I’m a co-founder of Dog Heroes, a dog food subscription service that delivers healthy recipes and perfectly portioned meals.

What challenge were you trying to address with Moze?

We were looking for a partner to develop our technical website since we didn’t have any IT personnel in the team.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Moze provides us with web design and development focusing on UI/UX. They build customized platforms using WooCommerce and WordPress and integrate a CRM called Intercom. Other than that, they also incorporate Stripe as our payment method of choice.

We start each project with a discussion on our requirements and the finalization of a roadmap and workflow. They do the project in sprints and use a story mapping technique as an agile tool to define functionalities from a user perspective.

From there we start to apply old processes in terms of engaging people, such as a lead acquisition funnel that asks customers several questions to get information.

Finally, they proposed the use of React technology to make the development more versatile.

We mainly work with the founder, a backend developer, a frontend developer, and a React developer.

How did you come to work with Moze?

We reached out to several other agencies through recommendations from mutual contacts before deciding to go with Moze, because we liked how their mindset and proposition aligned with us.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $50,000 on the development and the website, and we’re paying them around $500 for continuous maintenance and support.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in June 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Feedback from external stakeholders has been overwhelmingly positive and in terms of design, we’re quite satisfied. We’re also getting a lot of great reviews regarding the usability and smoothness of the website, and we’re maintaining a great ranking in search engines.

How did Moze perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a professional approach to project management and they’re quite organized when it comes to resolving issues and requests.

Furthermore, they’re very precise with their adherence to timelines, communication, and presenting information. We typically interact through email and Google Sheets and manage the project using Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with their design prowess.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be better if the priority for the development would focus on growth, so they could improve on being more precise from a business perspective.

I would say be prepared as possible in terms of the needs and priorities of the platform.

I am the Chief Digital Officer of Talent Garden, a European company that provides spaces, education and customised corporate innovation programs aiming to connect the digital and tech community.

For what projects/services did your company hire Moze, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a Mobile APP to support our customers in getting the most out of their experience with Talent Garden. The APP purpose was to provide users with functional features like space booking or door opening adding a layer of community and interaction among different members.

How did you select Moze and what were the deciding factors?

Moze has been a long time member of our community. Well known for their design capacity alongside with the development skill, Moze embodied most of the capabilities we need to deliver and high quality product for our members.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We worked in sprints starting from the design & discovery phase. Once we got the design we started the development phase using prioritisation techniques in order to understand which feature would have had the highest impact on customers. Once released the basic features we started iterating on those in order to improve the overall product quality.

How many resources from the Moze team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with a design lead, a technical architect and 3 developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within 3 months the APP was downloaded and used by 75% of our customers with very high feedbacks on the APP Store.

We managed the entire project having Moze as our "extended team" during the sprints. They basically worked as Talent Garden teammates which was facilitated by the fact that they were part of our community. We used daily standup and weekly retrospectives.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Moze had the capacity to blend design and development skills to ship beautiful and functional products.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think we launched the APP without having the full usage context of our members. Probably having challenged more the need of an APP with other potential solutions (i.w. chatbots) could have given the project a different result.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chairman at Serioplast, a manufacturing company. We produce plastic packaging — mainly bottles — for the fast-moving consumer goods market. At the time of this project with Moze, I was the information systems director.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Moze?

Our objective was to develop an enterprise management system for the company. The aim was to develop a series of internal applications that our employees could use to keep track of accounting, sales, procurement, and the current operations of the manufacturing process of the company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Moze managed the initial development of our enterprise resource planning system software. They assisted our internal development team by training them in agile methods, teach us Scrum, and provide assistance with frontend development and UX design for the first six months of the project. Our internal development team handled the backend development. After that six-month mentorship period, we hired in-house frontend developers and brought development fully in-house.

What is the team composition?

We had two main contacts with Moze. One was the UX head and Scrum master, and the other was the frontend developer.

How did you come to work with Moze?

We decided to work with Moze because they seemed like a small but very competent, well-organized, and extremely responsive team. They were quick and flexible in adapting to our requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested €85,000 (approximately $96,000 USD) with Moze.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Moze from June 2018–February 2019, when we brought development in-house.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We were able to go live with the first functionalities of the software within four months. Software development was not our core business, and it was quite new to us. Given the complexity of the software, we measured success by how many features we were able to put into production.

How did Moze perform from a project management standpoint?

