We hired them to create a multi-platform phone app which will allow users to play GPS quests. These quests may contain multimedia such as audio, video, and pictures. As players walk in the real world, the application interacts with them.

We had a few candidates but preferred Pixelmate for their flexibility and quality.

The app is written in React Native, allowing us to develop for iOS and Android platforms in a single cycle. It displays users in a customized form of Google Maps as well as graphics above that.

Having Pixelmate involved allows us to concentrate on the business and its requirements more effectively.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Prior to development, we agreed on tech specifications for the projects. After that, all management was done through Trello, which helps us easily track the status of bugs and requirements.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Pixelmate is responsible, flexible, up-to-date, and capable of easily adapting to new technologies.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Pixelmate is growing very fast, and sometimes, their staff changed in the middle of the project. However, this was also due to the length of our collaboration.

We haven’t finished the project yet. So far, we’ve been making progress with Pixelmate according to the schedule we laid out.

Our communication has gone exceptionally well so far. Pixelmate collaborates with us effectively both during meetings and over email and phone calls.

I'm the project director for MotorMate GP, a mobile app startup that provides travel guidance and information for the motorsports industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with PixelMate?

We hired PixelMate to build our mobile app from scratch. We wanted the design to be user-friendly for both our target audience as well as for our internal team, so we could easily make updates within the CMS as needed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

PixelMate designed and developed our mobile app for both iOS and Android, working off some of our storyboarded concepts and design ideas. They provided input on how we could best achieve the UI and designed some branding elements as well, including a logo.

I work with a project manager, who manages a team of designers and developers behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with PixelMate?

A consultant I worked with previously recommended a few options to us in the Czech Republic area, including PixelMate. After meeting with them, I felt they were the most interested in our project and offered competitive pricing.

We've spent somewhere between $30,000–$50,000.

We started working with them in April 2017 and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app PixelMate developed has received a lot of great feedback from users, as well as some large sponsors. We haven't had many bugs or issues, and they've been quick to address anything as it comes up.

How did PixelMate perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been great at managing tasks and I especially appreciate their adherence to quoted deadlines, since we work with a strict events calendar. We mostly communicate through emails and Skype, but we're also able to meet with their team in person every four to six weeks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to meet all our deadlines sets them apart–that's hard to find in the development industry.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don't have any specific advice, but I'd definitely recommend them to others who value being able to meet with a team in person, because they're very receptive to that. Their business practices are also very friendly to the practices of Western Europe and the Americas, which makes them stand out as an option compared to a vendor elsewhere in my opinion.

Everything is working as promised. If something doesn't work immediately, Pixelmate solves it pretty fast. The system has increased our efficiency and saved money by eliminating employee errors. We expect significant savings.

Pixelmate hasn't overcharged me for the project, which is quite unusual for an IT firm.

We found Pixelmate through some Google research and ultimately decided for them because of their agile, sprint-based approach and their focus on Start-up projects.
