Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

To act as the main functional data displays for the information gathered by our sensors, Novalab Tech created an application. Since they were starting from scratch, we started by figuring out the necessary interfaces and user workflows. We collaborated with their team to develop a UI/UX. They proceeded to the development stages after we decided on the appearance and feel of the app. Their team exclusively developed the app for iOS devices for its initial release.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The success of the project was judged by how the final product suited the specified use case and the quantity of end-user complaints. Regarding UI, backend data logs, and responsiveness, the app has done extremely well. Considering those factors, the app was a success.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

For the initial concept development, we mostly employed a high-level timetable with milestones. Their team proceeded to backend development and coding after we had established the basic idea. Spreadsheets and an online tool for UI prototyping were utilised in an effort to minimise the use of external resources.

As I have observed in my experience with other vendors, Novalab managed complexity and found effective, clean solutions. I was impressed by their ability to comprehend the question and translate it into functional solutions that took into account the literal request and potential pitfalls. They delivered a solution that didn't create additional issues.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Novalab Tech could have done differently?

No, I don't instantly think of anything.

One of our clients requested a new feature for their remote access splash controllers. Novalab Tech developed a solution that enables the controller administrator to create custom game triggers directly on the splash pad. Previously, any custom triggers required contacting the manufacturer. The new feature needed to be integrated both on-site with the controller and within the remote access web application.

Our experience has been excellent so far, allowing us to successfully complete critical projects with Clarika's team over the past year. Our internal successes have been inspiring, reinforcing our decision to continue partnering with Clarika to strengthen our teams.

The workflow is simple and efficient, as they handle most of the groundwork and onboarding. While occasional hiccups occur, the overall experience is smooth, and any issues are resolved promptly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their skill level in onboarding and finding people with the right character is wonderful. They go beyond matching skills, thoroughly vetting candidates to ensure they bring enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to their work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Novalab Tech could have done differently?

No company is perfect, but I find it hard to pinpoint anything that needs improvement. The experience has been fantastic overall. The only minor challenge we faced was with one candidate, but it was swiftly resolved.

I’m the salesman and project manager of a roofing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Novalab Tech?

We needed support developing a web and mobile application to fit our roofing company's needs. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
We switched over to Novalab Tech after working with a different team. The team is responsible for our application's design using Figma. Novalab Tech has built an iOS and Android app with GPS function to track our sales team and clock shifts. The team is also working on a scheduling functionality and a feature to provide service estimates and sign contracts within the app.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with around 15 teammates from Novalab Tech, including Feruz (Head of Project Management Office), front- and backend developers, a technical project lead, a project manager, and a product owner.

How did you come to work with Novalab Tech?

We were previously working with a different company that didn't meet our expectations. That team subbed out and brought Novalab Tech to our attention. We liked Novalab Tech's work and decided to continue the project with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working on this project since October 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Novalab Tech's work until now indicates we'll have a good roll-out of the application. The design phase has exceeded my expectations, and Novalab Tech meets requirements regarding development, too. 

How did Novalab Tech perform from a project management standpoint?

Novalab Tech communicates incredibly well with me. We've had to push back deadlines a couple of weeks, but frankly, that wasn't on them. The scope of the project is bigger than we expected, and we didn't allocate enough resources initially. Novalab Tech delivers incredible quality and has worked overtime to make our project a reality. 

Novalab Tech works following Agile methodology and sends notes in Microsoft Excel, and we can make comments about the delivered work on Figma. We communicate via email, WhatsApp, Telegram, phone calls, and Google Meet.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
Feruz works around my schedule and knows all the answers to my questions. He has led exceptionally efficiently in the design phase and taken control of the project. We met four hours daily at one point of the project, and he even worked during weekends with the resources we gave him.
 
What did you find most impressive about them?

Novalab Tech's biggest strength is their leadership. During the design phase, the team asked all proper questions and had contingency plans. Novalab Tech thinks about all aspects of the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for Novalab Tech to improve — everything I've seen is impressive. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I recommend putting in the time and meeting with Novalab Tech's architect. If you provide the team with the necessary resources, they'll perform to expectations.
