Our company is the Brookshire Allstate Insurance Agency in Richmond, Virginia. We are a full-service insurance company handling auto, home, life, commercial insurance, annuities, and mutual funds – the whole gamut of insurance products.

We wanted to set up a new marketing tool to attract new customers.

NS804 has done several things for us. They helped us with some website services on the back-end for our local business association. We’re working with NS804 in three phases. First was to get the website running and second to build an app for shopping on the street where the businesses are located. Finally, we’re going to do geo-tagging, so that when people get close to certain businesses, their phone gives them an alert.  

In the app world, NS804 has developed a custom application for data collection. We’re implementing an app where we can contact our referral sources at places like car dealerships and service repair shops. We essentially have an iPad on a stand, and we offer incentives for people to share their information if they’re interested in a quote. All of that information gets sent to us in real time, so we can respond immediately.

What was your process in selecting NS804 with which to work?

We actually looked at a lot of different companies, but NS804 came through a referral. I’m big into networking, so when I need something, I ask my circle. They came recommended to me from somebody I trust, who had done business with them. NS804 was about 40 percent lower in cost than other offers I’d been given while, at the same time, providing much more attention to my needs.

Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?

I’ve spent somewhere between $6,000 and $15,000 working with NS804.

When did you start working together?

I began working with NS804 around August or September of last year [2014].

Is there anything unique about NS804 that really makes them stand out compared to other companies?

NS804 is very responsive. When I reach out to them, they get back to me right away. Even after the work has been completed, NS804 has been there to keep things moving along. If we have questions, they’re right there to help us out.

Most of all, I’ve appreciated their vision and passion. We looked at a lot of people to do all sorts of different things for us, but NS804 has been very effective addressing all of those things. They’re visionaries, constantly showing me ways of doing things better. I’ve enjoyed the consultation side of our relationship, helping me get the vision out. They have been very honest and upfront throughout the entire process, giving me options to help save some money. They obviously have a passion for what they do.

With our app, we can capture data all day long, but I need to know what to do with it so I can turn it into an opportunity. NS804 knew exactly how the data could actually impact our business, customizing the data it a way that would work best for me. They went beyond what other companies do, coaching me through the whole thing and helping me get a good return on investment by sharing their knowledge and suggestions. I hope their business keeps growing.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

For me, the work took longer than I would have liked. However, they did set what was for them realistic expectations and adhered to it. Since beginning the project, however, NS804 has added staff so there isn’t as much lag time involved in making changes. Now, when I need something done, it gets addressed the same day.

NS804 built an iPad app that allowed presenters to interact with the crowd during a presentation. The app allows individuals to manipulate and clarify their goals for retirement. They can also see results and different ways to change outcomes and assess volatility. Some answers were aggregated to show group results.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was shown all over our home office. Many of the concepts are being used in build-outs for 2019.

NS804 went way over and above my expectations. Nick is a man of his word with respect to timelines and objectives.

They are a talented group of people. Nick is a great brainstormer as well.
