I’m the former head of marketing at Power ON. The company allows users at organizations that use Microsoft Power BI for visualization to take it one step further and input data. 

On its own, Microsoft Power BI enables users to visualize financial and operational data through dashboards but not to input it. Power ON provides the technology enabling financial and operational analysts and leaders to input data, plan, budget, and forecast within Microsoft Power BI.

What challenge were you trying to address with ONE18MEDIA?

I was the first marketing hire at the company, and, as a very small organization, we only had a website and a PowerPoint presentation the sales team had put together. Since we didn’t have a lot of funds to hire additional marketing resources full-time, I was responsible for the website, messaging, videos, social media, creating PowerPoint presentations, and analyzing everything. 

We needed marketing support so that I could get help without hiring a full-time employee. I needed a few hours' worth of support with social media, digital assets, and visuals to scale my operations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ONE18MEDIA offered marketing support for us. They provided us with 10 hours a week of work spread across the different areas I had less experience with. While I focused on strategic marketing elements, ONE18MEDIA’s team handled individual tasks around our social media accounts and website, including building new pages for the site, blog writing, and posting. The team helped us create 10–12 social media posts a month with graphics.

I worked with 4–5 teammates from ONE18MEDIA, including a project manager, a writer, and someone who helped with visuals and social media tasks. However, I mostly interacted with 1–2 teammates weekly while the others worked in the background.

I found them through a referral by a colleague who had worked with ONE18MEDIA and had a really good experience. My colleague introduced me to AJ (CEO & Founder), and once we were connected, I found that ONE18MEDIA shared my values and approaches to marketing — they were the right fit.

We spent a little over $100,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2022. A larger entity acquired our company, and I’m no longer with them. My partnership with ONE18MEDIA ended in August 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before working with ONE18MEDIA, I could either work on the website or social media, limiting my ability to do outbound marketing to drive more awareness and increase prospects. After engaging with ONE18MEDIA, I was able to raise awareness about our company exponentially.

From 2022–2023, we increased awareness and drove a growth in inbound leads by 50%–75%. As a result, we reached our sales and revenue goals, which doubled year-over-year (YoY). I couldn’t have achieved these results without ONE18MEDIA’s work. 

How did ONE18MEDIA perform from a project management standpoint?

They were incredibly diligent about ensuring their projects were on time and within budget — we never exceeded the budget. ONE18MEDIA went above and beyond to deliver above expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ONE18MEDIA’s team was incredible to work with — kind and hardworking. They stood up and honored what they did, so ONE18MEDIA was a great organization to interact with. Moreover, the quality of their work, from social media visuals to website pages, was really good and provided a high value for their price point.

I’ve already shared my constructive feedback directly with them, so I don’t have any suggestions for improvement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with ONE18MEDIA and approach the project by determining what you want from a transactional perspective. Identify time-consuming tasks that can also impact how much you drive awareness, such as blog writing, creating digital assets, and writing social media posts, and prioritize those tasks with ONE18MEDIA. 

Through working with them, we found that documenting our company’s value proposition and ensuring it’s easily understood is very important. If you do that with your company, ONE18MEDIA’s team can refer to that and leverage it for their work.

I’m the owner of a family-owned supermarket chain; we manage two full-service supermarkets. We have everything people traditionally find at a local grocery store, but we also have a heavy focus on our meat, deli, and catering departments, importing products from Europe, primarily from Italy.

We spent 2–3 years trying to build a website with basic functionality.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ONE18MEDIA has built our e-commerce website for us. They’ve handled everything from beginning to end. The team has used WordPress and bundled integrated e-commerce and payment solutions to make the shopping process seamless.

The site is a brick-and-mortar store that allows catering and traditional supermarket shopping. Users can look at the site to find out who we are, view our locations, and peruse our catering and prepared food menus. Also, there’s a tool to prepare shopping lists for customers who don’t want to go out shopping or can’t shop on their own. The site’s functionality allows customers to place orders with any level of detail they want. Then, we can process their orders internally instead of utilizing third-party applications like many other sites. If we need to, we can call the customer or contact them to clarify anything. Lastly, we prepare the orders and deliver them.

We’re currently in the middle of working on a different project with them.

