Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The Cayen product platform (including the HIMSS/GearUp/AS21/AS201 modules) was identified by TransACT as a key product in our software portfolio. The legacy Cayen product technology stack and user interface are dated and inherently reflect the age of the production product.

Given that this particular product fills a unique demand with limited competitive pressure, TransACT is in a position to maintain a distinct competitive edge if the product can be modernized and updated to reflect a long-term interface and technical modernization.

TransACT development resources and experience for a project of this size and scope will require supplemental assistance from an outside agency. TransACT elected to partner with Netguru to perform the re-design and contribute to the engineering of a total rebuild of the Cayen platform, per the following scope.

Project Scope TransACT has established the following guidelines for the Cayen rebuild project and the scope of the partnership with Netguru:
Re-design the product from a Cayen product user perspective, satisfying current functional requirements as well as enhancing the usability of the application for future growth for larger-scale clients:
Consists of deployable and configurable modules for HIMSS, AS21, AS201, and GearUp Payment/receipt functionality inherent for AS201 module clients Tracking of foster data expansion for HIMSS module Improved ad-hoc reporting features Migrate the application base away from the current Microsoft-based ASP, .NET, and MSSQL infrastructure to a modern, open-source technical stack based on TransACT’s recommended platform requirements, including:
Built on TransACT’s defined Node.js, Vue, Aurora Postgres or MySQL, and Linux scalable AWS technical stack. Centralized reporting using TransACT’s Enterprise BI platform (Yellowfin) Client provisioning via the Tenant Application Manager (TAM) SSO support using SAML 2.0 secure XML federation standards SIS API integration with GG4L Enable TransACT’s development team to assume future growth and updates of the application after the end of the project.

Provide the Cayen platform with an updated modern design, accessible, scalable, and adaptable for future client and company needs. High-Level Requirements TransACT has given the following requirements of the project to Netguru to define and shape the deliverables of the project:
Identify all software end-users and develop a list of goals/use cases for each. Translate what the user needs to do and their high-level business objectives into functional requirements and determine how the software will support these.

Reimagining the current solution to make it simpler and usable for new and existing users. Creating a tool that is accessible and responsive both on the web and mobile web. Mapping detailed features of a product that has been on the market for 20 years. Creating a multi-tenant scalable solution.

Decreasing the number of roles used in the system. Maintaining the required level of product security (OWASP) and privacy. Migrating user base and historical data to the new system. Teaching users how to use a new solution. Insuring balance between user and business needs.

Meeting Accessibility Requirements (WCAG AA) Implementation Deliverables TransACT has broken the project down into two major phases, with detailed deliverables under each major phase.

Phase I: Re-design the Cayen Application Platform User Research Conduct user interviews Conduct usability testing of the current product Define user personas Gather current user functional problems and expectations Create a list of MVP recommendations Suggest a list of ideas for future releases CAYEN Product Audit Review existing products & modules Gather and review current style guides Map existing user/role journeys Confirm the WCAG accessibility level (AA level) Accessibility audit of the current approach Interim Design Review Plan Review research and audit information Create precise design scope based on discussion with Netguru and TransACT teams Product Design Define end-user journeys User Interface art direction compliant with TransACT branding Lo-fi Wireframes High-fidelity mockups (final designs) Design Prototype Style guide Design documentation Usability Testing Validate user challenges and requirements Define a list of critical versus “nice to have” improvements Test design refine user-specific UX and copy mistakes validated by end-users Guidance for long-term product strategy Deliver Completed Design Review and assess Phase II requirements

Netguru designed and developed the solution. We also worked with Karina Graj on two other products: a workflow engine for access to our applications, and a mobile/web suite that helps bankers take meeting notes using AI. For both of these, our role was product design.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? For all three products, each was adopted and then taken over by the business lines to continue investing (I’m in Innovation). Beyond has several dozen MAUs. The workflow tool has been fully embraced and the legacy solutions decommissioned, and as for the bankers’ AI tool, it has been requested by every banker in the group worldwide.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? For this, I’ll focus on the Beyond app that Netguru developed. They delivered on time, even though the deadline seemed impossible to meet. The team was proactive and went above and beyond, putting in countless hours. I’ve already told them, but they exceeded my expectations in every respect. It was a fantastic collaboration. What was your primary form of communication with Netguru?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company?Quality of the developers, reliability, rigor, speed. And the proposed designs and the choices made were excellent. I work in a rather secretive and closed world, and managing to “bring in” an external development company was a matter of chance. Unless you open an office in Geneva... I don’t see much to criticize. Apart from maybe your organization / org chart, it’s hard to clearly understand who is responsible for what. It may be obvious to you, but from the client’s perspective, at least for us, it isn’t.

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru delivered a high-quality app that received positive feedback from testers. The team was thorough, adhered to deadlines, provided clear documentation, and communicated excellently through Slack and emails. Their professionalism and teamwork skills impressed the client.
"“Netguru was amazing.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the VP of communications at Pure Earth, an environmental health nonprofit organization that provides health and environmental solutions to major global health crises. We clean up toxic pollution in low—and middle-income countries. We’ve been doing this work for 25 years, and for the past four years, we’ve focused on lead and mercury exposure and poisoning.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru? We needed an app to enable citizens to report pollution and geotag it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Netguru built the Report Pollution app and the reportpollution.org landing page. Citizens would create reports, which would then go to the environment ministry in each country so we could start to take action. The team went through a series of meetings to learn about our existing systems, including our toxic site identification platform. We taught them about the issue and the platform's requirements and needs. The team did everything from scratch, including design, development, and App Store authorization. What is the team composition? We worked with around 3-4 people from Netguru. How did you come to work with Netguru? We met them at a conference and started talking about how to collaborate. They approached us because we were in the news and offered us their services. How much have you invested with them?It was a pro bono engagement, so we didn't spend any money. What is the status of this engagement? We worked together from April 2019 to April 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Their work was fantastic; the people who tested the app really liked it. However, we had to get government approval to use it in certain countries, and at that time, we couldn't get funding to roll it out, so we didn't use the app. Now that we have the political support, money, and staff, we're considering approaching Netguru again to update the app.How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?Netguru was amazing. They provided clear documentation and met every deadline; they worked quickly and were thorough. They understood our field, which was very different from the business operations they usually did. They were great communicators using Slack and emails. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I wanted to give kudos to the team member in charge of external partnerships and business development. What did you find most impressive about them? The team was remote and from different places, yet they worked really well together. Their professionalism was very high. I used to work in the tech sector, so I know good when I see it.Are there any areas they could improve? No, there's nothing I can come up with.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Invest in the discovery phase. Stay engaged and ensure that communication flows to realize your vision.

How did they respond to your needs?Netguru's project management was excellent. We were assigned a highly organised PM who scheduled three online sprint meetings a week, and planned and managed the project on Jira. The team communication was mostly via Slack. We received monthly updates about the budget. When our designer had to leave due to illness, she organised an internal designer at short notice who was able to help us complete the project. She also found us an extra Flutter engineer to come on board for a short period to help. What was your primary form of communication with Netguru?Virtual MeetingEmail or Messaging AppWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? We interviewed three companies for this project. Netguru were actually the most expensive, but we are EXTREMELY glad we chose them. They didn't over-promise in the pitch meetings, they were very honest about what would and would not be possible for our budget – unlike the other dev houses we met with. Their project management was impeccable. They were truly agile, responding quickly to problems and issues that came up during the build. And they adapted to work with a founder (me) with no technical experience, not an easy thing. Are there any areas for improvement or something Netguru could have done differently? At one point we were starting to go over budget. This could have been communicated to us more quickly; however, a solution was found which enabled us to continue with the project. We are very impressed with their flexibility and helpfulness in helping us get the project over the line.

This independent audit, combined with benchmarking against similar apps, highlighted the app's strengths, areas for improvement, and potential opportunities. The insights gained allowed us to identify reusable elements and set a clear focus for where to concentrate our efforts moving forward.Following the audit, we took time to articulate the company's vision and future aspirations. This led to a series of local workshops in Mauritius facilitated by Netguru, where we delved into the business context, mobile strategy, and how best to align the app with our goals. These workshops were crucial in distilling our discussions into actionable steps, laying the foundation for the redesign process. With a clearer vision, we defined an MVP scope for the new app, incorporating existing features and some new additions. Netguru guided us through mood-boarding sessions, ultimately landing on the perfect design direction. Over a 14-week period, the design was here, transforming our business needs, vision, and strategy into scalable, logical components for the app. A custom design system, the first of its kind for the organization, was also established as part of this overhaul.Netguru successfully translated our fragmented ideas and shared vision into an elegant and tangible outcome – the app’s new design and design system. **The Review** — May 8, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: The client is pleased with Netguru’s experienced and talented engineers, who have produced high-quality code and reliable systems. The resources have also been flexible in adapting to the client’s environment. Their engineering practices have been instrumental in improving the client’s efficiency.
"“The engineers we get from them always satisfy our needs.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the head of engineering for a financial services company. I look after the company’s engineering department and processes, including project delivery, hiring, and other related matters.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru? We hired Netguru to outsource software engineers. Our company wanted to scale up the engineering team quickly as we grew.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Netguru provides us with around 15 software engineers working on a single project with many parts. We have a fintech app for our customers, and the Netguru team works on every part of it, such as the lending, banking, and KYC components. Put simply, they’re embedded in our engineering team. What is the team composition? At most, we’ve worked with around 15 engineers; that number has decreased to five teammates, including Mateusz (Engineering Lead) and Lukasz (Senior UX Researcher). I’ve also interfaced with five account managers during the engagement. How did you come to work with Netguru? The decision to hire Netguru was made before me, so they were already a part of the organization when I joined it. How much have you invested with them? We’ve paid around €220,000 (approximately $240,000 USD) per month early in the engagement. At present, we’re paying between €40,000–€50,000 (approximately $43,000–$54,000 USD) per month. What is the status of this engagement? The engagement started in June 2021, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Netguru has brought on experienced senior engineers to us. They’ve produced quality code and built truly reliable systems that will serve our customers for a long time. On top of that, their engineers can easily adapt to new environments and systems. They understand what’s going on in the background of these services and help us develop them further while also troubleshooting them. Moreover, they’ve brought good engineering practices that we’ve adopted — some of them have truly improved our efficiency and organizational excellence. Overall, their engineering resources are great. The engineers we get from them always satisfy our needs; they’re genuinely driven. How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint? They’ve done a great job managing the project. We’ve negotiated with them in terms of scope. We sometimes cut the scope or extend the deadline. However, they consistently meet our needs based on our agreement. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Mateusz has done great work. Working with Lukasz has also been nice. What did you find most impressive about them?Netguru’s company culture has been great for their engineers. They provide a framework where their resources have peace of mind and can work on enjoyable projects. That’s why they retain talented teammates; for us, having talented teammates is a plus. Are there any areas they could improve? When I joined the company, I offered them a suggestion regarding their pricing. They weren’t open to price negotiations. However, they changed a couple of management-level staff and became more flexible on their price.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Negotiate hard on the pricing, and work with Netguru’s core team. For context, Netguru has two main units: a core team and a group called partners. The teammates we get from their core team are always good.

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru delivered the MVP, meeting the client’s expectations. The client expressed eagerness to use the MVP for their next funding round. The team managed the project well and was highly organized. They had great documentation and truly cost-effective services. Their ideas were also remarkable.
"“They had an attitude of empowering change-makers.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the founder and CEO of Fundacja Uwaga, Śmieciarka Jedzie. We’re a nonprofit in the circular economy; we save tons of waste every year from landfills.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru? We operated in Facebook groups and needed to automate our work and show our users their impact. Our team engaged Netguru to create an app that would help people post on Facebook groups.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement? We had an existing design, and nearly everything was set up. However, Netguru reviewed the design and implemented some adjustments. They added more graphic designs to be used in the app stores. We used Figma for the designs. From there, Netguru developed our mobile app’s MVP for taking and posting photos on Facebook groups. iOS and Android users should be able to use the app to take photos and write descriptions, allowing them to post the photos quickly on the group. They could also monitor the photos’ activity and see if others saved them. What is the team composition? We worked with around 11 teammates from Netguru, including Mateusz (Client Partner), DevOps resources, React Native developers, designers, and R&D specialists. How did you come to work with Netguru?I found Netguru on the internet years ago.How much have you invested with them?We invested less than $5,000.What is the status of this engagement? The project lasted from July 2023–March 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Because of Netguru, we gained a working MVP we could use for our next accelerator or funding program. I could use it to show our idea of using an app to help people post on Facebook. It would be much easier for me to get funds for development because people could see that a lot was invested to start the app. How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?Working with Netguru was amazing because they were organized. Everything was written down, including the tools, strategies, and resources for the project. Everything was in one place for documentation, so nothing was forgotten. I could stop working on the project and come back half a year later, and I’d still have everything in place. Moreover, their teammates always informed me about what was happening. They communicated well during delays and told me about any upcoming changes. For the budget, the official investment was less than $5,000, but this project was essentially done pro bono for us. We took part in a technological program, and Netguru was a B Corp — part of their mission was to support organizations like ours. Meanwhile, the project was supposed to take less time than it did. However, it took half a year because we had to wait for Facebook to give us the necessary permissions. Since the project was pro bono, we also had to wait for developers working on other paid projects. In truth, though, we didn’t have to wait long. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Mateusz was truly helpful. What did you find most impressive about them?I was impressed with their ideas and philosophy. They had an attitude of empowering change-makers.Are there any areas they could improve? No, there weren’t any. The project was perfect. Do you have any advice for potential customers? It helps to be prepared and know what you want; they can also help you develop your idea. On top of that, don’t be afraid of their high prices — it’s truly worth it. Invest in them because they’ll give you high-quality work.

