This project has been a iteration of ideas, designs and features. There have been many measurable outcomes but no defined end date. This will all be done for the technical end product though as from then on we know what we need to build and how to build it.

Overall, Their good project management was most impressive. There is still space in QA before delivery. But experience though me that if quality is not up to client standard they will try and fix it without charge

Being able to understand needs and acting on it. In my experience most developers have tendency to only do what they are told without taking responsibility over their output. Understanding the needs of the client enables better interaction and end result

QA. I believe it's the task for senior devs to QA junior devs. It seems that sometimes there is some lack of communication between them

We had sub-con a mobile based application for our product owner which was like booking.com but for local farm houses in the middle east. Initially we had opted for a small software house services company based in India which was not a pleasant experience, we had native iOS in SwiftUI and Kotlin for Android code-base from them along with Flask BE & PostgreSQL DB.

We then came to conclusion after unfruitful results, subpar quality, and, great time spent, with the product owner on board as well that it would be better to have dedicated resources which we oversee ourselves. So, that's where Pine-technologies was a blessing in those hard times. Since we thought it'd be counter intuitive to begin from scratch so at first we got dedicated Android & iOS Developers, and we decided to shift to NodeJS's framework for BE after doing a BA and consulting with Pine as well.

But with the problems arsing and Pine's from the get-go suggestion that having one code base for our budget was something that we thought made sense too, so finally we shifted to React and it improved our lives very much. Less inconsistencies (of bugs and testing, something that a small start-up like ourselves at the time was something major!), and less hassle really. Not to mention, that Pine's developers also handled DevOps for us and deployed our instance to AWS.

All in all, we'd definitely be recommending and would have a pleasure to work again with these professional, amicable, and expert people based in Gilgit whose pictures (among some great memes) their dedicated developers had shown to us whilst working and having those little work banters!

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Since they had given dedicated resources, oversaw the Jira board, had access to their Slack where saw attendances and daily stand-up meeting, but took updates from the Project Manager every other day or so. In between if I had an input to give with respect to product owner's vision I would text, make huddle to discuss vocally etc. There were few weeks in between where progress was not up to par but they recouped at the end.

The product's project although did get healthy delayed by a few weeks but that wasn't something that unexpected since at final stages we had to revamp a few screens, and I appreciate the team for accommodating us in a very friendly way. Certain changes brought us back to the SRS document which was an oversight from my end but they still entertained us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I like how they're all uniquely placed between stunning nature scenery, at Northern Pakistan -- this might precisely be the reason why the developers we had hired dedicatedly always seemed motivated, and just go-getters and doers even when we were down ourselves. They helped us focus on our business development since we were confident that we were in the hands of reliable people.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Pine Technologies could have done differently?

The resources we had for stuff pertaining to graphics related needed to be fed a lot of ideas for them to churn per se. I mean I know it's cliche to say we need a "cool looking" website, but we had to really go in deep with examples to get exactly what we envisioned. This was quite a while back so I hope they improve their graphics teams.
