We hired Mobivery to update our mobile apps (b2b and b2c), which because of Covid where left untouched during several months.

We searched through our network and online for mobile apps development companies, shortlisted a few, and had interviews with them. Mobivery ended up being the one we chose after a couple of reference calls with their former customers.

We had 4 apps to work upon, 2 Android (Kotlin) and 2 iOS (Swift). First of all Mobivery audited the code and came up with a detailed action plan with the steps necessary for the apps to be up to date. After that, we tackled a tough migration on our b2b app from Realm to MongoDB and developed a few new features on all apps.

We had a project manager all the step of the way and mostly one developer assigned to us, although when we needed a push they were able to assign a second one too.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The work realized was outstanding. It was incredibly easy to work with them and the quality of their deliverables was impeccable. All the apps are very stable (98%+ crash-free), the speed of development, the attention to detail, the proactiveness, the communication.. Everything was great.

Their project manager was always very easy to reach and responsive. The developer(s) was also very independent and talkative. Communication was mostly realized over slack, then we used basecamp for some documentation and we had a weekly catch up call of about 20/30 mins, plus any extra calls we might have need to refine features, look into problems, etc..

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It has been the first time I've worked with an external development agency and I've decided to rely on them, long term. I think it says it all.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not in our case.

Mobile is fundamental in the solutions we build and for one of our solutions: Cowin-19, a contact tracing system that has served to control the Covid19 virus to several of our clients, we needed Mobivery to carry out the mobile app for tracking and also for the visual design of the entire solution.

We knew Mobivery thanks to the recommendation of other clients and for the development of this project we needed very expert people in mobile solutions, because what we had to build was not an easy solution. They could also take care of the design part very well, which was very important to us.

The Project consisted on the creation of two apps, one for iOS and one for Android, 100 % native, that would connect via bluetooth with some devices that we had built and that could send the data to a central server. Mobivery was in charge of making the mobile apps and coordinating very well with our internal development team.

A very fast project to execute in an agile way and with results from the first sprint.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The main result of the Project has been that we have been able to help several companies to prevent Covid19 and also to guarantee the return to work in a safer way. We are very proud of the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication with them has been very agile, initial meetings were established to define the deliverables and then continuous communication, especially with the Basecamp tool.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very flexible and effective, from the beginning of the project they perfectly understood the problem and what the solution consisted of. The necessary meetings and questions are well prepared. You can see the quality of their deliverables.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The work that we have done with them is outstanding. If they give the go-ahead to a project they execute it excellently.

I am the Executive Director (CEO) of GESDISER, a company focused, among other things, on supporting companies and tour guides through radio guide teams to accompany and manage tour groups.

For a long time, we had the idea of adapting our service to new technologies, and we created a project to develop a mobile application that would replace physical devices, adapting it to current times. The appearance of Covid reinforced this idea since it allowed the freedom to use their own means to provide the best service to customers and tourists.

The challenge was that the idea was so innovative that it required a proof of concept to demonstrate the technical feasibility of the product, but Mobivery also solved this part prior to the design and development. The investment at the beginning of the project was worth it because it allowed me to better understand the product, to analyze external tools that could support the development and to finally validate that it was possible to carry out the project, investing in a development with a guarantee of success.

On Guide is a mobile application that replaces physical devices to guide tourists on their visits to museums and city walks. This solution allows us to eliminate the dependency on external devices, improving social distance, avoiding contact with other equipment, and enhancing group management with many utilities that have been incorporated into the app which facilitate the work of agencies and tour guides. In addition, it can also be used in other sectors such as events, training, coaching, etc.

We analyzed some companies that could provide us with this service, and we selected Mobivery for its experience in this type of mobile application development, verified results and proposed solutions.

The Project consists of creating two apps, one for iOS and another for Android, 100 % native, in order to reach all types of devices. Likewise, it has two destinations and functionalities, one of them for the issuer (tourist guide, group leader, trainer, etc.) and another for the receivers (tourists, clients, etc.).

On the other hand, the solution offers a powerful CMS that allow the companies that offer tourist visits add information and organized the routes. In this platform, the users can manage the tourists visits: number of people, who the guide is, visit options, sites information…

Tourists will receive the guide's instructions on their mobile phones during the course of the visit/s, also adding different functionalities that will allow the tourism company to have effective and quality control of the groups they manage, being able to have statistics, effective control of the people they lead, quality control of the visit, etc.

Likewise, from the tourist side they will have some advantages that until now they could not have, such as prior information on the visit they are going to make, direct communication with the tourist company, guides, etc., assistance options in case they get lost, etc.

Not only have we managed to eliminate physical devices, and the dependency on them, but we have also increased utilities that will help and improve the quality of the visit. In addition, we favor the environment and create a more Sustainable Tourism adapted to new technologies, eliminating physical devices, the use of disposable headphones, etc.

To carry out the proof of concept, an expert in product definition and a senior tech specialist joined forces to find out about the feasibility of the product and designed the solution according our requirements. After a satisfactory result ans since the kick-off, a full stack team composed by 1 product owner, 1 UX/UI designer, 1 Swift developer and 1 Kotlin developer were at our disposal.

There are many tourism companies that are interested in incorporating On Guide into their regular work, showing great interest in an app that gives them enormous independence from physical devices (indispensable to take care of their voice, manage groups and improve the quality of their services). . In addition, by having other additional advantages, it is not just a simple sender and receiver does not offer, the quality of your work rises exponentially.

