I’m the SVP executive producer of an advertising agency. I spearhead all of our production efforts that are digital or experiential.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We wanted to create a custom website that would allow for 360-degree video viewing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We collaborated with Majestyk to take our concept and initial layout of a website and finalize its UI/UX design. We also had them look for a development partner who could provide a 360-degree video player and handle the site’s QA testing. The site featured a countdown component to track when the site would officially go live. At a strategic moment, we launched the website ahead of content we had aired on a televised award show.

We interfaced with three primary team leads from an account, design, and tech perspective. I don’t know how many designers or developers worked to support them.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

They were recommended to me by a co-worker. Considering the short timeline and limited budget we had available for this project, we didn’t look for other vendors.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

This project took place December 2016–January 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had a lot of media coverage of the rollout as it was part of a larger advertising initiative for a retail brand. As a result, we had products in retail locations, a TV spot, and social media all driving people to view a specific piece of 360-content on the site. Therefore, it was crucial the site be working correctly as it was the crux of our marketing efforts. Additionally, finding a third party that could provide a 360-degree video player that’s compatible with our requirements was a difficult task.

Majestyk found the right partner and integrated them with the site efficiently. The site proved to be very successful and worked well for all consumers accessing it on different devices.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re incredibly responsive via email conference calls. We were working right up until the last minute to get the two phases of the site ready to launch at a specific time. Majestyk was helpful leading up to this process and planning for the launch. However, we didn’t have a lot of time to properly test the site before it was time to go live. Having a team like them on standby after-hours and on the weekends made it possible for everything to go smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their dedication is inspiring. It was a tricky project that required a quick turnaround. They worked holidays and weekends to ensure prompt delivery. I always felt like they were putting all of their resources behind this and that was incredibly comforting.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We work with different production partners of varying size and Majestyk is one of the smallest we’ve engaged with. Some pros and cons come with working with a small company, so I’d recommend potential customers be aware of that going forward.

I'm the CEO of Ryng Labs. We’re a PBX management and communications company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We've had a product for several years that focused on the desktop. As we moved to a more mobile-centric solution, we needed a development team to design and incorporate our technology into an iOS app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They managed the design, backend and frontend development of the iOS app to be compliant with Apple’s latest operating systems.

We gave them an outline of what we were looking for and they worked with our CTO to make that happen. They did everything from the design of different modules for dealing with real-time communication to getting it up and running with our portal.

The finished product launched in the app store the first week of January.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three individuals. The president was our lead contact and he had two developers alongside him.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

Through a friend who had worked with them in the past. We looked at three different companies that bid on a part of the project and we ultimately chose to work with them. They were very competitive on price and they delivered what they said they could deliver.

How much have you invested with them?

Around $17,000 – $18,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first conversation was in September 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're still in beta for this project. We've just got it out for testing to our shareholders as well as some internal team members. Everything's been working perfectly as of today. The app works and it got through the app store, which is everything that we needed from them.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

Our lead contact was great. He kept us involved the whole time. He had several conference calls as needed with our CTO and me.

They were right on budget. I think they came in a little below the estimated hours. From a deadlines standpoint, we had hoped to get it out in December. That delay was mainly on our side, getting some of the corresponding technologies to work with mobile applications. It wasn’t their fault.

We didn’t use any project management tools. I put a lot of trust in my CTO and the idea that you pay for what you get. When you turn to an app house or a dev house, you hope that they can perform on what they said they can do. We were very happy with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They kept us in the loop. I've worked with developers in the past where they'd go a couple weeks, come back and say, this is where we're at. They were giving us updates as they went along, which was nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not at this time.

We are the agency of record for a major automotive manufacturer. I am a producer in our global content studio.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We were developing an MVP for an application for our end client.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We are under a strict non-disclosure agreement until the app is released, but Majestyk did a lot for the app’s UX. We came to them with our ideas and general concept, and they helped us with all the coding and UX flow. We couldn’t work with iOS. They helped re-scope some of our ideas that were too big for an operating system, and created solutions and workarounds to give us the capabilities we needed. Once the app is released, I may be able to go into more detail.

