I’m the trust manager of a building materials company. We provide products for residential and commercial buildings. Moreover, we have nine locations across the Metro Atlanta area and an average of $200 million yearly revenue. Before, I used to be the project manager.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with MIS Solutions, Inc?

When I joined my company, we had a smaller managed IT services provider based in another state. We had some issues with that service provider, so we started looking for other options with local representatives.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MIS Solutions is in charge of hosting all of our servers — we have about 20. Their team also hosts our ERP system for delivery, dispatch, and document management and handles our tech support.

MIS Solutions’ work also includes new user setups, specific training, network security compliance, and network infrastructure management. Their training has included standard PC usage, application training, and software usage training.

Their team also handles our enterprise purchasing and software license management, including our Microsoft license. Basically, they’ve been in charge of revamping and managing our entire IT systems, offering both on-site and remote support. Whenever we have projects coming up, we consult with them to look at any changes that would be required for our infrastructure, as well as any training involved.

Initially, MIS Solutions came in and talked with everyone within our organization who had anything to do with computer-related activities to identify our needs, security gaps, and infrastructure gaps. They documented everything and provided us with a solution.

We then reviewed MIS Solutions’ proposal before implementing it. Their team then established a schedule for the implementation. After that, they handled the migration of our email, hosting services, and applications.

MIS Solutions also provided us with help desk support for an extended period for our main location. Additionally, for around 24 months, we had one of their representatives in our main location one day per week to do further interviews, suggest improvements, and verify that everything was running properly.

What is the team composition?

MIS Solutions’ team has changed over the years. For example, two technicians have been assigned to our help desk. We’ve also worked with Eric (Enterprise Account Manager). Additionally, they have teams for different areas, such as a cloud team and a customer service team. Overall, around eight of their team members have been involved in the process.

How did you come to work with MIS Solutions, Inc?

When we were looking for other managed IT service providers, we found MIS Solutions and interviewed them. Finding them was a result of their marketing efforts, as we were originally contacted by them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $2 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with MIS Solutions for over five years. Our engagement started in the spring of 2018, and it’s still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since working with MIS Solutions, our uptime has greatly increased, and we haven’t experienced significant cybersecurity events. Additionally, our user support requests have greatly decreased. Throughout our engagement, we’ve gone from 60 users to around 200 users.

As for the quality of their work, I would give MIS Solutions almost perfect ratings; they’ve been excellent. The team does their due diligence, follows up, and continuously looks for ways to understand our processes and our needs. Moreover, they continuously give us suggestions for better performance — they’ve acted as a true partner.

How did MIS Solutions, Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

MIS Solutions has delivered on time and within budget. Although we’ve had a few overages in those regards, neither we nor they have had control over the situation, and the instances have been few and far apart.

Our communication channels depend on the needs at the time. MIS Solutions is more than willing to meet in person when needed. Still, most of our conversations or ticket openings happen over the phone. We directly call their help desk. We can also send tickets via email. Either way, they’re very responsive.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Eric has done a great job; he’s a fantastic representative for us to this day. Moreover, James (Cloud Engineer) has been of great help for a long time. Although he has changed roles within MIS Solutions, he’s still involved in the project and does a fantastic job too. He has learned about our environment and culture and blended really well within our company — he’s an outstanding member of their team.

Chad (Support Scalation Engineer) has also been of tremendous help. He’s very responsive and digs deep to find solutions for our issues.

What did you find most impressive about them?

MIS Solutions’ willingness to come in and learn about our company, culture, needs, and goals has been impressive. Their owners are very engaged and are great partners overall. They get involved, find out where we want to go, and present solutions to achieve those objectives. I couldn’t ask for a better partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything MIS Solutions could improve on; they’ve done a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Get your key players involved early in the process. Let MIS Solutions interview them, ask questions, provide documentation, and don’t be shy about being actively involved. That way, MIS Solutions will get the best information and be very clear about your needs and goals.

MIS Solutions tries to resolve tickets within 24–48 hours. If they're not resolved, I follow up with someone to find out where they are in the status. If I don't think they're resolving tickets in a timely manner, I coordinate with Eric. However, we haven't had any delays. They've met our expectations in terms of performance and service quality.

How did MIS Solutions, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

The team meets deadlines and stays on budget. They provide feedback reports on any tickets my employees open. There's a ticket system that I review daily to see the ticket statuses. I have weekly calls with the technology manager to go over the prior week's activities and plan for the next project. We're in constant communication with any needs that the employees have.

When technical issues arise, we put in a ticket or call if it needs immediate attention. Then, we go through their routing service, which routes us to an engineer. The engineer talks through the issue and opens a ticket to ensure we have a history of the issue. If there's a critical issue, they have a dedicated phone number we can call for immediate attention.

Their communication and planning are impressive. They're good at meeting deadlines.

No, there aren't any.

Ensure you communicate effectively and in a timely manner. Make sure items are followed through, followed up on, and taken to completion. Additionally, ensure you have a record of that.

I’m the managing attorney at a law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia.

What challenge were you trying to address with MIS Solutions, Inc.?

We needed someone to manage our technology infrastructure, so we hired MIS.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MIS manages all of our technology infrastructure, providing both on-site and remote services. Their scope has included purchasing and installing all of our company’s hardware and software, as well as certifying us for data security compliance.

Moreover, MIS manages all of our IT resources and handles our cybersecurity. Their cybersecurity services include performing penetration testing and protecting our database.

What is the team composition?

MIS has a team dedicated to serving our company, although I don’t know how many teammates that team includes. Eric (Enterprise Client Account Manager) is my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with MIS Solutions, Inc.?

We’ve been a client of MIS for many years, so I don’t remember much about the discovery phase. Still, I found them because they’re also in Atlanta. Moreover, they had good reviews on the sources I looked at, so that was the reason why I contacted them. When I met with their owners, I felt good about engaging them, so I hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay them over $40,000 per year.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been doing business with MIS since 2010.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

MIS’ work is very successful because we haven’t experienced any downtime, and our network speed has increased. Additionally, their cybersecurity work is excellent; we haven’t experienced attacks.

How did MIS Solutions, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

MIS’ project management is very good; they’re communicative, meet their deadlines, and stay on budget. Moreover, their team approach works very well. We communicate via phone calls and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

MIS is proactive in helping me ensure that I have everything I need to operate my business. They understand my business and my needs and manage our IT infrastructure accordingly. Moreover, their team is very responsive and knowledgeable.