Phase II: Development of the Cayen Rebuild Application Development Frontend engineering Backend engineering Quality Assurance Migrating users and historical data to new application Security engineering Establish an ongoing development cycle Deployment

**The Review** — Dec 20, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru met the client’s goals for this project; they delivered on time, met all the important requirements, and built a product that passed QC for European standards. The team was accurate, communicative, and collaborative through Jira, and the senior developer was extremely talented.
"“Netguru’s senior developer was fantastic. Everyone told us that it was very rare to find a developer of that quality.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of VisionHealth, a company developing and marketing digital therapeutics. We provide patients who have chronic respiratory diseases with an application for medical purposes that has a clinical effect on them.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We had four developers internally to drive our app development project, but we needed to expand our team. However, as a startup company, we have limited funds. Sometimes we need more resources, and other times we need no extra resources. Thus, we hired Netguru to augment our development team as needed.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We had already developed the AI behind our app, and we had built an app around that AI. However, it had been built on an old programming language, so we needed Netguru to move it into a new programming language that met the European regulations regarding data security and cybersecurity.

Thus, Netguru provided us with developers who built almost a completely new mobile app for our AI on React Native. When they joined, we provided them with the app’s design and specifications for its features and functionality. Using that input, they developed the new app completely from scratch for iOS and Android.

Our mobile was built to help patients with chronic respiratory diseases. It helps them track their symptoms and medical values to see how their illness evolves over time. It also reminds them when to take their medication because they usually have to take different medications throughout the day.

One of the main issues with respiratory disease patients is that most of their medications need to be inhaled; it’s not like taking a pill. Thus, the dose that gets to their lungs depends on their inhalation. Our app uses the AI we created to provide inhalation training for those patients. It evaluates their inhalations, tells them what they did perfectly, and tells them what they should do differently to maximize the drug dose that gets into their lungs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people from Netguru, including a senior developer and two junior developers. Sometimes, a QA engineer helped us as well.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

During the vetting process, Netguru was very forthcoming and open, and they let us know about their internal processes, whereas other companies didn’t. That was one of the main reasons why we chose them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €350,000 (approximately $371,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2021–March 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

For this project, we had three different goals: having the app delivered within a certain timeline, meeting a minimum checklist of requirements, and passing our QC to meet European standards for medical products. Netguru accomplished all three goals. They delivered on time, accomplished the most important requirements, and delivered a high-quality product.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru’s project management was very good, and they were very accurate. Additionally, we both were very efficient in our communication, which was a big plus. We had a 15-minute meeting every morning to align on the tasks for the day. As for collaboration tools, we used Jira for project management and ticket tracking.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Throughout the development process, Netguru’s senior developer was fantastic. Everyone told us that it was very rare to find a developer of that quality, which is why we kept working with them for the entire project. She was a top-notch developer.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Netguru has increased their prices considerably since we worked with them. For the price they charge now for one developer, we could hire internally one full-time and one part-time developer in Germany. That’s the main reason why we find it difficult to work with them again in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Having regular communication with Netguru, whether it's brief or not, is the best way to generate an efficient collaboration.

**The Review** — Oct 18, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru helped the client achieve all their goals for the product. Their efforts helped the client drive interest with investors and partner with an industry-leading microgrid operator. They managed the project effectively using Figma, Miro, and ASURA and communicated via Slack and Google Meet.
""Netguru’s biggest strength is their people-first approach.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and team lead of NeedEnergy. We’re an AI-based startup; we scale microgrids in regions of sub-Saharan Africa that don’t have access to renewable energy and clean power. We aim to provide clean energy access to more than 200 million people in 10-15 years.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We engaged Netguru to help us build a platform for microgrid operators and energy investors to profile energy needs in Africa and optimize operations for their deployed assets.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we met with the Netguru team to scope the project and develop a plan to build the platform. Then, our design teams shared ideas and collaborated to create the final design. After settling on the design, we did two sprints to build the desktop application from scratch.

Our first sprint was geared towards infrastructure and backend cloud services. We worked with their AI and data analytics engineers on predictive analytics and data mining to predict energy demand vs energy generation. We used simple Python and R for analytics and streamed data through AWS. They also helped us structure the backend architecture.

For the second sprint, our teams worked together to turn our design into a functional dashboard using Android. We also incorporated some backend elements into the dashboard’s UI/UX. We’ve completed the first version of the application, but we intend to work with Netguru in the future to move our product to the browser.

We operate with a B2B business model, so once we onboard clients, we send them a link to securely download the platform onto their desktops. Our tool allows microgrid operators, impact investors, and developers to pick a site in sub-Saharan Africa and see how much energy they need to deploy there via the dashboard. If they’ve already deployed an asset, they can add it to our platform for real-time monitoring. In the future, they can plan to trade clean energy back into the grid.

What is the team composition?

For our first sprint with Netguru, we worked with two data engineers, a project manager, and a chief of staff. For our second sprint, we worked with one frontend designer and two backend Android engineers, and a project manager.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We put out an SOS, and Netguru reached out to us on LinkedIn. They explained their data analytics capabilities and showed us the types of projects they helped other startups with. No one was willing to take a chance on us, but Netguru did. We shared more about our company and goals for the project, and they wanted to help us make an impact.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $11,000 in the partnership with Netguru.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our first sprint was in November 2021, and we deployed the product in June 2022. Netguru has continued to help us with support requests on an ad-hoc basis.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Netguru has helped us expand into a new market and partner with the fifth-largest microgrid operator in South Africa. They’ll be using our platform to manage their assets and access predictive analytics; this is our most significant milestone.

The energy technology council recently named us among the world's top 50 most innovative startups. We had the opportunity to showcase our dashboard in Berlin. We’ve also been showing the dashboards to potential investors, who have been very receptive to our product.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

This project was our first time working with a partner like Netguru, and I was impressed with how smoothly they navigated the process and our concerns. They’ve provided us with a stellar experience; they anticipated our needs and identified solutions we would never have thought of.

Their project managers were very considerate and ensured each sprint aligned with the requirements and proposed time estimates. They delivered everything on time and helped us achieve all the goals we set when we started.

We used Miro to scope out the project and slack was our virtual office to manage the project. They were communicative via Slack, and we had weekly calls via Google Meet. They also accommodated our budget, which was essential for us as a startup.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru’s biggest strength is their people-first approach. Working with them has been awesome, and we’ve built a strong relationship. They were willing to bet on us and invest their time to help us achieve our goals. The entire team was relatable and adaptable and compromised to identify creative solutions for our product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Netguru could improve on.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend reaching out to Netguru to meet with their relationship managers. Build your case and communicate your expectations so they can understand your vision. Once they capture your needs, they’ll build the best team to help you achieve your goals.

**The Review** — Sep 29, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client has had a great collaboration with Netguru. The team is communicative through Slack and provides regular updates through Asana. Moreover, their administrative team is very engaged with the project and provides excellent service, contributing to the engagement’s ongoing success.
"“We always feel like they’re looking after us.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a consultant at a tech company that provides HR applications. Our system can recruit, test, and select candidates for job positions.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We’re working on a way for users to be able to interview candidates through our system, and we hired Netguru to help us.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru is helping us develop an interview module for our app. The module's design has been a collaboration; we came into the project with suggestions of what we want things to look like, and the team has also provided design elements and ideas. They're using competencies from our framework to create this product.

The module will enable users to interview and score candidates. Once a candidate has undergone personality and ability testing in our primary app, the user can open an interview interface, which is a standalone product. There, they can add evaluators via email, and the app will send the evaluators a link to the application. This feature allows multiple evaluators from the same company to be present at the interview.

On the next page of the module, evaluators can see the candidate's test results and competencies. Then, they can find standardized questions to ask during the job interview. The app allows users to score candidates from one to seven. Next, users can see a summary page of their scores and comments and send them to another page with all the evaluators' scores. This module has the possibility to be a standalone product in the future.

What is the team composition?

We work with a senior frontend developer and a junior backend developer, and I've also communicated with project administrators.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

They were hired before I joined the company.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around €10,000 (approximately $9,900 USD) a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We measure their success based on their speed, communication, and availability. Overall, we’ve had a good collaboration with Netguru.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Asana to manage the project, and they always keep us updated. We have weekly meetings where we prioritize tasks. The team is always good about sending videos of what they’ve done in the past week. As for communication, we use Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciate that we have weekly follow-up meetings that aren’t just with the technical workers but also with Netguru’s administrative team. As a result, we always feel like they’re looking after us. When we don’t want to give the developers feedback directly, we can tell management.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they need to improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re a company with internal developers like us, it would be wise to get involved in the hiring princess of the developers through Netguru. Join the interviews and evaluate who’ll work on the project with you.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Netguru is very good with everything, so just make sure you make the most of them, follow their advice, and have everything set up the way you need it to be.

We needed someone to develop our website.

**Feedback Summary**: The client's customer response efficiency has doubled thanks to the service cloud, and they're delighted by Netguru's development speed. The team is timely and excels at project management using the Agile methodology. Their knack for accelerated implementation and business acumen stand out.
"“Netguru has excellent business development personnel that are both technology and business oriented.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at SOL-MILLENNIUM Medical Group, and I’m the global VP for corporate transformation, which also makes me the global head of IT. We’re a global medical device distributor.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed help with our overall business’ digital transformation and digitization.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru has developed a CRM, a custom application, a Salesforce service cloud, and a website for us. First, they adapted their system to our capabilities and rolled us into Agile management and product discovery. They started the digital transformation with a Salesforce CRM, where they rescued a failed implementation. They performed an implementation audit and then executed two new implementations for us; one in the US and another in Europe. Both rollouts included the development of an API for our SAP ERP. Therefore, it wasn’t a standalone CRM; it came integrated with our ERP, and the team did that integration within that project.

In the meantime, they worked on the Salesforce service cloud for North America. The team built our custom application using Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI. The team also developed the website from scratch using Webflow. They designed the site considering that direct e-commerce would be connected later. They’re now preparing the site for B2B e-commerce.

Currently, Netguru provides us with ongoing development and helpdesk services for the CRM and the service cloud. Moving forward, they’ll also integrate client or vendor portals into the website.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with about 15 teammates from Netguru. The team has included business development managers, sales executives, the CEO, icon designers, and a group of programmers in different technologies.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I found them through my personal network because I was friends with one of Netguru’s supervisory board members.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent about $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership began in November 2021, and it’s still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The first metric to measure Netguru's success is their development time. We launched two CRM instances, and each project took about eight weeks, which is a record time. The team did the core mapping in less than two weeks, and both the Netguru side and our developers did great work. This was also one of the fastest and most successful API development that we've had.

Meanwhile, this was the first time we used any CRM, and in the four months of using our North American instance, we've had about $15 million worth of opportunities there. There's also a significant improvement in our customer service process through the service cloud. Though metrics are hard to measure because we didn't measure our ticket turnaround before, I speculate that the solution has doubled our customer response efficiency.

Moreover, Netguru has excellent business development personnel that are both technology and business oriented. They also have a well-established product discovery process. When we started, their process was more advanced than we were ready to accommodate. However, they accommodated us and suggested an Agile approach.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is their strongest point. The team has a unique ability to utilize the Agile methodology, so they're spot on in terms of deadlines. Budget-wise, I would give them fairly high marks because while we've gone over the budget here and there, it hasn't been entirely their fault; part of it is due to our scoping as well.

We communicate through Microsoft Teams. This is another thumbs up for Netguru because they've adapted to what we use in our organization, making communication far easier for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru is agile and has project management and accelerated implementation abilities. All our other partners work with a classic statement of work (SoW), with meetings three times a week and two-month projects. Meanwhile, Netguru has the unique ability to handle accelerated implementation.

Additionally, their very high technical ability allows us to focus on the business instead of fighting bugs and validating their solutions from a technical point of view. Moreover, the team has business acumen; they tell us when we haven't given them the right requirements using diplomatic words.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there hasn't been a challenge or question to which they haven't found the answer.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be disciplined on the customer side. Netguru has big development power, and they'll quickly build what you ask from them. Therefore, it's good to do your homework and carefully think through the scoping. Additionally, Netguru always engages a bigger group of people which allows them to develop timely manner and with technological reliability. However, this also costs money, so get your scoping right, kick off at the right time, and they will deliver.

**The Review** — Jul 29, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru has been able to provide knowledgeable resources skilled in very specific areas on short notice, demonstrating fast onboarding skills that have positively impacted the client’s efforts. These resources are timely and communicative, and they deliver quality work while meeting tight deadlines.
"“Their main strength is their ability to deliver; they always provide me with what I require.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Seven2one Informationssysteme GmbH, a custom software development company located in Germany. We work for energy domain businesses in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The core of our business is providing individual solutions tailored to the customer’s needs based on their business processes, mainly in the energy domain-related areas.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed software development partners to support our activities on various points, from addressing capacity challenges to providing expert knowledge of various technologies and assisting us in frontend and backend development.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru has become our software development partner. For our first project, they provided us with web developers knowledgeable in React to help us with our microservice platform’s architecture. Their task was to create multiple special frontends for a mobility charging website based on our system and part of an R&D project we’re currently executing.