What is the team composition?

We had between six and eight people working on the project from their team, which included all the coders they provided. We worked primarily with Sean [Co-founder & President, Majestyk], which may be different from their standard flow.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

We compared other vendors, but Majestyk won the bid.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started work on the project in March 2017. Revisions and updates were completed in August 2017, and it’s now in internal review with the end client before its launch.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Once the internal review is complete and the app launches, I may have more information to show the project’s impact. It was presented to focus groups as part of our review process.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

They were quick, and adapted through multiple scope changes. We communicated mostly through phone and email, and built updates through a responsive process via the internet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were a great vendor. Since I don’t have any real background in app development, I can’t make a comparison, but they definitely met all of our needs. They were really good at coaching us through the process and leading us in the right direction. We came in with little to no experience within our team, but they led us through the completion of the MVP.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, but again, I have no base of reference for comparison.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re a good vendor if you need help learning the process. They’re really capable, and willing to hold your hand if you need it.

I own an iOS application that allows users to track sports scores and statistics in real time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

I had the idea, and needed an outside group to assist with design and development of the product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Majestyk led both the design and development processes. After describing my vision for design and functionality, they provided feedback and initial wireframes, which we sent back and forth until we reached a consensus. Once finalized, they developed the app and assisted with publishing in the App Store.

What is the team dynamic?

I worked with a design lead and a development lead, both of whom had one person assisting them. In the beginning of the project, I also worked with a business development manager to determine the specifics of our engagement agreement.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

I started with a broad search that included prior referrals from my network and results from general web research. I also identified several apps that had similar features and found the companies that developed them. Based on this broad search, I determined Majestyk would be the best fit.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in April 2017, and we went live in the App Store in November. The project is ongoing as I intend to work with them as I continue to improve the app and eventually port it to Android.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is very robust with over 99% of sessions crash free. The app has received positive reviews on the App Store, and has a 5-star rating.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

I worked with them remotely for most of the project, which was a new experience for me. They made it very easy to work with them and were reliable in communication via phone and email. They were very prompt and professional throughout the project, which made it a great work experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They seemed to be very dedicated to the project and went into it with an understanding that the final product would reflect not only on me, but on them as well. There was a lot of buy-in on their part, and I knew that they were considering the longer-term engagement, rather than just getting it done and moving on. For that reason, I was very satisfied in working with them, and looking forward to continuing to work with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Advice for potential customers?

I would recommend Majestyk to any potential customer, especially for entrepreneurs as well as anyone considering a remote engagement.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the product manager at Bookstr, which has recently changed. Bookstr used to be a socialized book tracking platform similar to Good Reads. Users could add books to their digital bookshelves, follow favorite authors, write reviews, and purchase new ones. It was a one-stop shop for anyone that loves to read. We also produced a lot of our own content. Bookstr had an in-house editorial team and in-house video, and all of that was hosted on the Bookstr website. We have now pivoted the company completely to run with our multimedia content because it was the most successful part of the site. Currently, Bookstr is a digital media platform hosting a bunch of our original content.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

I started working with Bookstr last summer and we had a very scattered development team. We had people in India, in Baltimore, in California, in Ukraine, all over the place. In order to streamline our development process and get everyone under the same roof, we had been looking for a third-party team similar to what Majestyk had to offer, to help us. We needed someone to step in and be a dedicated tech partner instead of having everyone all over the place and trying to put all the different pieces together. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us with an iOS app but we shut it down when the focus of our company changed. They did a little bit of work on the website before we changed things and helped us with the transition. When this decision was made to change things around, Majestyk came up with a really great plan for us to transition our users and make sure that not only were people comfortable with the changes that were happening on the website, but that they were excited for this to happen.

I worked pretty closely with them to come up with a really good plan to change the website. We wanted to let users know what was going on with using our email platform and they were really helpful with that. It was preparing users, talking to the staff, and making sure that everything would be going smoothly and no one was going to be too upset about things changing a whole bunch. They really gave us some great advice about how to handle it and how to execute and that was a key part of how seamless the change was. 

