FootballNet’s mission is to create a next generation loyalty and ticketing platform for both clubs and fans globally, exponentially maximising revenue opportunities while enhancing fan experiences through tailored and loyalty building experiences.

FootballNet will utilise its proprietary fan loyalty and gamification platform to enable football fans from all over the world to interact with one another and their favoured clubs.

Clubs will have easier access to their global fans enabling actionable engagement metrics and revenue streams. My job as CEO is to oversee all day to day operations at mostly a high level and navigate the company forward in the right direction.

The design of the mobile application for team fans has been produced with the idea of modularity in mind, allowing to adapt the end-product to the needs of each individual team to better reflect the business logic and processes existing, as well as to provide the fans and club administration with seamless UX.

The applications are being developed in Kotlin (Android) and Swift (iOS) in order to get the most out of the native experience and allow for maximum processing speed with minimum calculation cost on the side of the fan app.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals for this project were to drastically improve digital and physical fan engagement in the sports loyalty space. PixelPlex have helped us build our next generation blockchain based fan loyalty platform.

To empower clubs to provide much more engaging, fun and tailored experience to their fans while increasing clubs revenue’s. Provide an actual digital fan experience whereby fans win points in whatever scenario, be it locally in stadium or worldwide remotely.

We identified over 7 different software vendors during the tender process. PixelPlex have an excellent reputation within software development and the blockchain space.

FootballNet's platform requires a range of different skill sets. From the implementation of enterprise Blockchain solutions, to mobile UI/UX specialisation, IOT, AR and VR and gamification. PixelPlex are based in Minsk's tech hub and with FootballNet being based in London the arrangement made sense.

PixelPlex have an expertise in several different ranges of software development. They have developed FootballNet's platform from a very technical point of view while also making sure things such as gamification and UX/UI are appealing to fans.

FootballNet has contributed from the business development point of view and in making sure some the key features such as ticketing play a key role in the project as well as working directly with its partner clubs. PixelPlex have been working side by side with FootballNet during the business dev process and are very creative and insightful when coming up with new features and layouts.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

PixelPlex has been pivotal in our business thus far as we are still in the building stages and have helped us enormously with making FootballNet a reality. We are launching this year.

Our expectations have been met at every step of the way. Originally our anticipated development costs were significantly higher and PixelPlex were able to decrease our costs by some margin as a result of building a more streamlined and cost effective solution.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

During sprints PixelPlex have been reporting to us daily morning and evening. We have been using several tools which include of Slack, Jura, GitHub, Google Hangouts and Mira. Outside of sprints we regularly communicate as would be expected. They have met every deadline thus far and their reports are concise and thorough.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to handle the problems that exist in the sports space and their knowledge to come up with solutions that meet these issues in a smart and creative manner. Many of their developers are well rehearsed in the respective fields and thus far there haven't been any problems that can't be solved.

A project of our taking requires people to not only think technically but also to innovate in a way that meets the requirements of key stakeholders.

We have been very impressed by how PixelPlex have been able to build a thorough back end solution while also providing great UX/UI. It is often rare to find both. I would be very confident that PixelPlex would be entirely prepared to undertake other projects that were completely different to ours.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can honestly say right now there are no areas I would improve upon. Alexei Dulub the CEO of PixelPlex has been involved from the very start and is extremely knowledgable in what we are developing. He has assigned some his best resources to our project and still maintains constant communication throughout the development process. This is refreshing to see.

Our company is in stealth mode, so I can't elaborate beyond saying that PixelPlex got their hands dirty all over the place. They have strong knowledge of web stacks and 3D game engines like Unity and Unreal.

Our company is the market leader in our niche and we take pride in being highly efficient. PixelPlex fit well into our culture and work ethic.

Overall, it has been a positive experience and deadlines have been met 98% of the time. The hardest part was the time zone difference, but there isn't much that can be done about that. I'd still chose PixelPlex over other options given this information.

They developed functionalities for issuing blockchain “tokens” that represent financial assets. The tokens are records of the asset parameters and standard Bitcoin Cash transactions, rather than standard Ethereum smart contract tokens.

The team included two backend developers, one frontend developer, one blockchain development consultant, and one project manager and business analyst.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They delivered the POC in several iterations, depending on the functionalities we required. We launched and presented a working model of the system running on a public Bitcoin Cash test network.

