The scope of the project was to develop a mobile app for both Android and iOS. We provided the high level designs, and Kooky Infomedia refined those designs based on UI principles and built the app across multiple devices/interfaces for us. This included sharing prototypes, allowing us to test, and incorporating any feedback during the build process. They also continued to support the app after the project to ensure it is updated to meeting Google/Apple guidelines/policies.

We had a main point of contact and a team of developers/testers as well. We primarily liaised with the main point of contact, with occasional communication with the technical teams.

The app was built as per the agreed design specifications and was launched to the AppStore and PlayStore as per plan.

They have great design expertise and the technical ability to bring those designs to life via a beautiful and functional app.

More formal communication/updates might be appreciated by other clients, but we were happy to receive updates more informally via Skype.

Ravindra has been so patient with me! This is my first app and first time working with this type of service so their was a bit of a learning curve involved.

When we started out we thought this project would be done before the election. Then Corona got worse. This was totally out of Kooky’s control, but providing an exact plan forward would have been helpful so that I could have planned for the delay on my side.

All the needs were being met from the point of view of development and designing. Since, the scope of the website was very detailed, it was met from their end.

We had almost daily communication with the project manager who made sure we and the development team are all in sync and captured the MOM of all the conversations along with setting in tone the status of the work at every point.

They kept the communication process up to mark, we were being aware of what's going on in real-time.

There are revisions as the scope starts to get clearer, they accommodated that well over time.

I’m the founder and case manager of the Phantom Detectives paranormal research team. We specialize in paranormal investigations in homes and businesses that have reported paranormal activities, which range from ghosts and UFOs to cryptozoology. We document our findings on our website as well as our social media pages, and we provide services to people in need of help in the paranormal field.

I was looking for a team to develop our first website, needing a certain standard of quality.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kooky Infomedia built our website from the ground up and provided maintenance services. I had a vision of what I wanted, which was a top-notch paranormal investigation website, and they developed it on WordPress. They walked us through the whole process, showing us mock-ups to see where the development was going. The team also guided us when the final draft was finished, and then we moved it from their server to my hosting provider. 

Moreover, they built our public overnights page. This allowed us to schedule public investigations all over the country; people could investigate locations with us. On top of that, they created an admin panel for me to easily update and add new content, such as a new picture for an investigation. 

Since we were a paranormal investigation team, we didn’t have many marketing campaigns. In lieu of that, Kooky Infomedia advised us to go to Facebook and other social media channels to share our website with like-minded groups. They also suggested connecting the website to Google Analytics for us to see how many people came to our website per week and month. Through it, we also saw how much traffic we received.

In the future, if our team grows big enough, Kooky Infomedia may end up building our mobile apps.

We mainly work with Ravindra (Founder & UI/UX Designer) and Gulshan (CTO & Operations Manager). They have an in-house development team, but the two of them have done the actual development of the website.

I did some research and posted a query on LinkedIn. I received a reply from Arpita (Business Manager), and she put me in touch with Ravindra and Gulshan. They scheduled our first consultation to hammer out what we wanted on a website. Then, they walked us through the entire process. I also did some research on them and found out that they were ranked highly among web developers. As a result, I was happy to know their team and felt that I could trust and do business with them.

We’ve invested around $1,600. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership began in November 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website is functioning and has been live since January 2021, and the quality of Kooky Infomedia’s work is reflected in it. It’s simple and effective, and it does its job; users don’t have to go through 50 pages to find what they need. Everything is laid out and arranged in an organized manner, and their work has been highly detail-oriented.

The contact form they created is especially helpful. Businesses and individuals can now fill out the form and indicate what they need. The form is linked to my phone, so customers can call me. They can also email the website, and it will be sent right into my email, which is also linked to my phone. 

On top of that, they’ve made it truly easy for me to add content on the website using the admin panel, which is nice because I don’t have any IT background. I can add content and hit save to automatically reflect changes — I love its simplicity. To sum things up, Kooky Infomedia is the best webmasters out there, and nobody can do the work as efficiently and quickly as they can.