Moze’s project management was the best aspect of the collaboration. Moze was very proactive about managing all aspects of the project, taking full responsibility for the deliverables. They didn’t just do what they were assigned — they took care of all aspects and advised us on every decision about the project. At Moze’s recommendation, we used Trello and Atlassian Jira to manage the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed by their ability to teach us agile methods and to holistically manage the project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

All of Moze’s work was satisfactory, but Moze could’ve been more cost-effective.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Embrace Moze’s recommended methodologies and listen to the advice that they give you — especially if your core business is outside of the IT sector and even if the methods seem very different from your usual internal processes.

For what projects/services did your company hire Moze?

We needed a partner that was able to help us to design from scratch the UX and UI of our web application.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We got in contact with MOZE during an event.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We started from the creation of the health surveillance application’s name: Medwork. Then we created the name of the other two applications, part of the same suite:

• Safework – a digital platform for managing workplace safety 
• Trainwork – a solution dedicated to business training.

We called Forwork Suite the suite that includes Medwork, Safework and Trainwork. We designed the logos of the four new brands. We carried out User Experience and User Interface design activities through an Agile process, in order to guarantee our client maximum operating flexibility.

We started collecting materials, specifications and requirements useful to define the high-level functioning of the software. We studied the market and some similar solutions.

Together with the NSI team, we defined Medwork’s User Personas – a tool useful to always focus on the user during the various design and development stages of the web application. We used the User Story Mapping technique to map the new application’s features from the user’s point of view. We defined a joint operational roadmap with the NSI team. This way, our design releases were continuously followed by front-end implementation, managed by their in-house team.

We created the Medwork UI Kit, a collection of User Interface elements useful to build the various pages of the web application in a consistent way. We designed the User Interface of all the pages of Medwork. For some complex parts of the software we developed several UI options, choosing the best one after live testing sessions carried out with potential users (occupational doctors).

They have provided developers with the complete UI layouts of the new web application. We also shared with them all the documentation useful to correctly implement the interaction logics of each component. During the front-end development process we carried out supervisory activities, to ensure highly consistency with the original design project.

Springa is a Milan-based startup. Our core product is Goliath CNC, a robotic milling machine. I’m a co-founder and the Chief Design Officer of Springa.

We asked Moze to design the new version of Slingshot – the CAM software that allows our users to prepare a design, define the cutting mode, connect to the robot and manage it in real time.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

A few years ago, Moze had helped us design and develop our first website. We had been very satisfied with the quality of their work; that is why we again involved their team for this decisive project.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

In the first phase of the project, Moze facilitated several comprehension sessions during which they gathered key information from our team about the product and how it works. The second step was the User Research activity: Moze surveyed a sample of European and American users of Goliath CNC to investigate their experience with the product and gather insights useful in improving its control software.

Finally, Moze defined the new UX of Slingshot and designed a simpler and more functional User Interface.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with Matteo, the Design Director of Moze, and another designer from their team who is very experienced in User Research.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Software is still under development we will release it around June 2023. After that date pictures/videos of the software will be visible on our website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was really good. Depending on the different phases of the project, our team and theirs would meet live or via the web to share progress. Frequent updates also came via e-mail and other collaboration tools. Our feeling was that we were really participating in the design project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The high quality of their work both at the User Research stage and in producing graphic layouts. In addition, their team also has very advanced technological skills; therefore, they were able to understand the software they were working on.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything went very well. I don't remember anything we complained about during the course of the project.

We have worked with Moze for seven years on various types of projects: brand identity design, UX & UI Design of web and mobile / B2C and B2B products, front-end web development, and mobile development.

My co-founders and I met Moze at some startup events.

As a collaboration spanning many years, it is difficult to describe the various phases of the many projects we have worked on together with Moze. Generally speaking, the work was usually managed with an Agile approach. The design and development activities were organized in sprints lasting two or four weeks each.

Moze's Design Director and Technical Director were always involved in the activities. We have also worked with several designers and developers from their team, selected from time to time based on the skills required by each project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Wanderio has shut down, so the website and mobile apps are no longer visible. However, on Moze's website you can find a rather in-depth case history, which describes the main projects we have carried out with them. There are also several screenshots of the interfaces designed by Moze for our web and mobile touchpoints

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between the Wanderio team and Moze's team has always been excellent. Both companies had chosen with conviction to embrace the principles of Agile development; this helped us to collaborate starting from a shared mindset.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to combine excellent design quality with highly advanced technological skills was top-notch!

The seven-year duration of our collaboration proves that our satisfaction in working with Moze was total.