The continuous communication, together with the constant adaptation of the proposals made, as well as the monitoring of the entire project, continuous improvement, etc., makes working with Mobivery very easy and progress is made positively, and in the shortest possible time. Either through its monitoring software, like all the personnel assigned to the project.

The ability to adapt to the needs that arise, the understanding of the project entrusted to them. The teamwork that they've shown allows the results to appear in a simple and successful way.

The result has been completely satisfactory. Not only the image but the result offered to the needs raised, have been outstanding at all times, we have always had help in all areas where we raised any questions, both in production, design, development, etc., the work has been excellent.

I was the head of iOS engineering at letgo, leading a team of +15 engineers. Our company had about 150+ engineers developing and mantaining our apps/website of our classified ads business mainly focused in the US and Turkey. I led our engineering team distributed across squads.

Once we selected the vendor the engineers were introduced to their teams. Mobivery's engineers ramped up with our Core team. Then we tried to integrated them as much as possible .

They shared the same meetings and collaborations as every in in-house engineers. Then they started working in regular sprints. Me and Android head of engineering were having regular meetings with them to followup.

We were helped by 2 Android engineers + 2 iOS engineers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We definitely covered our needs of delivering product features as expected, so it definitely was a success. OKRs [Objective and Key Results] were on track in the teams they were helping most of the times.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective cos' they were fully integrated in our teams. Remote comm could have been improved though.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Good mood, always eager to help and to learn how can to things in a better way. It's always easy to have retrospective conversations with them. They are really easy going! :)

We were very satisfied with the work they delivered. I personally missed having onboard their product team members, cos of their experience, but we had that already covered in-house.

We had the project to develop different apps that could help Production team to handle with the complexity of daily manufacturing issues, and to better coordinate the different areas.

What were your goals for this project?

The main goal was to give access to manufacturing information in real time by using smartphones. Production teams spend a lot of time on the workshop solving issues and coordinating people and works, without having access to their laptops. Quick access to critical information saves time and helps taking better decisions on the go.

How did you select Mobivery?

After doing some research and asking for recommendations, we came up with different options from which we decided to select Mobivery. The first impression was great from a professional and technical standpoint. As soon as we started the project, we confirmed they were the right decision.

The project consisted in developing different apps to provide useful real-data to help Production team to coordinate the daily operations along the workshop, as well as giving them the ability to perform certain operations directly with their smartphones. With the support of Mobivery we came up with three different apps:

• Manufacturing orders: this app allows the user to access all the information related to a work order simply by scanning its QR code. From that you can get the operations or the work order and their status, materials required for the manufacturing, costing information, quality records or any type of incident.
• Operators: this app provides you with a list of the different plants and work stations under your supervision, so that you can see in real time the tracking of the different operations performed along the day by a certain operator.
• Pictures: this app allows you to take a picture or film a video with the smartphone, so that you can link it to different type of concepts directly on the workshop: non quality issues, part numbers, delivery orders, manufacturing tools, incidents… All three apps really helped save time and cost during the manufacturing process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

An increase of the efficiency on the manufacturing operations has been the main outcome. We made it by reducing bureaucracy in paper along the workshop and allowing quicker solutions to incidents thanks to real time information.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Apart from the different meetings stablished from the beginning of the project (kick-off, preliminary design review, etc.), the project coordination was mainly run through Basecamp. This tool was new for us, but we found it to be very easy to use, and a great tool to keep everything organized and everybody updated.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to organize and structure the development phases from the beginning was impressive. Right questions from the very first meeting and a good definition of the apps helped the project to run smoothly. In addition to that, they also showed agility and capacity to adapt and react well to changes on our side.

There might be some, as it normally happens to all of us, but I cannot pick any clear one.

Within 1 week after submit the apps to the stores we head the SFC apps, we’ve got over 130,000 downloads and 4,5-star ratings in Apple Store and Google Play. The app smooth the contact with the fans thanks to the push notifications and we’ve received great feedback on the usability and look and feel of the app.

They are very transparent thanks to the communication tools they share with the client. You have an easy access to the product owner, and the team provided us fortnightly sprint reviews. We connected regularly over Basecamp and you can see the real-time progress of your project in Trello.

They care about your product as it were theirs. The team is very professional and come with several solutions for each challenge. They have an impressive knowledge about mobile app design and development so their advice was very valuable. They understood very well our purpose and they went above and beyond to get it.

In a kickoff meeting, we were introduced to the developers assigned to the project and to the project manager. Meetings took place daily during which the flow of information took place smoothly. The beta version arrived on time for the testers.

Their feedback was either solved ready for the following scheduled review (if bugs) or discussed deeply to enrich the required decision, that in all cases took place meeting the original schedule. Once the final version was delivered, the documentation received met the commitments.

Just 3 months from launch we signed an agreement with the largest printer dealer in Mexico, an agreement with the second-largest chain of cartridge reseller in Italy, and an agreement with the largest stationary purchasing group in Spain.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Reviews were taken place daily. The minutes were communicated to all the people involved in the project (including myself) daily, with an executive summary but the option to jump into the details. Everything ran very smoothly. No time lost at any phase of the project (which is what you expect when you involve highly-skilled engineers in a project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Communication is easy and we did daily standups which worked great. The team provides great feedback and is also comfortable with us providing feedback to them. On some projects we had many iterations and on others very few, but the team is always professional and handles it well.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Very effective, with a dedicated Project Manager and daily standup meetings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I enjoyed working with everyone I interacted with. Working with sub-contractors can be challenging but not in this case.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Time zone differences are obviously a consideration but we are used to it in our company so it wasn't a major roadblock.
