I’m the executive managing partner at BHLG. The company was founded in 2013, and it’s an immigration boutique covering around 170 countries in the world. 

The bulk of what we do is between the US and Canada, handling corporate immigration matters rather than personal. Our clients are Fortune 100 and 500 companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with M6iT?

M6iT has been our outsourced IT provider since the start of our company. We decided to outsource the IT function because having someone in-house would’ve been too expensive and not necessarily required at that point in time. 

Now,M6iT is our go-to resource for all our IT support, installations, and deployments.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Firstly, M6iT handles all our basic IT support. They remote into our employees’ computers to troubleshoot and fix basic issues such as a printer not connecting to a computer. They also handle all our Microsoft 365 management. They hold the licenses, and they installed all these solutions back in the day.

When we started the company, we weren’t necessarily equipped with all the right tools, so M6iT made an assessment of our solutions and came up with some recommendations. The first was to switch everything to Microsoft Exchange, which we did.

At the same time, we got an audit from a client in the finance and banking industry. Some recommendations were made in terms of IT solutions, making sure our system was bulletproof in terms of privacy. Again, M6iT conducted an internal audit on our existing solutions, and they made a few recommendations. One of those was to switch everything to an on-site server, which they built and installed. 

They’ve also handled system migrations, testing, and other maintenance services. We recently decided to move from that server to the cloud, another migration they oversaw.

I work directly with Jacob (Co-Founder & President). for all high-level discussions about designing and implementing solutions.

He’s also sent a couple of IT specialists on-site for the server migrations. 

How did you come to work with M6iT?

I met with Jason and found him to be a very bright and knowledgeable individual. He gave me the impression of knowing everything about servers, IT support, and privacy, and I could see that he has a lot of experience with other clients, which we benefited from.

We felt that we were dealing with the right individual.

We started working with M6iT in February 2013, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

There are a few metrics, the most important one being downtime. We haven’t experienced any significant downtime with them, which is really important for us. 

The second is the responsiveness of their team when we have an issue. We’ve never had to wait to get someone on the phone or to get someone involved immediately in resolving an issue. They have a good level of responsiveness during the weekday, but also after hours, with an emergency hotline even over the weekend, by email and phone.

In terms of skills, M6iT has always been able to find a solution when we have an issue. They’re very knowledgeable, and they can get to the root of a problem as soon as possible. We haven’t yet had an issue that they weren’t able to identify quickly and resolve. The breadth of knowledge they have is up to standard for enabling us to operate safely with our IT infrastructure.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve worked with them on two important projects, the initial audit and the cloud migration. I interacted directly with Jacob for both projects, and one of the first things that struck us was his ability to come down with a list of things that had to be done. 

He’s a very organized and meticulous individual. He set up internal steps with specific deadlines. He always had the ability to come down to our level and explain everything we needed to have explained very easily. He broke it down, worked with his team, and met every single deadline. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re true experts. As a true expert, M6iT is responsive to their client, they have to have the breadth of expertise to answer all their questions, and they need to ace project management. 

Especially when it comes to IT, there are so many moving parts, with different users connecting to a platform. Only a true expert can deliver on all those things.

Are there any areas they could improve?

This is a very tough question because we’ve obviously very happy with M6iT. If anything, we sometimes find it difficult to understand IT technicians, but that’s because we’re in a different industry. This isn’t something that’s had an impact in our relationship with M6iT, but, if there was one thing on the wishlist, the ability to explain IT in a simpler way is sometimes a good thing to have. 

I think it’s an industry-related problem, and if I had to give them a grade, I’d put M6iT on the higher end of the bracket compared to their competition, where, at some point in time, it really becomes an issue that we don’t understand what they’re saying.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

They should follow the same protocol and process that we did, which is to have a conversation with Jacob and follow his lead. He’s a true expert, and he should be allowed to map out the entire process. I think that clients will be really impressed with the execution and delivery model.

I’m the owner, partner, and casting director at Stewart/Whitley. We cast Broadway plays and musicals throughout shows in North America and London. But we’re primarily a theater casting office, although we do work with some film and TV casting as well.

We were with another IT provider for many years. My job is to cast Broadway shows, so I’m a creative person. With the previous IT person, I just never understood what the plan was or the problems or how everything is put together.

When Jacob (Owner) first came to the office to meet with my business partner and myself, he asked us very astute questions. He listened to our business needs and what we felt our shortcomings were with the previous firm. He said that he would come back with a plan that would be tailored to our office.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team at M6iT provides managed services to our business. When we first started with them, they wrote all of their services down in a dossier for us to look over. That included everything from building a brand new server, putting information in the cloud, and assisting with our phones. Jacob also made sure there was an added security to everything.

We had a staff of eight in our office, so their team put together all we needed with their email addresses and computer licenses. They also suggested ideas for lowering costs with our phone company.

