We searched online for the best UI/UX design on Google, and their listing came up as No.1 on map, we had to choose them.

We want to redesign our whole user interface, as one of the biggest pieces of feedback from our clients was that our UI wasn’t easy to use. We went about selecting the initial screens and then reached out to Momentum to help us create wireframes.

They went on to help us think about the full user workflow to ensure that the UI was as user-friendly as possible. While they built the design using Figma The other part of the project is the construction of a component library of designs for us, which includes a large amount of documentation.

It categorizes every different type of component that we use. This will allow us to use what they designed to create other screens as its a web platform with 2 different screens. A Dashboard and Analytics screen.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We mainly worked with - Ashit(senior product designer, while also Sunanda is also point of our contact.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They did produce wireframes for all the screens and built a documentation library containing all our components. Our internal developers are pleased with the amount of details in the wireframe. Regarding the UI/UX we have had a lot of positive feedback on it in terms of the layout from our users.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are very easy to communicate with and they understand what we really want. They meet up the timelines as they would put more resources on the work towards the end of the timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to understand our product and what we do in short time really amazes me. Their team's knowledge was highly impressive.

No, I have nothing to say.

Very Happy with the overall outcome of the Grocery App Development project. The team was very professional in the Analysis, Design, and Development of my Project. The project Manager was accommodating and always available to give inputs and work demos. Very Satisfied with the Project delivery.

The Project management was handled using Basecamp and Trello Team followed AGILE and Sprint planning to deliver the project

We searched online and connected with Mobulous Team for the Website Development project. They were pretty quick to understand our requirements and proposed a solution for the same.

After initial discussion and kickoff, Mobulous came up with Wireframes for our website and based on our inputs, it was converted into a stunning design. Development was followed and we got weekly updates on the progress. Final version was acceptable and approved by us.

We had a Web Developer , a Backend Developer and QA allocated for the development of the project. Initially was a BA and a Designer. A special project coordinator was allocated who was the main point of contact for us,

When I told them about our project needs, they immediately came up with a slew of great ideas and additional exciting features, which I loved.  I would say all the team members were involved throughout the project. Indeed, each team member was trained and competent, which is how we were able to complete our ideal eCommerce website on time.

I personally appreciate their efforts and enthusiasm.

So far, we have interacted with a couple of people from Mobulous.  The company has a significant number of developers. On the other hand, quality analysts, Testers, and UI/UX designers assisted us throughout the project development.

Well, it was not as easy as it seems now. It was pretty challenging for us to make them understand what we exactly wanted on our website. However, over time, they came to understand our needs and provided the most outstanding service available.

Finally, I'd add that all the members of the team were highly dedicated to their tasks. They even kept us updated on the project's progress regularly. If my team or I didn't grasp something in the project, they always tried their best to explain it clearly and concisely until we did.

From the beginning of the project, the whole team was rapid and responsive. They always solve all our queries with great patience. However, there was a point when things seemed difficult, but with their assistance, everything went quite nicely. 

The most exciting thing about the team is that they constantly update the project progress on time. They were available on all the communication forums, including slack, skype, Google meets, call, e-mail, Jira, etc.   

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The whole team was professional, cheerful, and hard-working. But if I have to choose the most impressive thing about the company, it is their friendly nature. It felt like we had our in-house product development team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No doubt, they are so perfect in their work. However, I want to suggest they must expand their team with the same skills and experienced members.

We shortlisted multiple companies through Clutch. Mobulous was one of them. They quickly grabbed on to our requirements, and we were pretty impressed with their project understanding. The budget was competitive, so we hired them for the project.

Scope of work included building the dashboard for our marketing agents to inputs the marketing efforts, it had multiple hierarchies per our organization. We preferred React Js and Node Js as the Technologies.

I’m the executive director of a consulting firm that actively pursues new projects, such as web or app development projects.

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobulous?

We hired Mobulous to develop a mobile app. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

At the start of the project, we discussed using newer technologies. I was familiar enough with tech stacks to have conversations with Mobulous about them. Given that, I also spoke with their project manager regarding the platforms they’d use, which involved Android and iOS. We went back and forth in those discussions. 

Meanwhile, one of the app’s main features was letting users create profiles and upload recipes to be used by all other users. It was like a social media platform; people were able to like, share, and save recipes on their profiles. Another main feature was allowing users to upload recipes based on their pantry profile. This feature was supposed to help app users figure out recipes they could make based on the available ingredients in their pantries. 

What is the team composition?

I spoke with a project manager in the beginning. However, when the project was about to start, they assigned a new manager to me.

How did you come to work with Mobulous?

Initially, I researched online and read some reviews. I decided to go with Mobulous based on their reviews and pricing, which was good. The first project manager I talked to had a lot of input. In fact, she pitched additional ideas to what I originally wanted. She also seemed to work as a true part of the project instead of simply working on it. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent close to $10,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project lasted from July 2020–February 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Most of the feedback we received was that the app had a great concept, but the design wasn’t intuitive. Users weren't inclined to use the app because it was difficult and time-consuming to interact with it. In any case, the project was completed. 

Moreover, I was a bit disappointed because the app wasn’t highly interactive. Some of the technologies Mobulous used were probably not current, so the app wasn’t as user-friendly as expected. The pantry feature also turned out to be challenging because I incurred unexpected additional costs. Even with that extra expense, the results still didn’t turn out as expected. 

