How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Initial presentation meeting with the Business Owner made us believe that this company is professional and knowledgeable, they demonstrated works done and their price was cheaper compared with others

As an ICT and ELV graduate and 20 years of experience in the field including several state-level key projects. I have worked with many technology companies and especially in App Development. However, project management, professionalism, integrity, honesty, and productivity is a key part of any business and it is the minimum expectation for any client when dealing with the service provider.

Mobulous has failed on all levels whether from the scope of work understanding, client expectation management, team allocation, understanding the work, delivering a quality product, and respecting the approved timeline. Our project started with them in January 2021, and they kept on dragging us till Mid 2022 with unfinished work, unfriendly interfaces, bad coding conduct, and buggy application. It is a trap “you have been warned”.

They give you a small hourly rate so that they can take your project and as much as you expected they will deliver a quality product. You will end up wasting money on this company. They will deliver the minimum and just pretend that they completed the work and you will start chasing them to fix things. This is where they will keep asking for more and more money. There is the only way to do business with this company is “Don’t” as simple as that.

Their CEO/Founder/Owner whatever you want to call. Gives you the impression at the first meeting that he is well experienced and knowledgeable and that he has a big team to fulfill your work. But painfully we found out that he was just a business broker like many out there, he meets you for the first time and then push you over to a group of developers and project manager who have a minimum understanding of the requirements and they start coding your project with weak skills.

You will only know this the hard way later as they will put you in a tunnel with no light at the end. We end up reaching a level of frustration that prompted us to just limit the damages after we have paid nearly 85% of the contract for a buggy unfinished work and stop it there. Even when that decision has been made, they don’t provide any standard documentation for your work which any junior development company as per industry standards is supposed to provide.

I believe they fish for those clients who have money and looking to build apps but are startups and not really understanding the technologies so they can end up stealing your money or simply deliver something far from what you have expected. Once again, their CEO is arrogant, unprofessional, and uncooperative like the rest of his team as he cascades his abusive leadership to his team. If you appreciate your money and your time, stay away from this company. Otherwise, you will suffer heavily and make you lose hope in your app.

Our work included iOS, Android, Static website, Backend, and Admin Panel - iOS and Android were never the same code, some things on one app are not the same on the other as there is no internal coordination between the teams, and overall the only thing that works in the app is the login and a couple of basic features. However, all complex coding is just copying and pasting of others from public reports and an attempt to make it work which doesn’t - Static website – I would have made it myself with my limited knowledge better and faster than this company.

The website is cheap and simple with some downloaded graphics and templates. - API and Admin Panel – not mobile friendly, filters don’t make sense and work in the wrong way. Half of the scope of work is lost along the frustration as they keep making problems for you that you forget your original written scope of work in an attempt to fix the crap of a code and interface they have done.

In summary, this is a company that has no common sense, no ethical business conduct, they respond only to money withholding, CEO is uncooperative, the delivery manager is disconnected from reality, their team is unprofessional, and no minimum knowledge about such work and have no clue how to fulfill client agreed requirements. 

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We are not sure about the total number of people as they are very shady in that part. We all know some names from the communications through email and I can say somewhere around 4-5 people including businewss owner.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project got stalled and they kept on dragging us for more than one year and a half while the original plan was to complete the project in 4 months. Their business owner disappeared and never responded to our continuous messages to allocate professional resources to finish the job as per the agreed scope of work. Eventually, we decided to stop the work and get whatever they have coded for us which ended up being a buggy code with no more than 40% functionality.

Very bad communication, management do not respond promptly, we send detailed emails and communication via multiple methods and they stall, ignore and disappear.

Nothing at all. They do not deserve even a small website work which they even failed to do for us.

Close the company or change the whole management and their team.

1. We accepted a small project with this client on a fixed-cost model. 
2. The client conveyed that he does not have fat budget.
3. 16,500 USD to be Exact. It was divided into 6 payments as per the terms. 
4. We proposed a very realistic budget with a fixed scope of work mutually agreed and we started on the job.
5. The job got completed as per the agreed scope of work and we delivered the source code as well even before the client made the final payment. i.e only 80% of the payment made.
6. The Client wanted additional scope to be done within the same cost which Mobulous denied as the new changes had good amount of the efforts.
7. We tried to make him understand the additional efforts but he was adamant for any additional cost and said such features are obvious with the agreed scope of work and if we do not do, he will post bad reviews.
8. As we declined working on additional features without and change request, he turned hostile and posted negative reviews. 
9. Proper Code documentation and FREE KT for 3 months were given to his new development team after which he posted this review.

Clients needs to understand the different between Agreed Scope and Additonal scope being asked in the middlle or end of the project.
Development is not Drag and Drop like design to add additional modules without development efforts being considered.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We want to redesign our whole user interface, as one of the biggest pieces of feedback from our clients was that our UI wasn’t easy to use. We went about selecting the initial screens and then reached out to Momentum to help us create wireframes.

They went on to help us think about the full user workflow to ensure that the UI was as user-friendly as possible. While they built the design using Figma The other part of the project is the construction of a component library of designs for us, which includes a large amount of documentation.

It categorizes every different type of component that we use. This will allow us to use what they designed to create other screens as its a web platform with 2 different screens. A Dashboard and Analytics screen.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We mainly worked with - Ashit(senior product designer, while also Sunanda is also point of our contact.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They did produce wireframes for all the screens and built a documentation library containing all our components. Our internal developers are pleased with the amount of details in the wireframe. Regarding the UI/UX we have had a lot of positive feedback on it in terms of the layout from our users.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are very easy to communicate with and they understand what we really want. They meet up the timelines as they would put more resources on the work towards the end of the timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to understand our product and what we do in short time really amazes me. Their team's knowledge was highly impressive.
