I'm the CTO and founder of a company that has a platform built with patented technology to securely store, organize and manage digital assets and creative rights.

As an emerging tech company with a need to quickly and efficiently develop and deploy new products, services and feature enhancements we needed to rapidly supplement and expand our software / application development team. Hiring and recruiting developers locally is very time consuming and costly as such we made a decision to supplement our team with offshore/remote developers.

We were looking for a software development firm that could not only provide highly skilled and talented developers but also had a strong leadership team to take on the role to effectively recruit and manage our team of developers. In early 2020 we met with Mobile Reality (Matt and Marcin) at our offices to discuss our business and technical requirements while they were in town for the CES convention.

During the meeting Mobile Reality demonstrated their in-depth technical expertise and experience that could be leveraged to help us fulfill our requirements. Based on this meeting and a few follow up discussions we were confident Mobile Reality was fully capable of assisting in meeting both our business and technical needs.

Mobile Reality provides a team that specializes in Node.JS, React.JS and React Native to help us enhance and develop new features for our existing web and mobile applications. Mobile Reality worked on both the frontend and backend applications. Based on the success of our initial engagement we have also utilized the Mobile Reality team to develop and build various other new applications with the newest being an NFT platform.

During the course of our business relationship we have worked with 20+ Mobile Reality team members that included engineers, designers, project managers and QA testers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since the successful completion and delivery of our initial project the Mobile Reality team continues to support and enhance our existing applications. Additionally we have expanded and grown our Mobile Reality team to accommodate our development of numerous other applications some of which are still in development.

Using our Jira, Confluence, Google Workspace, Zoom and other tools Mobile Reality provides dedicated project managers to ensure the development timeline and deliverables are completed as planned.

We are very impressed with Mobile Reality’s ability to consistently provide resources in a timely manner to meet our business needs. And all resources provided have Senior level talent with extensive experience and technical knowledge.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As expected with any development team there’s always room for improvement. With that said, during our ongoing engagement Mobile Reality’s project managers are continually working with our team in identifying and implementing improvements to further enhance our development processes when needed.

The team was also responsible for creating a backend application for this system. The application was designed to aggregate internal document data and sharing it between clients.

The main goal was to set everything up from scratch. The main issue was connected with the pdf generation of dynamic data. It was a crucial point and Mobile Reality has managed to resolve it.

An important feature for us was the creation of PDFs for emailing needs. The PDF generation was processed using LATEX language and the fine complex details were built to a high degree of accuracy.

The core team consisted of one frontend developer and one backend/devops developer as well as one team lead who was also responsible for the communication with me/us.

Project management was done very well. Our main contact person was always available if needed. Deadlines were kept most of the time and if not delays were communicated well ahead of time. We communicated via mainly over Slack, E-mail, Hangouts-calls.

The project had very tight deadlines. I'm very happy to say that Mateusz and his team delivered in a big way - working with them couldn't have been easier.

They are consummate software development professionals, knowledgable on the latest technologies and frameworks and producing software using modern agile software development methodologies.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Being based in Poland, having regular check-ins with them during North American business hours was never an issue and they were very responsive to feedback, sometimes making revisions and updates by the next day if not sooner.