In our office, we had a physical server that was very outdated. Jacob came in to clean all of that up. He then explained to us that with all of the data we had that could be transferred to the cloud. We had a lot of videos and auditions on record. I was nervous that everything was going to crash in the middle, but it ended up being a seamless experience.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After signing on with M6iT, we’ve never looked back. Jacob set everything up, walking us through all of it. The interface is extremely easy to use.

The greatest thing about Jacob is his communication skills. He’s a great communicator, which to this creative individual, means a lot. I need to cast musicals and plays, so I don’t have all the time in the world to figure out what this means. Their team also brought in excellent expertise and skill.

Jacob explains everything to me succinctly, and it’s just been a smooth relationship. If we ever had a fire, it was always like they were there 24/7. There were always people online to message us and let us into the program. They were great with all of the technical aspects and issues when they occurred, which was rare.

During COVID-19, Broadway was devastated. We had to furlough staff, and I was in a crisis mode. Jacob and his team stepped up to the plate. I really felt like they were a colleague in arms, and they truly helped us get through our industry.

Goodwill during this time goes miles. They’ve gone above and beyond to provide us with solutions we need during this time. We’re all working remotely, but wouldn’t be able to without their keen expertise and guidance. They’ve gone way beyond the original proposal.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

Throughout the engagement, they’ve been very hands-on, despite a majority of the work being remote. They were so quick with meeting deadlines. I’d say a problem, and they’ll jump right into it. Sometimes I wish they wouldn’t be so quick.

They’ll ask if I’m at my desk, and I’ll have to say they need to wait because I’m about to go into hours of auditions. I felt like they were chasing me as opposed to me chasing them, which is good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team at M6iT is trustworthy and timely. They go above and beyond. I sent out over 800 emails yesterday to people, singing their praises.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Before, we had people come in and say all of these things that sounded impressive and fast. I never knew half of what they were saying. Jacob was able to break everything down for our office.

There’s nothing that I can say that’s bad. We were in great hands from the beginning.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make a list of your demands and company needs. M6iT will listen to all of it and give back creative solutions that will be adapted to what you need. Come to them with your wishlist, and they’ll sort it out.

I’m currently the finance director of JAM 26 Hotels. The vendor has been working with us since the opening of the hotel in 2015. In September of 2019, the hotel went through a change of ownership, and the name was changed to The Tillary Hotel, which is owned by JAM 26 Hotels.

As the organization went through changes, there were some challenges with our firewalls and IT security levels. We had challenges with maintaining our bandwidth, WIFI, and servers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They offer IT services for our organization. This includes consulting on software, computers, and laptops. They have a monthly process to keep all of our IT systems up-to-date. If anything additional is needed, we’ll call them from time-to-time.

For example, during our last project, we needed 15 laptops with our updated software on them. They completed the laptops one-by-one within 3–4 days.

I usually call Jacob (Owner). But, I also work with two other of their employees from time-to-time.

How did you come to work with M6iT?

They’ve been working with the organization for the past five years. When I came along, I compared their services with other IT companies. Price-wise, they were a good value based on the services they provided. I also did some background checks on them. There were a few other clients using them, and I got good references about their services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Whenever there’s an upgrade, they’re very hands-on and keep us up to date. They don’t advise us on anything that’s crazy or high-priced. 

Whenever I need advice, Jacob gathers external documents, not through his company, to show why technology is best-fitted for us. I have another IT friend, and they always say that M6iT offers great prices for their services.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

On a scale of 1–10, I would rate them an 8. They are excellent; nothing has gone wrong throughout our relationship. Whenever there is an IT issue, they’re very diligent and responsive. For example, when our WIFI was down and revenue was at stake, they brought us back on our feet within six hours (this involved implementing a new server).

What did you find most impressive about them?

In our industry, we have to be very diligent in attending to our guest’s needs. In return, M5iT’s responses are immediate. Looking at their success rate, I would definitely recommend them to other hotels, and I’ve done so already.

I don’t think there’s anything they could improve.

Potential customers should definitely go ahead with them — they’re a great company to work with.

I’m the assistant office manager at Foresight Theatrical, a general management company. A lot of the shows that are on Broadway, our company handles all of the business backend things. We hire company managers to manage the shows and handle the labor unions, as well as everything that comes along with running a show.

Our company has been in this office building for almost 20 years and hadn’t worked with a true IT company before. The whole IT infrastructure was really outdated, wasn’t secure, and was causing a lot of network outages.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They reworked the whole infrastructure, setting up a new network for all of our computers. They redid our server and remounted and ran the wiring through the entire office. They’ve updated the Wi-Fi access points and things of that nature. They’ve also done a server migration into Microsoft 365 and updated all of the computer hardware in our office.

Because we’re somewhat of a unique company and work on a theater schedule, there is always someone doing work. M6iT’s ability to do something huge like a server migration without there being a massive service interruption or any issues is a big success for us.

Working with them has been great. They’re really responsive. Because it’s a bit of a smaller team I’ve been working with, it feels like a personalized experience; I know them by name. They’re quick to resolve something through a remote session or come on-site to troubleshoot that way, if necessary. 

