We needed to create a mobile app that would complement our product. We hired Orangesoft to develop an iOS and Android app that allows users to remotely manage their telephony system. We started the engagement with the discovery phase, where we provided the Orangesoft team with our vision, business goals, and priorities and they converted it into the backlog. 
In the second phase, design and prototype, they provided multiple UX/UI designs and high-fidelity mockups. In the development phase, Orangesoft built the mobile app from scratch using Flutter. In terms of functionalities, we mainly asked for admin features where users could configure call routing rules, access real-time analytics and call recordings, monitor call queues, and manage CRM integrations directly from their smartphones

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are in the testing phase right now, the initial feedback is very positive. The app met our expectations and aligned with our vision. It is very intuitive and user-friendly, designs are very modern and keeps the user informed about all the actions.

In general, the project management experience has been outstanding. They are highly responsive and demonstrate great competence and autonomy, avoiding the need to repeatedly request information. We received regular updates on the progress and held communication through Google Meet, ClickUp, Slack, and email. Everything was delivered without delays.

We were looking for a pool of resources to work with us remotely as a virtual extension to our existing team on the EV infotainment & dashboard system. Orangesoft provided us with 2 Android developers and 1 QA engineer. They worked as part of the development team working in two-week sprints, developing outstanding, clean code and testing the entire stack to support weekly releases.

I’m the CTO, program manager, and product owner of a startup company focusing on domestic waste usage and compaction.

What challenge were you trying to address with Orangesoft?

I needed custom software development services to create a cloud-based version of our product. Ours was predominately a mechanical and electronic product, so it required internet access. Thus, the development work would include a database and an image processing system. For this project, we hired Orangesoft to conduct the discovery phase.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Orangesoft conducted a discovery process to go through and analyze our business requirements for the product we wanted to create. As a result, they highlighted the architecture and logic behind the product, as well as the technologies they would use to develop it. However, we haven’t engaged with them further yet.

What is the team composition?

Initially, I was in contact with the business development manager to discuss the project and sign the contract. Then, I was in touch with two data architects from Orangesoft.

How did you come to work with Orangesoft?

I found Orangesoft a long time ago while I was working for another company. Originally, I found them via Clutch and reached out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €5,000 (approximately $5,300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in mid-November 2022, and the project ended by the end of December 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The discovery process was very successful. Ultimately, we received a helpful assessment and analysis of the project, as well as a flow diagram for how Orangesoft thought the product should technically work.

How did Orangesoft perform from a project management standpoint?

Orangesoft defined the process well from the beginning, telling me how long the discovery phase would take. They said that it would take six weeks and require two meetings per week, and that was how the project went.

Orangesoft’s communication was very good and prompt. They were very attentive, and we had information flowing daily, both between meetings and at the meetings, which was very good. We typically communicated over video calls either via Microsoft (MS)Teams or Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Orangesoft’s frontend development skills were great. Moreover, they were very attentive and amenable, and their business analyst was exceptionally good, especially given that we worked from different countries.

In addition to that, Orangesoft was very understanding of the subject, demonstrating an excellent ability to get up to speed quickly and be precise about what we were doing. Thanks to this, they were able to ask insightful questions — I was very impressed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was a slight language barrier, so I had to be careful when discussing specific parts regarding engineering details and terms. However, I already gave them this feedback, and it wasn’t their fault.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just dive in, get started, and don’t try to steer them in any way. The sooner you engage with Orangesoft, the better.

We were developing a mobile app for smart home products for one of our clients. We had an in-house team working on this project, but we needed to scale it rapidly to keep up with the deadlines. Finding resources with solid experience in IoT development was crucial to us.

From our team’s perspective, they are professionals that deliver and care about what they’re doing. The end client had very positive feedback on the delivered app.

The Orangesoft team worked very closely with ours on the ground, following an agile methodology. We had a regular meeting cadence and we were able to roll out our requirements to them on a regular basis and they delivered. We used conference calls and Slack to communicate and Jira to track tasks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of Orangesoft’s work is really impressive. The team consisted of strong individual contributors, there were no “average” guys on their team.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The application looks great so far. Orangesoft’s team is doing a pretty good job; there haven't been any issues with the development. We've been testing the app along the way and everything looks great. I can't speak to the code itself because we haven't looked over the code base yet, but the application itself looks great.

How did Orangesoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been pretty well on track. The development has taken a little longer than expected but that's not because of anything on their end. We’ve had some issues with our backend, so the slight delay is sort of to be expected. They've been good about meeting our standards.