Part of the transition process was also redesigning the entire website as well as the backend, our CMS, and Majestyk was extremely supportive there, too. As a product manager, I was talking to Sean [O'Shea, Co-Founder at Majestyk] who was more or less my counterpart on their side, and he gave some great feedback from their whole team. I did the part of speaking with our staff about the CMS and what we could do to change and improve it, and I was communicating pretty regularly with Sean and his team to ensure everything that was being asked of them was manageable within the estimated timeframe. We were given a little over a month to execute and deliver on this and they did a spectacular job of doing finishing it. From the moment that we made this decision in April, it was full steam ahead.

After I spoke with our staff about their opinions, Majestyk then helped come up with a great plan to rework our CMS and delivered it, promptly. They also helped us redesign the frontend part of the website, changed functionality, and removed a lot of unnecessary content from our databases to ensure site performance was streamlined. Their design team did a lot of research and proposed several ideas and wireframes that they thought would be a good fit. We'd then discuss the pros and cons before deciding on next steps. We had some really great back and forth and they were incredibly efficient throughout the whole process.

We launched the site in May and, since then, they've helped us maintain it and they're working in parallel on a second site that would be an umbrella for the Bookstr vertical. We were planning on moving into different media verticals, and they helped us lay out the road map and groundwork for that as well.

We had three developers and three designers assigned to the project. I worked more closely with Sean and Richard who are the lead developers on our project and then Sean, who was my counterpart on their side, managing the products.

How much have you invested with Majestyk?

We spent $32,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2017, and the relationship ended in June 2017 because our funding was cut. It’s absolutely no reflection on their work at all.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

They really helped us working on the transition process from our previous product to what it is now. The greatest indicator of success was that was absolutely no change in our user experience. People were still finding their way very easily to the content that they wanted. They are still spending the same amount of time on the website, going through the same kind of user flows we’d been seeing before. That was really great to see that people were still able to navigate around the site in the ways that they wanted. It was a massive change. The site was completely different. The fact that people were still able to find the things that they wanted and there weren’t any issues at all in carrying that over really speaks to how well they had planned and put it together and worked things out for us.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

We were mostly on Slack and JIRA. Another tool that they introduced to us but we didn’t get the chance to work too much in was ProdPad. I really enjoyed doing that when we first started working with them before this massive change happened. I also know that they used Trello as a project management tool more generally, but that was an internal tool of theirs and I didn’t see much of that.

What did you find most impressive about Majestyk?

I really enjoyed working with them. They’re an incredibly well-oiled team and they all know each other very well and communicate with each other extremely well. I went to their offices a few times to have meetings and talk with them, and they were always coming up with great new ideas and interesting solutions. The fact that they were able to take a very sudden change in what our company wanted to do and execute on that in a month and a half was impressive. We made significant changes and they were able to guide us with little previous experience, which was really impressive. 

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

They were given very aggressive deadlines, so a lot of times I pulled myself back because I didn’t want to get in the way of their process. I don’t think there would be anything they need to change. They were great on all fronts, honestly. I was the only tech/product person on my team, and they were incredibly supportive of me, which I was really thankful for.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Majestyk?

Ask questions. They’re so happy to answer questions for people, and they really appreciate people trying to understand and learn their process and see how they work. Majestyk does a really good job of being proactive and keeping everyone informed, but being involved and interested in the process is really important as well, and they appreciate that from their own clients.

I’m the founder of a healthcare technology and service company. We’ve created a price and quality bidding platform for surgical services. Patients upload their records when they need surgery, then we send this out through apps to surgeons for bundled pricing and quality metrics.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

Another web developer made a very crude and rudimentary prototype for us, but its design and functionality needed to be sharpened up before we could really begin pitching it to our target customers: practicing surgeons. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had a pretty good idea of the product we were looking for because we built the prototype. However, we didn’t have an idea of the design or the functionality of how it would work in an app. For the website, they did user types, who would be using it, and how we’re going to access it. They sharpened the website and its design to make it more desirable for clients to reach us. They also didn’t just build a single website; they developed multiple microsites.

