Modern Day Strategy helped us automate a number of really complicated workflows across our business. We had different types of payments (EFTs, card payments, manual payments, and even crypto payments) coming through our sites, and they managed to link everything together using our website forms, Zapier, Stripe, and Salesforce. They also set up automated customer journeys, receipts, and data updates in Salesforce based on each unique flow. It’s made a massive difference to our operations, and we’re very happy with their work.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw an immediate improvement in our operations after the automation work. Manual admin dropped by roughly 80–90% because the payment flows that previously required staff involvement now run entirely on their own. Processing times also improved dramatically, with payment confirmations and Salesforce updates happening instantly instead of hours or days later. Data accuracy increased as well, since all information now moves directly from our website forms through Zapier into Salesforce without any manual capture. Our customers receive automated receipts and notifications right away, which has noticeably improved their experience. On top of that, our reporting has become far more reliable because all payment types—EFT, card, manual, and crypto—now feed into Salesforce in a consistent, structured way.

Their project management was very solid and easy to work with. They set out a clear plan upfront, kept us updated on progress, and delivered the key milestones on time. When our needs evolved and we added or adjusted requirements along the way, they were flexible and quick to adapt without losing momentum. Communication was straightforward and responsive – whenever we had a question or needed something changed, they came back to us quickly with solutions rather than problems. Overall, we always felt that they understood what we needed and were on top of the details.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was the combination of their technical depth and willingness to really understand our business before building anything. They didn’t just automate a few steps, they took the time to map out our entire process, identify gaps we didn’t even realise were there, and then built a system that fit our workflow perfectly. Their ability to work across different tools (our website, Zapier, Stripe, Salesforce, crypto gateways, etc.) and make everything feel seamless was genuinely impressive. On top of that, they were incredibly approachable, easy to work with, and proactive in finding solutions instead of just ticking boxes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Modern Day Strategy could have done differently?

Overall we were very happy with the work, but if there’s one area for improvement, it would simply be even more documentation as the project progressed. The system they built is quite complex, and having a bit more written detail on each flow and how everything connects would make future updates even easier on our side. Other than that, the experience was very positive and the delivery quality was excellent.

What impressed us most about Modern Day Strategy was the depth of knowledge their development team brought to the project. They were highly capable and efficient in handling every aspect of the technical work. Especially being able to work with PHP code and being willing to create custom solutions to match our needs, and not unnecessarily overcomplicate the project. Additionally, their in-house designer was a great asset—always available, quick to assist, and consistently delivering high-quality design work that perfectly complemented the development process. It made for a smooth and well-rounded collaboration

The only hurdle on the project are the app stores really. It takes time to go through all the approvals in order to get our app published on the stores. The Modern Day Strategy team has been helping us here to the best of their ability.

Using Leadbase, you can capture incoming leads, apply a screening/KYC process, and integrate the resulting data into your back office CRM automatically. I am the Director at Amberstone Digital, the company producing this platform.

We initially got in contact with Modern Day Strategy via a local Slack community for technology vendors and companies in South Africa. I was impressed by their overall experience and professionalism during the initial engagement, and decided to hire on the basis of their portfolio.

The project was pretty straightforward. I provided the team with the copy for the website and they took it from there. In addition, there were some designs required for infographics that we worked on before adding these to the website.

Communication was really effective over email, and we only needed one in-person (virtual) meeting otherwise.

I was really impressed with the clear communication, rapid turnaround times, and their willingness to go the extra mile on the sets of revisions I sent over. Modern Day Strategy made it clear that they were willing to help with all aspects of this build, and they produced great output on both the Webflow and the graphic design side.

This was a straightforward project, and I was very happy with the results. Nothing comes to mind.

After launching our website our online classes grew significantly and these now remain a good part of our business.

We were very happy with their patience. We must have changed the design of the website at least 5 times to get it perfect. The team was always accommodating in this regard and most importantly, we got the perfect design that we were looking for.

The website could have been finished quicker if they had used Wordpress instead of custom building.