What is the team composition?

We usually deal directly with AJ (President & Founder).

How did you come to work with ONE18MEDIA?

We were struggling to find the right company to do what we were looking for. Many companies out there said they could do it, but few could do it well. When we spoke to ONE18MEDIA, they were able to do more than what we requested for a price point that was in line with what other people were charging for a subpar deliverable.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay around $4,000–$5,000 a year. They bundled the initial development cost into the hosting and maintenance fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2016, and they delivered the initial version of the website in 30 days. However, our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site is easy to use for anyone. We have 90-year-old customers with a basic understanding of technology and younger kids with a better grasp of technology, and both are able to use the website. Moreover, we didn’t have a solution before this project. Everything we do online is 100% attributable to ONE18MEDIA.

How did ONE18MEDIA perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is great. We communicate directly over the phone or via text or email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ONE18MEDIA delivered the website quicker than anyone could’ve delivered it and went beyond our scope. Moreover, ONE18MEDIA stands out for their ingenuity; they’re able to look at problems and come up with new or unique solutions to solve whatever we’re facing. They can diagnose an issue and address it using their outstanding knowledge of web design.

No, we’ve been happy with everything they’ve done.

Be direct and honest. They’re very straightforward; if you treat the situation the same way, you’ll get the best and quickest results.

I am the owner of Skate2Score who is the premier hockey development company on Long Island. We train players from inception to the NHL giving each of our clients access to an array of coaches that specialize in their development needs.

We reached out to ONE18MEDIA in a more end user friendly website that our clients could easily navigate. We also wanted to make sure it was a one stop shop for signing up for all of our programs with payment options available as welling as scheduling.

AJ and his staff not only hit the mark but exceeded expectations going above and beyond on what they could do to not only stream line this process but to side in our visibility online and how it could integrate with other programs allowing us to leverage our data.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After our initial consultation, we knew this was the company that would be passionate about our needs. Every employee was professional and extremely timely when executing on our requests. They showed not only a concern for our needs but offered multiple options that would allow flexibility on costs and potential build out options on the website. We knew that if they were willing to put this much work into a presentation deck then we could wait to see what they could do with our website.

After our kickoff call, we provide a very basic skeleton of how we envisioned our website to function. In no time we had mock ups of layouts and functionality which after a few minor tweaks was ready to be built out. The staff really listened to our needs and wants and asked the right questions to ensure our website met our expectations.

We originally met with the owner and then work with a project manager and their team throughout the project and still to this day to make updates.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since the launch of the website we have noticed a tremendous amount of return customers that are now about to see months out and schedule training. We are also seeing a 25% increase in new customers either from our new visibility or word of mouth about how easy it it to select training options.

The project manager was always on top of us with follow up emails and zoom call to make sure we met our deadline needs. It was an absolute pleasure to work with this team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most companies I’ve worked with in this space had employees that were very cold with limited interaction. ONE18MEDIA made us feel like they were invested in this project as much as we were. The whole interaction felt like a partnership and not like we were on the outside looking in.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at this time, we have been extremely pleased with the products and services.

As the Marketing Manager for Mack Boring & Parts I oversaw our marketing budget and operations. Our company handles distribution of Marine and Industrial engine products and specialize in lunching and building dealer networks for new and existing products. We were looking for a team that would be able to understand our industry and our position within the supply chain/ and responsibilities which can be confusing to most firms. We a B2B2C marketing focus metrics and campaigns can be difficult.

After initial discovery calls we were presented with a plan and timeline. After acceptance we moved on to the additional details and content building for our new pages and blog topics. We would hold a minimum of monthly meetings to review progress and PPC strategy and outcomes.

In total we worked with a project manager, developer, and writer. In addition we always had access to the president who would check in to make sure things were going well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our new webpages were built out professionally and well optimized for SEO. We saw increased page ranking for our specific keyword focus. Our PPC campaigns saw a significant increase in qualified leads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was very good between our teams. We always received quick responses and clear answers. If anything we were the once’s who cause roadblocks but they were very understanding and continued to push us forward.

We are amazed by their ability to really work to understand our industry. Their honesty and integrity is second to none.

