The project had to be done in 2 parts. First - it was necessary to create an e-shop, and then a customer self-service system. We decided to make a unified login to both systems. Also integration with our existing CRM platform was also necessary. Additionally, integrations with payment platforms - Paysera and Stripe, Omnisend tool for e-shops were carried out. 

The project was carried out in sprints, in order to reach testing at us as soon as possible and to launch the functionality created for our customers. Currently, the electronic store and self-service system are already in live mode. Now we working on improvement of self service system, and also other development steps are planned.

As we work in sprints of 2 weeks, every task has its goal and desired outcome. So after every two week period, we have a call for demonstration of work and tasks done, how systems are functioning.

Project management was very good, communication was smooth, meetings were regular with clear goal - to plan sprint, to see demo of sprint works done. Kiro.tech we very flexible to adapt to our schedule with lots of meetings. From the beginning we were a bit confused, because we didn't know how to manage such a project better. So with the help of Kiro.tech for project management, we chose the sprint method.

We wanted a tool that would connect innovative European companies to offer and request different kinds of technologies and other services. The project has eight partners collaborating.

What was the scope of their involvement?

kiro.tech provided us with custom software development. First, we gave them technical specifications and some competitive examples. From there, they delivered a mock-up and then developed the software. 

We collected information and created a database of the most promising sectors in our region. We also consulted companies on the possibility of expanding to other countries to find partners, sell, or find new technologies. The software kiro.tech developed is the space where these companies can all communicate about technologies. The platform is active for networking and communication and also functions as a database. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people. The project manager was responsible for the scope and the financial part; a lead developer helped us with the development stages; we also had a tester.

We made a tender and contacted at least three service providers. In our search, we found kiro.tech and read some feedback about them, so we called them to get more information and their offer.

We spent around €10,000 (approximately $10,000 USD).

We worked together from July–December 2021.

We measured kiro.tech's success is based on the platform's features functioning without any problem. Another metric was the number of users we gave this software for free. Afterward, we checked if these users were staying on the platform or if they didn't find it as useful and convenient.

How did kiro.tech perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well in project management, even though we had a bit of delay. The scope of the work changed from day to day because the process was quite agile. The team's communication was good; we had weekly or biweekly meetings, and kiro.tech was responsive. We mainly used email and a platform connected to our email to communicate.

I was impressed with kiro.tech's client-centric approach. They paid attention to our goals and didn't just try to use our budget for their own sake.

They could have improved how they calculated the project scope and timeframe initially.

Update comprised: update of current content management system, update of webpage design and adding new functionality to the webpage – learning management system for online training content display and management of online training process.

• Stage 4 - testing and launching the ISTARTUP.EU website in a production environment WordPress, WPMLS software was used, Wildcard SSL certificates installed, Elementor tool used, Google XML Sitemaps, WP Security Audit Log, ArrowChat, Wordfence plugins. The main deliverables – design of the webpage updated, LMS added, training for project partners how to manage webpage organised.

We hired kiro.tech to take over a newly migrated Magento 2 store (from M1). We did not like the work previous team did with migration and our goal was to increase reliability of our website. After initial cleanup, we are working with kiro.tech on continious improvements for our webshop.

We wanted partners who would be small-medium sized entity, and therefore would be more interested in our project and would tailor their services for our needs. We found kiro.tech online and contacted them without any other information at hand.

We had transfer meetings with both developer teams, after which we set up main priority tasks to be done. Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have identified and resolved issues which were causing downtime. We previously had about 2 outages per month, and kiro.tech managed to fix these issues and we currently have maybe 1 outage in 3-6 months. Kiro.tech also helped us with managing increased traffic and automatic sales. They have developed integration with our ERP which saved us substantial amount of operating costs and helped us manage 6x increase in sales.

We have unique approach of working together with kiro.tech. We have dedicated developer, with whom we are communicating through slack. In our slack channel we have all developers and PM, so in case we have issues, we can quickly contact our designated developer or message all and get a quick response. We track our tasks in ActiveCollab, so we know what is currently going on. We are working on weekly schedules - we prioritize tasks weekly.

They tailored their work with us according to our needs, and we are very comfortable with their work and trust between us.

Since they are small team, they lack some specific field experts (advanced server knowledge, ux/ui), but they have now covered most of their weaknesses by having large network of 3rd party experts who they redirect to in case we have questions or improvement needs.
