What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Easy data entry for busy therapists, scheduling therapy sessions, build SOAP notes and running reports.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Delayed the project by 2 months to just get started. After I made an on-site visit, they still did not understand the requirements, despite several in-person and virtual meetings. Project management and communications skills were subpar. However, the worst part was the 6-month delay and delivery of a broken application, code that didn't work half the time, and did not meet any compliance or agreed-upon objectives. The only solution they had was to take a week to discuss internally and change the project manager. The director and owner, (Miltan) was not responsive and always came up with excuses that next module will fix the errors and remove bugs. But it was clear that the team had never worked on any HIPPA product, and didn't have any healthcare background.  We decided to kill the product and cut losses, a complete waste of 7 months and thousands of dollars! I hope those considering PiTangent will do thorough due diligence and not go purely on cost. There is a reason they are cheap. Please make some calls and speak with real customers who have experience with them before moving forward.

Project Spire needed to build a SaaS app from the ground up, covering user signup flow, user management, permissions, and the core functionality of the app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Pitangent Analytics and Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd developed a standalone web application inspired by Salesforce's V2MOM app with additional enhancements tailored to Project Spire's needs. The core features included cloning the V2MOM app, creating a single sign-on (SSO) and SCIM, and utilizing Oauth authentication. The team also created a hierarchical representation of departments and teams and individual and department-level V2MOM linking for consolidated tracking.

The team also created dashboards for different hierarchy levels to monitor and visualize progress. The team also created a tracking bar for each measure with the capability to add notes for progress, and methods/strategies could be simply marked with their status. The team also created a quarterly progress tracking feature and integrated quarterly check-in reminders via email and reminders/updates through Slack.

Moreover, the team created the ability to assign specific measures to one or more users, and these measures appeared on the assigned user's V2MOM. The app was hosted on AWS. The team also created a landing page for the application where potential users could sign up and supported multi-tenancy based on the domain of the signed-up user.

The timeline was delayed, and it was hard to get clear updated timelines from the developers, but we got there. The delays pushed back our product beta testing and launch.

These apps serve as a check-in system for contractors. Its primary feature is the geo-tracking system that automatically registers the contractor’s arrival at a particular site. This eliminates the need for paper sign-ins at various building sites and apartments. In addition, it has a license check function that verifies the contractor's licenses and insurance to ensure compliance. Furthermore, the app sends notifications regarding the contractors currently on-site. 

Additionally, the team has designed and developed my website from scratch. The website allows customers to easily purchase a subscription for our software and provides them with detailed information about our products.

I struggle to find developers with decent English. Sorry, but that's the truths. Many claim to have "native" level of English, but in reality, it's far from it. In this case, all the developers had amazing English, making communication a breeze.

The developers shared a good amount of photos and videos, in the process. Allowing me to understand the challenges and process.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The guys were always available, even on weekends, I could not be happier with the service that I got! (and the price was vert affordable!) Super effective communication!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The developers did serious research, in order to finding all the possible repositories, and testing all of them find the best one. I changed my mind a fair few times, and at some point I expected them to snap at me, I was wrong, the team was patient and understanding.

Just a delight to work with. The developers shared a good amount of photos and videos, in the process. Allowing me to understand the challenges and process. I had issues with the way I defined my ad providers, the team jumped in and without hesitation and helped change the settings and configuration to resolve the issue.

I’m the founder of a FinTech startup project, which comprises a web-based portfolio and risk management solution.

What challenge were you trying to address with Openweb Solutions? 

I was initially working on the project myself with a few other colleagues, but our circumstances didn’t allow us to take on the development full time. As such, we needed competent, cost-efficient developers to build out our proprietary risk management solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Openweb Solutions used our provided requirements to develop a risk management app. It’s a portfolio management solution that involves three steps: first, a user chooses stocks or assets that are suitable to their risk appetite; next, they buy the stock; finally, they manage their investments and risks.

The app features multiple tools to help users throughout the process, from choosing the appropriate stock to monitoring their assets. It can be difficult for users to keep track of each investment when they have a large portfolio of stocks, so our solution helps provide a financial overview.

Currently, we’re still working on the app and hope to launch soon. Openweb Solutions is building the app with Vue.js and PHP, using MongoDB for the database. There’s still a lot to test and fix, but Openweb Solutions has supported us throughout.

What is the team composition?  

They’ve assigned 2–3 developers and 1–2 designers on our project. The main architect is also involved when necessary. If I ever need anything, their CEO is happy to take my phone call.

How did you come to work with Openweb Solutions?

Their CEO reached out to us on Upwork. He made a good impression, had strong English skills, and was technically competent. Even though there was a considerable number of employees who could’ve approached us, it meant a lot that he was the one to contacts us and walk us through the initial steps.

We’ve spent between $20,000–$50,000 thus far and pay as we go.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work started in August 2018 and is ongoing. We have so many ideas to implement in the future that I don’t think the project will ever be completed. However, if everything goes according to plan, we’ll launch our solution in Q2 of 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re currently preparing to start beta testing in a couple of weeks, so we don’t have any hard metrics to share. But, visually, the solution fits what we had in mind. Whenever we ask them to build something, they typically realize our idea within a few iterations. 

I also appreciate that they’ve shown real dedication to the project. At times, it turned out that I had made a mistake or hadn’t given clear instructions. Instead of just executing on my commands, they really thought about the project and raised any potential concerns.

Their responsiveness and communication are excellent, though they could improve their documentation.

They’re technically capable and really responsive. Even though they work remotely, communication is almost in real-time.
