League \ Design Agency provides UI/UX and branding design services for a website. After a discovery process, League \ Design Agency created a design that was used for online and print materials.
League \ Design Agency has a sharp sense of design and worked diligently throughout the engagement. Customers are very impressed with the new design and website. Their communication is very convenient and they adapt to different time zones. The work is professional and comes at a great value.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
My company is a b2b marketplace designed primarily to connect dental specialists with free clinical days to practices that want to bring specialty services in house. I am the director of business development and product development at my company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
Brand guide, UX/UI design for desktop and mobile website.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to establish our brand as something unique, thoughtful, progressive, and designed with the intention to convey that we have really thought about the service we are delivering. League really helped us communicate that.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We searched and interviewed dozens of design firms globally. We happened to find League through Upwork.
Describe the project in detail.
Once we selected League Design Agency, we went through a deep dive into brand discovery until we eventually honed in on a brand guide. We then used that guide to inform everything we are working on - convention collateral, stationary, website, and all the details like invoice design, powerpoint template, and more. It really helped us put a professional edge on everything we do.
What was the team composition?
We had a main account manager communicate and guide us all along the way but we could feel that there was an entire team thoughtfully crafting every layer of this experience.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We really enjoyed working with League Design Agency. They have a keen sense for design and were very methodical and diligent in building this process out for us to get to our desired goal. It's always difficult doing custom work but they were not only very process oriented and creative but also very accommodating with edits which was important for us. Our clients are very impressed with our brand design and site.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was very convenient. Even though we were in different time zones League made sure to stay at work a little later to catch me in pacific time zone for regular catch up Skype meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was very impressed with the quality of work we received. League is truly professional but I think we got everything done at a great price.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not that I can think of.

League \ Design Agency has helped design the UI/UX of Android and iOS concierge apps. They've created wireframes and layouts for user-facing screens and admin panels.
League \ Design Agency has produced elegant, functional designs that perfectly fulfilled the project's goals. They respond to issues quickly, uphold high-quality standards, and integrate seamlessly with the internal team.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm a UX strategist at a mobile app development company based in the United Kingdom. We specialise in mobile strategy, design, development, and marketing, focusing on psychology and user behavior. I keep the focus on UX throughout product development.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
Our company hired League \ Design Agency to collaborate with us on the UX/UI design of native mobile apps for iOS and Android. Using these apps, residents can simplify communication between themselves and their concierge.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal is a sleek, modern mobile app design that communicates the brand while staying true to the product's essence.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We browsed Behance and Dribbble, found their portfolio, and reached out to them.
Describe the project in detail.
After we finalized the product requirements, we organized a kickoff meeting with League \ Design Agency. We discussed the project, our process, and the various deliverables. They gave us estimates to verify that we were on the same page about the project scope, then began work.
The design phase typically followed our internal process. This entailed wireframe designs for the native apps and a web-based admin portal, a UI concept and kit for the native apps, and a full-screen UI design performed on a sprint-by-sprint basis.
We discussed the revisions, and they provided the deliverables. In general, our team would them feedback, but our development team would often discuss solutions with them, too. It's been a cross-disciplinary, collaborative experience. While we've wrapped up most of the design work, they're still supporting our endeavors.
What was the team composition?
We've worked with two different project managers because of a handover halfway through the project. We communicate with them regularly and give them feedback on design deliverables. They communicate with the designer assigned to the project.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Most of the design work has wrapped up within the past month, but the project is ongoing.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The collaboration has been excellent. Most of our communication takes place over Slack, with occasional video calls to discuss more complex matters. After providing feedback, we see updates in a timely manner. If we have any inquiries, they're usually prompt to respond.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their work meets the highest standards of quality, leaving little to be desired. Their designs are beautiful and functional. They met our project goals, and our team and client received them well. Their professionalism, responsive communication, and prompt delivery are consistent.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We've experienced few issues during the project. The issues we have experienced came down to miscommunication, and we've resolved them quickly and collaboratively. There are always areas for improvement, but the process has been smooth and relatively painless.

After participating in kick-off meetings to establish common goals and a shared plan, League \ Design built a mobile application. They started by working on the UX and then created the system’s UI.
The app currently has over 500 users, many of whom find it intuitive. League \ Design instituted an effortless collaboration using a management tool, which also allowed them to provide answers to all questions. Customers can expect deliverables that far surpass their baseline requirements.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CEO of Pix Incorporation, which specializes in manufacturing smart-LED accessories. Currently, our main product is a customizable backpack with a built-in LED screen that’s controlled by an app.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
We needed someone to develop the app that customers use to control the LED screen.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted and needed a modern app that would both satisfy our target audience and be able to handle our product’s many features. Above all, the app had to be easy to use and simply structured.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We reached out to League \ Design Agency after numerous recommendations and quickly realized that they were results-oriented and interested in accomplishing the project in the best way possible. Compared to other vendors, they showed themselves as high-qualified specialists who understood the deepest concerns of the client.
