Roadway were looking for a bespoke works delivery system and app to provide all staff with live, current information and with an auditable trail from start to finish of delivering works.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

From delivery of our product, we have seen vast improvments in the way we deliver our works. the information to and from our staff is delivered fast and the facilities we have within our product allows us to be in the know 100% of the time.

Merisis managed the project efficiently and met all deadline on time. All our needs were met and where minor changes were needed, they facilitated with ease.

We have a database that we use for running our business, we paid a company for a bespoke database to suit us and provide ongoing support. At extremely short notice, the company decided to cease trading and support was no longer avialable, leaving us very exposed as a business

We were recommended to look at Merisis and even though our databse is written in an older format, they worked with us to understand it and how they could support us, this was a huge benefit for us as a business and in the initial phase we could offer very little background information as we are mechanical engineers, not software engineers

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Shortly after we engaged Merisis to be our support partner, we had a major issue with our current databse deployment, Merisis engaged withour IT support (hardware) company, understood the problem and issued a fix for us, without Merisis and their patience, we would have been stuck, the support is ongoing and we now have a yearly agreement for support

Merisis had a main contact for us to initially feed our issues through and that contact looked after any communication needed between us, our IT support and their own developers, response time was excellent, we could not have asked for more and the issue was sorted over several online meetings with ourselves, they are a very attentive company

We now have a suport cvontract in place and any issues are now logged with their support desk, again contact is always swift

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We are mechanical engineers and know little about software engineering and yet Merisis were able to extract the information required to allow them to get up and running, including extracting the source code from our previous software support company, it was sucha friendly and yet professional approach, we very quickly found ourselves feeling very comfortable in their company and they did not rush the process, they allowed us the time to understand what they needed from us

Are there any areas for improvement or something Merisis could have done differently?

I can't imagine anything I would have liked Merisis to do differently, to be honest, when our previous incumbent let us down, we were fearful of trying to find someone else, although fair to say our previous company were difficult to deal with and I think that maybe set our expectations

Finding Merisis was a breath of fresh air for us and way better than we previously had.

I'm the former director of an award-winning inspections software company. We help letting agents, property managers, inventory clerks, and contractors produce property reports with ease.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Merisis?

We were having technical difficulties with our app, and our developers at the time were struggling to solve the issues. We hired Merisis to fix our existing app and dashboard that were having major technical difficulties and were unreliable.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Merisis worked on fixing our app to enable it to be reliable and stable, especially when handling and processing lots of photos. The team focused on improving how photos were taken, stored, processed, and synced between the app and platform.

What is the team composition?

It varied over the years, but we worked with 1–3 teammates from Merisis.

How did you come to work with Merisis?

We met Merisis at a business trade show event. The team understood our pain points and gave us confidence that they could help.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Merisis in December 2013. Once the initial project was delivered, we continued working with them as our key app and platform partner until we exited our business in 2024.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Once the reworked apps were delivered, we immediately had confidence in the apps and were able to continue ramping up business sales. Our existing customers also regained confidence in the reliability of the software. We launched version 2 of the software, gained further sales traction, and received our first industry award in 2014. This resulted in more brand awareness and sales, generating more revenue that we could re-invest in further development with Merisis. The main challenge was the amount of rework that needed to be re-done, as they uncovered errors and issues with the existing code. Merisis handled the challenges extremely well and were diligent and methodical in their approach

How did Merisis perform from a project management standpoint?

Merisis' project management was excellent and suited our continuous development of the product. The team was always very responsive, understood our product roadmap and what we were trying to achieve, and generally delivered on time and to budget. They were reliable and timely in their communication with us so that we understood what was happening and when changes would be delivered. We used email, weekly online meetings, and occasional face-to-face meetings to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Merisis understood our needs, spoke in non-technical terms, and delivered working code.
