We’re a strategic consulting company based in France. I’m the managing partner of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Microbits?

We had a US client that wanted to see an online presence for us before signing but we didn’t have a website yet; it was always in production but it never launched. Microbits helped us publish the website so we could land the client.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The website was only in the concept stage, and I worked with Microbits to execute the site and get it launched, quickly. After we won the client, they became our partner and brought on many new clients for us. Now, Microbits handles all the website services for my clients. The volume of work we give to them has grown.

They did branding, logo, SEO, marketing campaigns, websites design, and letterhead creation for us. For our clients, they do websites, branding, SEO, and social media campaign management.

For every project, we start with a brief of what we want from our end, and they translate it into an execution plan. From there, we coordinate very closely to ensure the work is progressing forward.

What is the team composition?

I’ve interacted with their online solutions manager and partner, a senior account manager, and several designers. I also work with their marketing manager.

How did you come to work with Microbits?

We met by accident at a business meeting where they were presenting social media work while I worked at a previous position. They introduced their capabilities and helped me solve problems with my organization’s website, as well as create a mobile app.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $50,000–$100,000. The price is going, as our budgets increase according to our incoming clients.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together at my current post since March 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They provide the right level of service and are able to keep the clients organized and structured. I’ve gotten more business because of working with Microbits. They’re sharp and they know their stuff.

Our initial scope of work was $3,000, and everything above that is revenue for us and them. That $3,000 opened up a business stream of about $100,000.

How did Microbits perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m not sure what tool they were using internally. Microbits handles all the project management and client communication; I’m just a bystander. They manage the communication well.

My communication with them happens via email and WhatsApp. They accommodate whatever the client uses, but they have a very smart platform they use for onboarding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They know their side of the business well enough that, when they advise the client, they can ground them, even if the client is somewhat difficult, like I am.

The practical, high-quality advice they give stands out. Rather than being a typical IT company, they’re business minded and can help guide you to what you want. They’re aware of how SEO works and how to manage an online presence where most clients usually are not. They’re design is excellent as well, but they really understand our business needs.

Additionally, they’re very competitive. When you ask for a design, the price range can vary a lot but it is always reasonable with Microbits. What is doubly impressive is the speed at which they deliver solutions for this price. They got our website up in three days by working overnight.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everyone has room for improvement so I can’t say nothing; one thing I would say — and they’re already doing it — is becoming more international. Many clients come from all over the world, so having a 24/7 support system would be good. They have to figure out how to be online all the time for their clients. None of my clients in the US have complained, though, so they’re doing well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Take a look at their portfolio and then take their advice. At the end of the day, they’re in the business of online management and they know what should be posted where.

I’m a bad example, as I rushed our delivery, but you should give their designers ample time to be creative and execute options.

We’ve seen an increase in site visits and sales. Last year, we increased our registrations and sales by 178%. Our retention has also increased by around 50%.
