Politetech Software not only finished the remaining development activities to get the platform to the minimum viable product (MVP) level, but also took on responsibility for its maintenance and continuous improvement thereafter.
In essence, Politetech Software took on the task of rescuing and completing a project that was on the verge of stagnating permanently. The primary deliverables were the successful deployment of the MVP and a smooth transition into the maintenance phase with no downtime or impact to our operations.

We are a PaaS platform for the SME food and drink sector, providing data aggregation and syndication services as well as brand amplification and targeted advertising and promotions to drive consumer engagement and conversion. I am the CTO.

We hired Politetech to help define the technical architecture, create AWS infrastructure as a code templates, create and monitor infrastructure and secure services and develop the platform with decoupled, rest API first architecture and microservice front/backend modular design pattern.

The platform is complex, working in 9 different locales and languages, and incorporates white labelling and muti-tenant services.

The initial developers selected failed to deliver, and we came to Poltetech to help solve some significant technology design challenges to allow us to leverage serverless infrastructure, provisioned concurrency and lambda @ edge SSR whilst ensuring idempotency.

We had previously worked with the CEO on another project, and after going through a balanced scorecard approach for vendor selection made the decision to develop a number of core modules as a trial.

We had originally envisaged using specialist teams for separate specialist modules, but the project went so well that we awarded the entire project to Politetch. It was a great decision.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The quality of coding has been fantastic, even with the more complex needs we have for isomorphism (hybrid CSR/SSR). UI design implementation has also been pretty much pixel-perfect on the first build from Figma.

The dev and QA team have picked up early a number of times that our design has a flaw, raise the questions early allowing us to resolve them before the issue is implemented and subsequently had to be resolved. 

We were hesitant about using QA and PM resources at first, but the more we used them the more value we saw. We built a dedicated team of BA, QA, PM and devs with Politetech and this has worked really well for us.

Well-structured approach, good use of tools and processes to manage end-to-end project delivery. Excellent daily updates, good documentation and timeliness. A good estimation of work effort and reporting burn rate and deviation, allowing us to keep a close eye on budget and delivery against the plan.

Fantastic work ethic, really polite and a joy to work with, an attitude of always wanting to delight the customer. Great aptitude for learning, and applying that knowledge quickly and effectively.

We have worked together to continually improve, on a six sigma approach. We have made improvements on both sides to be more effective and efficient. The more we work together, the more we find it is becoming a true partnership rather than supplier: customer.
