I’m the IT director at an engineering consulting firm. My role involves managing the company network and computing infrastructure and planning and designing our entire IT systems.

M6iT handles all our Microsoft 365 support needs and also provides consulting services. Their tasks include management, desktop, and firewall support. We’ve purchased many services through them, such as our managed antivirus software and our Microsoft Azure account and infrastructures. 

The team has helped us convert our on-premises email system and exchange server to the cloud. They now manage our online hosting through Microsoft Azure. We have a retainer contract where we pay them a flat fee and have a certain number of hours of support time each month from them. After that, they bill us hourly.

They’ve performed very well from a project management standpoint. The team is very organized and takes the lead when necessary to get work done. Their communication is also very good; they have a good system and constantly communicate back and forth. They have a ticketing system through email submission, and they get back to us right away.

I’m impressed with M6iT’s availability and willingness to brainstorm solutions with us.

They're a key partner in our IT migration, and their help has also been key for our needs with our telecom company.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very responsive; we aren't in the same time zone, but when I call them, they call me back within two hours. Also, if there is an issue locally onsite, they can work on it remotely or send a technician onsite quickly.

Regarding tools, we communicate through email, Microsoft Teams, or phone calls, depending on the situation.

They have good knowledge of IT and good ideas when it comes to saving money.

I don't think there's anything they can improve on — this feels like a real partnership, and they're here when I need something.

I’m the president of a small business that offers cloud hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), web hosting, proprietary storage, cloud storage, gaming servers, and security services for websites, certificates, backups, redundancy, and more. Basically, we’re a cloud provider.

What challenge were you trying to address with M6iT?

We had issues with a lot of different things with our network infrastructure, so we needed professional help from the outside. First and foremost, we had issues with our security in the way we were using our firewalls, and we were suffering from network attacks.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We originally hired M6iT to help us get our network security issues under control. Once they solved those issues, I started using them for other projects and tasks related to automation and other IT decisions I had made.

Now, M6iT helps us optimize our security schema related to the work we do with virtual machine allocation and load balancing. They also support our automated processes when we provide services to clients. Whenever a client orders services and the server can’t accommodate those requests, M6iT helps us with a proprietary solution that helps our automation decide the best server to put it on.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with three members of M6iT’s team. One of them is our main point of contact, and he answers our calls and our questions. I’ve also worked with an IT office manager who helped me coordinate the automation and the network. Additionally, I’ve collaborated with the president.

How did you come to work with M6iT?

I found them through a Google search. I was looking for a local company in case we needed them to come over and install hardware for us. I had already reached out to various companies for help before finding M6iT. When I reached out to them, I really liked the way they responded to me. They seemed to be more competent than the other companies.

I’ve spent more than $10,000 so far. Our initial retainer contract cost $8,500, but we outgrew it quickly and started paying them for the additional projects they’ve helped us with.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in February 2022, and our engagement is ongoing. Currently, we’re discussing some business expansion maneuvers I’m really interested in, so our engagement will definitely continue in the future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since M6iT helped us change our automation, we’ve had almost a 20% increase in our productivity across the board. Specifically, we’ve seen an increase in our productivity regarding the time it takes us to get the services to the clients. Before working with them, it took us 30 minutes on average to provide clients with our services, but now, it takes us 10–15 minutes. Moving forward, we’re looking to optimize our times and decrease them until we reach an instant provisioning type of solution.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

I would give M6iT’s project management a very high rating. They’re incredibly organized, and they know what they will do before arriving at our site. For our first onsite project, the person they sent had everything prepared and documented; he knew what he was going to do and the timeframe he had to complete the task. Still, whenever issues arise that they aren’t prepared for, they adjust very quickly, and they’re very responsive to our calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

M6iT’s personal touch is outstanding. I’ve worked directly with their president, and he’s very personable. Other company presidents usually care about the money and hire people to do the work for them, but M6iT’s president is very knowledgeable, and he always knows what he’s doing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything M6iT could improve on.

If you have previous experience working with other IT companies, I can tell you that M6iT is very different. They offer a personal touch that you might find beneficial for your company.

Wunderkind is a company that currently has 750 employees spread across three offices. Most of our people are working remotely in the US and in Europe. We’re an Agency that uses its own software to service customers within the e-commerce and publishing industries. I’m one of the co-founders and I have been with the company for almost 11 years.

We recently had to let go of a lot of people because of COVID-19, so our IT department is now only down to two people. The shift towards working remotely also presented a big challenge. With more of our customers moving towards e-commerce, however, our company slowly began to regain footing. We turned to M6iT to help us cope with the shift.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

M6iT is helping us with three main things:

1. IT support - they are in charge of resolving tickets that our remote staff creates when they encounter issues or need access to certain servers or devices.
2. Automation - M6iT helps us leverage cloud technology to automate the onboarding procedure. They also structure a system where all of the people from our company could access cloud-based software and tools such as G Suite.
3. Provision of work units - the third thing their team helps us with is the process of issuing laptops and equipment to new hires and employees. They make sure that the units are working properly prior to being shipped out to the user. The installation of antivirus software and different office tools are also part of their responsibilities. 