Describe the project in detail.
First, we had a few meetings with the League \ Design team where we discussed everything we had in mind and provided them with all the information they needed. Afterward, we presented the initial concepts and decided in which direction we wanted to move first. League \ Design developed and finalized the UX and then moved onto the UI.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a designer and a project manager.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We didn’t have an app before working with League \ Design, and now we have more than 600 users. The app itself is convenient in how it’s organized, as we desired.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager and designer were extremely open-minded and were always online to listen to our feedback and requests. League \ Design offers a specific scheduling tool that allows both parties to work closely together and share their comments and questions with each other. By paying detailed attention to our questions, League \ Design delivered the exact result we wanted.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
League Design always does their best to provide their clients with even more than was laid out in the initial scope.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything was great, so I have nothing to add.

League \ Design Agency managed a health coaching web application's UI and UX. They’ve also provided branding services for the application and currently work on the marketing and sales tools surrounding the platform.
So far, the app's performance has improved in terms of user engagement, retention rates, and incoming inquiries. League \ Design Agency holds themselves to a high standard, committed to delivering quality work through consistent communication and strong collaborative skills.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the creative director of Ignilife, a startup that designs digital health prevention solutions. Our objective is to fight chronic diseases and epidemics with gamified experiences that encourage behavioral changes in patients.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
Initially, we needed an agency to help us manage the UX/UI of the newest version of Ignilife.
What were your goals for these project?
I was looking for a trustworthy partner that shared my same standards in terms of quality.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
I was looking for a team that I could see myself starting a long-term partnership with. I considered a lot of options, and after a few interactions, ultimately settled on League \ Design Agency.
Describe the project in detail.
League \ Design Agency built the UI/UX for our health coaching app. The gamified system uses algorithms to establish the user's health profile and recommend relevant information and programs to improve their well-being. The app mainly evaluates general health, nutritional habits, emotional health, and physical activity.
After completing the design work, the team moved onto brand strategy. We're currently collaborating on marketing and sales tools to help promote the application.
What was the team composition?
We worked with some of their young engineers, some specializing in the medical industry.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We're in the deployment phase, so it's a bit early to talk about strictly quantitative fiWiths. WIth that being said, we've experienced improvements in user engagement, retention rates, and inquiries via our commercial pipeline.
As a startup, the partnership League \ Design Agency was extremely valuable. Rather than hiring my own in-house team, I can work hand-in-hand with a team of design experts.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We work as simply as possible—discuss specifications, agree on a schedule, and determine milestones. We speak several times a day and share information via communication channels. They take the time to understand our requirements; it's key to their success. Despite the physical distance between us, I still feel like we're working side by side.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They're strong listeners with a lot of knowledge, which allows them to go beyond my requests and deliver great work. Autonomously proactive, they consistently work quickly and efficiently.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There's always room for improvement. League \ Design Agency could expand their design services, but otherwise, I'm delighted with the current state of our collaboration.

League\Design upgraded an existing app and designed a new app based on a web product. They produced UI kits, style guidelines, and a UX for both apps, and introduced new functionality to the existing app.
League\Design’s work was well-received and led to them being contracted for a second engagement. They maintained a deep level of communication and provided authentic passion throughout the project. They incorporated feedback rapidly and demonstrated a high level of professionalism.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the senior global product manager at Quazar LLC, an electronic security system support company. We collect data from Meta System S.p.A devices (vehicle tracking technology) from around the world and work with businesses to offer software solutions such as mobile and web apps and APIs.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
We needed to add new requirements and functionalities—for both teams and clients—to an existing app, as well as upgrade its design with a new UI kit and style guide. We were also building a new app was based on the design of our existing web app, which is a commercial off-the-shelf solution.
What were your goals for this project?
Our plan for 2018 was to transform our solutions into products and to add new ones as well. We wanted to update one of our apps, which helps lot owners find vehicles with live tracking, to have the same interface as our web app. We also wanted to build a new mobile app for user security that helps people locate their vehicles and protect them against theft.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
We put out a tender to 10 well-known Russian companies but chose League\Design because of their readiness to consider our legal, timeline, and cost interests. Every company offered time and materials procedure but they helped us fix down the cost of the UX, in terms of how many hours we needed.
Describe the project in detail.