We use Jira internally, but I don't know what they're using. Slack and Google Docs suffice for our work together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We've only developed desktop-based software before, so I don’t know much about other mobile app companies, but Orangesoft’s application seems like it’s well-written. There aren’t any major issues. However they're coding the applications seems to be working pretty well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there isn’t anything that I can think of off the top of my head.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure you’ve planned out the backend of the application. We were used to desktop-based software and weren’t as ready as we could have been for the specifics of the mobile app environment. Defintely talk it through with Orangesoft to make sure everything is in line for your development. This will help avoid issues and delays.

We aimed to build applications for both Apple and Android platforms, so we asked for Swift and Kotlin expertise. We ran the project from the requirements gathering and went through the mock-up, development and publishing stages. OrangeSoft helped every step of the way. The application, in the end, contained all the planned features, including, but not limited to push notifications, two-factor authentication, and persona-based content.

We started with 1 Sr. iOS and 1 Sr. Android developer, who helped us with the application design, for the active development phase, the team was ramped up to 3 iOS and 2 Android developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was finished on time, a marketing campaign supported the application launch, the first week, we got ±10K downloads, and in two months, we got ±50K downloads in both App Store and Google Play. After getting the first feedbacks from real users, we implemented a number of improvements

We used Atlassian suite (Confluence + Jira) and InVision for UI prototyping. The whole project was delivered with Scrum. After the release we switched to Kanban. Slack was used for communication.

Their team was always eager to help and deliver a great app that we'd be proud of. They shared their ideas and recommendations and were result oriented but not the process-oriented.

The competence and intelligence of Orangesoft’s guys. They had been very knowledgeable about the tech specifics required for the project, and do not hesitate to bring their own ideas to the table. They can speak clearly and concisely about issues and have no problem raising any concerns. The amount of their management work into curating are outstanding. They are always willing to assist us in resolving any situation.

Our company needed to develop a full-cycle in-flight entertainment system solution for business-class passengers of an airline company. Our goal was to provide passengers with the tablet preloaded with a variety of content and the latest Hollywood movies.

We were lucky enough to find out about Orangesoft from one of our business partners. They were recommended as a trustworthy development agency experienced working with large enterprise projects. A strong portfolio of client cases and relevant technical expertise persuaded us to leave the request.

At the start, we provided the Orangesoft team with wireframes and designs and discussed the project’s goals and objectives. After the successful app release, we’ve decided to continue our collaboration with Orangesoft on developing a few more applications for the IFE system.

The apps are used by passengers of all flights of the airline and are available on multiple tablet models. Also, the solution has a high degree of security and was approved by all major Hollywood Studios.

ASPORTUGUESAS are a sustainable footwear brand that was created in 2016. We are a Portuguese company and the manufacturing of our shoes are also in Portugal. I am the Key Account manager of the brand, however, I also play a role in the development of each collection. I was made responsible by our CEO to oversea this project and be the main point of contact between Orangesoft and ASPORTUGUESAS.

What were your goals for this project?

Design and develop a mobile APP for our footwear brand ASPORTUGUESAS with Augmented reality technology in order for our costumers to be able to virtually try on our shoes.

Orangesoft was referred to us by another company (WANABY INC) that developed the SDK files with the scanning of our shoes for the AR technology.

Describe the project in detail.

We decided that it was a good time for a digital transformation. We didn't want to create just another e-commerce app, but showcase our products and create a unique experience to the customers. The idea was to allow our customers to check out shoe collections and shop their styles.

As a first step, we worked on the app design. We wanted to look it clean and stylish. It was important to transmit the brand's values and spirit. That's exactly what we got in the end. With the WANNA.by, we created 3D models SDK that was implemented by Orangesoft team during the development stage.

It was importante to add the feature of virtual try on. The customers can try on all of the shoes through AR technology and share favourite styles to Instagram. During this iteration we developed just iOS app to check the market. Now we are considering the development of Android version as well.

We were assigned a project manager to support us and serve as the main point of contact throughout the project. We also had the opportunity to meet and speak with the UI/UX Designer. The whole team was made up of an iOS developer, UI/UX Designer, QA and Project Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a very positive feedback from our clients regarding the design and functionality of the app. We had predicted for the first month having around 1000 try ons but we registered over 3000 try ons in the first month.

The project manager that was assigned to us was always available to help us on whatever issue we needed. Very easy communication and the work flow was great!

We were very impressed by Orangesoft´s mobile app development, user experience and optimization. Very friendly and helpful team. They were also very patient with us with all the changes we decided to implement at the last minute.

Right now, they’re developing a mobile app for a huge retailer in Russia. We are also building a big loyalty and personalization program for them.
