I was the CEO and CMO Fairfax Electronics, an electronics distribution company. It has since sold.

Ongoing redesign and maintenance of corporate website and special side projects related to online marketing (digital marketing)

What were your goals for this project?

To improve SEO and SERP positioning and launch product feeds. Also, to correct XML and snippets and resolve credentials.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Through Upwork coupled with an extensive online interview. Once selected, we required a short contract to confirm deliverables would meet our standard.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Provided a "hit list" of HTML, CSS, Java, and XML issues. They worked from there resolving those issues. Once they completed those issues, we started building product feed for approval to Google Merchant.

What was the team composition?

I am not sure how they managed it from India. I am fairly sure they had different experts dealing with the different tasks. We would submit our requests at night and come back to finished work the next day. We found this very practical and manageable.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our CPA and ROI showed progress, though we did not measure our metrics every day. We did see revenue growth from our website, too. The main impact, however, was that I could finally focus on lead generation and content for our blog instead of worrying about the website. Navin's team did exactly what we paid them to do.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Send out our tasks at night and by the morning the tasks were complete. This was after the original contract had been completed. For clarity, we would Skype once a week for 10-15 minutes if needed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They did what they said and were cost-effective.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Language from both sides. I had to learn that when dealing with overseas firms to stay away from metaphors or slang terms.