The first step was to prepare our budget as we’d already discussed it deeply in the tender process and had provided them with the necessary documents to analyze. They created a new design and new features for our existing app including security, safety, and smart driving capabilities. This allows users to always be connected with their cars. In the end, they delivered the UX, UI kit icons, and style guidelines for both apps.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a manager, a designer, and a graphic designer, who helped with the icons.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The team showed incredibly professional skills in analytics, creativity, contract management, and time and budget control. We continued the initial cooperation and are now working on a web project.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The League\Design team was deeply involved in each step with weekly Skype calls, chat's, file sharing, and delivery. We received much more than we expected and found passion, responsibility, new ideas, and friendship.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We had no clue how to proceed with an outsourcing project concerning our main product, so we relied on League\Design’s professional team. They implemented changes with incredible speed, which was amazing, considering all the management support we needed. Their process efficiency was also great.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They should propose more options at each step, such as best practices.

League \ Design Agency has designed and developed an online educational product and improved an existing ERP's UI/UX. Both projects are going through an extensive revision process.
The improved ERP has increased efficiency and doubled indicators during a traditionally slow quarter. League \ Design Agency's lead designers stay engaged with every stage of the process. The team is organized, efficient, and prompt to accommodate feedback.

I'm product manger of an educational holding that teaches English in the B2B sector. We operate two English-language schools and a knowledge sharing service for teachers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire League \ Design Agency?
One year ago we decided to take our outdated educational business into the next phase of its evolution. We wanted to use existing offline and online tools to improve student results. Our existing ERP had an extremely poor UI/UX.
What were your goals for this project?
Our first goal was improving our ERP's UI/UX. We wanted a 75% reduction in manager error and a 50% reduction in the time needed for new administrators to learn all the tools. We also needed to develop our new online educational product.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
My friend, who's a web developer, knew and recommended them.
Describe the project in detail.
In initial meetings, we discovered our needs, goals, and main path. Then they created mock-ups. Through demo meetings and feedback, we revise those concepts. They later created animations, which we also revise in demo meetings.
What was the team composition?
We work with four main people. Our project manager contols the workflow and communication. We have two main designers, one for the ERP and one for the new product. Our art director helps us reach the genius level.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The seasons highly impact our market. Summer and winter are historically poor for educational businesses. This summer, we have doubled last year's indicators. That's mostly because of their great, timely work.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They meticulously schedule communication so we can understand their workflow. However, we can always can talk to the project manager. There's never a problem making changes on time.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I'm impressed by the high quality of the designs. Their designers are involved in our business and its processes. They truly love what they do, and we're happy to work with them.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
My experience with this agency has been extremely disappointing, especially considering that I invested approximately $50,000 into this engagement. At that price point, I expected a professional agency relationship: strong communication, experienced project management, attention to detail, proactive problem solving, and a team capable of taking ownership of the work. Unfortunately, my experience has been almost the opposite. The biggest issue is that I have had to micromanage an agency that I am paying to manage and execute the project. I did not hire an agency so that I could become its project manager, art director, quality-control department, and designer. Yet throughout this engagement, I have repeatedly found myself doing exactly that. I have had to review work at an extremely granular level, point out spacing problems, alignment issues, inconsistencies, incorrect positioning, typography problems, differences between desktop and mobile, and situations where previously established design decisions were simply not being followed. This is not what I consider normal client feedback. Normal feedback is discussing creative direction, refining concepts, or making strategic decisions together. What I experienced was having to repeatedly explain execution details that a professional digital agency should be capable of managing internally. At approximately $50,000, I should not need to micromanage basic execution. Communication has also been one of the weakest aspects of the engagement. In my experience, communication has lacked the consistency, clarity, responsiveness, and organization that I would expect from a professional agency managing a project of this size. Too often, I have felt responsible for keeping things moving, clarifying what should already have been understood, repeating previous instructions, and making sure feedback was actually reflected in subsequent work. That creates another problem: the client begins spending an unreasonable amount of time managing the agency. An agency is supposed to remove operational burden from the client. In my case, working with the agency often created additional work for me. There were periods where I felt that unless I personally inspected every detail, something would be overlooked. That completely defeats the purpose of paying a professional team. The lack of effective internal quality control has been particularly frustrating. There were numerous occasions where I questioned how certain work had reached me without someone internally reviewing it first. When there is an established desktop design, approved visual language, defined spacing, typography, motifs, and page structure, I should not need to continuously remind a professional team to maintain those standards. Once something has been corrected, I also expect the lesson from that correction to carry across the project. Instead, I frequently found myself giving similar categories of feedback again. That is exhausting as a client. If I explain how spacing should work on one section, I should not have to individually supervise spacing across every subsequent section. If we establish how desktop translates into mobile, that principle should be understood and applied to other pages. If a visual motif has an established behavior, I should not need to repeatedly