I’m one of the owners of a small medical spa in Dallas. We do skin treatments and seel skincare products.

What challenge were you trying to address with Overture Consulting, LLC?

We were having issues with CenturyLink. Our team thought that it would be a plug-and-play scenario, but there were other steps involved.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did what they needed to do to make our phone lines work after our switch to CenturyLink. We made an appointment with them. Then, they came into our office and installed phone jacks. Afterward, they returned to check that it was functioning properly. Everything worked out in the end.

We communicated solely with Peter (President, Overture Consulting, LLC). 

How did you come to work with Overture Consulting, LLC?

I spoke to several companies during my search, and they seemed easy to work with. I found them online. They seemed like a great company and they were local, so we hired them.  

How much have you invested with them?

We spent under $1,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them in January 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did what they needed to do to make sure that our phone lines were up and running. Everything is working well. We’re happy with the service they provided and would definitely use them again.

How did Overture Consulting, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They were always timely in their scheduling and communications. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We would definitely work with them again in the future of other IT-related needs. They made everything easy. While talking with them, it was clear they understood what we needed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Their team is great at communication, so you should be set as long as you communicate clearly back to them.

I’m the data center manager for Finastra, formerly D+H. We are the third-largest fintech company dealing with financial banking environments and virtualization of banks.

What challenge were you trying to address with Overture Consulting?

We needed help working on our SharePoint environment. We didn’t have in-house expertise, and were having issues with SharePoint that involved a large customer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided a compartmentalized environment in SharePoint for 36 different companies we work with. It allows us to set data boundaries for each of our customers, so their information stays secure. They built a completely new environment for us, including work on database servers, test/dev, and production environments. They helped us migrate all our clients into the new setup, provided maintenance rules, and did any customization work we needed.

What is the team composition?

Most of my work has been with Peter [President and CEO, Overture Consulting]. We need to maintain a very secure environment, so can’t allow access to very many different people. One project we worked on involved two other team members, but we mostly deal with just Peter.

How did you come to work with Overture Consulting?

We used them a long time ago for a project that ended up getting canceled. Another consultant was making a mess, so we reached out to Peter. He came in and cleaned things up quickly. We’ve since used them for other projects.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend between about $150,000 and $175,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together about three years ago, possibly around June or July 2015, and we kept them on retainer for about two years. We don’t have any active projects with them currently, but call on them whenever we have any issues.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve resolved a lot of issues, and have happy customers.

How did Overture Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

They did very well. They always met deadlines, or were ahead of schedule. They kept us up to date and their work was always right on target. We communicated through Skype, and usually got weekly updates. If we ever needed daily updates, they provided them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re the only true SharePoint developer I’ve dealt with. We’ve used other people who understand SharePoint as an application, but Overture really knew how to develop it. We’ve used four or five other consultants, and they’re the best we’ve worked with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really, I haven’t found a weak spot in their knowledge.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you have everything scoped out, including the small pieces. Even the minute elements can get you in the long run.

I’m a network administrator for an oil and gas company.

We were looking for a more elegant solution to a file server. We wanted to get a SharePoint.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve done the whole development side of our SharePoint setup, and we’re still working on migrating everything.

What is the team composition?

We mostly work with Peter [President & CEO, Overture] and Diane [Vice President of Operations, Overture] on the business side. They’ve been in contact with many teams in our organization at different points, with file migration specifically. We set them up with a leader for each department. Right now, they’re just in contact with me.

How did you come to work with Overture?

I found them through an online search. They looked good, so I called Peter.

How much have you invested with them?

I’m not aware of the financial aspect.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2016 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There’s been positive internal feedback.

How did Overture perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good. We communicate via email and talk every day if a project is ongoing. Right now, we’re looking for projects to do going forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Any time I have an IT question, I can call Peter and he’ll talk to us about commissioning a quote for consulting, which is nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The main obstacle is getting everything on our end straight. When you’re doing a SharePoint migration, it takes collaborative adoption from different departments. You also need a governance plan, which Overture is helping us set up now.