Apart from those, the M6iT team also helps us with vendor management. This entails getting better prices for software, negotiating discounts for bulk purchases, and liquidating old equipment. We’ve recently asked for their assistance in setting up a new WiFi network in our newest office as well. 

There is at least one M6iT employee working in our office every day, training our internal team and helping with the interview process. They also offer remote support services from their own offices.

Our main point of contact from M6iT is Jacob (Managed Services Specialist). The number of people we work with depends on the volume of tickets that we receive and how many new hires we have in one wave. On average, however, there are about five members who help on-site and three who support us remotely.

M6iT was referred to me. I chose to work with them because their mindset aligned with what I wanted to do in our company.  They were also very well priced compared to other vendors.

Overall, we’re highly satisfied with the support that M6iT provides us. We’re able to resolve tickets at a good pace. Our post-ticket-resolution survey reveals that they’re doing well so far. I have begun recommending them to some companies because their service is so good.

We use Atlassian and Jira’s service desk and communicate via email or phone. Jacob is always very quick to respond and follow up. He represents our company well when negotiating with external lenders, and it’s as if he is really a part of our organization.

The best part about working with M6iT is that they genuinely care about their work. They do their best at whatever we hand to them, whether it be an unresolved ticket or a project. The team really likes to do the work themselves even though they’re contractors.

My advice is to allow M6iT to do their job. Don’t restrain them to your mindset. Their team will bring in solid expertise and a lot of experience that could help you and your business, so I suggest that you keep your mind open to their ways of doing work.

I wanted to upgrade and migrate the company’s email system from our current provider. Our web domain was with GoDaddy, but a third-party was managing our email system. My inbox was filling up very quickly. Additionally, a lot of my emails weren’t being received by the intended parties, or they were going to junk. 

The migration was also prompted by the pandemic; I needed to set up my staff to work remotely.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

M6iT migrated our email to Office365. They bought equipment for our office and trained me on how to use Microsoft Teams.

I’ve worked with 3–4 people from M6iT, including the owner of the company, who was heavily involved.

How did you come to work with M6iT?

I was referred to them by my CPA, who’d hired them to switch over from the same email company I was using. He told me that M6iT was very accessible, and their services were great.

M6iT’s owner was kind enough to come to our office and see our setup and what our needs were. I had a big conference room table, so we were able to have a socially distanced meeting. He gave me a few options and didn’t push me into a sale. That was especially nice during these pandemic times, when everyone’s trying to get business to stay afloat.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The migration M6iT did for me and my colleagues was seamless. I previously used WhatsApp to schedule meetings. Now that I’m using Office365, I can set up meetings with multiple people without even having to send text messages. Microsoft Teams is much more efficient than having WhatsApp or Skype video calls. I can also set up international meetings through Teams.

I have more space in my inbox now, and I’m working more efficiently. Before, I continuously had to go into my inbox and delete all of my old emails.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

Even since they completed the migration, their support team has been extremely responsive to any issues I have. I just submit a ticket, and they send an automatic ticket response confirming receipt. Then, someone gets on the phone with me. Working with them has been a seamless process.

Their service and response times have been very good for me. For instance, I’ve been traveling with my MacBook, and I reached out to them just yesterday to help me set up a desktop PC. We had a Teams meeting and spoke for about 30 minutes.

When they migrated everything, my contacts and calendars weren’t syncing. M6iT gave me a ticket number, and one of their support staff remotely connected to my computer and fixed the issue. I also had an issue that required one of their team members to come to my office. They arrived on time, and they did the job within the estimated time. 

My business is also built on customer service, so when I see that from someone else, it goes to show that my time is important to them. That’s valuable to me.

Their service, speed of response, and competitive pricing set them apart. M6iT is competitively priced, and their service has been beyond exceptional.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m fairly new to them. I’ve only been a customer for approaching six months. I don’t see anything for them to improve right now, but I’m sure there will be something down the line.

M6iT responds very well when they know what the client’s needs are. I didn’t know what my needs were, so they shared some options with me. It’s also important to have a budget in mind.

Whenever we have a need from our back-of-house office, we can always get ahold of their support team immediately. Even for non-urgent matters, they typically email us back within an hour. We’re never troubled by our IT needs during the workday. They’re a very productive team.  

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project involving making WiFI available to tenants was urgent, and they were able to meet us with a very quick turnaround time. Residents experienced less than a week of downtime in total. Jacob had his team on the problem almost immediately after we signed the proposal, which was a relief. We communicated through a ticketing system and email. When tickets are closed, they always reach out to let us know if there are outstanding issues. Their system is flawless.

Their honesty was important. It was clear that they wanted what was best for our company throughout the project.
