among outsourcing partners, whose focus is often primarily on rapid task completion.

This ownership mentality appeared embedded in Povio's organizational culture, extending beyond engineering to other functions like product development. Throughout our experience, Povio has felt like an extension of our team and a true partner vs. a vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Povio could have done differently?

As a startup, we faced a challenge in shifting the team toward an incremental delivery approach rather than large upfront work packages. This transition required several iterations before becoming effective. A more agile, iterative approach from the outset would have better accommodated our evolving requirements as a startup and prevented resources from being allocated to redundant development work.

While we appreciated the strong start with a senior designer, transitions within the design team introduced some challenges and extended feedback cycles. At times, designs were more complex than needed, highlighting opportunities for improved collaboration between product management and design to streamline requirements and reduce iterations.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Our current e-commerce site was written using shopify templates and hosted on shopify which limited our creativity for the site as well as our ability to change checkout flow. Worked with Povio to redo the tech stack by:

• Making front in React
• Using graphql to call drupal site for CMS sending to an e-commerce "Saleor" platform for order tracking
• Our web designer designed entire site in Figma and Povio used those designs to impliment front in
• We handled creating the back end drupal site

A lot of communication betweens teams was needed to make the project succesful and we felt that was the best experience we had with Povio. Easy to work together, communicating back and forth as to what needed to be done.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Site that met site loading speed standard
• Followed web standards
• Matched design wishes
• Matching quality standards that was built on a new tech stack to be able to easily add features in the future

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

• They did a good job of adjusting if we saw there were issues where a resource wasn't responding as quickly as we had hoped
• Their initial estimates for the site for the amount of work required were under on certain sections, they not understanding the full list of functionality within. For most sections they were accurate
• They worked with us to improve velocity
• They meet when needed
• They suggested changes if needed

Povio's communication is excellent; they ask questions when needed and their dynamic is very good. The team being our team mixed with their team. We've used other companies in the past and had the communication gaps, it was refreshing not to have them here.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Povio could have done differently?

There initial estimate was low.  Mostly due to not understanding full breadth of the functionality of hte site they were going to redo.  Only other issue was they usually take multiple weeks of vacation at a time, which can cause odd gaps in progress on a schedule.  Had to work with them to get everything on a calendar so those could be accounted for.

Nothing too measurable given the type of project but:

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Yes, generally handled very well. Njomza made it clear when they were blocked and when I was blocked she helped find the right solution.

Early in the project there were a few hiccups. Most notably, eng shouldn't have been brought in to the project so early as they ended up spending time on tasks that would later need to be redone. Also, there were some lapses in communication around time-off.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Mario has been fantastic, he's a huge reason why this project was a success. They are super knowledgeable, very fast, flexible, and always available.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Povio could have done differently?

I've already shared my notes on project management in a previous question.

On the technical side, there were some instances where a potential challenge was flagged early and responded to with "we don't need to worry about that now" and then we don't hear about it again until it becomes an issue. For ex, the data migration was flagged super early as a high risk part of the project, and a couple of days before launch we encountered various issues that could have been avoided.

Otherwise, it would have been great to have QA be more comprehensive (ie. beyond just UI). There have been several broken experiences that should have been caught earlier.