We hired ONE18MEDIA for their web development and marketing services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ONE18MEDIA provides web development, design, social media marketing, and SEO services for us. We’ve provided them with the background of our company and everything they needed over the phone. 

The website has plenty of features, especially since we keep adding more. For example, end users can check out the website for employment; they can also contact us there or see the page that explains all the services we provide. They can find out about our financing if they want.

As for design, another company has developed our logo and branding, while ONE18MEDIA implemented them. They’ve designed the site’s layout, too. The team continues to provide maintenance and updates for the website. 

In terms of social media marketing, they manage our Facebook and Instagram channels. They mainly create content for our ads, but I create some of our email marketing content. I send them that content to post. On top of that, their resources respond to comments on social media. 

Moreover, we have monthly meetings for SEO. I rely on them to give me feedback on our SEO progress. Aside from that, their members write blogs for us once or twice per month.

I work with three people from ONE18MEDIA at any given time. My main point of contact is Lauren (Digital Marketing Strategist). She has a design team, and another is responsible for our social media posts and blogs.

We started working together in November 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

The quality of ONE18MEDIA’s work is excellent. They’re accommodating and professional. The team gets everything done right away the minute I ask them to do something. Overall, I have no issues with their performance; I highly recommend them — they’re a great company. 

How did ONE18MEDIA perform from a project management standpoint?

They manage the project well. Everything’s done quickly and on time. Whenever I ask them to change something, the task is done within the day, if not within the hour. To communicate, we usually have phone calls. Every once in a while, they come to our office and sit with us to talk in person. Whenever I need to contact them, I can simply send an email or do a phone call. Overall, they’re easy to contact and readily available. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They never ask for more money. When I ask them to help me do something, I pay the company directly. Their resources never ask me for any kickbacks or percentages for what they’re doing. In other words, their services are pretty much all-inclusive.

No, there aren’t any.

Be proactive — if ONE18MEDIA asks you to do something, do it and they’ll take care of you. As long as you’re proactive, the engagement will be worth your money. You get what you put in.

I am the Vice President of the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics, a U.S.-based national nonprofit organization in the healthcare field.

We hired ONE18MEDIA to redesign our outdated website. We transitioned from Drupal to Wordpress and had the goals of making an updated, accessible, easy-to-use website, including a "Find a Clinic" location search tool and a member only area for resource sharing.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We sent out an RFP detailing the scope of the project. Once RFPs were submitted, the organization staff reviewed and compared the various proposals and selected this vendor based on factors that included the price, suggestions, work detail, and mockups that were included in the proposal.

Once the contract was signed, we had an onboarding call with the development team and the NAFC team to discuss and review timelines, goals, objectives, and logistics for the development and launch of the redesign. From there, the appropriate staff members from each team met regularly to review mock-ups, wireframes, content, and more. The ONE18MEDIA team worked closely with our staff to ensure that the site not only looked great, but functioned great, was easy to use, and was accessible.

The President of ONE18MEDIA worked with us on high-level items such as the contract and onboarding. There was a project manager who was our main point of contact keeping everything organized and on track. And then there was a web developer and other members of the ONE18MEDIA team that were behind the scenes developing the site and adding content, making edits, etc.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have gotten great feedback from our Board of Directors, our member clinics, volunteers, donors, partners, and more who all loved the redesign, from the look to the ease of use to the accessibility functions, including language translation. We are seeing an increase in usage for our member resource area, increased traffic, and increased interaction.

Depending on where we were in the process, we had regular check-in video calls, communicated well via email, shared documents and content via google drive (which was helpful to have a central sharing location), and utilized Markup for the final stages of website updates and edits. The project management was always well-organized and easy to provide feedback.

ONE18MEDIA provided incredible results with the finished project that met all of our goals. They also ensured that the project moved along in a timely fashion, they were attentive to details and priorities for our organization and always kept in mind our key audiences to ensure the website not only looked great, but functioned the way it was needed.

With every massive project, there are always setbacks, things that go wrong, and delays. But the ONE18MEDIA team was great at addressing anything that came up and working with our organization if anything changed on our side throughout the process.

Our web traffic has since increased, as well as hits to our company listing. We have received a few leads from Google and that is awesome!
