Build quality was exceptional, timing was brilliant, assistance on some issues was great, and the client relationship is fantastic. And we have been able to vastly increase therapeutic outreach globally.

They were nothing but professional and of the highest standard. If there were any sort of delay, odds are it was from our end, not Kode's.

Their ability to work with us in getting to where we want to. This is our second go around (first with Kode), and it has been night and day. In this industry, you frequently hear the horror stories, and I can say Kode is not one of them.

Nothing that would be a direct result due to them, they have had to adapt immensely this year, just like the rest of us, to certain conditions at hand.

They took my prototype and learnings and turned it into a fully functioning 5-star app. We had unique requirements for handling data, which were handled expertly.

The app was completed, and has received unsolicited 5-star reviews from users. Throughout the process, we met weekly to discuss goals, milestones, and progress. I always felt I knew what was going on at all times.

Items were delivered on time and on or under budget. Incredibly responsive during minimum of weekly meetings and via Slack. We shared a dashboard, so I could always see how things were progressing.

The communication and openness to explore beyond their comfort zone. When interviewing firms, I found others were set in their ways and unwilling to communicate or adapt. They were not self directed, and would just create exactly what you told them to. 
Everyone I interacted with at Kode was different. We were collaborators. They'd listen to my vision, and then advise me on the best tools to create that vision. They were very clear with the scope of what I asked ahead of time, were patient as I learned about software development alongside them to be a better partner in the development of this app, and were always very communicative. 
They have been true partners in the process.

Honestly, no. They've been the most dependable feature in my business so far.

I needed Kode Technologies to help my vision come to life, with a sleek UI design and built with Swift and JavaScript /Kotlin languages. For my knowledge and project management, I needed weekly updates on progress and what could be beneficial to understand for the UX handoff. Weekly, I received project updates as well as access to web based softwares that helped me manage the project and ask to update what was outstanding. After testing, I need the app to be on the App Store.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We finish the application within 6 months, which we did. The expense for what I needed doesn’t exceed $50k, which was a success. Overall, I needed the application to work, which it does!

They delivered items on time, any delays to the timeline were influenced by me. Even then, we still finished my MVP development timeline within 6 months. We discussed progress weekly!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Having a company that believes in your vision and really works to understand the vision is worth more than money. They aren’t money hungry savages that rush the project to get their dollar benefit. They believed in me, and during every call, I felt empowered to stay focused! Plus, I got all this for a great price.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Kode Technologies could have done differently?

I couldn’t ask for too much more. The only thing I can think is I wish they were a little closer to where I’m located so I can meet in person.

We wanted to develop a mobile directory for fraternity and sorority organizations to easy access and update from their phones. Our goal was to make staying connected and networking easier and user friendly for chapters rather than your traditional excels spreadsheets.

We searched online for app developers and interview our top 8. Their experience and ability to understand/understand our goals made us secure them as developers.

We had a number or meeting to walkthrough our goals of how we wanted the app to run and what we wanted it to look like. After each stage of the process and/or designs we were able to review them on a call together to make sure the team was on the right track. We were able to beta test the app prior to launching and correct and necessary fixes.

We worked directly with Egill, who was our project manager. He was so great we honestly did not need to speak with anyone else.

Our project has not even been out a full month and we are getting nothing but positive feedback and love.

Egill was the best at communicating. He always made himself available for calls with any questions and fix any issues immediately after being notified. The turn around was super quick for everything, Egill worked without delays.

Their knowledge and ability to teach was inspiring. Without a doubt, Kode understood the assignment at hand!

I normally always have something to say here but they went above and beyond to ensure our project was a success.

We found Kode Technologies through a google search We spoke with them, alongisde other Mobile App developers and in the end we selected Kode because of the great service (Egill has been extremely helpful and knowledgeable from the start) and affordability. We saw the first mock-up and we knew they got it!

We wanted to launch an app that feeds in our youtube content, allows users to connect with one another and create reading plans through the Bible, as well as allow for in app donations. Kode put together a project team that first showed us the look and feel, the project plan and delivery dates.

Five as far as I am aware- Egill (Project manager, I believe) Pawel (look and feel) and Alexandra (project manager for a short period of time) We also had an ios and android developer.

We have over 3,000 users signed up to the app and we have good numbers in terms of users returning to the app regularly. Feedback so far has been extremely positive and we're really pleased with the project's success.

We received a project plan, and Egill has been available throuhg email and whatsapp constantly. We had regular catch ups (weekly) and as needed as well to ensure the project is on track.