They have also been working with us with this surgeons’ app. It allows them to get data on an HIPAA-protected environment, course through the data, and enter pricing and quality metrics. The app is in iOS but they are also readying it for Android. We’re at the PDS stage and about to go to development. We’re also about to develop the updated iOS app. Around 3–4 people from Majestyk worked on it with one point of contact, but it was sometimes 2–3.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

We found Majestyk through a referral from a consultant we used to hire. They were well-vetted through the consultant, so we just went ahead with them.

How much have you invested with Majestyk?

We’ve paid $100,000 for their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working them with them early 2016. The project is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

It’s hard to determine quantitative results because we’re still in a startup stage and looking for our first client. We have test users and also surgeons who are signing up on our old prototype.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

What’s surprising to me is how quickly they can take a problem and come up with a solution. That’s astonishing. You don’t get back work that you need to double, triple, or quadruple check. This is not that type of company; this is a company that is many levels above that. Majestyk’s team take pride in the product that they deliver, at all phases in all stages. That makes them such a joy to work with. We don’t get code that breaks up. It’s amazing that everything seems to work well. Maybe there’s an occasional typo here and there, but it’s rare. We’ve been using InVision for the prototype.

What did you most impressive about Majestyk?

I've used a technical shop before, but those guys had exorbitant rates. Majestyk is much more reasonable, cost-conscious, and work with you. That is the beauty of working with them.

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

No areas for improvement based on my experience with them.

My organizations offers an 8-week summer camp program for children aged 3–15. I am the owner and director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We recently purchased the camp, and the existing website was considerably outdated. We needed to hire people whom we could trust in order to build a great site that not only looked professional but also had a camp feel. The site needed to fulfill all of the needs the old one did and also position the camp for future growth. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Majestyk developed the backend and frontend of our site. Seriously improving the aesthetics of the site wasn’t even a question; Majestyk worked extensively on user navigation and calls-to-action for enrollment and tours. In terms of unique or proprietary functionalities, we're not there yet. The site is only in its first version.

I worked directly with Majestyk's president and with one of their designers. Other than that, I'm not sure who else may or may not have worked on our project.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

I'd known Majestyk's owners for a number of years, so it was a no-brainer to use the company. I shopped the project to 3–4 other web firms, but the feedback and direction I received weren't as strong. I liked Majestyk's suggested approach to building our site. They visited our camp, spent a day, and learned what we were about.

How much have you invested with Majestyk?

The cost of Majestyk's work has been around $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We engaged Majestyk in August 2016. The work itself started in the fall, and we're getting close to the launch of the site.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The communication process has been very smooth on both sides, in terms of what we were looking to get out of the engagement and how we could continue it, moving forward and launching the site. Majestyk's team is fast in delivering results, and they're very specific in the documentation given to us. This has made it very easy to work with Majestyk over the last few months. Most of what we've done has been limited to brainstorming, strategizing, and documenting what needs to be done. We've also gone through a number of design sessions to finalize exactly what should be retained and what should be changed. That's another helpful aspect about Majestyk; they never hesitate to get their hands dirty with clients. 

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

We don't use any specific project tracking tools. The communication is done through email, Google Docs, and similar channels.

What did you find most impressive about Majestyk?

Majestyk is on time in terms of deliverables. In order to ensure this, they've done a good job of asking questions, and not simply placating to what we want. I was challenged in certain areas, where my requests were not the best decision from a functionality standpoint.

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

I would've liked to have Majestyk on-site more. We're an hour away from the city, so most of our collaboration was done over the phone and through email. It would be nice to put faces to the work more, but it wasn't a huge deal.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Qude is an in-development iPhone social networking application that will allow people to create and share interesting lists. Ideally, the app should answer questions like "What kind of wine should I buy?" or "What should I watch tonight?" through the posts made by friends who are movie buffs, wine connoisseurs, and so on. It's a fun, good-looking app which grabs information from Spotify, Google, IMDb, and so on, allowing users to make interesting, granular lists.