They’ve been really great about managing the project. Usually, they’ll set a timeline and let us know the markers they plan to hit to stay on schedule. It’s easier for me that way because I’ll take that information and work within the company to make sure we’re in the right place.

Their transparency is something I applaud them for. There is never a moment in which I don’t understand what’s happening or feel out of the loop. They are great at identifying an issue, explaining what needs to be done to solve it, and giving us the options of how to handle it.

This is true of my experience with IT companies, in general, is that they’re quick to respond to the first thing you mention rather than waiting for the whole story to unfold.

I've thought about this and don't really have anything that needs to be improved upon. They're quick to respond, happy to help, and are incredibly patient.

It’s difficult to give a full scope of work, because they handled so many technical tasks, all from a remote environment. M6iT developed our reservation system, our accounting interface, and our sales system. They also configured our various protocols for receiving calls and housekeeping. They set up our internet and IP address, connected to our home offices all the way in Atlanta.

Thanks to their support, we were able to open a hotel on time, with all its technical processes figured out. They executed a wide scope of work well. What was the scope of their involvement?

M6iT created a system in SharePoint, which we were all using. As employees started to shift to working remotely, the team did a thorough analysis and recommended Dropbox. They’ve handled all elements of the migration to Dropbox remotely, including getting all of our remote employees set up on it. We’re almost done moving all of our files over.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The work we do can change in real time, so if everything isn’t 100% accurate, it can really throw us off. The system M6iT put in place ensures that we never have those types of problems anymore. The team made it really easy to work with, and they started us up on it in a way that was both cost-effective and accessible.

The ease and speed with which the new system was implemented was fantastic. The team has provided excellent support to anyone who needs it, and it’s changed the way we all work. Now, none of my employees have to waste time dialing in by VPN. It’s improved our ability to check in with and update clients more quickly and saved us all a huge amount of time.

I am the director of business operations for a booking group. What we do is take Broadway shows and put them on national tours by helping to book, produce, and manage the shows.

We moved offices a couple of years ago when we joined those three different agencies into one building sharing the same IT infrastructure. Their team helped to develop and execute the plan for our new network system that allowed those three agencies to exist together.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Throughout the entire planning phase, they came and contributed to our weekly meetings with architects, builders, people for cabling, and even the alarm system. The team did a lot to support the move, all with the goal of implementing a new server and entire IT infrastructure that worked with the design of the building and didn’t have to be designed around it.

It really isn’t our industry at all, so after they sent us a proposal and we reviewed what we needed and what we didn’t, they did everything they needed to make sure that we were going to be successful. Even after the actual build process, they helped us move all of our equipment, including personal computers, into the new space and installed everything over the weekend once they got there.

The plans for the move started around October 2016 and wrapped up in July 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The impact of not having to worry about the success of the move for our company was an unbelievable relief. They were present and involved in every single step and gave us complete confidence that they were taking care of every potential issue we might have faced.

On top of all of that, there were no issues with the infrastructure itself either. We had no hiccups during setup, and once we moved in, everything worked the way that it needed to from the start. Three years down the line, we still haven’t had any issues with any of the work that they did.

How did M6iT perform from a project management standpoint?

We really handed them the reins on project management and gave them our basic deadlines that needed to be met. From there, they were incredibly sensitive in planning their work to meet those needs, and made sure that they arrived to things early, had everything they needed to do the work, and made sure we knew what we needed to continue our work seamlessly as well.

Their team also worked with other vendors to bring them in for help where it was needed so that we didn’t have to be managing a lot of different relationships at once. They would find us three vendors and have proposals sent to us so that we could choose from them, and it just took so much weight off of us throughout the entire process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team participated in discussions that weren’t even as strictly related to them just so that they would fully understand how the building was going to be laid out so that they could best do their part of the job in turn. The IT system that we have now is woven through the structure of the building rather than patched on top of it because it was a full part of the process.

It was an amazing experience for us to be a part of just by having comfort in the knowledge that they were on top of everything. They consistently went above and beyond the scope of their work to make sure that we were getting the best deals in each area of the service we were setting up. The level of service they provide really makes you feel like you are their only client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Of course, nobody’s perfect, but in working with them there really are so many pros that you almost don’t even notice any cons. Even one thing I thought was an issue, on a day where they took 30 minutes to respond to a message instead of their usual 10 or 20, I had to step back and realize was just me being used to their incredible service and not an actual deficiency.

Just be clear about what you want and what you expect from them from the beginning. Once you’ve done that, allow them to do their job without constantly interfering, and things will go smoothly. If allowed to do it their way, they’re going to get it done.

Employee productivity increased as AI and cloud solutions automated routine tasks, reduced manual work, and improved collaboration, leading to faster decisions and greater operational efficiency. Our employees used the Copilot agent to quickly find their results and complete their tasks faster, which usually would take longer, especially for beginners. I would say we saved 30%–40% of the time on productivity.

They were very focused and genuinely cared, which I found surprising.

What did you find most impressive about them?
