Orbit Media Studios led a comprehensive website redesign that included website strategy, stakeholder discovery, messaging development, information architecture, UX/UI design, copywriting, SEO, and WordPress development. They redesigned our navigation, improved the overall user experience, developed key page templates, integrated our marketing and support systems, migrated content, configured analytics, and provided CMS training and post-launch support. Throughout the project, they served as a strategic partner, helping us clarify our messaging and create a scalable digital platform that better supports customers, investors, prospective employees, and future marketing initiatives.

The new website also provides a stronger foundation for ongoing digital marketing, lead generation, recruiting, and investor communications. The team was highly organized, communicated clearly, and kept the project moving through regular status meetings, detailed project plans, and defined milestones. While the timeline shifted as the project expanded and additional stakeholder input was incorporated, Orbit remained flexible, transparent, and proactive in helping us make informed decisions. What impressed us most was that Orbit functioned as a strategic partner rather than simply a website development agency. The project was large and involved many stakeholders, so there were times when the volume of information and decisions felt overwhelming. A more streamlined executive-level dashboard or summary highlighting key decisions, open items, and overall progress would have been helpful for senior stakeholders. Overall, however, Orbit managed a very complex project exceptionally well.

SitStayRead  is a Chicago-based nonprofit that advances children's literacy and builds confidence in young readers by using an engaging curriculum that incorporates social-emotional learning, enriched by certified reading assistance dogs. SitStayRead envisions a world where every child, regardless of race or economic status, has access to the resources and opportunities they need to develop strong literacy skills, build meaningful connections with animals, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

In 2025-26, SitStayRead served over 1,800 emerging readers and their families and distributed over 7,000 books to home and classroom libraries through its programs in schools, libraries, and nonprofit community partners in low-income communities primarily on Chicago's South and West sides.

Nonprofits can have high rates of turnover and groups like interns and volunteers helping on aspects of communications. Two thigns that might be useful for offboarding the client teams working on the new site:

1. Tips on how to onboard new hires who need to dig into the knowledge base and systems from scratch.

BCEN engaged Orbit to develop a new website that told the story of our many services and resources in a more user-friendly way. Our audience - nurses working across the emergency spectrum - is busy and doesn't want to get bogged down in marketing jargon. They tightened up our copy for maximum scannibility and SEO/AEO, provided a more modern, seamless and immerservice design, and integrated our LMS so users could find continuing education offerings directly within our website.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Despite our in-house team delaying the project at several intervals due to bandwidth, Orbit miraculously launched the website on the original launch date. They also took on additional content migration work that our team simply didn't have the time to do. And most surprising of all, we launched our new website over a month ago and have not heard one complaint from any of our 55,000+ candidates! In the marketing/web dev world, I feel this is unheard of and it speaks to the level of thought that Orbit invested in this project.

The project management skills from the Orbit team was unmatched. They have actually inspired our team to beef up our own processes and language around project management. They delivered on time and with great clarity and documentation. They responded in a timely fashion to our needs, always positive and helpful, and truly took most of the stress out of a highly stressful project for our small organization that serves a big audience. Orbit was a fantastic partner and has PM mastered.

Everything - from the project management skills to the ability to understand our niche certification board and deliver on our needs, on time and on budget, we were blown away by Orbit and I've recommended them to several colleagues needing website support already.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Orbit Media Studios could have done differently?

The only area of improvement I can think of is being more transparent and explanatory about each stage in the process for clients who might not understand the inner workings of website development and launch. Not only explaining each stage or step, but what it means and why we are doing it. (i.e., "Explain it to me like I'm five") Luckily we had an IT partner who helped us through the DNS/launch process, but even with nearly a dozen website launches under my own belt, I found it hard to understand exactly what was happening and what my role was at the end. I think they're just experts at what they do and they are so comfortable with the process they can move through without thinking about the need to explain.