I am the founder and CEO of the company. I also act as the lead sales and marketing person.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

My co-founder is the CTO of the company, as well as the iOS developer. We have a 3rd partner who is a designer and a complete genius. Unfortunately, he lives in Sweden, which makes collaborating difficult. We designed the app ourselves and began the iOS development. We needed help with backend development, though.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Majestyk was brought in specifically for the backend work. We were happy to limit their scope, allowing Majestyk to concentrate completely on server-side development. We had small-scale and comfortable communication with the two people from Majestyk's team who worked directly with us, including their CTO. We met in person very often in the beginning.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

Our frontend developer and CTO was initially going to handle the backend, but he quickly realized that he was in over his head, and we needed to farm out the server development.

Majestyk initially found us after we'd put up a notice on General Assembly's bulletin board requesting a backend developer. I hand-wrote a card and put it up on their physical board, which is a very 20th-century way of finding work. Majestyk's director of business development called me a week later.

In the week between putting up the sign and receiving the call from Majestyk, I also searched my friend network and ended up interviewing a lone developer as well as a development company. I don't want to talk badly about either of them, but they were nowhere near as attractive as Majestyk.

For me, one of the draws was that Majestyk is located in New York, close to our own location. This was especially attractive given that our designer is based in Sweden. I was interested in the idea of maximum communication via Slack, as well as through in-person meetings. I talked to several companies before hiring Majestyk, but they impressed us during every interview we had, making it a no-brainer to choose the company.

After vetting the other company, I learned that it's important to choose a partner with an actual office and in-house resources. We have to be careful when hiring a partner, but Majestyk hit all the checkmarks. I was initially suspicious of the other two candidates, due to their prices: one was extremely small, while the other was enormous. Majestyk offered a good marriage of many different elements.

How much have you invested with Majestyk?

The cost of Majestyk's services has been between $13,000 and $15,000 and we still retain them for a monthly fee.

What is the status of this engagement?

Startups will always derail deadlines, and I hate creating an arbitrary calendar. I made it clear to Majestyk that we weren't in a rat race. It was potentially a 2-month gig, but there were some elements of the scope which I was willing to leave off. The scope eventually grew, with 2- becoming 5-months. The app itself morphed as we were developing it, mostly due to basic iteration, testing, and drilling down, trying to get the coolest and most cutting-edge designs.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I won't have any illustrated stats until we've completed a working beta. We're pushing a build every week, with much of Majestyk's work being implemented. Everything seems to be working nicely at this point, including API calls. There is a way to search Google Images and Locations, for example. Majestyk's code is clean, from what I can tell.

I wouldn't say that Majestyk has had too great of a creative input in our project, but as the behind-the-scenes worker bee, they have provided a lot of clarity to certain problems that arose.

As an example, with a nearby feed, the "nearby" can be characterized in many different ways. I didn't make this specific in the scope, so rather than doing something wrong like searching for nearby users, Majestyk contacted our CTO and asked about the functionality. Indeed, we needed a way of creating a location attached to the actual list. Majestyk was responsible for clarifying something which was muddy and not very drawn out. In terms of overall app architecture, though, we didn't ask for too much creative input from Majestyk.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

Majestyk's CTO is a refined and honest person who understands that we are a startup. The discussion in our case is different than with a big company, but Majestyk demonstrated a good ability to work with us. Not everyone likes working with startups, given that funds can be tight and changes are made on the fly, as we evolve and develop. I find that if I would’ve have chosen one of the other candidates, there could have been communication problems or other issues.

I personally use Slack, while my CTO uses JIRA for the collaboration with Majestyk. We also use Asana internally. I've stayed pretty far away from the backend work, but I've been involved with Asana, which allows me to monitor the designer and the in-house iOS team.

What did you find most impressive about Majestyk?

It was very impressive that they had the foresight to check the General Assembly board for work. It's a testament to a very fine business development manager. You never know when or where an interesting project can be found, and ours is reasonably so, even though creating a backend server can sound dry. I was looking for a long-term relationship, and Majestyk seemed motivated to work on an iOS social app that can potentially grow. They were open to a host of possibilities for growing together, including a partnership, equity, and so on.