The app went down a few times where it wasn’t usable. Mobulous said that was caused by database connection issues, though it wasn’t 100% clear why that was the case.

How did Mobulous perform from a project management standpoint?

I’d give them a perfect score for project management. They were professionals when it came to interactions and providing updates. For instance, they used Basecamp, a well-known industry tool for project management. I was happy with that. Through Basecamp, we could have conversations, upload documents and images, and track the project. It was also highly useful in tracking timelines. 

However, the first project manager left the company, and that was where some disconnect between Mobulous and me happened. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were outstanding in terms of project approach, interactions, and project management. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The team lacked creativity. When I approached them, I didn’t know much about technology. However, I knew what mobile apps looked like — we all used mobile phones and apps — so I felt they could have provided a better app design and overall output. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d recommend Mobulous, but approach them with caution in terms of creativity. You either have to define 100% of what you’re looking for or find someone with a creative mind to work with them. That way, you can ensure their output is what you expect.

We shortlisted Mobulous from the reviews given by different online Platforms. Our deciding criterion was Quality and Cost Effectiveness.

Software Testing part could be improved upon.

I ran my own company, Just Clubbing Australia. I’m working for another company now.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Mobulous?

I gave them a contract to develop my Android app, iOS app, dashboard, and website. I’d worked with another provider in the very early stages, but that was only at a discussion level.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I was building a marketing application for night clubs and parlors. Mobulous started working on the platform, but they kept telling me about functionalities that weren’t in the scope.

The delivered app was completely nonfunctional. Mobulous told me that my device was the problem, but I encountered the same issues on five phones.

What is the team dynamic?

I had a project coordinator, one frontend and one backend developer, and one designer. All of them were working on other projects as well.

Three of the four members of the team were constantly changing, especially the project coordinator — they changed three times in five months. When a new coordinator came in, they didn’t understand the project, and their director blamed me for not explaining things well. It wasn’t my duty to explain everything from scratch when staff changed.

How did you come to work with Mobulous?

I found them on Google Reviews, Clutch, and other platforms but later realized that they were manufacturing reviews. There were 10 reviews written by their staff.

I talked to a few of their clients and got mixed reviews, but I still chose Mobulous.

How much have you invested with them?

I gave them $12,900 AUD, according to the milestone phase. They immediately changed their attitude after they got the money. When they weren’t able to complete the milestone, I didn’t pay anymore.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in September or October 2019, and the relationship ended in February or March 2021.

The lockdown in March 2020 led to tough times for both me and Mobulous, and I decided to stop developing the app for a while. Our relationship wasn’t bad at the time, and I contacted them lockdown to start again.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

When I came back to them, they just asked for money, because they were going through hard times. Unfortunately, I’d already paid AUD $12,900, and they weren’t able to deliver that milestone.

Anil (Founder & CEO) sent me messages one night that were unethical and unprofessional, after which he blocked me. He unblocked me after I left them a Google review saying that they would deliver what I wanted if I took the review down. Meanwhile, they took down all the files I’d already paid for.

After Anil spoke to me about the Google review, he came back saying that another client had a similar project and that they would be loyal to me. I don’t know what the reality is.

Later on, Mobulous told me that they couldn’t deliver and that the project couldn’t be finished for $20,000 AUD, which was the contract value. I received nothing in the end.

How did Mobulous address the challenges that arose?

I would agree with the coordinator on what Mobulous would provide, but nothing would be complete by the next meeting. When I went to the director, nothing got done. Mobulous’ team couldn’t do simple tasks. I had to have the same conversations and explain the same requests several times.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Mobulous wasn’t able to build the app — nothing they delivered was functional. I hired someone domestic to review their work, and he told me that it wasn’t up to the mark for the price I paid. My sister is an art director in Melbourne, and she reviewed the design and graphics of the app as well.

How was project management handled?

We used Basecamp for milestones and had a WhatsApp group for the team. Their resources shared APK files through one of those tools. Their coordination was only good on paper but not in terms of completion. Additionally, we have a couple of time zones in Australia, and they weren’t able to adapt accordingly, which led to conflicts between us.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

Their communication before they received the money stood out. I had talks with their team, and they explained what they could do if I gave them money.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Mobulous should work on staff retention. Resources left after one month, and I didn’t have time to explain my business model from scratch each time. They had different levels of understanding; some were good, and some were bad.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Talk to the actual people that will be working on your project, rather than the owner. The owner knows how to market Mobulous and what the customer wants, but the project will never be completed if the team isn’t capable.

We disagree with the review.

Mr. Rohan did work with us but it was in 2019-March 2020.

70% of the work was complete but he did not have money to pay for the work as he had lost his job. He came back again in early 2021 as he had got investor interested in the Product which Mobulous build; We asked him to make the outstanding payment which he was not interested in and wanted a free product. On Top, he wanted additional work from the fixed scope to be done but he did not have the money to pay for our services.

Other points :

1. All the source code was already being shared with him on delivery of each work milestone and each payment he made.

2. Since 2019 when we started the project, he was always on|off as he was working and to make the payments as funds were not secured. He used to get the work done and go off the grid for months and one day comes back with more additional requests.

3. Last he went off the grid in 2020 when he was supposed to make the payment, he sent messages like i don't have job, i will come back when i have a job and funds

4. Work Agreement was terminated in 2020

5. He came back in 2021 and demanded his app wherein he did not want to pay for the work completed

We tried to arbitrate but he was not interested