We needed Orbit to redesign our website on Wordpress instead of Drupal, including developing custom integrations between the website and our ticketing platform & CRM, Tessitura.  Our must-haves included: improving the accessibility rating on the site to AA 2.1; improving the on-site integration with Tessitura to show upcoming performances and allow the users to select their performance date and time before putting their tickets in the cart and changing platforms (from site to Tessitura); improving how we display and sell our classes and camps to allow for more filtering by the customers; redesign our site navigation to help customers navigate to what they're trying to find; and make everything easier to navigate on mobile devices.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All the integrations we asked for are working well; the site has reached the AA 2.1 rating. Our site just launched, so we'll continue to gather data on use, but we expect to see an even higher percentage of our sales coming from mobile devices with these improvements.

Our project managers were great - very communicative, very thorough in their project organization, and very responsive to our feedback.  The project was delivered very close to our original timeline, and any time adjustments were because we (the client) asked for more time to review.  They helped us with every aspect of the project, including hosting and ongoing support/maintanence.

We needed to improve our digital footprint. In that sense, we needed to redesign our website because we didn’t feel like it represented the experience that our guests had when they came inside.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Orbit Media Studios has designed and developed our website from scratch on WordPress. The team has also helped us regarding our SEO situation.

Regarding design, we had our brand package and brand identity prior to starting, so we had our logos, backgrounds, and fonts, and the team has worked with that. We now also host with them. Besides, the team has created tutorials to help me create my own content for the website.

We have worked with three people. Andy, the co-founder, has steered the ship. He has determined our strategy and kept us in line. There's also Krista, the project manager, who keeps us on task. Besides, there is Kurt, who has built the website.

Our private dining and events page on our website and our reservations have gone steadily up since engaging with Orbit Media Studios. Moreover, our private event sales and reservations consistently increase yearly.

Orbit Media Studios has been very responsive. If something looks off, we call Krista, and she finds somebody to help us with it. They have delivered on every timeline, and nothing has ever been late or delayed. The expectations are always incredibly clear.

Furthermore, the team has provided a huge level of support. We communicate regularly through Google Meet, phone calls, and meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive aspect of Orbit Media Studios' work is the high level of intellect and integrity they've applied to the project. They have treated our business as if it were their own. Moreover, they've worked with me to build the website pages, which I've never done before, and have helped me become the web manager now. It's been unbelievable.

I don't think we have specific measurable outcomes other than typical website analytics, which I think have stayed pretty comparable to our previous website at this point. We have had lots of compliments on the new website from the look and feel standpoint.

They always delivered on time. Our launch date was set several weeks prior to the date and we were able to stick with it.

They offered ideas and suggestions to us rather than expecting us to know what we wanted and what was possible. Orbit Media Studios was typically able to do anything we asked and was very quick with responses. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Orbit Media Studios could have done differently?

The only thing that I really noticed was I felt like we were given the answer "that's out of scope" quite a bit. Even if it was a functionality thing that we weren't expecting to have. In the end, we didn't end up moving forward with a lot of the out of scope things because they weren't deal breakers.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

To take two existing websites and merge them into one new look site, capturing the complete range of products and services offered by Nelipak.  Site structure had to be flexible to allow a range of templates to be dropped into any given section, adding information. Promoting new services, products, or posts easily by the Nelipak team using the CMS.
Important consideration was given to not losing the SEO built up by the two original sites in the process.  Key deliverables included: new look and feel, easly to navigate, provide relavent product/service information to visitors with clear call to action to contact Nelipak.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The volume of traffic to the new site looking for solutions or to learn more about the company. Traffic is measured, and pages visited showed an increase in leading inquiries for products/services.

I ran a tight ship. The project was clearly scoped out, timelines set and met, and roles and responsibilities for both Orbit and Nelipak spelled out. Weekly calls reported progress, and issues were identified early and addressed. I had an open and easy dialogue with the team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ease of doing business, very friendly and helpful team.  The project plan was better than my previous experience with a web company, and the thought that went into our market segment - customers, competitors, the USP etc

Are there any areas for improvement or something Orbit Media Studios could have done differently?

Nothing that would immediately come to mind.   The odd time they may have thought we were more technical on the backend than we are, and it required follow-up to have them break down and explain what we needed to do - that said, they were very responsive and supportive.
