I spent three months researching transportation software to manage scheduling of vehicles, physician visits and controlling outside venders. This product supported by Kromeon is the best and most cost efficient software, and the easiest to support, start-up and manage.

They have been instrumental in debugging, modifying and supporting both the start-up on going use of the product. They have exceeded my overall expectations with the support and education on the product. They are currently automating a mandatory state billing form to make my operation more efficient elliminating the need to fill out State Medicaid billing form.

The changes they have made to the product have resulting in HealthRide combining schedulers between our facilities, it has eliminated cost and in some areas made us twice as efficient. They had been extremely interest in my feed back to make the product better for all that use it.

The project was arranged by Journey and Kromeon, and has been extremely effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They have taken my support call at the top level of the company and fix or made patches until permanent solution could be made. They have been responsive to needs. Without the software we don't make visits, schedule appointments and manage employees.

I hired kromeon to develop the app for iOS and Android. The solution needed to have a scrolling map feature that would let users connect with each other based on location and proximity.

First, I explained my vision and goals for the app. kromeon documented ideas and then proceeded into development. The team designed and tested the solution. Currently, the app is live and we’re considering a second version with enhanced visuals.

There was no shortage of software companies near our headquarters in San Francisco. We ultimately choose kromeon because of their diligence and attention to detail.

kromeon developed an iOS and Android app for users (pick-up requests) and drivers. They also created a website with responsive design functionality. Both the app and the website required a number of features, including: GPS location services; optional booking – now or later; iCal integrated booking reminder; location services for driver’s distance to user; active price matrix based on car and distance; push notifications from driver to user; confirmation notice including car image and plate number; third-party login and third-party payment options; live trip map - ETA to location; pick-up alerts; and payment options.

We worked with four front-facing team members: a director of development, two product managers, and a senior developer.

We were able to raise a second round of funding due to their absolute dedication to success and high level of detail.

kromeon held weekly meetings to discuss progress and view the demo. They provided full transparency via their project management tool.

They were completely accessible around the clock. We had the ability to call or text any of our assigned project and product managers.

The app officially launched in November 2018. In the first month, the app has over 40 downloads and excellent reviews. At the beginning of the new year, kromeon will assist with app marketing and any additional refinements.

I met with kromeon once a week and frequently communicated through email, text, and phone. Their team was responsive to any inquiries and provided helpful suggestions along the way.

The team at kromeon has several years of app development experience. They were extremely knowledgeable. kromeon has a fantastic network of developers, artists, and marketers.

There are none I can think of. The project was finished on time and within the cost estimate.

What were your goals for this project?

The app will simplify home selection, offer-to-closing, and other important processes within the home buying process. It will also ease price selection, staging, timing, and other pertinent steps for sellers. The aim is to create an easy, fun, efficient forum to put everyone on the same page and eliminate unnecessary misunderstandings or undue hardships.

Our online research and business contact referrals all recommended kromeon as the right choice for this project.

We had an initial consultation to discuss the direction, goals, and vision for the project. After that, we had multiple reviews and meetings to ensure the project was progressing according to plan. The final product came to us in a timely, professional manner. kromeon was very efficient.

What was the team composition?

A project manager was assigned to the project. They acted as our main point of contact throughout the process. We didn't interact with the rest of the team directly, but there were several developers and a QA resource on their side. They all worked together to make our dream a reality.

The app has a high rate of success and receives positive feedback from buyers, sellers, and other professionals in our industry.

Communication with our assigned project manager was timely, cohesive, professional and friendly. They strove to deliver on all our specifications in a timely manner, with as few glitches as possible. Our needs evolved as the project progressed, and they were sensitive to those changes.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ongoing, regular communication was both helpful and engaging. They have a lot of knowledge in the industry and exceeded all our expectations.

This was a highly satisfying experience. We have no complaints whatsoever.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am a 75 year old retired petroleum engineer. I travel a lot. I have been to 114 countries and counting. Typically, I send emails on my travels with photos to many of my friends. I maintain a distribution list of some 80 plus. Many enjoy my Travel Notes. So, I decided that maybe an app is a good idea. To tahst end, I hired Kromeon to build me my app in Google and Apple stores. It is called NeilsTravels. And it is free. Many of my friends have found it useful as I post travel tips on the same app. They can also ask me a question on travels.

It also takes you to my YouTube channel called NEILTUBE. I designed the app and contracted with Kromeon to build it. The cost was approximately $100,000. I also gave them a multi year - paid up front - service contract for 3 years. The cost was $300 a month. During Covid, I blogged a lot thru emails. So, I decided to have a website that combined my app, NeilsTravels and blog and a few other features. I designed the website called, DondemiNeilsTravels.com

Since they had built my app, I hired Kromeon to build the website for approximately $100,000. I then gave Kromeon a multi year service contract @ $475 a month. I paid $19,000 up front to run the service contract from September 2022 to September 2026. In 2023, Kromeon started faking the service. The reports were not on time. It was clear they were made up as I hold credentials for all - Kromeon did not once ask for credentials. I will be happy to share Kromeon Service reports so you can draw your own conclusion.