On our second project, Netguru’s resources have provided us with UI libraries that can be reused for our individual software development. Using these libraries, we can extract existing implementations of frontend controls to get a reusable UI package.

Our third project has been related to UX. First, Netguru reviewed the UX of two of our existing product frontends and provided feedback on improvement possibilities and accessibility issues. After a 2–3-week iteration period, they provided us with a very detailed report on our findings. Now, we’re solving the issues we found step by step.

The software development part of our engagement was done almost from scratch. Netguru reused some modules that were provided, but the core design and implementation work was done from scratch. During this process, they also made use of their design capabilities.

What is the team composition?

In total, we’ve worked with four people from Netguru: three web developers and a UX expert.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

My colleague found them and started discussions with them in 2021.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around March 2022, and our engagement is ongoing as we continue to assign them more tasks.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve measured the success of our engagement with two metrics; the first metric is the onboarding time. When we started collaborating with Netguru, it took them less than two weeks to get the developers fully up to speed with our proprietary platform infrastructure. It was very timely for the task. The second metric has been their team’s work speed. They’ve worked on very tight deadlines, and they’ve been able to reach our milestones.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru has met the deadlines and stayed on budget. Their prices are not economical, but they’re fair for what they offer. We mainly use Azure DevOps to manage the project and Microsoft Teams to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our business model requires flexibility regarding the amount of work that needs to be done in a certain period. One of the advantages of working with Netguru is that they can provide us with skilled software development resources on short notice. Their main strength is their ability to deliver; they always provide me with what I require. We’ve needed experts in very specific areas, and they’ve been able to fill those capacities. Additionally, their resources represent the values that Netguru stands for in their communication and behavior. Everything they do is well done, which makes me very happy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be open to hearing about their entire offering. They offer more than the typical software development company, adapting to different business models. They’ll exceed your expectations.

**The Review** — Jul 14, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The client is delighted with Netguru's ongoing work, which has received great initial feedback before its launch. They lead a communicative process through a collaborative approach to ensure a solid project management experience. The team also praises their professionalism and high-quality work.
"''It's been a pleasure working with them.''"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive at Joystream, a blockchain streaming DAO (decentralized autonomous organization).

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We've worked on several projects for our video streaming service platform. For this project, we needed help with platform design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru's designers are working with us under an outsourced model — they're an integral part of our team. Their designs are based on the brief we give them, but they create them from scratch.

Our product is a video streaming platform where creators can create a channel, upload and publish videos, and then mint NFTs from the videos and put them on the marketplace. They can either put them on auction or create a sale and then sell them to a range of interested individuals. The sales happen with our native token called Joy.

Regarding technologies, we've built our blockchain on Substrate and the frontend on React. We're also using a query node for the backend, a graph QL query engine that indexes and reads the data from the blockchain and makes it possible for the frontend application to display the data via de API.

What is the team composition?

We started working with a team of four, and then we scaled down to fewer individuals — a senior designer and a lead designer.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

They were already with us by the time I joined the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2021, and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven't launched yet because we're still in the beta phase, but general feedback has been amazing. We couldn't be happier with their communication, deliverables, and depth and breadth of their research and design thinking.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

They're excellent with project management; we use ZenHub, which is a browser extension for GitHub. We've also used Figma for the designs and Mural boards for chart creation. For communication, we use Slack and Tandem.

Their team has shown consistent and extremely high-quality output and excellent communication throughout the project, and it's been a pleasure working with them. I can highlight their flexibility in adopting a process that works for us based on real user feedback, collaborating with our community, and doing top-notch design work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their professionalism, quality of work, and communication are the strengths of their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think they can improve on anything — they're doing a perfect job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don't think twice and go with Netguru; you'll be happy and confident about your project.

**The Review** — Jul 13, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: For five years, Netguru has provided high-quality candidates frequently, fast, and with excellent retention rates. The team is good at project management, communicating effectively through Slack, and providing one primary point of contact. Their recruitment process has been a highlight.
"“We’re satisfied with the seniority they provide at an engineering level.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of a company that offers B2B solutions for accounts payable automation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We leverage Netguru to grow our team and for them to do outsourced projects when we don’t want to distract our core team.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru provides us with development staff augmentation. We use them on a team extension model where we give them specifications for certain positions, and they look for engineers for us. Then, we do an interview with the candidates, select them, and mix them with our existing team. We treat these engineers like in-house teammates, and they work remotely.

We've done many projects with them, such as UI design. Currently, they're helping us build a mobile app, which we've fully outsourced to Netguru. We've provided the specifications and designs, and they're in charge of the entire implementation process.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with around 20 people from Netguru, mostly senior engineers.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I found them through a recommendation. An established company I trusted was using Netguru, and they'd already done a background check on the team. Additionally, I heard about Netguru from different sources. We did an RFP, and they came first, far ahead of second place.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our first KPI is the time to hire, and Netguru provides candidates often and very fast. Another KPI is the retention of candidates. Our Netguru teammates stay as long ass our in-house engineers.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

I would give their project management a good grade. Although teammates sometimes change, we usually have one person we work closely with. We use Slack for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

On all levels, starting with the engineering and design product, the Netguru team is pretty fit. They have a good recruitment process and bring in good talent. We’ve done different projects with them, and we’re satisfied with the seniority they provide at an engineering level. Overall, Netguru is professional and delivers on their promises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t think they need to improve anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend Netguru to my friends and whoever needs these services. The only thing to consider is that they’re in a higher price range, so if you’re price-sensitive and not very time-sensitive, they might not be the best option. However, if you want to start quickly and not have a problem with engineer retention or delivery times, go with Netguru.

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Netguru’s work, the client’s system is user-friendly and easy to manage, and it has received positive feedback from customers. The team is professional and has a great taste for design. They’re also organized, polite, communicative, and timely, and the client is satisfied with their work.
"“Netguru has really great design resources; I’m very thrilled to be working with them.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of product at Aspit, a Norweigian company that provides healthcare professionals with electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. We mainly support professionals in physical therapy, chiropractors, psychiatrists, psychologists, and anyone else working in the area of therapy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed help with UI/UX design because we didn’t have any internal designers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru helps us with our UI/UX design projects. For example, they designed the workflow of our EMR system. We’re also developing a web app, and they’re doing all the workflow designs. Additionally, they’re designing the buttons and making a style guide.

This web app is a patient booking portal. On it, patients will be able to book their online appointments with their therapists, and they will be able to use this app on their cell phones, tablets, or web browsers. Additionally, it will be available for iOS and Android.

Aside from that, Netguru is also designing a journal system, and we have a maintenance agreement with them for one of our products.

Last year, they helped us with a development project as well, but we decided to go in another direction. We stopped that part of the project and only use them as designers now. However, this wasn’t a reflection on them; we just had to change the sequence in which we were delivering the product.

What is the team composition?

Over the last year, we’ve worked with two designers from Netguru. Before closing down the development project, we also worked with three developers, a QA, and a team lead.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I wasn’t working for this company when they brought Netguru in. However, I know that they were working with a company based in Sri Lanka, and they wanted somebody closer to Norway, in the same time zone, and with a similar culture.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend €20,000–€30,000 (approximately $23,000–$35,000 USD) per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Netguru redesigned our system’s workflow and UX, and now, it’s very user-friendly, easy to understand, and easy to manage. The product that we’re currently developing is quite new to the market, and we’re gaining new customers weekly. So far, the feedback has been really good, and our customers are happy. Overall, we’re really happy with their designs.

Additionally, Netguru has really great design resources; I’m very thrilled to be working with them. They’re very professional, and they have a great eye for design.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru’s project management is very good; we’re very pleased with them. They’re easy to work with, and they deliver on time. We communicate through Slack, and they have their own Jira board set up so that it’s easy to manage which stories are being worked on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru is very professional, organized, and polite, and they give great feedback on our plans.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we’re really satisfied.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Stay close to the project.

**The Review** — Sep 7, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Equipped with unmatched expertise and dedication, Netguru has successfully modernized and secured the client's platform with their efficient and thorough code work. The team generates innovative suggestions and overcomes time zone challenges with their orderly and adaptable work approach.
""Their flexibility and professionalism unfailingly meet our timelines, needs, and budget.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Cleve Kennelly: I’m the COO of Hivewyre, a digital advertising company.

Joey Lake: I’m the manager of our area’s ad ops. I work closely with Netguru’s team.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

CK: We needed them to handle our engineering and development efforts.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

CK: Netguru manages the front- and backend of our existing internal system. They address any technical issues that can impede its performance and focus on refining our data system and UI, which our internal team uses for our advertising campaigns.

JL: They’ve conducted a discovery process to go over our platform and determine any vulnerabilities or areas that need major updates. After that, they’ve presented their findings and suggestions to improve its quality, appearance, and performance.

Upon securing our approval, Netguru’s team then modernized our outdated UI with a new coding language and upgraded our existing features. They’ve relied on Python to improve our interface and prevent any potential security issues.

We’ve recently decided to build a software program for our clients, and Netguru is in charge of developing that platform. They’re currently working on its backend, and the entire software is set to come to fruition soon.

What is the team composition?

JL: We mainly work with Dominik (Senior Discovery Consultant), our head developer. At any given time, we’ve worked with a team of 3–4 resources from Netguru’s team, including a project manager.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

CK: We acquired Netguru as an offshore team through some ownership changes.

JL: We already worked with Dominik before we acquired them and eventually transitioned to rely on their entire team’s services.

How much have you invested with them?

CK: Their current monthly service fee amounts to $12,650, while we paid them $11,000 a month last year.

What is the status of this engagement?

CK: Our ongoing engagement with Netguru kicked off in October 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

JL: One of the highlights of Netguru’s work is their successful code work, which has evidently modernized our outdated interface. Their overhaul has resulted in a more secure platform — we’re more confident to use it now because there are no risks that can compromise its safety.

Additionally, Netguru ensures the continuity of our system and business with their efficient maintenance services, and they generate helpful suggestions to help us refine our existing methodologies.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

JL: We rely on Jira for project management. Netguru has a structured workflow, which we find efficient as it helps us stay in the loop and track their weekly progress. They’re also highly responsive, and they immediately resolve any issues that we raise — we don’t consider our time zone differences challenging because of their approach.

While I personally wish the project has progressed faster, I know that development work takes time, and engaging an offshore team is another challenge.

CK: Netguru has accomplished our project requirements within the timelines we’ve set. We’re extremely satisfied with their team’s performance.

What did you find most impressive about them?

JL: What stands out about Netguru is their orderly work structure — Dominik has already impressed us with this quality when we’ve solely worked with him, but it’s noteworthy to see Netguru exhibit this as a team. Additionally, their flexibility and professionalism unfailingly meet our timelines, needs, and budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

JL: I can’t think of anything off the top of my head. Netguru has been a very flexible and timeline-oriented partner that strives to overcome our time zone differences, and we’re just thankful to have them on board.

CK: Netguru’s most recent price increase has surprised me, so I’ve quickly expressed my sentiments to their team. However, they’ve responded well to my feedback, so we’ve already resolved that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

CK: Make the most of your engagement with Netguru by communicating with their team regularly — this is important in any partnership that deals with time zone differences.

JL: Know what you’re getting into, and pay attention to their suggestions and ideas to make for a harmonious partnership.

Director of Product Development, Sensor Technology Company
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Sep 2, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru was patient and helpful, and they did a great job developing the apps. The team was also communicative, flexible, and organized, and they were great at following up with the client. Additionally, they cared about the project, and they took responsibility for their work.
"“They committed to deliver something they were proud of.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of product development for a company that creates sensor technology. We currently focus on the boating industry, making sensors to monitor boats for private users and professionals. This monitoring includes data like movement, water level, and more.

We’ve been working since 2018, so we’re still growing. Currently, we have 12 employees.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

Our data is transferred from our hardware to the cloud, so we needed to create an interface to present that data to our customers in a user-friendly but detailed way. Thus, we hired Netguru to help us with app development for iOS and Android.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

First, I gave Netguru the scope of work and the app’s designs that we had previously done with the help of another team. They then reviewed everything and gave me a budgetary estimate. They also told me if the timeline was accurate or if it needed adjustments.

Netguru then developed two native apps for us, one for iOS and one for Android. With this app, our users can monitor their boats from home while they’re docked. The app displays data collected by our sensors so that users can know if their boat is getting flooded or stolen or if their batteries are being drained.

Netguru also implemented analytics for us, so we now can use Google and Firebase Analytics to know the statistics of our apps.

What is the team composition?

I worked with four people from Netguru on a daily basis: Sebastian (Project Manager & PM Team Leader), an Android developer, an iOS developer, and a QA person. We also worked with Aleksandre (Account Manager), whom I frequently spoke to.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I didn’t find Netguru myself — someone else did. I have no idea how we found them, but I know this is our second time working with them. We didn’t want to start from scratch with a new company, so we brought them again.

