What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?

We're a traditional FMCG company. We do general trade, FMCG, and distribute our products to retail outlets. With MOBIKASA, we aimed to create a website to enter the D2C segment. We wanted to sell our products to reach the consumer directly.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Our team has been collaborating with MOBIKASA to develop three Shopify websites from scratch. We are closely involved in the process. 

We had some e-commerce giants in mind as references who are prevalent in India. 

The first site is an e-commerce website that sells Ashirwad products. MOBIKASA was given our complete Ashirwad brand language, and they successfully incorporated the functionality of the references we provided with our brand design and logo. 

They've provided end-to-end services, including design creation, SKU listing, inventory management software integration, website development, graphics, and Shopify coding. Currently, two other websites are being developed and are more content based. The team is responsible for designing and architecting the websites, conducting quality assurance, website maintenance, improving performance, and adding new pages as the products grow.

We work directly with the project manager. She communicates with all stakeholders and coordinates the project. She involves the appropriate individuals to ensure seamless progress.

How did you come to work with MOBIKASA?

We searched for agencies specializing in developing Shopify sites. We narrowed our options to four companies based on our criteria and budget. We invited them to pitch and were impressed with the work MOBIKASA had previously done. 

Following a call with them, we ultimately decided to proceed with their services. As this was the first project outsourced by ITC Limited, we didn't have internal references to rely on.

The total project cost is $50,000-$150,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in September 2022, and it's ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've received great feedback on our overall experience. Our CRM team has been in direct contact with over 50 customers who have ordered from our site, and 99% of them have thoroughly enjoyed the website's experience. Our goal was to create a seamless checkout process, and we have been successful. 

Before launching our website, we exclusively sold our products offline. Since its launch, we have noticed a substantial boost in sales within our geographic region. Approximately 5% of our sales come through the website, and we are happy with this progress.

How did MOBIKASA perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been impeccable. In the past, we faced challenges with some of our partners, but MOBIKASA has proved to be exceptional. Their team ensures timely delivery and stays within budget.

We predominantly communicate via email, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. We have scheduled weekly meetings where they share and update us. They gave us access to Shopify, allowing us to log in and check the progress. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm thoroughly impressed with their prompt delivery. The team is successfully executing all their plans while maintaining the high quality of their design. Despite having a limited timeframe, they've done an excellent job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They consistently meet our expectations, which is why we have trusted them with additional projects. MOBIKASA is now our go-to partner for any development needs.

MOBIKASA will deliver the right solution for their client. The team is highly professional, and there's no need for specific tips to work effectively with them.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

The project has taken longer than I expected; half of this has to do with my expectations, and half has to do with MOBIKASA’s changes. They’ve changed our project manager and delayed meetings. They’ve had some issues being on time with deliverables. There have been a few delays, but the project is almost done. The timelines have changed throughout the project, though. The budget has been as expected; there haven’t been any changes there.

Chirag (Project Coordinator) is our account manager and primary contact.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their design is very good; the actual website is very nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Timeline management is the major area for improvement.

Make sure you are very clear about what you want. Establish timelines and try to hold MOBIKASA accountable to their timelines.

We needed their development expertise for our e-commerce website. Since we’re a rental platform, there’s no off-the-shelf solution available.

What was the scope of their involvement?

MOBIKASA has built an e-commerce website for us from scratch. They’ve finished phase one of the project and are now working on phase two. 

Initially, MOBIKASA met with us to get our requirements. Then, they came back to us with a project timeline, cost, and contract. Once we decided to move forward, I had discussions with MOBIKASA’s design team, who came back to us with designs, which we tweaked.

Once the design was confirmed, we moved on to the build stage. We supplied MOBIKASA with images, and they built the website and its different modules. Then, we had a testing phase, and now we’ve gone live with the product.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

MOBIKASA is very easily contactable. We’re based in the UK, and they’re based in India, so we use WhatsApp for quick communication and email as well. If we need to, we jump on a call. We also use a Trello board to put up queries that need further investigation.

We went over deadlines slightly due to holidays or issues on the rental module, but there were no significant delays.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

MOBIKASA has a very approachable and knowledgeable team. They’re easy to contact and willing to accommodate requests.

Are there any areas they could improve?

A MOBIKASA staff member decided to leave during the project, and we could’ve been told about this earlier; however, most companies don’t tell clients about these staff changes.

Have your design in mind before you speak to the design team so you know exactly what you want. Also, work according to your timeline.

I’m the director of e-commerce and direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing of a woman-led haircare and beauty brand.

What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?

Our website had been running for eight years and needed a refresh and some functional work done. We needed a partner to help us update our digital presence in terms of SEO and technical enhancements to our site’s UX.

What was the scope of their involvement?

MOBIKASA has made updates to our existing website. First, we told them our needs and challenges, and they assessed our website and made recommendations. 