After many attempts to have Kromeon do the service work as per the contract, nothing changed. I sent a certified mail to cancel the service contract December 1, 2023. As a result of early termination of the contract, Kromeon owes me in excess of $12,000. Kromeon refuses to pay. The owner, JP has been most unprofessional to deal with. He is rude, nasty and otherwise unpleasant to deal with. I can never recommend anyone to deal with him.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address?
I was attempting to address the challenge of Kromeon actually service my app, NeilsTravels and DondemiNeilsTravels.com as per the service contract. In December 2022, my website was hacked. Kromeon as per the service contract fixed the website. When it came to payment, I inquired as to why service contract does not cover such a fix. JP threatened to reinstall the hacked version if I would not pay. So, of course I paid.

Around that time, just about all the persons I worked with at Kromeon quit Kromeon. The service contract required monthly service reports in a format that was specified in the contract. Kromeon from February onwards never submitted reports as per the contract. Repeated emails from me - JP refused to rectify or answer my questions. From March 2023 - it was clear that Service reports were faked. Many looked like copy and paste from ChatGP.

Getting no positive response from JP - I terminated the service contract effective Dec 1, 2023. The challenge now is to collect approximately $12,000 that Kromeon owes me. JP comes up with all kinds of excuses as to why he will not pay.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of Kromeon's involvement and team dynamic?
As to the solution to collecting what Kromeon owes me - I am exploring legal issues. I think Kromeon has committed a fraud by taking my money and not providing the contracted services. I have also contacted the San Diego Government Better Business Bureau. Additionally, FTC allows complaints on their website for fraud.

What's the status of this engagement?
The status of this issue is I am currently engaging a lawyer to assist me in collecting and offer further guidance.

How did your relationship with Kromeon evolve?
The relationship has completely broken because JP is rude to deal with. He is unreasonable in his demands. He is dishonest. He said he wants to settle amicably. On the telephone, the only thing he said is he will not reimburse me period. If anything, JP says I owe him money.

In what ways can they improve?
There is no hope to improve the relationship because JP is extremely rude. I can't imagine dealing with him again on this issue or any other issue.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
My advice to future clients - do not hire Kromeon as long as you have to deal with JP. I have found him to be a totally dishonest businessman. I will also note that the review posted in 2019 on Clutch was not posted by me. It was posted without my permission. And future clients should disregard that review. It is wrong and dishonest if it was posted by Kromeon.

UPDATED REVIEW

1. Bring my app to the latest technical standards 
2. Far more superior UI/UX to my current (now old) app

5. Lastly, redesign a Content Management System (CMS) to make it easy to upload information to the app and is based on commonly used platforms worldwide

2. I contacted all of them - of which 3 replied
3. I had prepared a competency evaluation form which I asked all of them to fill out
4. After analysis - I contacted each of them on telephone
5. While cost is always a factor - I knew my budget
6. Based on my conversations with them, their resources, their abilities, competencies and more willing to work on an individual project like mine - each submitted a price offer
7. Based on all this analysis, I selected Kromeon (App Development Company). One other factor was all of Kromeon (ADC) staff were in one location - San Diego. And all spoke English.

1. Kromeon (ADC) has a rigorous project development tools - one of which includes agreeing to what the project needs to accomplish before any work starts.
2. It's called PRD (Project Requirement Document) - this was an excellent tool to get every one on the same page.
3. As part of revamp of my app - we decided a new logo was required. Kromeon (ADC) - and I discussed various ideas and they proposed many designs. Their knowledge and experience helped nail down a logo
4. As part of app development, Kromeon and I worked on mock up screens - an essential development tool for an app.
5. Kromeon (ADC) showed much flexibility to development of mock up screens. After about 10 iterations of mock up screens, we agreed on the final look and feel of the app.
6. After this stage, Kromeon (ADC) engaged their development team to translate these mock up screens into a working model of the app
7. After a working model was ready, transfer of data from old app to this new app was required - which Kromeon (ADC) did effortlessly.
8. Once the new app was in working order, Kromeon (ADC) and I worked on the new CMS - which they have already been working on all along.
9. Once all pieces were ready, we had the beta testing phase during which some bugs were identified which were promptly fixed by Kromeon (ADC) 
10. The app NeilsTravels has now been successfully released - thanks to Kromeon (ADC).
11. Feedback to this date from users is very positive.
12. There are some issues that will be fixed in the next few months - but these were issues that came up after PRD was agreed to.