They already had a good understanding of our products, and we had a good relationship with the project and the account managers. When I met Aleksandre, he was very confident that they would deliver.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €80,000 (approximately $95,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2021, and we wrapped up the project in September 2021.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As we just recently launched the app, we don’t have metrics or statistics that speak about the quality of Netguru’s work. However, I can say that they did a great job, and they were very patient throughout the project.

Although I have a good technical understanding, I’m not a developer myself. Thus, there were things that they explained to me twice, and they didn’t give up until I understood everything clearly.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru’s communication was one of the best parts of working with them. They didn’t procrastinate, and they were great at following up with me. They knew that I was busy, but they politely reached out to me when they needed something from me until they got my answer.

Additionally, Sebastian was very organized, and he built a very good relationship with our team; he was definitely a bridge builder. He also did a great job handling the day-to-day project management.

We used Slack as our communication tool, which went really well. However, as we only had one shared channel, the conversation got a bit messy. We also used ClickUp to manage the project.

I know that Netguru uses Jira because they used it for the previous project with my company, but this time I asked them to use ClickUp because that was the tool we used internally. I also told them that if it was more efficient for them to use Jira, we could have done that, but they agreed to keep using ClickUp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru cares about their work. For example, I knew about some bugs on the iOS app, and I told the team to prioritize them in order of importance. I put one particular bug at the end of the list and told them that we couldn’t spend time solving it. However, the iOS developer told me that he would fix it because he was responsible for it. This said a lot about their great work; they committed to deliver something they were proud of and not something unfinished or with bugs.

Netguru also ensured that we delivered a great UX to our customers. We had a UX design process before developing the apps, but some things didn’t turn out as expected. However, they gave us great feedback to improve the UX. Sometimes we made the changes, and other times we stuck to what we had scoped, but the important part was that they were able to give us that feedback.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have much constructive feedback for them. I know that some of the challenges occurred because we didn’t have time to focus on this project as much as they needed us to. If anything, I think that Sebastian could have been more strict with me.

On the other hand, they could have reduced the time for the meetings, especially since we met on a daily basis. Half-an-hour meetings were too long, and 15 minutes would have sufficed.

Additionally, it would have been good if the QA person had suggested that we test the app earlier. We invited some people to test the app when it was almost done, and they found a lot of things that could be improved.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You need to fully scope your project; don’t leave any loose ends behind. You need to have everything in place, including your requirements, use cases, and user stories. Additionally, make sure that you have the time to work on a project like this; it will require your involvement on a daily basis.

We work in an Agile environment with the most common Scrum rituals and processes. We use Jira, Confluence, and Slack as our main communication tools, and the engineers are involved in most activities.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the engineers is very good. They are very engaged and open to learning new things. They get involved in the company's culture and create a strong relationship with their teammates.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

With one of the engineers, we had a small communication issue due to his level of English but it didn't pose any major problem.

**The Review** — Dec 4, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru's high-quality work and ability to mesh well with the internal staff has set them apart from other vendors. The team possesses strong project management and problem-solving skills, which has made for a pleasant engagement. They're an attentive partner who is able to work independently.
""The quality of their work speaks for itself."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the co-founder and CPO at Shepper. We help businesses across a range of industries such as retail, property, media and utilities to collect insightful data on their physical assets using a network of local trusted people that pick up jobs using our app.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We’d just gotten our series-A funding, and as a startup, we were always working against the clock. At that moment in time, I couldn’t risk employing a big team internally, so I wanted to rely on a really good partner who could get up to speed quickly and scale the team up and down as the project progressed.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

A key component of the platform is the frontend Shepper app, which is the gateway for picking up data collection jobs in the market for our users, whom we call Shepherds. Netguru developed it in React Native. The backend was done by our in-house team.

I created a lot of the wireframes myself, and we kicked off with a UI/UX designer from Netguru. We were mid-rebranding at the time, so we didn’t apply our brand to the app designs. Netguru also helped a bit with the screen design, but we provided most of it.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

They do a lot of content marketing on LinkedIn, and my co-founder at the time knew Netguru through his wife. I thought that I’d give them a go, so I picked up the phone and called.

How much have you invested with them?

The total so far is £425,000 (approximately $566,700 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Netguru in December 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I couldn’t recommend Netguru highly enough, and I’ve been saying that since we struck up a conversation with them. They’re completely different to work with than any other agency.

Fundamentally, we don’t look at Netguru as an agency. They’re a development partner, and I’m very proud of the work they’ve produced. They’ve done a phenomenal job of creating the mobile app.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re working with them remotely, but that’s true for everyone these days. We just wish we could integrate them more into our internal culture, but they’re well-represented within the business. Everyone knows who Netguru is.

Their project management and general team attitude are amazing. They’re the type of team that, if they don’t know something, they’ll find someone internally who does. Everybody supports everybody, so we get a lot more value than just having a team assigned to us.

It’s been a wonderful relationship. They have their own Jira board for our project, and we have a Slack workspace with them. They’re always there when I have a question, which is fantastic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work speaks for itself. It’s almost a given that we’re going to have good quality work, and it’s in their nature to want to help and make suggestions. Netguru listens very well and always tries to find something to do.

They can also work autonomously. Rather than having me guide them in the right direction, they’ll come up with their own suggestions and even challenge me. It’s nice to have a team like that.

A traditional agency would just agree to the work but not deliver the desired result because maybe they hadn’t thought about something. It’s the opposite with Netguru. It’s a collaborative effort, and we all work together for a common goal.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have nothing negative to say. I score them every quarter, and it sometimes seems like they’re doing that too much, but it’s just because they want to gauge how satisfied we are.

We’ve had a few account and project manager changes, but the project’s been ongoing for two years, so that’s quite natural. The project managers we’ve had have been fantastic.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

What I hear a lot from Netguru is that they like the energy I bring, because it makes them really excited. The client should show that they really care about the product, rather than just giving Netguru an app to build and checking in every once in a while.

It’s important to have a good kickoff session and to act as a leader in the environment. Netguru will work better if they can see that it means a lot to you as a business.

**The Review** — Nov 17, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru has played an instrumental role in the product’s development and become an integrated part of the in-house team along the way. They provide access to a variety of skilled resources who come on board as needed. The team takes ownership of their work and strives for continuous improvement.
"“It’s very valuable and cost-effective for us to have part of our development with Netguru.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product with Newst.se, a B2B marketplace for commercial real estate. We’ve been on the market for about 18 months. We connect brokers and real estate owners with companies looking for commercial property, whether it be an office or warehouse. On top of that, we add tools to the supply side that help them reach out to properties faster and essentially find someone to move into their vacant commercial properties as quickly as possible.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

In Sweden, developers, coders, and the technical side of things is fairly expensive; there are high costs for that kind of labor. We decided to go nearshore in Poland — we are in Sweden, and Netguru is in Poland — because the costs are very competitive, and they still provide high-quality resources.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru essentially helped us set up our entire online digital product. They’ve touched upon anything from design UX to product management, front- and backend development, and DevOps. They’ve been involved on every level in terms of developing the product.

We came to the partnership with an idea of what we wanted to achieve, and we wireframed that with Netguru. They came up with high-fidelity designs. It’s a very collaborative and organic effort, and the team that we’re working with is very integrated with our team and process.

The package is hosted on Amazon. It’s a Rails-based stack, primarily, with JavaScript and a couple of React frameworks.

What is the team composition?

We’re currently working with three developers: one frontend and two backend. They’re dedicated to us. There’s also a scrum master on their end. There are other resources that we can add along the way, including QA, design, and DevOps. They are very flexible from that perspective. The core team is always there, and then it’s fairly easy to onboard other resources as needed for certain amounts of time.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We found them through a recommendation. We had a couple of meetings, and we had a good fit straightaway. They understood what we wanted to achieve and laid out the resources we needed. From there, we initiated the operation.

How much have you invested with them?

Our running cost is around $25,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work together began in 2018, and it’s ongoing. They’ve been with us since day one. Our product has been live for 18 months, but we’ve worked with Netguru for about 24 months.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re very integrated and forthcoming. We’ve basically been with the same resources since the start of the engagement, so even though they are outsourced, we really feel that they are a part of the team. We try to give them the ability to feel ownership of the product and what they deliver to us, and they’ve taken to that.

They want to deliver a good product with us. Rather than just sending them specifications, they actually come with suggestions, so it’s a very dynamic and fruitful cooperation. It’s very valuable and cost-effective for us to have part of our development with Netguru.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve never had any issues in terms of meeting deadlines and communicating.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Having worked with a few other providers, I feel like Netguru has a bit of a different approach. It almost seems like they’re a startup in terms of their roles, like a customer success manager. They really try to deliver a quality product, and all of the resources we need are always available.

Overall, it’s a very well-oiled machine. They try to not only deliver something to us but also develop themselves, learn new technologies, and come up with new ideas. For them, it’s not just about delivering specifications, but also delivering a really good product for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that’s worth mentioning or that affects the delivery for us. You can always get better at different things, but at the end of the day, we’re very happy with Netguru’s final delivery.

Any advice for potential customers?

I don’t know if we just had a great team fit, but based on my experience working with Netguru and learning how they work, I think it’s very valuable to try to integrate them as a team. That way, they will definitely feel more ownership. They have communication skills that make it possible for them to integrate, so if you allow them to, they will, and good things come out of that.

**Feedback Summary**: To stakeholder satisfaction, Netguru produced excellent deliverables on time. The team was not only professional but also flexible. By providing a capable team that delivered a satisfactory solution, Netguru secured an opportunity for future partnership.
""If I had another project, I would directly start it with Netguru and not look for other providers."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CTO of CRIF Bürgel, a financial services company based in Germany. I’m responsible for the whole architecture, infrastructure, and security in the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We wanted to develop a new product for identifying fraud. The product would use different strategies, including device fingerprinting and biometrics.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru developed a fraud prevention solution using best-in-class services. They implemented a microservice and infrastructure as code (IaC) architecture. Their team used Redis, CockroachDB, Rancher Kubernetes, AWS, React.js, and Node.js.

What is the team composition?

We started with two developers and increased the team to four developers and three DevOps team members. We increased it further from there, adding a product designer, a scrum master, and a product owner.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I looked for outsourcing companies on Clutch and shortlisted 10 of them. Netguru ranked well, and we had the best communication with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $300,000–$400,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Netguru in late-February 2019, and the project finished in February 2020.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything was high-quality and delivered on time.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

While my product owner was in contact with their developers, I was in contact with Netguru’s project manager. Their agility was good as was the quality of their people.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If I had another project, I would directly start it with Netguru and not look for other providers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One challenge for Netguru may be keeping their team motivated during the coronavirus. However, there was nothing that they could’ve done better. Netguru just needs to continue in this direction.

**The Review** — Sep 14, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The client was very happy with Netguru’s ability to deliver. The Netguru team narrowed down an initially broad scope to optimize the application’s impact and functionality. Customers can expect a friendly and helpful partner who will make the development process clear and understandable.
"“I recommend working with them.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of elScript SA, a legal annotation service. I’m developing an application that is like a digital document for lawyers or legal practitioners. It allows them to annotate legal documentation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

The challenge was with the algorithm running the application. The product works a little differently than others. Most annotation tools detect that your annotations remain the same and are the ones being modified over time. In the case of the application I had in mind, it’s the text that gets changed, and the annotations are there to remain as a knowledge base.

We needed to develop an algorithm that helped the application to sort the differences between two legal texts and to port over the annotations to the next text.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru built the application. They did design and front- and backend development. They also developed the algorithm.

What is the team composition?

Most of the time, there was a project manager, a frontend programmer, two backend programmers, a designer, and a QA person.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I looked at a review site for developers. I was looking for someone in Eastern Europe because I wasn’t able to afford Western European programmers. I targeted Poland, as I knew they had really good programmers over there.

I found some good reviews about Netguru. I went on their site and was convinced they were the right company for us because they had a very clear article about how to talk with developers if you don’t know anything about development. It made things very easy for me to know what I had to do to help them understand my project.

How much have you invested with them?

My company spent €200,000 ($237,400 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from February 2019–July 2020. We had an MVP released by the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020. Everything went live in July.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very happy with them. They delivered what I wanted. The application is functional. We’re testing it with users. We’ll be starting a campaign to see if we have more users that will pay to use the application.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was good. I didn’t know anything about this kind of stuff, and Netguru helped me. They were good guides for me. They set the different steps we needed to go through, and everything was clear from the beginning. We had 1–2 initial Zoom sessions, and then we used email or Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru was very helpful in explaining the process and how it was going to work. They were good at designing what the MVP should be. Initially, it was a very broad project. They were able to focus on what would help us to be impactful and leave the rest of the bells and whistles for later. Discussions were good. The relationship was always peaceful and friendly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes the QA could have been a little better. I had to do some proofreading myself.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend working with them. Go to Netguru with some mockups and clear ideas of what you want to achieve. Tell them who your target users are.

"“The people on the team are also pretty good. We enjoy working with them.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief product officer of a digital wealth management firm based in Berlin, Germany.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

I had a new project with a significant scope and I didn’t necessarily want to bring on internal resources because it was a temporary change in scope.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re currently working with to provide two React engineers and two Salesforce engineers. They work on our product team as part of a large cross-functional product we’re working on.

They take part in our sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning. They do provide their input to help make our team and work more efficient.

