I hired them to develop a complex website for me and to also do the ongoing maintenance. I then asked them to redevelop the UI of another website I run, and passed the maintenance of all 3 my personal websites to them

I used a freelancing portal to create a shortlist of 3 candidates, whom I all interviewed with Zoom. The deciding factors were:

1. The technical expertise they displayed
2. The impression their CEO made on me in terms of how he approaches business
3. Cost-effectiveness (although they were not the cheapest on the shortlist)

1. I sent them a spec of what I required
2. We had a kick-off meeting to discuss and clarify the specs|
3. They sent me a list of suitable WordPress templates to choose from
4. I selected one and purchased it
5. They then made significant changes to it to implement my specs
6. They assisted with the go-live
7. After go-live, they added additional functionality on several occasions

I don't know. Their CEO (Naresh) acts as the single point of contact and accountability with their clients and he interfaces with their technical teams. This is a fantastic way to run remote Web development projects, which worked exceedingly well for me

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They delivered on time and on budget, and I was (and still am) very pleased with the final solution. They went out of their way to find innovative solutions fpr my requirements, and Naresh got personally involved with that.

I had no visibility of how they managed the project internally, but I received regular and effective communication from them, and they were always quite responsive. The successful outcome is probably a good indication of good project management.

Combining good technical and creative skills, responsiveness, willingness to go the extra mile, good communication, customer focused, cost-effective and with an exceptional and hands-on CEO..

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, I was very pleased, will continue to use them for all my web development work, and can highly recommend them.

I’m the CEO of Upkar Private Limited, a food platform similar to Doordash. The company is based in India, but we also offer domestic and international shipping.

What challenge were you trying to address with Pavans Group?

I hired Pavans for their mobile app development services. For context, we initially started the project with freelancers, but people struggled to commit to the project. That was why we hired Pavans. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Pavans has worked on the things we’ve already put in place. They’ve incorporated many new features and bug fixes into the app. One of the features they’ve added is the shipping option. For the ongoing work, I typically give the team a detailed requirement document. They review it, give me an estimate, and execute the project. The backend is PHP-based, while the frontend is done on Flutter.

Moreover, the development is done in milestones, and each milestone involves multiple sprints. Since we don’t have a website, all transactions will be done via the app, which is available for both Android and iOS. 

In terms of functionality, the app has a web-based admin panel that’s available only to sellers. We also have three versions of the mobile app: one for customers, one for sellers, and one for drivers. 

What is the team composition?

I work with two lead developers, two junior developers, and one QA specialist. Every once in a while, I meet with one of their co-founders, especially during negotiations.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started around October 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’ve shared the app with a few people, and they liked it. My team is also happy that the app is much better now compared to where we were a few months ago. 

Overall, we’re satisfied with the changes that have been made. On top of that, we’re happy with how the app is responding performance-wise, how quickly the results are loading, and easily the users can navigate the app. It’s been a good experience.  

How did Pavans Group perform from a project management standpoint?

Pavans has good project management. We have a fixed budget for every milestone, so I always know what I’m spending ahead of time. They have a set timeline for how long it will take to complete a milestone; most of the time, they stick to the schedule. 

In terms of communication, we have weekly meetings on Tuesdays through Skype and Google Meet. We use Trello for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills are great, and they’re nice people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their pricing could improve. It’s reasonable, but we’re a small company. We don’t have the luxury of spending a lot of money. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d highly recommend Pavans because they’re nice people. They respect you, and they’ll do everything to help you achieve success.

All of our users are impressed with the interface and functionality of the app and we currently are rated 5 star on both platforms.

They have reasonable project timeframes and constraints. We had budgetary constraints, and they’ve been able to work within those. We’ve been impressed with how everything is being put together in a timely fashion. Pavans Group has been doing a great job filling in the blanks for us, especially when we’ve run out of ideas for the site. They help with direction, suggest reasonable ideas and solutions, and are good about asking for feedback.

There’s nothing we can come up with.

Communicate clearly what you want so that Pavans Group understands what you’re looking for and what you want to project to the public. You should also inform them about budget constraints so they can follow them. They’ll work with you and are very patient and understanding.
