The project consists of the form, where requestors have to fill in mandatory and optional information, attach supporting documentation. Based on several criterias the approval process is launched and all relevant people are notified via e-mails.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Currently the MVP is ready, which fulfills all the necessary business requirements. We will continue with the provider on the 2nd phase of tool development for fine-tunning and UX improvements.

We set milestones on front-end capabilities as well as backend, and the milestones were consistently delivered on time.  We were able to see FE designs, then see them come to life in a platform, and then test them in real-time once the backed tech was in place.

The team laid out a plan, set timeline expectations and delivered time and again. If there was ever a delay, it was communicated at least a week in advance and valid reasons were provided. Communication was always prompt from all parts of the team. This team is not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Point is they can build what you need at a fair rate

The full service. We had someone help with specing the stories for the dev team, a full design team that designed the full product, FE and BE developers, QA and a lead dev who has practically become part of our team. They all worked very well together and focused on getting the results we were looking for and delivering reports etc in a style that works for us.

I don't think I can pinpoint anything about the Limestone team. Most issues arose from a lack of focus from our team or a change in priorities. The Limestone team did a very good job at keeping us on track and updating the roadmap when we needed to make changes etc

Initially, Limestone Digital conducted an assessment of our requirements and came back with a staffing proposal to augment our team. Then, the team designed and built our platform in an iterative way. Limestone Digital developed a portal that interfaced with NetSuite and HubSpot and built custom applications that allowed us to import custom elements into NetSuite. 

The team also used PHP, Python, and JavaScript and was responsible for launching our platform. Limestone Digital was responsible for recruiting and hiring developers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Limestone Digital solved our staffing needs since we no longer needed to look for outsourced developers. We used to spend a lot of time on recruitment. Thanks to the integration with NetSuite, the team helped us improve our internal operating processes. The team also introduced us to new technology we didn't know existed, which was a significant lift for our company. We couldn't have accomplished this project without Limestone Digital, who exceeded our expectations.

How did Limestone Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated great with Limestone Digital via Microsoft Teams. Our project went over time and over budget at times, but that was due to our team since we changed specifications. Limestone Digital met deadlines and collaborated with us via Jira and SharePoint.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Limestone Digital allowed our company to do AI and software development without losing our assets. The team demystified the process and helped us accomplish what big development companies do without having an internal structure.

We were building a new react front-end to handle the labeling of our custom AI models on Azure Cognitive Services. This is based off the open source labeling tool that Microsoft themselves put out but we needed additional functionality. The key deliverables were to update the open source code to call our API instead of the prebuilt one that had limited functionality. 

The system needed to maintain a hierarchy of pages for a document, allow the user to upload/delete example files, manage a list of fields per document and for each of the uploaded files, label the document based on the fields.

Limestone Digital’s developer is very diligent and hardworking. They understand our requirements and joined when the project had already started, and they’ve adapted greatly to develop the required features.

How did Limestone Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

Limestone Digital meets deadlines and stays on budget. They work under the Scrum methodology. We have close communication through Slack, and Limestone Digital is responsive. We also talk through Zoom and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m most impressed with Limestone Digital’s project management, communication, and flexibility. We work in different time zones with a 7–8 hours difference, and meeting schedules is complicated. However, Limestone Digital is flexible and responsive. If we have a tight deadline, they’re flexible with their time, and we are as well. We make it work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is always room for improvement, and Limestone Digital could keep more updated about the technologies we use. However, they’ve progressed throughout the time we’ve been working together.

I recommend creating internal tests to define if the candidates proposed by Limestone Digital meet your project’s requirements. Limestone Digital has a diligent process to propose candidates, and we conduct additional tests to make sure they have the technical knowledge we need.

They have fantastic pricing for what they offer, and we’ve had easygoing communications. Their resources have no big egos — working with them has been lovely. The project manager handles everything, including communication. To communicate, we mainly use texts.

Limestone Digital’s communication skills are impressive. Moreover, I’ve worked with various teams in this industry; they’re usually horrible. By contrast, the Limestone Digital team is amazing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Limestone Digital has provided us with staff augmentation services. We typically contact the team with job descriptions when we require additional software development support. The most prominent skill set we look for is .NET developers.

Then, they identify developer candidates and go through a pre-screening process to validate the candidate’s skills before sending their resumes to us for review. They also provide candidates with our coding test to ensure they have the appropriate skill sets before we interview them. 

Once they’ve pre-screen the candidates and reviewed their test results, they send us the details, and we set up interviews, which they also join. Our partnership allows us to contract developers through Limestone Digital, so rather than hiring them full-time, the developers work on our projects through the Limestone Digital team.

Currently, we have three developers working for us through Limestone Digital. However, we also work with 5–6 other team members who manage the developers.

Limestone Digital has identified suitable candidates for our needs who’ve quickly integrated into our company. We measure success by how effectively the team completes the required tasks within our desired timeframes, which they do.

How did Limestone Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

The Limestone Digital team has met deadlines and operated within our budget. They’re great communicators, and we’re happy with the partnership. We haven’t had to work through any issues with them so far. 

Their pay structure is very transparent, which has been great. We typically pay per development hour, so we clearly understand the monthly budget based on the number of developers. 

We use a customized system to manage the project and GitHub for sourcing. We use TeamViewer for meetings and email to communicate.

Limestone Digital follows through on their promises, and they’re a very communicative team, which we appreciate.

I haven’t noticed anything Limestone Digital could improve on yet.

As with any development project, I’d advise going into the partnership knowing exactly what you want from them. Create a detailed outline of your development needs and skill sets, so the Limestone Digital team can find candidates who meet your requirements.