What is the team composition?

We work with four of them at a time.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I reached out to a number of companies that I’ve met with before. Netguru pitched to the company in the past. I went through my due diligence and looked at cost-effectiveness and how we would work together. Then I did a technical review of the engineers themselves to make sure that they would meet our technical requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between €50,000–€100,000 (approximately $60,000–$120,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2020.

The team's high-quality deliverables and status as a leader in technology architecture makes them a valuable partner. Their commitment to learning internal processes also sets them apart.
""They are phenomenal engineers."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an engineering manager for a prescription medicine startup.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed some mobile development done but lacked the internal resources.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru provided a team to work collaboratively with our internal team. They took care of some business requests that desperately needed to be attended to. They also work on development, deliver full-on business requirement features, and do some consulting.

What is the team composition?

Initially, there was a program manager, a senior Android engineer, two iOS engineers, and a QA engineer. Currently, I interact with a senior frontend engineer, two backend engineers, and a QA teammate.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

They were referred by one of our senior directors who had worked with them previously.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together around August 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Netguru is integrated into our internal teams, so we have monthly check-ins. If there are issues, the team leader addresses them. They are phenomenal engineers and a great asset to our team. They produce high-quality work, and we are satisfied with them.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We don’t fully utilize their project manager because I took on a lot of that role myself. Essentially, she acts as an engagement manager, making sure their engineers are engaged and happy.

She also answers their questions and makes sure that their needs are met. We use Jira extensively and communicate mainly via Slack. We also have daily stand-ups. The team is flexible and available.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They onboarded onto the tech stack very quickly. They took the time to learn our tooling and tech and to comb through the entire code. They do this better than any vendor I’ve worked with in the past.

Additionally, they are leaders in the field regarding the architecture of their code. Netguru constantly looks at new technologies and architecture, as well as new and old principles, and they take pride in being great tech leaders.

They’re also good at pointing out issues and consulting. For example, they helped tremendously with our Android codebase. They integrate well and blend in with the synergy of our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be nice if they had a process for their engineers to agree to work a certain time in order to fit their client’s schedule. I asked the account manager about this in the beginning and was told that wasn’t their policy.

Their engineers were free to work whatever time schedule they chose. They were more accommodating in reality when we needed them to be, so it was never a real issue for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them as part of your team. They want to provide the utmost integration because they care and want to do what’s right for their client.

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru delivered an aesthetically pleasing app to the satisfaction of users. The team invested time to understand the project’s vision and accommodated product ideas, establishing a dependable partnership. They guided the engagement with valuable suggestions to support continued collaboration.
""Netguru has been down to earth, approaching everything humbly."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the directing manager and founder of The ORIGIN AG.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

I had an idea for an app that consumers can use to voice their thoughts and feelings without looking at their screens. I wanted users to be able to reflect on their ideas but was a novice in terms of building a product like this from scratch. I needed a partner to develop the product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru built our app for users to record, store, and analyze thoughts, notes, tasks, and dreams. Their team developed the product for iOS from the ground up. We will build an Android version but believe iOS market segments will be more interested in the tool.

From the beginning, I had strong ideas, which I sketched for their team. Netguru was adaptive throughout the project. I brought them my ideas as to how users could access the different parts of the app, but they ensured we followed best practices.

With the platform, users can speak what they think and feel without having to look at their phone screens. The speech is recorded and transcribed. Their team integrated the app with Apple’s transcription engine, speech2text algorithms, and voice assistants to transcribe user’s recordings into organized notes. Then, the transcript gets stored and sorted in a creative interface. They implemented game mechanics, which enable users to interact with their ideas and categories on the home screen.

We haven’t done a hard launch, so that’s coming next. At that point, we’ll be working to find the sweet spots and pivoting on features if necessary. We’re approaching the process with an attitude of building the app with our users.

What is the team composition?

The team fluctuated between five and seven people. We worked with three developers who supported the main developer. We also engaged with a product owner, a product leader, and quality assurance teammates.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

A colleague recommended Netguru as their team developed an app for him. We decided to visit and appreciated their effort to understand our vision deeply. There was also a large degree of transparency in regard to cost, which I valued because I’m new to this market. At the end of the day, I had a gut feeling based on the in-person meeting

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around €140,000 (approximately $155,500 USD)with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Netguru in January 2019, and it’s ongoing. We’ve gone back into development to fix some bugs and upgrade basic features. I don’t see why I wouldn’t continue to work with them.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done a few focus groups. Generally, the feedback has been excellent, and the product’s aesthetic has been a big plus. Users tend to think the platform’s quite fun to use. They speak, watch the app transcribe their words, and then see their thoughts stored. It's a new tool in the market, so people are a bit confused in the beginning. To help users understand the platform, we’re creating a more explicit onboarding process in combination with marketing materials.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

They've performed exceptionally well. Usually, we've had stand up meetings every morning via Google meet. Our primary method of communication was Slack. Netguru team was not afraid to speak their minds. We’ve built a close relationship.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team has been most impressive. Netguru has been down to earth, approaching everything humbly. They’ve spoken their minds throughout the collaboration.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind right away. I can't complain.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Go and meet the Netguru team in person. Shop around to compare offerings and teams.

We had been without a designer for a while. In the process of hiring an in-house resource, we decided to go with an outside firm on a rolling basis.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

It was not a particularly well-scoped engagement; we needed help on ongoing projects on an as-needed basis from Netguru’s design resources. We worked with one designer in Poland who participated in our daily team stand-ups. She put together a style guide for us and completed various product design tasks that had been in our pipeline for a while. The style guide was UI-intensive; it specified pixels, colors, fonts, and shadings, among other things. The designer utilized those elements to build out product features and enhancements. This involved thinking through the UX carefully.

What is the team composition?

The primary contributor was a designer, but we also worked daily with a Netguru project manager who kept work organized and on track.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I previously worked with Netguru at another company that utilized them as one of their primary design and development resources. After working with them for over a year, I can speak to Netguru’s outstanding work and an incredible caliber of talent.

Working with them was also a very convenient process; I could leave comments on designs at midnight and find the feedback addressed by the next morning’s standup. We had a rapid design cycle as a result.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2019, and the engagement will wrap up by the end of August 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our team and CEO are impressed by their work. Our frontend developers are very excited to start building the new design system that Netguru outlined for us. We’re using the new style guide to reskin our app.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

The designer used Sketch and InVision. I would write a ticket for her detailing the product requirements. She would then put together a design in Sketch and upload it to InVision, where I’d leave comments if I had questions and tweaks to make. This workflow repeated for every task, and it worked very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru’s bar for talent is extremely high. In my last role, one of their designers mentioned that they interview 200 people for every design position that they fill. Their interview process is rigorous, and as a result, they attract top talent. In addition, Netguru has an incredible remote culture. It really makes working together easy from a client’s perspective. Lastly, their style is amazingly crisp, clean, and consistent across their work with multiple clients that have different needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. I've been very happy with Netguru’s work throughout the entire engagement.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would recommend having a daily stand-up. All it needs to be is 10–20 minutes every day. Since I’m in the Central time zone, mornings work best for me. That's Netguru’s afternoon, so every morning I show up and they told me what they just worked on all day.

**The Review** — Jul 30, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: They’ve developed bug-free software with minimal downtime, which has generated praise from users. Netguru has consistently delivered well-tested solutions which don’t need much maintenance following launch. They’re knowledgeable and they suggest useful iterations for their projects.
""They never make promises that they can’t keep."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of Odin Company, a psychometric software company. We develop very innovative software apps that are used mostly B2B. We do a combination of tests on unconscious motives and conscious behavior. It all takes 10 minutes online.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We had way too many bugs in our software development. We were looking for a more professional business to improve our software.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

When we switched to Netguru, they confirmed that our software needed a lot of work. We started to revitalize our existing software to make it more solid and consistent. Now we’re at the end of the lifecycle of that software because with the new plans we have, it’s better and cheaper to rebuild it. We already aligned that process with Netguru. They’re more like a partner to us than just a software development company. It will be a development process that happens in several phases.

We’re using Ruby on Rails coders and architects. They help with front- and backend development. They weren’t involved in the design–we already redesigned the complete, new software. We created wireframes and screens. We first have to get out the proof of concept for the new business proposition because that will bring us to the exit of our business.

We’re making our product highly scalable. We’re about to launch 3-4 scrum groups for the end development of our new product. They’re going to build an engine in which we can easily connect many people to jobs or training options. Our software is sort of a black book that combines candidates for training possibilities. Once a candidate takes a test, we match them up with jobs or training opportunities that match the results of that test. It will be a standalone system.

What is the team composition?

The project manager manages the team. There’s an account manager, project manager, a quality manager, two coders, and an architect. I also work directly with coders and designers.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

Someone I know had a warm relationship with them. We asked them to review our software and they were very thorough. We were convinced they were the right partner for us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent 300,000–400,000 euros ($335,000–466,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2016 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are very happy with their work over the last three and a half years. We haven’t had even one bug. It’s an advantage for us that we can scale the team whenever we’d like.

Our clients are very happy about the percentage of uptime, which is extremely high. The software is very solid. They put in sufficient tests and live protocol to test new software. New releases are very solid and our customers hardly noted anything about maintenance.

The setback is almost all the developers we knew are not available, which is normal because they can’t be waiting for us. Last winter, we had to restart the team. It comes with how we work, but it would be interesting if their backlog for transfer of knowledge to new teams could be a bit more consistent.

I understand if we don’t build anything for a year’s time, they have to move on. My solution for that is that we visit them once in a while. We take two or three days to invest in the time to get it all up and running again. We are very happy with them as partners.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is really good. I’ve been having troubles with account management because I’ve had some account managers who came in after the project manager did her work and started it all over again. I don’t have time for that. I’m very honest about that and am sort of blunt sometimes. They’re very open to whatever we need even if it disrupts their structure.

The core of it all is the project manager. I have a real connection with the project manager and the coders. At first, I didn’t have a bond with the account managers. They were flying in without asking. I didn’t see their value until a few weeks ago when I met the new account manager. He does what he should do and he’s really adding something to the project manager. He thinks with us and helps us to position things. He’s a contextual guy, which is really good.

We started communicating with email, but at a certain point, we had to bring everything into a ticket system. I hate it, so I hired an AI student to take care of my tickets. She’s been the middleman between me and Netguru regarding the ticket system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really like that the people at Netguru add some things to the deliverables I want or need. I know quite well what I’m looking for and they come up with the smart solutions to do it so much better than I could think of. They are so solid.

What you see is what you get. They’re really young and are so good at this–they never make promises that they can’t keep. Estimations are secure.

We had a workshop with them last winter. We were visualizing the customer journey of the new software to be built. One of the coders asked us to take another 30 minutes to guide him through the process. It was a courageous thing to do rather than just pretending to get it all. Through that, we found out we missed a few things too. We’re very happy with them as a partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The account manager should be aware of how a customer works. I’m a content person and I like to know all the details because I have to sell it to my customers. The project manager is key for me. I don’t feel the account manager needs to be the person in charge. If I were Netguru, I’d reconsider how they divide responsibilities in their company.

Everything they do is highly protocoled, but it would help them to have cultural awareness of how other countries function.

**The Review** — May 29, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Netguru significantly benefitted business, creating a different structure within the company. Their personable approach creates their motivated and skilled developers. The workflow between teams was efficient. Their accessibility supplemented the potential for continued engagement.
""Netguru looks after their developers."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO & founder at SixEye Limited, a remote management platform for lighting and AV control systems. We’re unique in the fact that we support devices from multiple manufacturers and allow system integrators to have their own portal with their own branding. We can manage the projects of multiple manufacturers that have integrated with our platform all in one place. The devices connect directly.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We were struggling with hiring developers. Initially, our team was developing our server application, but we needed a frontend developer. With two others not working out and a deadline approaching, I started looking for outsourcing firms that could provide developers.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We started with a frontend developer, and eventually added a backend developer. We kept the front- and backend arrangement, although the developers rotated after a while. We also added a QA, who also covered our own developers' work. The frontend developer used React with Redux and other JavaScript libraries. The API was developed with Ruby on Rails by the backend developer.

It’s a multi-tenant application so the front- and backend need to manage the concept of multiple customers interacting with the same application and support custom domains. The front end supports theming for each customer. They implemented a frontend design that we created. We needed to display data, sometimes in real-time. The frontend had to know which device it was rendering. On the backend, permissions have been a huge feature over the past year. It’s complicated because each device has different abilities, and each ability has a permission. The backend developer was instrumental in the design of our permissions system, designing a significant part of it herself.

What is the team composition?

There was always one frontend developer, one backend developer, and one QA. Each developer comes with a code reviewer, and I’m in contact with the project manager.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I searched Google for outsourcing companies in Europe because I wanted to be roughly in the same time zone. We talked to Netguru and another company. While Netguru wasn’t the least expensive, they were well set-up. From the first interview, I got the impression that engagement with them would be smooth. While we didn’t end up using them for this, they also had a lot of design experience and had won several awards. They found a developer, and they subcontracted, which didn’t make a difference to us. The process was completely seamless.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested between $50,000–$199,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2017 until May 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s easy to work with them. The frontend developer was skilled in JavaScript and the flows of developing a frontend app. Netguru helped us learn that we could have an entirely remote team. We now have the confidence to have employees working entirely remotely. For example, our developer based in Uruguay. We met her once for two days. Two years ago, I wouldn’t believe that was a possibility.