Ours is a Shopify e-commerce site where users can purchase products. MOBIKASA has helped us streamline the UX, guiding the consumers to click on their cart faster. MOBIKASA has also worked on visual aspects, including updating the site’s infrastructure, refining the frontend, refreshing buttons, and adding consistency to the site’s style guide. 

Additionally, MOBIKASA has helped us with the functional aspects of the website. They’ve created a new layout for our blog and updated the layouts of our product detail pages, category landing pages, and homepage. 

As for SEO, we initially had about 60 keywords we wanted to focus on. MOBIKASA has done some research and provided recommendations. We’ve gone back and forth to refine the keyword list. 

MOBIKASA has audited our website, including the content and URLs, and recommended copywriting updates. They’ve provided us with some blog articles and topics related to the keywords we selected. The team has improved some of our URLs and other metadata. Currently, MOBIKASA monitors SEO results and provides us with monthly reports on the keywords’ rankings.

MOBIKASA has been fantastic to work with. The site functions as intended, and the updates meet our expectations. The team is flexible, provides recommendations, and is very accommodating working with our timelines. They always give us examples of creative assets for us to choose from. 

How did MOBIKASA perform from a project management standpoint?

They stay on time and within the budget. We’ve set up a weekly cadence to meet with them, and they’ve provided a project plan. We also have a Slack channel for easy communication and go back and forth with each other. MOBIKASA uses Trello for project management. 

The team has been helpful in setting up lines of communication, especially with them being offshore. They’ve been really flexible in accommodating the time zone difference between us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We appreciate MOBIKASA’s nimbleness. They can pivot and deliver quickly; once we discuss a deliverable, they provide it by the following week. Moreover, the team is friendly and easy to work with.

There’s nothing I’d have them improve.

The engagement has had a positive impact. Thanks to MOBIKASA’s work, we’ve reached out to a wide variety of registered voters to access their candidates. The website has been a great asset for our city, and we’ll continue utilizing MOBIKASA’s services in the future.

They’re very timely. Sometimes, they’ve had to push us forward because we had legislation and other pending items we needed to finish prior to the project. MOBIKASA has helped keep us on time.

I'm the VP of eCommerce for a luxury goods manufacturer in the U.S. We design, manufacture, and sell sunglasses from our headquarters in Massachusetts.

For what projects/services did your company hire MOBIKASA, and what were your goals?

We hired Mobikasa to be our complete development partner for all projects and ongoing maintenance. These projects range from overhauling our inventory catalog configuration to building unique page designs, to fixing lingering issues we've developed over the years.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We researched Shopify support partners and found about a dozen to reach out to. I met with 6 or 8 agencies and went through a proper proposal process. I decided on Mobikasa based on their work portfolio, their demeanor and professionalism, and their offerings.

We have multiple stores on different Shopify instances that sell similar, but unique products. Mobikasa has helped us build new pages, identify inefficiencies, and address those inefficiencies. Mobikasa has come to us proactively with solutions as well.

Most of my interactions have been between the onboarding team and the ongoing team. The onboarding team was knowledgeable about Mobikasa's offerings and were transparent on what they do well and what they aren't as well equipped to do. The ongoing team has been fantastic. We aren't as organized as a client as we should be and Mobikasa has been more than accommodating when we throw something in sideways.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We launched a new product and campaign on time even with delays from our (client) side.

Mobikasa has been flexible in their communication methods. We prefer a particular ticketing system and Mobikasa now uses that. We have asked for specific updates via email. Mobikasa has delivered what we've asked for.

The responsiveness from the team has been the most impressive part of our relationship. I'm also pleased with Mobikasa's willingness to learn new products that we require from our side.

MOBIKASA designed and developed our Shopify website. Users can make purchases on the website, and we also use it as a catalog. If clients don’t like shopping online, we give them the option to shop via WhatsApp or directly with us.

I’m a fashion designer; we manufacture high-end Indian attire such as saris and suits.

What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?

We engaged MOBIKASA to design and develop a basic e-commerce website for users to view our luxury products. Users typically navigate our site from Facebook and Instagram and use it as a reference point, but they make in-store purchases. 

Most of our clientele don’t have the time to go through long-winded shopping processes, so we wanted to make the purchasing experience easier for them. Our goal was to create a professional site that could toe the line between encouraging users to visit our stores and allowing them to make online purchases more easily.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, MOBIKASA showed us a few website templates in Shopify, and we chose the template that best fit our style. Then, we chose the colors and font, and the team developed the site from scratch. 

After they developed the site, I uploaded pictures and content, and they went back and made a few changes to improve the functionality.

MOBIKASA designed and developed a beautiful website that really does our brand justice; the team gave me everything I asked for. The website looks luxurious and user-friendly; it’s easy for users to navigate and make purchases through Shopify. I got exactly what I needed from them, which is a big deal.

How did MOBIKASA perform from a project management standpoint?

I was very happy with Sanchit and the team; they were very responsive and prompt. The team was very communicative throughout the process; they quickly answered my questions, which was great because I didn’t have a lot of patience. 