How did Kooky Infomedia (P) Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re a great and gifted team, performing well above and beyond our expectations. I’ve been expecting a basic website, but the animations, the flickering lights, and the backgrounds they’ve created are absolutely outstanding. If I have to grade them from 1–10, I’ll give them an almost perfect score. It’s the best quality website I’ve ever seen of its kind.

To communicate with Kooky Infomedia, we use a couple of platforms. We’ve got in touch with them through Zoom, which allows them to work around my schedule. Even when they’re in the office late at night, they can talk to me. They’re not always active on LinkedIn, so they’ve given me their WhatsApp numbers. If I have a question, I can send them a message using it. They’re almost always immediately available at any time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ravi and Gulshan, along with the whole Kooky Infomedia team, have done an outstanding job in providing the services that my paranormal team needs. They’re great at their job, and their attention to detail is outstanding. They put a lot of pride into their work, resulting in the best website for our budget. It’s beautiful, and it’s one of the best state-of-the-art paranormal sites in the world. Overall, we hope to do business with them for many more years to come.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like to communicate with the Kooky Infomedia team a little more in the future. Sometimes, it’s hard to get a hold of them because they get tied up at work. I know they’re busy, but it will be nice to talk more about our ideas for the website. They reply back when they can, but it can be so random. Their replies may take a couple of days or weeks, and sometimes it takes only a night. 

On top of that, they can use more flexibility with payments. We’ve used PayPal during the web design process, but they’ve wanted to use another payment gateway for my other website project. I’ve taken that second project to another company with more flexible payment methods. I would’ve given that project to Kooky Infomedia if we continued to use PayPal. Since I want them to be my sole webmasters, I hope they can offer more payment alternatives in the future. I don’t want to take my business to somebody else, so I’d like to see them become more flexible and go back to Paypal if they can.

Find out what kind of business you have, and then reach out to Arpita, who handles all scheduling and consultation work. Email them, and put exactly what you’re looking for in terms of web design, coding, or anything else.

Then, you can communicate with Ravindra and Gulshan to determine what work needs to be done for your business. Sit down with them or talk over Zoom or WhatsApp. They can show you what they’ll do step-by-step. That’s how you’ll get the most out of the engagement.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have yet to see the impact of the work that we have all done, but we are working diligently to ensure we receive the best results possible. Rentee is a strong willed, trustworthy company, and is even stronger with our partnership with Kooky Infomedia.

They have done nothing but improve our business by keeping us informed on the things we need to know, and helping us understand our challenges from a backend operational view.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We mostly communicate through Skype meetings, and they work a lot better than I thought they would. There are some language barriers at times, but mostly communication is very good. Even we may struggle to communicate sometimes, and they have been able to work with us; adjusting to delays on our end.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Ability to produce the product we asked for with ease. They work very quickly. Even when we had to change something, they were able to do so.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At the moment, we have no remarks for things that needs improvements. Things they did well were provide written documents with questions so when it was hard to understand the language barrier was subsided. They also provide updated screenshots while the project is developing.

It came down to 2-3 companies. I submitted a skeleton of what I wanted my website to look like and asked them to create a homepage for me so I could see who took the direction the best. Kooky Infomedia (P) Ltd. was incredible at that—they followed the specifications to a T.

The app and the website were designed and developed by another firm, and Kooky was building out the UX for both of those. They basically took over the code and worked on it to improve the UX. First, they resolved some bugs that we were having on the app and improved the player function. Then, they did a major overhaul and redesigned our website and our app, improving the UX experience for our customers.

One way we track success is through our support tickets. Before Kooky did our UX in 2018, we had a lot of comments about technical issues. After they created a new UX for our app, there have been almost no issues. We've also just launched the new website that Kooky has designed for us, and we’re happy with the UX design.

How did Kooky Infomedia perform from a project management standpoint? 

They're doing an excellent job. At first, they didn't feel the urgency of our timelines, but that is common for Indian companies. Eventually, they picked up the pace, and responded very quickly when we needed them to respond.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have an excellent team of designers. They have a sense of what users want, so they're able to create engaging graphics and interactive experiences. They took a list of bullet points and turned it into an impressive design.

They might improve their sense of urgency and timeline. But, as I've said, they picked up fairly quickly.

Relationship with the client really matters to them, so be respectful and allow them the freedom to create. They're a very creative group and they can add a lot of value.