We simply wouldn’t be where we are without Netguru. We’ve matured as a company, getting through initial milestones such as showing at tradeshows and demonstrating the unique features. People are now prepared to back us financially for a bit longer. We now have a remote team that’s less expensive than outsourcing. Netguru will be our first choice if we decide to make a mobile app. We would happily hand over a chunk of work to their team. If money were no object, we’d continue with them.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager was excellent. He came to visit us in London and was communicative with his developers and our team. The project manager made sure to find out if anyone had concerns, and would even give me a hard time if he thought I wasn’t managing things well. When they rotated a couple of the frontend developers, it felt like losing our in-house staff because of how closely we worked together. The code reviewers take the additional burden off of our team. It was well-managed, and they delivered a great service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru looks after their developers. They evoke the sense that they enjoy what they do. The developers aren’t only talented but motivated. Despite growing as a company, nothing was ever too much trouble, and they were never too busy. Their team was readily available. If a particular skill was needed on a project, they could find someone to do it within two weeks.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Before you hire Netguru, being able to talk to the incoming developer would be nice. I have to temper that with the fact that a lot of their clients come to them with specs and money and perhaps are less concerned with who their developers are. I’m an engineer along with my lead developer, and we know what we’re doing, but we’re only two people and care who we're working with.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give Netguru a spec and have them deliver on it.

**The Review** — May 1, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: They delivered successful apps that have received positive internal feedback. Netguru follows an effective management and tracking process. They can scale their teams as needed and work from discussions through functional deliverables.
""They were really good at turning my ideas into programming."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of an online education platform for web and mobile. Our platform enables anyone who wants to teach something to teach it. For example, someone could teach English to girls in Afghanistan or I could teach script writing to my neighbor. It works online and offline.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

I needed a company to develop our website and mobile app following a few unsuccessful previous engagements.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our website and mobile app. It’s a very complex website with social media features, and it’s in 10 languages. We only connect people to people. Most applications are people to machines, but we wanted to get people together. Sometimes we call our website “dating for knowledge”.

We are planning to work together for another two weeks following our launch. We will pause for three months while we do some marketing and user testing. Then we will continue to develop as usual.

What is the team composition?

We have one team leader.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I looked all over the world after failing with three other companies. Netguru invited me to go to a workshop for two days to look at the project. They said if we chose them, we wouldn’t have to pay for the workshop. If we didn’t go with them, we’d pay 2,000 euros for the workshop. That was very clever of them and very fair.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2017 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have a very complex app and web page now. I’m happy with the quality of work. It wasn’t initially clear how much it would cost to finish the project, and we ended up going over budget. It’s like building a house – we changed a lot of things and it became more expensive than expected. I learned it’s very difficult to budget a website.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is outstanding. I couldn’t talk to them like a technician, but only like a teacher or someone who understands what people need. I could talk to them more emotionally than technically, and they were really good at turning my ideas into programming.

I speak with the team lead for 10 minutes daily. We have a team meeting once a week where I talk to the whole team and they report to me what they did the previous week and what they’re planning for the next week. They’re very clear. We mostly communicate through Slack. They’re very clear.

When one developer disappeared and took with him three weeks of work, Netguru didn’t make us pay for it and took it on as their own problem. They’re very fair, and I’m happy even after two years.

We negotiated a certain rate for each programmer or designer per day. The team leader from Netguru and I could decide how many more resources we needed. We could change the workload and the financial load day-by-day, which was very convenient for me in terms of planning the financial flow.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very transparent about where my money goes. I can talk directly to all the developers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

For the amount of time we worked with them, they could have given us a bigger discount. Long-term customers should get better rates.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Know what you’re doing. Plan your website or your project better than I did. Do your homework and don’t rely on your developers to do it for you.

Their proactiveness supplemented their professional management style. Despite time differences, Netguru provides exceptional and informative resources.
""I’m impressed with the excellence Netguru displays in their work."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of a social shopping application. Users can discover products from real people. We enable consumers to upload a picture and tag the item so others can buy it.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

Netguru built our entire platform using existing code. We needed their team to develop our mobile app, focusing on performance and features.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our platform is built for iOS. We work with them in terms of developing stories around the features and architecture we wanted to create. They’ve helped our team deal with performance issues and structure to ensure app stability and maintaining our growing user base. Once we decide on business and technical requirements with their team, we work in sprints to develop those components. Those components and features are deployed on a weekly basis. I tackled most of the design but did receive advice from one of their designers.

What is the team composition?

Our team includes a project manager, a QA specialist, two native frontend engineers, and two backend engineers who specialize in React.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

Previously, we worked with another company and weren’t pleased with the results. We searched Clutch to find an agency that would solve a lot of issues we were having. After finding Netguru, we reached out.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in January 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been able to deploy a functioning platform that our team is happy with. Netguru has excellent output in terms of their work quality and ethic.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We have several touch points with Netguru. Our stand-ups with their team take place every morning. During those meetings, we spend time tuning, planning, and reviewing our previous sprints. Our teams discuss what worked and what didn’t.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with the excellence Netguru displays in their work. Their ability to figure out solutions for hard problems and then execute the solutions makes them stand out. We had a frustrating experience with our previous team, and at times, it felt like pulling teeth for every aspect of the project. Netguru came into the engagement proactively, detailing what’s getting done and how. They always deliver.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The hard thing about offshore work was finding time to have those touch points. My partner and I wake up at 6 a.m. to be on stand-ups with them, to make sure there was a lot of time overlap. If there isn’t enough time, you can make do with that. It’s a bit frustrating, but honestly, Netguru has always provided us with the resources to figure everything out. Different people help us think about growth and metrics. We have access to a variety of skillsets. There is machine learning built into our platform. Some of their team members are skilled in that area and algorithms.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I think everybody is different, but I advise customers to create as many touch points as possible. Have those conversations to align properly. Like with any engineering team, you have to make sure they’re focused on what they’re doing and meant to deliver. As with any team, regardless of location, there can be times where things get lost in translation. It’s important to be clear with expectations.

""Their team is full of knowledgeable people who can answer questions unrelated to our project."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of product for an online estate agency. We provide a software platform for landlords.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We engaged Netguru to develop our custom platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru built our platform using Node.js in the backend and Ember in the frontend. We had an idea of what we wanted to do, and their team helped flesh it out. They found solutions and suggested alternate ways of accomplishing our requirements.

The platform allows landlords to track their marketing efforts. Landlords can see how many people looked at their ads and make adjustments in the ads (such as price changes). They can check property happenings and send messages to our team over the platform. The solution interacts with several external systems to collect and update data.

What is the team composition?

The project manager serves as our primary point of contact. We have direct contact with developers as well.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We looked at many options for outsourced development. After reaching out to friends and colleagues, we received a referral to Netguru. Their reasonable rates and our initial conversations impressed us, so we chose them to complete this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$199,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2017, and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Netguru has executed the solution while providing valuable consulting and advising services along the way. We plan on enhancing the platform and engaging Netguru to help us with other technical projects as well.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is highly accessible and responds immediately to any queries. They provide summaries and updates of our discussions. We communicate via Slack and coordinate sprints through Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Netguru makes communication straightforward and efficient. Their team is full of knowledgeable people who can answer questions unrelated to our project. Our collaboration works like a partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, it’s been a very positive experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that you fully understand your vision and needs in advance. Netguru can work fast once you give them what they need to execute your project.

**The Review** — Jan 28, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Despite some lack of consistency in the personnel, the team has produced good results, working hard to address the issues in the legacy platform while also adding excellent features. They have great members of staff who go above and beyond to ensure requirements are met.
"“Netguru is definitely the best I’ve worked with.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the senior software architect for an online learning platform.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We purchased our learning management system (LMS) based in Ruby on Rails, which is more difficult to find talent onshore for. We have no internal development staff, so it had to be outsourced.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed several features, including an active status, which what a student goes through from onboarding until they start taking their first course. They’ve also implemented workflows and done a plethora of bug fixes, both visually in the UI and programmatically in the services.

They do maintenance and corrections to our data itself. We’re going to be moving onto an entirely new platform and will be hiring in-house staff and onshore consulting. While we’re doing that, Netguru will actively maintain and deliver fixes and features on the legacy application.

What is the team composition?

Most of my interaction with them is through the project manager or their technical lead.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I inherited them. Their skill set isn’t very common anymore, but it was probably one of the reasons my boss had chosen them—they specialize in Ruby on Rails development.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2017 and it’s still ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m very pleased with what they do. I’ve worked with other offshore teams and Netguru is definitely the best I’ve worked with.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

We have two weekly calls, with ad hoc calls once in a while. I also have an open line for 30 minutes every morning for emergencies, which we rarely use. We use Jira, but most of our document sharing is done via Google Drive.

I bounce ideas off the tech lead who definitely knows what he’s doing. They address on any issues instantly—anything that’s critical, even off hours, they’re right on it and working on it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their project manager is amazing and is constantly trying to improve her team. I’d recommend her to anybody. They’re constantly tweaking their internal process to make it more efficient, agile, and to suit our need.

They have excellent attitudes and our tech lead is amazing too. You don’t often find companies that are able to retain someone at that technical level. We had an onsite visit to them a couple months ago. They’re super nice, very welcoming, and always very open-minded about changes or doing things in a different way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s been a significant amount of change on their team. They have a practice of rotating juniors. Though they always ask before they do and don’t charge us, sometimes it takes time away from senior resources. For the most part, we’re happy with what they’re doing and most of our concerns simply have to do with the nature of offshore development.

With any offshore talent, there’s always time zone challenges because of coordination and logistics. Any delays weren’t their fault though, as the legacy application was extremely poorly written. Most of their efforts involved correcting problems that already existed or trying to understand what a previous developer had done wrong.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to understand your needs and make sure that Netguru fits them. They’re strictly a Ruby on Rails and Node.js house. As long as you understand that, I’d recommend them.

**Feedback Summary**: With a diligent and collaborative work ethic, Netguru has completed a high-quality MVP. As they develop new functions, the team continues to approach each task with an eager and focused attitude. Their organizational and technical skills set the foundation for a positive working relationship.
"“Even though we don’t see each other on a daily basis, they feel like part of our internal team.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of a FinTech company. We develop technology for the financial advice sector.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

Currently, the interactions between financial advisors and clients are traditionally done in person. Advisors visit clients at their home to discuss objectives and make plans. Face-to-face meetings are clearly very productive; however, they’re also time-consuming and costly. We wanted to build a software solution that compliments those in-person meetings, but also provides a channel for digital interactions. We had a clear idea of our value proposition and the features we wanted on the platform, but we needed a vendor to build it.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru flew their project manager and a few designers from Poland for a kick-off session with our team. We first discussed the context of the project and the business challenges we were looking to solve. Then, we provided them with a specific set of requests and some initial designs. After they reviewed that information, they shared their feedback, and we collaborated on a final plan for the software.

Once we agreed on the designs, their team made some final adjustments before handing them over to the development team. The developers started by building the core platform and the basic functionalities. Since then, we’ve brought on more developers to work on creating and implementing the rest of the features quickly and efficiently.

It’s an ongoing project, but the finished product will facilitate interactions between financial advisors and their clients.

What is the team composition?

I interface with Netguru’s entire team on a daily basis.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We ran a small procurement initiative where we contacted about six different agencies. We shared the same request with each vendor and analyzed their responses. Some companies seemed to be more focused on marketing rather than engineering, so we ruled them out. Our ideal partner needed to not only have experience in design and marketing but also demonstrate the capability to overcome complex technical challenges. Ultimately, we chose Netguru because they offered a balanced skillset for a reasonable price, and they’re in a nearby time zone.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2017, and the project is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t launched yet. They’ve developed a high-level MVP, but we want to add more features before we introduce the solution to the market.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

The Netguru team is communicative and responsive. They follow more of an agile approach. We have weekly planning meetings every Monday morning where they share the work they completed in the previous week and establish what they’ll deliver at the next meeting. Every resource on their team actively reaches out whenever they have a question about the scope, features, plans, or any other aspect of the project. It’s been a very interactive collaboration.

I was heavily involved in the day-to-day management in the beginning, but they’ve since found their rhythm. I pulled back a bit, which was very helpful. Now, I can allocate my time to other important initiatives and leave the technical details to them, knowing that they’d contact me whenever necessary.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They offer a good quality-to-cost ratio, which led us to choose them as a partner in the first place. Additionally, they’re fun to work with and approach their work with a can-do attitude. At this point, I’ve developed a good working relationship with their developers. If I reach out to them with an issue, suggestion, or questions, they do the appropriate research and come back with a thought-out response. Even though we don’t see each other on a daily basis, they feel like part of our internal team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes, I feel that the project management is more focused on individual deliverables rather than the project as a whole. Usually, I have to approach them with what I think we need to do, and they help me define the next steps from there. However, I’ve never built a technology-based business before, so they have a lot more expertise in that field. I’d like them to be a bit more proactive and come to me with suggestions for how we should manage the production process.

Any advice for potential customers?