We met via Google Meet and typically discussed project details via WhatsApp and finalized everything via email. I’m not a fan of calls, so the process worked for me. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with their responsiveness and ability to manage the project efficiently. When Sanchit was on leave, he assigned another team member to take my calls, answer my questions, and keep the team on track, which made me very happy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing MOBIKASA could improve on; I was pretty happy with the results.

I advise approaching MOBIKASA when you know exactly what you want from the project. Once you communicate your needs, they’ll do the job very quickly.

I am the co-founder of Innovative Nutrition, which is in the field of naturopathic supplements.

We started in 2020, so we are quite a young company. There are 4–8 people in the company, and we hire extra freelancers when needed.

What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?

We needed help building our website and creating our online store. Our product already existed, and we needed a sales engine.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We decided to use Shopify, as we'd already done quite extensive design work on it, but MOBIKASA helped us optimize our design so that it was really customer friendly. When we were happy, we continued with the development. Now that the site is finished, we're going on a separate journey with marketing.

At the outset, we presented them with a PowerPoint presentation of what we envisioned. When MOBIKASA came in, they made our site prettier, positioned everything well, and chose the right colors and pictures.

They have a lot of experience, and we realized that taking their suggestions would be a very good idea. We insisted on some things, but what they suggested made sense at that time. They showed us three designs initially, but they weren't exactly what we were looking for. The following week, they came back with another design that was much more in line with our direction. 

What is the team composition?

The project was split into two parts. We initially had a design team, including a project manager who led the team of designers. There was also someone that actually did the design work, as well as someone who was in charge of handling the entire project.

We then worked with 4–5 people for the development. The same lead from the design part continued with us to ensure everything ran smoothly. 1–2 other people did the actual coding.

How did you come to work with MOBIKASA?

Based on the reviews we read on Clutch and the cost, we decided to go with MOBIKASA. We felt that they could support us on our journey to develop our website.

How much have you invested in them?

In total, the cost was around $18,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We signed the contract in May 2021, and the website went live in December 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We just began the engagement, so it's hard to determine success based on numbers, but I can say that the website is designed to be optimized and user-friendly.

There were no problems with the design team. We had some disagreements, which is normal for this kind of project, but we worked very professionally. When we addressed something we didn’t like, they came back to us with constructive feedback.

Everything went smoothly with the development team initially as well. We did think the project would be done two months earlier than it was, however. We always got feedback and communicated with them weekly, but by the end of the project, they didn’t provide a lot of feedback; the wait time for things to be checked increased. 

The scheduling was also delayed due to COVID-19, which was understandable. People worked hard, even when they were sick. The delays also could have been our fault as well because we struggle to determine what was most important. We are a team of perfectionists. ​​​​​​Finally, In Europe, GDPR policy is a huge deal, and MOBIKASA never really took it into consideration.

How did MOBIKASA perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a shared Google sheet that tracked everything that needed to be done. We knew exactly what the design team had to do; when that was completed, we continued on with the development. We felt that everything was managed really well, and we knew where we were with the cost.

We used Trello and shared Google Docs and communicated through Google Meet once per week. There were also calls if there were urgent questions. MOBIKASA were very attentive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The highlight of working with them is how much they care about our project. I've worked with a lot of different freelancers and people here in Germany, and I have to say that it isn’t the same. If we have an issue or a question, we quickly write them an email or have a phone call, and things are solved right away. That isn't usually the case here in Germany, however. The fact that MOBIKASA really cares about the project is outstanding. Our project isn't just another job that needs to be done.

Are there any areas they could improve?

MOBIKASA's team members are really nice and friendly, but I would say they can educate us more about what is or isn't important. We've lost a lot of time because we weren’t aware of crucial items and tasks, like changing letter size and paragraphs compared to GDPR policies. It would have been good if MOBIKASA had let us know what could be done at the very end, allowing us to focus on larger priorities.

We're a very young company that's learning along the way, and I guess these are things that come with experience. I would be perfectly open to hearing what the standard protocol of working is.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When you are working with the design team, it is important to be clear about what you want. Additionally, make sure that you establish that you're willing to talk to them openly about all feedback. It is important to establish that so that no one is offended by anything.

If you are a European company, make sure that you're familiar with GDPR when working with any development company. This is something we're still working on.

I’m the COO of a Philadelphia-based design studio. We develop websites and make print, branding, and wayfinding materials.

What challenge were you trying to address with MOBIKASA?

We needed to create an e-commerce platform that required some custom development. We talked with our regular partners, but none of them could pull it off. We were looking for someone to do the job for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MOBIKASA has built an e-commerce store using Shopify and created an app that improves the store’s functionality. They’ve used our designs to develop the store, but the app has been built from scratch. They’ve done front- and backend work using HTML, CSS, and SQL. 

MOBIKASA’s app allows users to preview products together and turn on and off clothing items. They’ve also created an event engine where guests can be invited to be part of an event. The site has already launched, and we’re currently implementing additional features on the site.
