The main task was to release a working product as soon as possible. The Lomray team was able to complete the task in three months, including the discovery phase, design phase, development, testing, and release of the application. They used the cross-platform framework React Native, which allowed us to reduce development time significantly.

• Yes, we received a fully working application in 3 months, for both iOS and Android platforms.

At the end of each day, the team wrote their results for the day and plans for the next day in Slack. I also had the option to join their daily meetings if I wanted to. In addition, they held a demo every week where I could give my feedback, and we could discuss any issues. The project manager was always in touch with me. I also had access to the Jira Board, where I could see the current status of all tasks at any time.

We wanted to develop a mobile app for our current users, the challenge was to integrate with our backend and follow our design. The main goal was speed, Lomray successfully developed the mobile and worked perfect in the timeline given.

We searched for both full time and agencies to build a this app, we decided to go with an agency that was experience and fully staffed to lead this project to the end. Another factor was their history of projects aligned with our requirements.

We had a series of discovery calls to understand our relationship with our development team, we then shared designs and about 2 weeks later we already had a working product with no backend. Our backend team provided the endpoints and explained we needed to use location services. About 2 weeks later we had a full working app before we started testing. Apps are not published on both iOS and Android

We worked with a 4 members, a Project manager, CEO, 2 React native developers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are still in the beta testing feature rolling it out to specific users, but within 5 weeks we had a fully functioning mobile app and with zero bugs in two platforms. We expect to onboard over 1300 users in the next 30 days.

They followed a simple methodology, Slack for communications and Trello for project management. We also used googles sheets for time management.

Their willingness to work with our requirements and recommend improvements was great. It shows they care more about their end product.

I believe I would recommend to just stay on course with their current service, maybe introduce Jira since its the standard in the industry and adopt a 2 week sprint.

I am one of the co-owners of Listing Plus LLC. We’re a small tech firm that develops tools and websites for the film, TV, and stunt industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lomray Software?

Our flagship website was built five years ago, and we were putting band-aids on top of band-aids to get the site to function the way we wanted it to. The site is for stunt performers in the TV and film industry, so as stunt performers, we’re also our own customers, so we wanted to rebuild the site's architecture completely. 

We had engaged a few agencies and freelance programmers to help us, and they delivered a product that was only 40–50% finished. We weren’t pleased with how they were handling the project, so we needed to look for another agency to do the work.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lomray Software has helped us develop version three of our flagship site. Our previous development partners developed a half-finished site and had broken a lot of our initial code, and the builds didn’t work. Lomray Software’s first job was to rip out the code and start again with the skeleton we’d initially developed. 

They took the existing framework and redesigned and rebuilt the website’s code using React on Next.js for the frontend. The backend is an express server with a MySQL database with a GraphQL interface layer for the API.

We are still in the final testing phase, but the site is set to launch within the next two months.

We work with three team members at Lomray Software, including Uliana (Project Manager), Igor, and Bogdan (Developers).

One of my business partners identified a few agencies for us to interview. We interviewed 3–4 agencies before moving forward with Lomray Software.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested about $40,000 in the partnership with Lomray Software. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Lomray Software in April 2022, and the partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

It’s hard to share feedback because we’re still in the end stages of the project, which includes testing and working towards the product launch. However, I’m a programmer, and I built the second version of the site, so I’m familiar with the code and functionality of the site. 

The site from Lomray Software has more functions, looks better, and responds more quickly than the old site. The old site was on its last legs, and we couldn’t add to it without slowing down the speed. This new site is much faster and has more extensible functionality, and the code will allow us to expand features in the future.

We spent at least $40,000–$50,000 before finding Lomray Software, and I wish we had found them earlier. They’ve also covered many edge cases and other little things we didn’t handle when building a site ourselves. They’ve been very thorough.  

How did Lomray Software perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve performed pretty well when it comes to project management. Our team is not the easiest to work with because we built the latest version of the site, and we’re very involved in the management process. We’ve had a strong hand in determining when tasks should be completed and tracking progress.

Diana took the time to understand our project and gather the necessary resources and teammates to fulfill our requirements. We meet for 10–15 minutes daily via Google Meet, and Uliana helps keep everything organized and on track. She ensures nothing falls off our Trello board, which we use to list activities. We also use Asana and Slack to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been most impressed with the flexibility that Lomray Software has extended us. They work with us in the way we need them to, and they've just worked diligently to finish our project according to our standards. 

Early on, we felt we needed to increase our meeting cadence, and they agreed to have daily meetings without any problem. We had a minor issue with the payment method they offered, and they figured out how to accommodate us. We met to discuss communication tools, and they adapted their team to use our preferred tools. 

Based on the code I’ve seen, Lomray Software is very capable from a development standpoint. Our team is very nitpicky with how things are supposed to work and exactly how the functions feel and perform behind the scenes. The site features all do precisely what they’re supposed to do. Lomray Software’s been very good at understanding our specific requirements and adjustments and catering to them. They’ve been great partners.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It’s hard to say what they could improve because, in theory, they could’ve been faster and cheaper and understood our needs better. However, I’m not sure they could’ve performed as well if they’d been more affordable, and we’re delighted with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you want to work with an agency, Lomray Software should be your first choice. They’re a top-notch development partner, especially if your project budget is below $150,000.

They do their best for your project. Feel like you are not just a customer, they perceive the project as their own. Mikhail made an amazing architectural solution. And Uliana is always available for any questions we may have. And I was amazed by the level of developers. As Mikhail said, solid code is a must for all team members.

The goal was to create a new corporate website with new functionality and with English and Russian languages support. Integration with Sendgrid API, Amo CRM API, with a service that provides charts for content pages, as well as the main page. Create an admin panel with the ability to fill content in Russian and English languages. Install SSL certificate. Add the ability to write meta tags in the admin panel on each page.

Communication is a very important point that Lomray pay attention to. It started from a request on their site. Business Developer Alexandra connected with me shortly. Lomray was the only company that quickly responded to my request and immediately began to offer solutions. I was amazed of willingness to jump to the meeting shortly, answer all questions and help to find the best solution for the project.

Also, I would like to note the efficiency in resolving issues, fast start and transparency. Everything is scheduled, everything is specified, you can see everything in the task manager. And last but not the least, a weekly demo let us see the development progress.

During this time, it was connected to the hosting using the AWS service, the AWS certificate was installed, and the admin panel was created based on the Strapi framework. App was approved by App Store only few days ago, so, I cannot provide any such information. Yet, for the time being, all FFF that I addressed to analyze the app, had praised me for the product. It seems like good, very intuitive, and wonderfully designed product.

Actually, I can sum my feedback regarding the PM in a very short sentences: she is an extremely pro. Most of the time the communication was via WhatsApp. From the moment I Pinged her any by the moment I was responded, past not more than few seconds - EVEN DURING WEEKENDs. wowowow - no other words to say! the best combination that should be.