Egill has been great. The quality of the work and the end product were fantastic.  Even though we had some setbacks particularly with the reading plans, the team worked tirelessly to get us back on track.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had some early communication issues initially when we had a different project manager, but we had a frank discussion and since Egill has been our main point of contact, it's been great. He's really responsive, has great ideas and is overall super helpful.

Kode was a relatively new company and showed a lot of interest in the project, returning calls promptly and freely giving advice even before we signed the contract.

We had regular virtual meetings, from which came the basic functionality of the app. At this stage we decided to develop a partner app, Sweetnote Teacher, to communicate with the Sweetnote Student app. From this we developed wireframes and then focused on design, putting together the UI and finally developing the software. A lengthy period of testing and development resulted in further changes to the apps.

The app is launching at the moment, but early feedback from professional musicians is very positive and the professional nature of the app's design and user interface are constantly referenced.

Kode has been entirely open with me at every stage regarding the development of the apps. They have been realistic about timescales and are available for virtual and telephone conversations. They have reacted promptly to fix known issues with the apps.

I'm very impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile to build a successful app. They have also been very candid in what is possible, how much it will cost, and whether or not it represents a good potential investment.

As with all such projects, there has been some slippage in terms of delivery dates.

Design and development of app ‘FinEd4us’ designed to teach financial concepts like savings, budgeting, investing, creating an emergency fund, credit scores, and many more, in an easy-to-digest flow with bite-sized lessons designed for visual, auditory, and reading/writing learners. It is designed for middle schoolers and upwards. 

Kode created a dashboard for me to manage users and a platform for me to upload content.

Design, development and publishing the app on both iOS and Android platforms within agreed timelines, with minimal bugs, and a clean and intuitive set up for users.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

After speaking to several potential developers, I appreciated that the sales person / first point of contact that you meet and spend time discussing your vision and ideas remains with you for the remainder of the project. It is not just a sales pitch after which you get handed over to a project team that you never met before. I enjoyed my first interaction with Kode and was very pleased that I continue to work with Egill throughout the project and he remains the face of Kode for me. 

I found the UI/UX design to be high quality, clean finish and incorporating my feedback down to font type and colour. I was given a wide range of designs to choose from and narrow down and this was a tough process for me because several designs were to a high standard and really good. They exceeded my expectations.

Kode met all the timelines that were presented, whether design, testing, or publishing the app. As a first time app owner, they also guided me through different aspects of the process and provided tips and tools to support.

I can't think of any deal breakers at the moment. Working with Kode, we built a good rapport and there was regular communication to clarify or ask questions.

What challenge were you trying to address with Kode Technologies?

We needed to build a mobile and web app for our company.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Kode Technologies has been developing our mobile and web app. The team has also been working on a partner portal, which will be released soon. The team has been in charge of the backend, frontend, and UX/UI design. The app allows farmers to upload files once, which will be sent to the correct sections and audits, removing duplication. The app also allows users to add team members, manage subscriptions, upload image, documents, PDF and Excel files, and has cross-device functionality.

What is the team composition?

We work directly with 3 individuals from Kode Technologies, with some communication with the extended development team.

How did you come to work with Kode Technologies?

We found Kode Technologies through a referral. We chose the team because they had a perfect price point. The team wasn’t so cheap that they wouldn’t be able to satisfy the complex requirements of our mobile and web app, but they also weren’t so expensive that we couldn’t afford them. Additionally, Egill (CTO & Co-Founder) is brilliant and has helped us find ways to make things work when it seemed impossible.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in early 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app has been launched on the App Store, and we have over 80 farm business accounts on the app. The fact that we continue to work with Kode Technologies is a testament to their ability. We’ve been impressed with the pace of development and the continuous thought given to reaching solutions.

How did Kode Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They mostly deliver on time - when not on time, it is because they correctly value quality. The team is careful not to rush for the sake of my pushing them; they want to get it right, and they have thus far. We primarily communicate through a Slack channel, and Whatsapp / phone calls with Egill, who is always reachable despite his busy schedule. Andrey (Senior Software Engineer) is also great. We also utilise Slack and Notion, which helps everything run efficiently.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The product they built is seriously impressive, and crucially, it is addressing a pain point for farmers across the UK. We’ve also been impressed with their input and ideas. Egill’s guidance has helped me, a non-techy, understand the functionalities. In general, the whole team has been great.

The app design is attractive and user friendly and the completed checklists site notes and photos are emailed back to the office for reference during the draughting stage of the projects.
