We contacted LaternSol, and they connected us with a freelancer to start. LanternSol added a search bar to our website for customers to search for products more easily. We provided their team with documentation for how we wanted the search bar to look on mobile and desktop. Key technologies included HTML and CSS.

We started our company using the Wix platform which was enough to get the gears turning but quickly after launching our business demanded more.

We needed a website that would grow with us and we made the decision to move to Shopify. After trying to build the website myself I found out I wasn't capable off building what I envisioned. We found Jay and his team at LanternSol and quickly found out they were the ones. He is expert level in his field and can do anything you need to make your website perfect.

The scope was building a fitness equipment company website from the ground up. From the fonts to the color scheme no detail was to small, it was all hands on deck to build an amazing website for our customers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Yes, our website loads so much faster, our customers are giving us awesome feedback and I expect out average order value to increase with better apps and processes built into the website.

We used a software called markup.io to go back and forth on website updates and changes. The software was cool and worked great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have a ton of experience in the fitness industry which was super helpful while building the site.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Every request we made was completed and if they thought it could be done better they would tell us and explain the reason why they think it should be done this way. The customer is not always right when it comes to website development, take the experts advice.

CRO audit and website improvements for CRO.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected LanternSol through Shopify Experts and the deciding factors were their high rating on Shopify Experts, affordable rates, and quick responses to our questions prior to hiring them to complete the requested work.

LanternSol completed a CRO audit of our Shopify site which took about a week to complete following payment of the invoice. Upon our request, we then scheduled a Zoom meeting to discuss the results of the CRO audit. The audit included recommendations for actions to take to improve our CRO, and we decided to move forward with LanternSol to complete the priority recommendations. All of this work was completed on Shopify using Shopify apps as needed.

The owner, Jay was my point of contact, and he referenced his design team and development team throughout the process.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are continuing to work on the SEO on our end, but we are optimistic that the CRO will improve when we improve our SEO.

We communicated through Shopify Experts and email. The time frame of the project was communicated at the beginning of the project, and any questions or setbacks were promptly communicated. There was a delay due to technological restraints in one of the app addons, but the delay and the reason for it were communicated to us, and the restraints were resolved.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I appreciated their quick response time, and we had some issues with the site not displaying correctly in different sections of our site following the publication of the updates, and LanternSol continued to help us resolve the issues very quickly and efficiently.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The work we hired LanternSol to complete required apps added on to our site, and I would've liked to understand beforehand what apps were required and how much the monthly subscription would be for each app as opposed to finding out as the work was being completed in real time. The apps made a difference and improved the aesthetics of our site, but for accounting purposes, I would have liked to understand the additional cost for the apps from the beginning.

After implementing the changes created we immediately saw a decrease in the need for extensive customer support. One of the initiatives to improve the U.X resulted in a 4X return

My favorite part about working with this company was their flexibility in communication. Some companies are very strict in their platform however Jay was able to work with me over all types of communication so that I could reach him anytime of day or any device

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Jay was so wonderful to work with. He was fast, efficient, asked great questions and delivered EXACTLY what we were looking for! He even provided documentation for upkeep after his design changes were completed (this was very easy to read and understand). I highly recommend working with Jay if you want something done right and in a timely manner. We will definitely be going back to him for all of our store's future customizations.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose to work with Jay because his experience lined up with our needs. He has a professional manner, a receptive listener, and is also a great communicator.

Jay took our content-heavy portfolio and large catalog of shop products from Squarespace to Shopify in a way that preserved our brand identity and site experience. He was very communicative throughout the process and helped us navigate unforeseen setbacks with a sense of urgency and purpose.

Although I don't know much about code, he was able to explain the site transfer process in basic terms and was very transparent about the scope of the project as a whole. Jay accommodated numerous requests for small changes and tweaks once our site was live and customers were able to give us feedback on the new experience.

We are continuing to work with Jay as he adds more features to our site and optimizes our Facebook and Instagram shopping integrations.

We worked directly with Jay on every aspect. He has some team behind the scenes that help him with certain tasks, but all communication has been through email or phone with Jay.

We have heard positive feedback from customers, and encounter fewer headaches on our end when orders come through.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Jay took the initiative to keep the project on schedule even when my team hit delays and took longer than expected to provide feedback. He followed up regularly and made sure that each task got done.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have extensive web design and tech knowledge and they take the time to communicate patiently to us in a way that non-tech people can understand. They are very consistent in their work and you can tell that they take pride in getting something done right.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were a few unforeseen obstacles in getting our site functioning optimally once we brought it live, but Jay was very punctual in correcting those issues as soon as possible and we are very happy with the end product.

I'm a consultant working with a brain health technology e-commerce company.

For what projects/services did your company hire LanternSol, and what were your goals?

Our brain health technology device requires the use of a app subscription for on-going use. We tapped Recharge to power the subscriptions but we needed design and development on our e-commerce storefront (powered by Shopify Plus) to create a custom product page the clearly outlined the purchase of the device + the app subscription options and added both products to cart without allowing the customer to purchase one without the other.

We needed it to be clear that both were required and easily understood what the customer was getting with their purchase. In addition to this, our devices were delayed in shipping from the manufacturer so we needed to integrate the Klaviyo Back in Stock flow to the custom product page so that customers could be notified when the device arrives without losing the fact that they will have purchase the subscription as well.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Jay and his team were actually recommended to us by Recharge because of his extensive work with the app and Shopify. His pricing is incredibly fair and he came recommended so it was a no-brainer for us.

We provided Jay with a requirements document detailing our needs, the requirements of how the data should be passed to the cart/checkout, and a very rough mockup of design ideas we had for how the PDP could look utilizing Recharge. For the Klaviyo Back in Stock, we provided the Klaviyo documentation and explained how we needed it to work. Jay came back to us with some questions in order to create a proper custom PDP design.

Once the design was approved, he implemented his design to exact specifications and very quickly. Becuase of the complexity of the request, we had a few rounds of feedback during testing to ensure the cart functionality behaved as expected but he was able to resolve any issues we found.

We only worked with Jay who I believe is the head of the agency.

Jay delivered exactly what we were hoping for. Because of his designs and development work, our custom PDP is beautiful and functional which is all we could have asked for.

Because our project was on a very tight timeline and there were only two stakeholders involved we kept all our communication to a single email chain which I found to be perfectly fine. We were both able to track changes and feedback as well as have a paper trail of feedback and fixes.

Jay is professional, talented and most importantly delivers exactly what he promises. He is clearly a problem solver and works very quickly to turn tasks around.