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

I don't have any areas of improvement to note, partially because Majestyk could be commenting on my own improvement. I've thrown many curve balls at them in terms of timing and so on, making it extremely remiss of me to talk about how Majestyk can get better. They've done a terrific job of working with a startup and being prepared for rapid lateral moves and pivots.

TripSafe is a security company aimed at travelers. We offer a portable security system that can be used at home or on the road when staying at hotels or Airbnb, keeping them safe and monitoring the room while they're away. I am a co-founder and the chief executive officer of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We needed help with branding and design. Those are skills we don't really have, which meant we needed to find a partner to handle the work for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Majestyk helped us establish initial branding and marketing materials as our company was in its early stages. Our app is in production, but we're using a different company for it. Majestyk did a great job and had fantastic abilities to execute from start to finish. We have worked with around 3 people from Majestyk's team.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

We found Majestyk through a referral. I met one of their co-founders a couple of years ago. We looked at a couple of other options, but Majestyk was able to work within our budget and timeline. Compared to other agencies, it wasn't much of a decision to choose Majestyk.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Majestyk in 2015. I've become friends with their leadership team, so I stay in close touch with Majestyk.

Majestyk performed great, doing a lot of research on the work. I have nothing but rave reviews.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

We've had a couple of time crunches, with a turnaround time of 1–2 weeks, and Majestyk was able to accelerate its normal creative process in order to accommodate our schedule. The collaboration was maintained through email.

What did you find most impressive about Majestyk?

I appreciated their professionalism and ability to meet deadlines, which isn't very common. If Majestyk promised to finish a task by Tuesday, we could always be confident that we'd see a result by that time.

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

There isn't anything. Majestyk hit every deadline and created an excellent brand for us.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Majestyk?

We've put together an online interactive experience for a client, with a pre-recorded host who guides users through different questions and prompts. Our agency acted as a white label developer within the process.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Majestyk provided guidance on how we could design our platform for mobile phones and tablets, as well as regular PCs, based on our requirements. Majestyk put together all of the different designs and layouts that our developers could then use to build the product.

We ran our projects one at a time. Initially, we didn't anticipate needing Majestyk for mobile designs but made the addition at the last minute.

I know of 2 people from Majestyk's side who worked on designs, but there may have been more behind-the-scenes.

How did you come to work with Majestyk?

I used to work with one of Majestyk's designers in the past and knew that he was involved with a company that offered interactive solutions, web design, and other things of that nature. I reached out to Majestyk in order to see if they would be a good fit. We had been working with one other outsourcing company and called them as well for a quote. The job had a quick turnaround, and I already knew the caliber of work from my contact at Majestyk and how fast he could get stuff done. We decided to choose Majestyk because we needed the work done fast.

How much have you invested with Majestyk?

The total cost of Majestyk's services has been between $10,000 and $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Majestyk in January 2016. The project had a 2-month duration.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Our portal has recently won a 2016 WebAward for Outstanding Website. We launched our portal at an event. It had a medical application and was supposed to be used on an ongoing basis as an unbranded intermediary between the main website and the customer experience, serving as an information portal, showing people what the product was, how it was used, and where they could find a doctor. Because of the affiliation, we've had to use a lot of red tape in terms of language, warnings, and legal associations. All-in-all, we've received very good feedback. The launch was successful, and the platform took off. The user experience is good, allowing people to get their questions answered or be directed to other sources.

How did Majestyk perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Basecamp for our collaboration with Majestyk.

What did you find most impressive about Majestyk?

This may be influenced by my existing relationship with one of Majestyk's designers, but I liked having the ability to give them as much or as little direction as I wanted. Majestyk went with exactly what we said when we knew what we were doing, but when we needed council, they took the driver's seat. It never felt like Majestyk was pushing us in a certain direction when we didn't want that. Using Majestyk was a positive experience for me, and I appreciated their flexibility. Usually, when hiring external shops, we needed to provide a ton of direction and hand-holding. This wasn't the case with Majestyk.

Are there any areas Majestyk could improve?

Our budget and timing were spot-on, if not better. Majestyk exceeded my expectations in terms of planning, execution, and customer service.