I think starting with a small team from Netguru worked very well. We settled into a workflow with three developers and a few designers and scaled the team once we found our rhythm and had the core platform up and running. The new resources increased our capabilities and helped us develop new features quickly, but I think it would’ve been a little premature to start with a large team. I recommend other clients consider starting the engagement with just a few resources to get a feel for the relationship.

**The Review** — Sep 18, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: The team’s agile approach not only produced a quality app, but also had a positive long-term effect on internal methodologies. Netguru was constantly available for discussion, which proved helpful during a miscommunication about cost. Expect stellar designs and a professional environment.
""I always enjoyed meeting with them, even during the tough discussions about cost."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a risk and compliance manager at a short services organization, which is part of a large consumer products company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We moved to a new office and transitioned from an open-space concept to an open-collaboration space. Before, employees had their own desks but now sat in divided basecamps that fit each group’s function. We needed a mobile app that would enable coworkers to locate themselves in the new office and find colleagues.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Netguru developed the iOS and Android app using Bluetooth technology. The solution let employees not only find colleagues but also explore the various basecamps. Heatmaps identified the high-focus areas and quiet zones where staff could choose to work. Users could also track occupied and vacant conference rooms.

What is the team composition?

The project manager was our main point of contact. We also interacted with the developers and one designer.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We considered cost, quality, and innovation during our search. We knew the concept of the app was new and some vendors may have challenges building it according to our vision. Netguru’s amazing portfolio and reasonable prices stood out from the other vendors we considered.

How much have you invested with them?

The amount is confidential. We split the cost with another part of our parent company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in October 2017, and development ended in June 2018. Netguru completed the app’s final version, and we are now discussing next steps for delivery.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Netguru’s agile methodology had a positive impact on our team. The project was our first time using the approach, and it changed how we do things in the company. We also shared the same values as Netguru. During informal talks, the team was engaged, honest, and helpful.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

As the client, we were responsible for ensuring that Netguru had as much time as needed for the project. We used Jira and Slack for the first time with Netguru; both tools were very helpful. As an alternative to email, Slack made everything easy to find. We had weekly calls and spoke with the team as needed. In addition to being available, the team had good information flows and effective sprints. The designer’s work was particularly amazing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had a positive experience. Although I don’t have experience working with other app developers, I would confidently recommend Netguru because they produce quality work. Besides quality, the app’s visual and responsive design distinguished it from others.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The first project manager didn’t calculate the cost properly and the price appeared higher than what we had agreed. Although this was a one-person issue, Netguru as a whole deserved some blame.

Even though we had some serious discussions about cost, they were never on a personal level. We disagreed, but the conversation never became aggressive or impolite. The team had good values and a positive environment; everyone seemed happy.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients don’t have to worry about quality or timely deliveries. Netguru will professionally fulfill their promises. However, all prospective customers should discuss cost because vendors make their proposals as attractive as possible; the prices may not be realistic.

""They’re an extension of our team and are fully engaged in what we do."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Alteos GmbH (Axa Konzern AG) is a software company that develops insurance platforms that allow multi-digital e-commerce and other partners to quickly launch their insurance products.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed a development team to work on the backend of our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided us with a resource that met our requirements. They became a part of our team remotely and worked on the backend development.

What is the team composition?

We have one backend engineer, one project manager, and one QA manager.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We did market research into software houses that could support us in the early and later stages. Out of the six we interviewed, Netguru came first.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2018 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The onboarding process went well and they’ve done a good job. They’re an extension of our team and are fully engaged in what we do.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Their responsiveness is really great. There’s almost no difference between working with our team members in-house and them being remote. For engineering, it’s really straightforward.

We’re satisfied with the project management process. We’re in touch with them ten times a day usually, and receive direct feedback from everyone on the team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're able to quickly onboard. They have a good preselection process for the people they employ—everyone is very high level.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be cheaper.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important to stay in touch and be in the process together. Otherwise, the results might be disappointing. Communicate often.

**The Review** — Jun 4, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: Despite the short-term nature of the initial scope, Netguru’s expertise and in-depth technical knowledge have cemented their role as key partners in the engagement. They’ve cultivated strong interpersonal relationships, which has helped build trust and secure future collaboration.
"“Their developers are also committed to our project, which speaks volumes about their character.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the VP of product for a technological company. We’ve developed a personal robot product for domestic use. It’s a telepresence device that functions as an autonomous personal assistant.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

When we established our company, we lacked the employees needed to build the product. However, we didn’t want to waste time waiting until we'd recruited all of our in-house personnel to start the project, so we approached Netguru. Initially, they served as our development team to execute our concept. As we amassed an internal team of qualified developers, they continued to work with us, providing a range of mobile app development services.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

As I've mentioned, we contracted our work to them while we were building up our in-house team. However, it was such a comfortable partnership that we decided to continue the engagement for the entire project. They currently serve as an extension of our team, doing mostly Android development and QA testing, though they’ve also done some iOS work.

Recently, we’ve become large enough to bring the project in-house, so we’re changing the nature of the relationship. We're going to keep all the core assets and intellectual property internal. However, we plan to continue contracting them for stand-alone projects unrelated to the core software, which they would manage themselves.

What is the team composition?

We typically work with four people, including a project manager, a lead developer, and an iOS developer. Their resources are talented and trustworthy, so it's fun to work with them. They’re always curious about emerging technologies and are really cooperative.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I joined the project after they’d started working here, so I'm unsure about the details.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work lasted from January 2016–June 2018.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Beyond being capable developers, they’ve brought a strong work culture to our organization. We’ve even implemented a few of their processes, benefiting immensely from their QA procedures. Every 4–6 months, one of their professionals would review our apps and provide an external analysis of our code. This allows us to gain invaluable perspective into our work.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

They're cooperative and flexible with our schedules. Here, in Tel Aviv, we rest on Fridays and work on Sundays, so there’s always a two-day gap between us and the rest of the world. Despite this, our schedules are well synced.

Their developers are committed to our project, which speaks volumes about their character. Over time, we’ve developed a good personal relationship with the team. If I need them to work a few extra hours on the weekend, they cooperate with us. We have daily meetings and use Slack and other tools to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that they’ve maintained the same key personnel throughout our project. With outsourced work, the vendor often moves people around assignments. However, it was important to me that their developers didn’t move to other projects while working with us. If a developer needed to leave the project, Netguru made sure to bring in a replacement as early as possible. That way, the next person would have enough time to learn about our objectives and methods.

I also value their breadth of expertise, ranging from their QA services to their project management. Whenever we have a problem, we know that we can ask a number of people to find a solution. They have a vast and knowledgeable community of developers that offer crucial insights into some of the new technologies that we’re experimenting with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Due to the nature of our project, we sometimes have to send them custom hardware to facilitate development. However, because their developers work remotely all over Poland, we need to send multiple devices to various locations. If we were working with a more centralized team, this wouldn't be an issue.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

At the end of the day, it’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the product is developed correctly. If there are discrepancies between the product requirement documents (PRD) and the final outcome, the customer still shares some of the culpability. Customers should work closely with the team to make sure that the project is moving in the expected direction. Having regular check-ins also helps mitigate misunderstandings.

**Feedback Summary**: The whole engagement has been much more successful than originally expected. Netguru helped launch a viable MVP rather than simply validating a proof of concept, which was the primary goal at the outset. End-users have shared only positive feedback.
""[T]hey don’t just build the software for you, they help you understand things in the industry you need to know."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the founder of Kuingia, which is a business news and information service, giving revenue generators and owners of large companies the ability to access and capture relevant information that can be retained within the organization to allow everyone access.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We had no technical resources in-house to build our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They gave us a wireframe well beyond our budget, which was enough for them to determine our concept, then they simplified it. This version allows us to put our own architecture around it.

They developed an MVP from scratch. The product was simple in delivery and function but provided a solution. It was more scalable than we'd envisioned it being, which allowed us to get clients. We were also able to sell it, which was the important thing. The product was meant to be a proof of concept for one customer, who ultimately didn’t work out, but we ended up selling it to nine other companies in three different industries.

We’ve now engaged Netguru to build a second version. It will have enhancements that will allow us to scale with our existing customers and capture new ones. The product is still budget sensitive, but I've given them the go-ahead to build.

What is the team dynamic?

On the 1st version, there were two developers and a project manager. When I met to do the project planning, there were three developers and a project designer. The next version will have three developers working on it.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We tendered around four companies. For the first iteration, Netguru was the most competitive in price and delivery and came highly recommended.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2017, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback has been good. Netguru is the first company we’ve outsourced to.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

I manage the project through their own project manager. We've done weekly sprints and used online communication tools to talk to developers if there's a specific question that needs to be resolved. They've been on time and within budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They've delivered when asked. They’re competitive on price, even giving me an initial build price, so I know my money is going toward building the product and not on soft issues like discovery.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would've liked the period of the turnaround for version two to have been quicker, but I knew they were busy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They're very good for people who are less experienced. They have all the software development skills in-house, and they don’t just build the software for you, they also help you understand that there are things in the industry you need to know.

""I can’t imagine wanting to go back to using in-house solutions.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We operate networking dinners for the technology community and people in business so that they can expand their networks.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

I was looking for a Ruby developer. Our team operated remotely, so I was quite interested in a remote solution because it would fit in with how we were already working.

We hadn’t done any development for a year or so. I’d always had a developer in-house, and now we had that gap. I had someone who could accomplish things here and there, but we didn’t have someone working on the technology full-time.

Our company’s team is small, and they don’t all work from the same place. It made sense for us to find a remote solution that could scale up and down as needed. We could do that with Netguru.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They took over the management of the site. We hadn’t done any development work for about a year, so they gave a lot of advice about things we should be updating, like new versions of Ruby. They did that initial review to pinpoint main concerns. At the same time, they allowed me to make comments and request some of the things I was more interested in, like the features and everything we ultimately wanted. It was a balance between the two processes. They took on everything and we started from the beginning in terms of objectives.

We totally changed the flow of our signup process, including all the data fields that we collected and had structured into profiles. We did lots of work on reporting so that I could actually extract the information I needed in order to run the business well. It was a whole different way of looking at the data.

We also added various payment methods. We added description options, bundles, and did an overhaul of some of our regular scheduled emails, optimizing and speeding them up. Netguru did lots of refactoring.

There was tons of old code that they audited, picking and choosing what was worth keeping. They made the software a lot simpler. Prior to working with Netguru, we didn’t have automatic tests or scripts. So after each feature, they put in place automatic testing. Now, instead of us having to manually test, those key features are automatically tested to see if anything is broken. They focused on the user, especially making sure nothing broke during the payment process. We are now having a bit of a break from development and they are helping with maintenance.

What is the team dynamic?

We had two senior developers, one junior developer, a designer, a project manager, and a tester. That was the maximum that we had at any given time.

They have a rotation policy at Netguru. After a certain period of time, the lead developer will be changed so that everything is seen by more than one developer. This method ensures there’s more than one person working on the code, giving a different perspective. We had a project manager that I couldn’t stand, but she left the company, so we ended up with a new one. There was also always a backup project manager that knew the project to a certain level, which was useful. If someone was on a day’s leave, the backup person would always be available.

If we wanted to add or remove anyone on the team on short notice, that was always very easy for Netguru. An in-house team would’ve been a different commitment. I like the flexibility, the availability, and the cost savings of office space.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I spoke to various freelance developers and contractors; I was looking at all the options. There was one other remote company I was considering, but they didn’t compare when I spoke to them about how they operated. Wiktor [Schmidt, Co-Founder & CEO, Netguru] reached out to me via email just in time, told me a bit about what they do, and we began the engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2016 and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We introduced the new payment options in January, and our revenues doubled overnight. That was the most significant thing that we did. The other thing that was really useful was getting the deeper insights into data, how people are using the site, and the customer behavior. It allows us to adapt our marketing and our commercial strategy.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru is extremely thorough and quite strict. Strict is good, though, because all I want to do is work on the stuff that I can see—I don’t care about the tests running in the background. I know they’re important, but I want to move onto the next thing. They tell me the things that we need to do and they make me stick to it. They got me to be much more structured in running this technology project. It was strict in a good way.

They make me stick to the rules and processes that they’ve developed over time, with a lot of projects and a robust development team. We use JIRA or Atlassian as a project management tool, and Slack to keep track of things. We talk on Google Hangouts every week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re based in Poland and I’m in London, but it doesn’t feel that way—they’re always present. Almost every week, I’ll get an email from someone saying, “Do you want to grab coffee? I’m in London.” That's not what you expect from a remote firm. They’re very hot on customer care.

There’s always someone available to talk to me, or someone checking in. That was way above what I was expecting. They’ve done a really good job with communication. Having a QA tester was also amazing. When features were shown to me, they had been tested thoroughly, and truly worked. My experience in the past was getting a feature that was 97% there. With Netguru, when we did find a bug or a problem, they would get right on it, which I know is very time-consuming.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing that comes to mind; their development was good and I loved how the team was put together. I liked their availability and their customer care as well. I can’t imagine wanting to go back to using in-house solutions. I’ll be comfortable using Netguru for future projects. I would use them without hesitation.

What tips would you share with less experienced buyers that come to Clutch and hope to use our platform to find a vendor?

The thing I didn’t know a long time ago was the difference between programming languages and the availability of developers. There are certain programming languages that have a lot of developers available, and you’d have more of a choice in the market.