Our team and PixelPlex maintained constant, close communication. They regularly explained the state of the project, and made timely changes according to our requirements.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were most impressed by their understanding of blockchain and blockchain-based systems, as well as their ability to apply this knowledge while creating user-friendly software.

The requirements gathering process felt a bit impromptu, but that was partially caused by the tight timeframe.

Our goal with Peerplays is to create a Graphene-based blockchain ecosystem of wagering and tournament products and apps, offering online bettors a real alternative to secretive and unfair third-party betting operators and greater transparency. The technical solution to that is generation of truly random, unpredictable values to be used as seed for RNG to determine outcomes of bets and games as it relates to 5050.

We found them on Upwork. We were looking at other candidates, but we chose PixelPlex based on their expertise and as a result of our interviews.

Describe the project in detail.

PixelPlex has worked on a few different projects, including our wallet development and various games. A few of the games they designed are a P2P tournament style game of rock, paper, scissors and a blockchain-based app for 50-50 raffles. They did minor updates to our blockchain protocol, implementing the mechanics for asset/raffle ticket generation as well as random winner selection on blockchain levels. The did design and dev (including frontend and backend) for our web app and wallet, providing GUI representation and a Bitcoin sidechain running on our platform.

What was the team composition?

Our primary point of contact was a project manager, who had a team of around 12 blockchain developers, as well as a frontend developer and a graphic designer. The team composition changed depending on the project requirements.

Our in-house team has limited experience with blockchain, so we hired PixelPlex to help us navigate this emerging technology for our site.

What was the scope of their involvement?

My internal team handled the initial brainstorming, and we collaborated with PixelPlex to determine what was feasible. The design and UI/UX were both prepared by my in-house team, while PixelPlex managed the backend. Once we handed off our work, they had some freedom to make modifications to clean up the visuals and make the site responsive.

To build the site, they utilized the core web technologies—HTML, CSS, JavaScript—as well as a few different frameworks but primarily React. They have the smart contracts that they publish to the blockchain, and they implemented a cryptowallet specifically for our platform. They are clearly well-versed in blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies. They are able to make strong suggestions for which to use and which to avoid.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have hit our goals for production time and quality. I’ve worked with a number of freelance developers and other digital studios, but I’ve never worked with a team like this that goes beyond the requirements and my goals. In projects like this, everything is black and white, and if you don’t define it in the scope, it might not get developed. What I appreciate about PixelPlex is that they’ll notice the gaps in my documentation and they fulfill them even if they weren’t required to by the contract. They have the passion to make it perfect as opposed to simply meeting requirements in order to get paid. I know they’re excited about the project, and I know they’ll make it the way it should be.

How did PixelPlex perform from a project management standpoint?

I have two overlapping projects with them, and I conveniently have separate project managers. The lines of communication are clear and defined through Skype and email. I have confidence that I can access them at almost any hour, which is comforting when working with a remote team. They provide detailed updates and map out the information for me.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re actively growing as a company. They don’t operate like somebody hired from a freelance site where you would be unsure of the quality you’re receiving. PixelPlex is legitimate, and they experiment with new technologies. Their projects aren’t cookie-cutter. They’re taking on innovative ideas and making them dynamic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re a talented and growing company that has done a good job of scaling. It’s hard to say where they could improve.

Any advice for potential customers?

It would be easy to get caught up in scope creep during most projects. In order to succeed, it’s best to map out the most critical elements and stick to that plan. Keep an organized document of what you want.

PixelPlex originally provided us with advice and expertise in Solidity smart contract development. We would later expand their role to develop server-based applications that facilitated GUI-to-blockchain communication.

We wanted to launch a successful crowdsale campaign, distribute ERC20 tokens via Solidity smart contracts (for later use on our platform), and provide potential users with information about the crowdsale campaign.

The scope of the project followed the typical project outline: an assessment and planning stage, project initiation, development, QA and stabilization, and project release. During these stages, PixelPlex mapped out the initial coin offering (ICO) smart contract development process and helped us formulate them correctly. They then developed a set of Solidity smart contracts. Afterward, we expanded their scope to build the required backend services that would help us connect contracts to the GUI. Following the final QA and stabilization, they supported us with the project delivery.

I believe that the PixelPlex team occasionally needs to hire external personnel for specific tasks when internal resources do not meet the required standards. It would be beneficial to have high-level specialists in every area of work. We value top-tier content creators; however, we cannot settle for mediocre content.