explain how it should be handled. A professional agency should build institutional knowledge as the project develops. I did not consistently experience that. There is also a major difference between being "detail-oriented" as a client and being forced to micromanage because the work is not being sufficiently reviewed before delivery. I am absolutely detail-oriented. Maison des Elites is a luxury brand, and details matter enormously to us. But that does not excuse an agency from doing its own QA. Luxury design requires precision. Typography, spacing, hierarchy, interaction, movement, alignment, mobile responsiveness, and consistency are not optional finishing touches. They are fundamental parts of the design. I have spent an enormous amount of my own time inside the project correcting and refining work. In several instances, I have effectively had to develop the solution myself and then communicate exactly how I wanted the agency to execute it. At that point, I have to question what I am paying the agency for. If the client is identifying the problem, developing the solution, explaining the solution, reviewing its implementation, finding additional problems, and then supervising another round of corrections, the division of responsibility is fundamentally wrong. For a project costing approximately $50,000, I expected senior-level thinking and execution. I expected the team to challenge themselves before presenting work to me. I expected somebody internally to ask: Does this match the approved direction? Is the spacing correct? Is the typography consistent? Does the mobile version properly reflect desktop? Were the client's previous comments incorporated? Does this actually feel finished? Instead, too many of those questions have effectively been left for me to answer. Project management has consequently felt inadequate for the scale and cost of the engagement. Good project management is not simply scheduling meetings or sending messages. It means understanding what has been requested, documenting decisions, ensuring feedback reaches the appropriate people, checking that deliverables satisfy those requirements, identifying problems proactively, and communicating clearly with the client. The client should not have to repeatedly police the process. Communication has compounded these frustrations. When you are already unhappy with execution, poor or inconsistent communication makes the experience significantly worse. I should not need to chase clarity or repeatedly explain decisions that have already been discussed. For $50,000, professionalism should be visible throughout the entire client experience—not only in a proposal or sales presentation. It should be visible in communication. It should be visible in project management. It should be visible in attention to detail. It should be visible in how feedback is documented. It should be visible in the quality of work presented to the client. And most importantly, it should be visible in accountability when something is not working. Another frustration is the amount of my own time this project has consumed. The real cost of an agency engagement is not simply the invoice. There is also the client's time. When I am spending hours reviewing, correcting, redesigning, documenting issues, and explaining implementation details, that represents a significant additional cost to my business. I hired an agency specifically because I wanted experienced professionals to take responsibility for this work. Instead, I have often felt like I hired people who still required me to supervise the work at an extremely granular level. That is unacceptable to me at this price point. I also want to distinguish between demanding high standards and expecting perfection. I never expected every first draft to be perfect. Creative projects involve iteration. I am completely comfortable providing feedback and collaborating. The problem is the volume and nature of the intervention required. When the founder is repeatedly fixing the agency's work, something has gone wrong with the relationship. When the founder has to micromanage execution, something has gone wrong. When established feedback needs to be repeated, something has gone wrong. When the client feels responsible for quality control despite paying approximately $50,000 for professional services, something has gone wrong. This experience has significantly reduced my confidence in the agency. At this stage, I believe the agency needs to conduct a serious internal review of the entire project rather than simply continuing to submit invoices as though everything has proceeded normally. I have made it clear that I expect the work to be reviewed against the extensive feedback and corrections already provided. I do not believe it is reasonable to expect a client to continue paying invoices without addressing substantial concerns regarding the quality and management of the work already delivered. The agency should review what was originally submitted, what I subsequently had to correct, how much direction was required from me, what feedback had to be repeated, and whether the level of service actually corresponds with what a client should reasonably expect from an approximately $50,000 engagement. My advice to prospective clients would be to document everything. Keep records of feedback. Keep versions of deliverables. Track what you requested, what was delivered, what had to be corrected, and how often the same problems occur. Do not assume that because you hired an agency at a substantial price point that you will necessarily receive a hands-off experience. In my case, this has been anything but hands-off. I have had to be deeply involved in virtually every aspect of the work to protect the standard of my brand. For me, the fundamental question is simple: if I am paying approximately $50,000 for professional agency services, why am I having to micromanage the professionals? I expected expertise. I expected ownership. I expected communication. I expected organization. I expected attention to detail. I expected the agency to reduce my workload. Instead, I experienced poor communication, excessive dependence on my direction, repeated corrections, insufficient quality control, and an extraordinary amount of micromanagement. The most frustrating part is that I can see how much of this could have been avoided with stronger leadership, better communication, better internal review, and greater ownership of the work. A client paying this level of fees should not have to fight to get the details right. They should not have to repeatedly explain established design decisions. They should not have to personally catch problems before launch. And they certainly should not feel as though managing the agency has become another full-time responsibility. Unfortunately, that is how this engagement has felt to me.
What was your primary form of communication with League Design Agency?
Virtual Meeting
Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
None. Are there any areas for improvement or something League Design Agency could have done differently?
After investing approximately $50,000, I expected a professional partner who would take our vision and help elevate it. Instead, I have spent far too much of this project supervising, correcting, and managing the people I hired to make my workload lighter. That has been the most disappointing part of the entire experience.