Some programming languages, though, don’t have as many developers. Supply and demand dictate the price and availability. I’d get a handle on the actual options and what that means for your project, especially if it’s ongoing.

**The Review** — Sep 19, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: The apps are intuitive, with the users already onboard finding the system impressive. Netguru’s team were responsive to all requests and easily available for communication, including in-person. Their transparent project management using Envision and Jira ensured all issues were handled swiftly.
"“They are head and shoulders above other companies we’ve used.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Helpr Technologies builds platforms for the gig economy, while Helpr is the company that we use to implement the platforms and provide the services. The first platform we built was for domiciliary care in the UK, which is where people can be cared for in their own homes. I’m the founder and director of both companies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We needed an Android and iOS app that integrates with our platform. I had sketched some things out as to how I thought it would look in terms of user experience and design.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The MVP took six months. Netguru built an Android and iOS version of the app. It’s reasonably complicated in that we have a web app for our clients to use. Some of our clients are big local authorities so they won’t sit behind PCs and laptops to do their work.

Netguru used wireframes and went to work. Within three weeks, we started to see their early screen designs. The user can input details of someone needing care and set up visits they want for the person. We also introduced GPS tracking so that we know when a carer uses the app how close they are to where they say they are. That helped us streamline our billing system as we knew what services had been delivered.

What is the team dynamic?

It was a small team that was pretty stable throughout the whole project. There were a couple of designers, a project manager, four developers, and a QA tester. I was really impressed with all the people they’ve brought on board.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

We searched online and talked to our contacts. We pulled together a list of 20 companies then did a bit more research into each of them. We got some references and whittled the list down to four companies.

I gave each company a weeks’ worth of work to see how they performed based on the quality they produced and how easily it was to communicate with them. We ended up with Netguru because another company we considered seemed to work great in London, but were not very keen for us to go visit them in Romania, which made me wonder if I was just seeing their sales frontend.

Netguru was completely open and transparent. We went to their place in Poznan and met everybody. Everyone was really friendly. They called in people who had knowledge in places where people in the workshop didn’t. We had a very good feeling about them. They have a nice culture and are great people to do business with. The hiring process took us four weeks.

What is the status of this engagement?

The relationship is ongoing. Our clients have changed somewhat due to monetary cutbacks. The way we thought it would work has changed slightly. For that reason, we’ve spent more time to take those changes on board and change the workflow slightly. We’ll be ready with those changes in a couple of weeks. We’ve also been waiting on getting clearance from the QA agency serving the UK health service. It takes three months to get that feedback.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve got 30–40 carers that I’ve been training in the Android and iOS apps. People are really impressed by the system. I was thinking about developing how-to videos, but the carers have picked up the system very well. In terms of ease of use, it’s a dream.

In the early days, we agreed that we would probably develop the Android app and then do the iOS version. We’ve not had any problems with the iOS version and if I had to choose, I would say the iOS version is better than the Android version. Both are very good, but iOS has the edge over Android.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

They are head and shoulders above other companies we’ve used. My wife is in project management, and she’s been really impressed by Netguru’s culture and responsiveness. I rate them very highly.

They gave us access to their whole toolset so I can look at the design through Envision. That also includes free access to Jira so I can see everything that’s happening in the scrum. I can see all the backlogs and issues and can load my own tickets in Jira. They’re completely transparent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We get to meet with them every couple of months and have coffee with their CEO, Wiktor Schmidt. That’s really nice. I know they have a large customer base, but he still seeks us out when he's in London. We know the door is always open and that if we’re not happy, Wiktor will step in. I’ve never needed that, though.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There must be because nobody’s perfect, but I can’t think of anything.

**The Review** — Sep 5, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: While the iOS version remains unfinished; it's Android counterpart has been very well received. Netguru excels at creative problem-solving, especially with end users in mind. The team was reliable, proactive, and quick retroactive bug fixes.
""They showed us what the problems were, how to fix them, and they did it all the proper way.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company is on its way to being the first fair and transparent payday loan provider in Germany. These are small, short-term loans to help people with unexpected expenses (to hold them over until payday).

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

We wanted to create a new system to manage payday loans that doesn’t involve traditional credit scoring. However, there are some restrictions to the app we were trying to build.

Our previous agency did not deliver a solution, so we stopped the project. We decided to start over and only use the design they had created. Our approach is fully mobile and fully app-based, so we wanted a partner that had experience in developing good, efficient apps.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The specifications already existed, and most of our goals were already outlined, but they helped improve some things. Regarding security, they helped us a lot. The previous system could easily be hijacked by a third party, so Netguru had to improve the entire thing. They even found some security issues we hadn’t seen and didn’t understand. They showed us what the problems were, how to fix them, and they did it all the proper way.

Netguru first developed the Android version of the app, and it’s been on the Google Play store for about two weeks. We’re still adding some features, and we have plans to make an iOS version.

For the next financial round, we don’t plan on hiring our own developers. We’re going to use Netguru for that phase.

What is the team dynamic?

There are four developers, one project manager, and one QA. Our CTO talks with them every day.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

Our previous partner wasn’t working out well. The programmers were located in Peru, and we needed something closer to improve communication. Some of the code was even written in Spanish, which none of our team or clients spoke.

We wanted to get to know the developers and meet with them from time to time. We requested proposals and interviewed four different coding agencies. We’d had a past project with Netguru, and I knew they were good, so we decided to hire them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2017, and the work is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Right now, only family and friends are reviewing the app, but the feedback from investors and stakeholders is very positive. We have some bugs we need to resolve, but most of the time it’s not related to what Netguru did.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Our CTO communicates daily with them through Slack for all of the IT and ticketing. For user stories, we use JIRA. The communication is 90% via Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have really smart people, and they think of solutions both from a developer’s point of view as well as the user’s.

They’re also fast. We’ll ask them to change something, and they’ll change it on the fly. We had the second version in the Android store soon after the first launch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I could have cheaper, but that would be unfair. They are far cheaper than any German company. To be honest, we’re really satisfied with them. It’s great working with them.

**The Reviewer**
Founder, Mumslink
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Jul 12, 2016

**Feedback Summary**: The site has received very good UX feedback, and has attracted partnerships with various businesses and organizations. Netguru conducted thorough testing and implemented the most up-to-date technology and coding.
""My project manager was absolutely fantastic from day one."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

My organization is a professional and social networking platform called Mumslink.com. We connect women with each other from all types of businesses, organizations, and charities who want to reach out with ideas and opportunities for professional careers.

What is your position?

I am the founder.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with netguru?

I was introduced to netguru through a parent at the school. They filled a gap for me because I am not a programmer. They brought in their technical expertise and handled everything from UI/UX [user interface/user experience] to building the platform.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

From the outset, I went to them with my whole business plan. I had done my own framework for the site, regarding how I wanted it to work and how I wanted it to operate. I was a basic startup with an idea on paper. We built wireframes from that and discussed the site mechanism.

We started focusing on the main features that they felt would work well and would be achievable in our timeframe, and they built the site on Ruby on Rails. I was very involved, but they have an awful lot of expertise and guidance, and they know their stuff. It was a great process.

How did you come to work with netguru?

I was introduced to netguru through a parent at the school, who is very techie and very well known in Poland. He recommended netguru to me.

What is the timeline of this engagement?

We began working at the end of March 2015 and soft-launched the site in October [2015]. They still do maintenance for me. It took from March to October to get a site from being on paper to up and running.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Obviously, they built the site, and they're responsible for the fact that it's up and running and working well. netguru just sits quietly there in the background, making sure everything works well. We get very good UX feedback from our users. We're still working with our earlier adopters and site testing and so forth. We've got some great businesses and organizations working through our site, like the U.K. Department for Education and various returner's programs, aimed at female lawyers who took a break and now want to get back to work.

How did netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

As a client, you are appointed a project manager, and my project manager was absolutely fantastic from day one. You also get a quality assurance manager and in my case, she puts the site through its paces during every iteration. She tested the site to death and looked for all the bugs, glitches, and things that could be improved. I can't fault them as an organization. They've been brilliant to work with.

What distinguishes netguru from other providers?

netguru's work ethic and professionalism are the key points. Everything is built in iterations and the process is all about feedback and collaboration. For me, as a nontechnical founder of a startup, they have been a fantastic source of support and information. I feel like they have built the site with the best technology out there, using the best code.

They couldn't have done more than they have already done. The project manager is integral to that. You feel like you're supported throughout the process and that you are part of the team. You're in constant communication with your team. For somebody who came from a legal background, it's been quite an enlightening process.

Is there anything netguru could have improved or done differently?

Any mistakes that were made in the early days really were attributable in part to my naivete. Really, I should have had a UX designer sort out wireframes in addition to the work that I'd done myself. That caused a couple of delays, but I wouldn't attribute that to them.

#### Rails-Developed Platform for Financial Services Startup
**The Project**
- Services: Custom Software Development
- Project size: Confidential

**Project Summary**: Netguru assisted a financial advising firm with Ruby on Rails development for a variety of projects, involving SMS and MMS solutions.

**Review Rating**: 4.5
- Quality: 4.5
- Schedule: 4.5
- Cost: 4.5
- Willing to Refer: 5.0

**The Reviewer**
Sr. Vice President of Technology, Financial Advising Firm
- Industry: Financial services

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview
- Verified

**The Review** — Jun 23, 2016

**Feedback Summary**: The firm described the team from Netguru as one of the best development resources they have ever worked with. While no metrics on solutions were yet available, the agency's meticulous, talented developers consistently deliver ahead of estimates. Their testing services were also top-notch.
""We've really enjoyed being able to take advantage of their different skill sets.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please introduce your business and what you do there.

Our company is trying to make financial advising easier for the masses. We are developing an application that makes the process easy for anyone, helping him or her save money and invest it. The goal is to help people at every financial step of their lives. Today, good, solid financial consultation is in the domain of a more privileged class, which is already doing well financially. Our hope is to spread that out. Our company was founded in 2015. I'm the senior vice president of technology in the company. I manage our database and all day-to-day technology use.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with Netguru?

I needed expertise in Ruby on Rails development. I have been a career Java developer myself but, when I came to my current company, I found that the things that we wanted to build could best be done in Rails. I put the stakes in the ground for this technology, so I started looking for an outsourced developer.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement.

Netguru's expertise and development resources have been key in building a number of SMS [short message service] and MMS [multimedia messaging service] solutions for us as well as seriously fleshing out the infrastructure of the systems we're building right now. Essentially, Netguru is involved in every aspect of our development.

Our solutions are data-intensive applications. Right now, we're within the proof-of-concept phase, developing our prototype and testing it through beta users. We plan to do a lot of work on scaling the application and better handling potential load increases.

Right now, we have a team of three people from Netguru, including one developer, one quality assurance resource, and one project manager. Netguru has an interesting approach, allowing the client to work with them in any way they like. Netguru would have preferred to have a small team with a project manager, allowing me to interface with that manager. I know that this approach has been successful, but I wanted our development resources to report directly to me, skipping the project manager. I wasn't terribly interested in allowing the quality assurance tester into the codebase, given that we're developing a financial application. Netguru was perfectly happy to accommodate this.

How did you come to work with Netguru?

I had been the vice president of technology at another startup. My predecessor there was a Polish person who ran a small team. I had the task of evaluating everyone in it in order to see how we could work together. I came to find that our Polish team was made up of solid developers who were doing good work, so I increased the size of their involvement. When I moved to my current company, I needed a back-end team, and started looking for another Polish company. I took into consideration both cost mitigation and the overall superior skills of Polish developers, compared to Indian or Chinese ones. I also found it significantly easier to work with Polish developers in terms of accent, which makes a large difference when doing remote work, relying almost exclusively on voice communication.

I found Netguru out of my search. I looked at seven or eight companies in total, which were offering Ruby on Rails consultation work remotely. I interviewed them, spoke with their developers and eventually settled on Netguru.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Netguru in March 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Any software development work will be subjective, based on the client's opinion. We are working with front-end and mobile developers, but my resource from Netguru is one of the best developers I've ever worked with. I have been a development manager since the early 2000s as well as having been a developer since the 1990s, but Netguru's developer has stood out as exceptional. Netguru has a large group of senior developers to which he can go and consult whenever he runs into a problem. We've enjoyed the benefit of this as well.

How did Netguru perform from a project management standpoint?

Netguru generally delivers work ahead of my estimates. We use Pivotal Tracker, Slack, and GitHub for project tracking.

What distinguishes Netguru from other providers?

Netguru is a full-service shop, delivering a test group for the work as part of the package. We've really enjoyed being able to take advantage of their different skill sets. This is an advantage for any group trying to cut costs, like small startups. Having a test user and project manager has been a nice feature for us.

Is there anything Netguru could have improved or done differently?

I've been thrilled with our developer from Netguru. If I had been working with a larger group, I could perhaps better speak about any improvements.

When I came into the engagement with Netguru, I didn't have my head completely wrapped around how Netguru likes to work with people. They offer a tester and a project manager whose activity is tied with the developer's. If I had better understood this, it would have made things less bumpy in the beginning. After the first week, I came to be completely thrilled with Netguru. My lack of research on this part was to blame.

### Shepper
Shepper is a tool for monitoring revenue-generating assets. It sends people ("Shepherds") to locations to check on the state of a property, car, or insurance claims.
