Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The user interface designed by Jordan Crown was much better than our previous one. Customers liked it and our business engaged in big projects with Time magazine and other companies. The fact that they chose our solution as a response to sites like BuzzFeed is indicative of our success.

In my experience, the biggest way in which designers waste money is by running with an approach prematurely. Jordan Crown did not do that. They were patient and always saw the big picture.

At one point, we had a very simple website in terms of design. Our company originated in the 70’s and is more of a local-based operation, starting out with frost protection products, also offering tree shakers since the 80’s. Our company needed to grow, after realizing that we're operating in an international market. We are a sales leader for frost fans, and also rank in the top 5 for tree shakers. The leadership realized that there was an opportunity to bring in someone with experience in manufacturing marketing and sales, such as myself. I had not put a website together in the past, even though I had assisted in the process. This was something for which I needed a lot of help and direction. I was looking to find a solution that was user-friendly enough for me to take care of, but I also wanted to know that I could rely on the individuals who built it in the long-term.

Jordan Crown developed our new site using WordPress. The first phase of our work with Jordan Crown involved closing down the old website and starting over fresh. Jordan Crown walked me through every step, usually having to wait for me to deliver the materials they needed for the work. The fact that Jordan Crown cared enough to get in touch with me without being prompted, impressed me. I used an outsourced writer for the site.

During the site launch, I was busy working with a distributor for the company. Jordan Crown took care of everything and did a flawless job. They worked with our IT department, ensuring that our uptime wouldn't be affected by more than 10 minutes.

I needed to be able to do certain site changes myself. Jordan Crown went through a training program with me, walked me through everything, and gave me a cheat-sheet for the coding. There's always a way of contacting Jordan Crown in case something happens, in any case.

I went through a research process and narrowed down my choices to 5 companies, among which was Jordan Crown. I went through an interview process, talking to them over the phone. At that point, Jordan Crown was still a small company. They impressed me through the fact that they were willing to bend over backwards for the customer. They brought their core group from Seattle to Yakima, spending half a day with us reviewing the scope of the project. Jordan Crown was interested in getting a feel for what our company did, in order to help us out. This isn't common in this day and age, and it won me over completely.

Our initial agreement with Jordan Crown was for a total of $15,000.

We have completed the first phase of the project. The site was launched at the beginning of 2015. We have an ongoing relationship with Jordan Crown. Its way beyond me to write code, so I've had to get a hold of their team a couple of times. Jordan Crown had a quick response time and resolved my issues within 24 hours, also providing additional solutions for improvement. The affordability of Jordan Crown's services after the launch has been fantastic in my mind.

We have dealers all around the world. Phase 2 of the project will involve Jordan Crown in building a dealer login through which partners with accounts will be able to order point-of-sale materials, apparel, or other miscellaneous items for the marketing side.

Everyone who has looked at and used our website has said that we have a fabulous layout, which is the credit of Jordan Crown's team. They had clear ideas on how to direct the visitors' attention, what needs to be shown when clicking on a page, and so on. One of the things which impressed me was how Jordan Crown streamlined the site for mobile use. Everything on the landing page will show up clearly on a mobile device. Jordan Crown hit exactly what we were looking for.

Whenever I didn't like something, Jordan Crown had no problem with going in a different direction. They took input from me, ran with my ideas, and built upon them.

Our goal was to get visibility within the marketplace, which at that time, consisted primarily of retailers. We needed a strong online presence which would communicate the value of the technology and what it could achieve, in simple terms. When we launched the company in 2010, RFID was a newer technology. Most of the people that we were talking to weren't in IT; they'd typically be in the marketing and finance departments, so our message had to be clear enough for them, but also precise enough for the technically astute.

With Jordan Crown, we worked on creating a visually-appealing, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-navigate website. Jordan Crown was our go-to company for any kind of design. The website constituted the beginning of the relationship, but as we moved forward, we had Jordan Crown design our tradeshow materials, banners, holiday card templates, and so on. Anything that had a visual component was brought to Jordan Crown.

The selection process was handled by our Chief Financial Officer, not myself. Jordan Crown had already been selected when I came onboard, at the start of the company.

We've had many compliments about the website from investors, which mattered a lot to us. I don't specifically come in contact with clients, but I work a lot with media, and I've gotten good feed-back there as well.

I was in charge of blogs and other postings. Whenever I experienced a glitch, I would contact Jordan Crown. We're located on different coasts, but that didn't matter. Whenever I contacted Jordan Crown, they gave me rapid responses and walked me through many things which stumped me. On a couple of occasions, the website went down and we had to call Jordan Crown in the middle of the night. They were responsive even then.

I've worked with other design teams in other capacities, both for a major communications firm in Miami and also as a freelancer, collaborating with teams from Argentina and other places. I have found Jordan Crown to be very easy to work with. If we give them an overview of what we want to accomplish, Jordan Crown will understand it fast. This has been true for flier designs and other communication pieces. With other teams, I had to map things out and work hard on wireframes. I found Jordan Crown to be extremely astute to what we wanted.

Jordan Crown was the first team that we'd worked with as a company. I came to introduce my organization to another team in Argentina, which I was using because of pricing, but we stayed with Jordan Crown. We were one of their first clients, and it's been interesting to see them become so much more sophisticated.

The load times have decreased immensely. The site's knowledge base has increased and the site provides an overall better experience.

Typically, when I rework a website, the process will take three to six months. Jordan Crown did it in six weeks. Jordan Crown was particularly good at listening to our needs and accommodating us by creating a huge back-end that we could modify ourselves. We can update our own collections, change page content, and arrange items.

Aside from development, we also did some design work with them, but it was not extensive. They did not provide search engine optimization and online marketing. We are currently renegotiating our contract to possibly include these services.

Quality of work is very important to me, and I was also looking for a local, smaller company. I made a list of vendors and researched their previous design work. Jordan Crown proved to be among the best agencies I was looking at.

We interviewed a few companies but ultimately selected Jordan Crown not only because of their quality but because they specialized in Wordpress. Although we hadn’t decided on this platform initially, we came to the conclusion that it would be the best choice. A lot of other vendors used proprietary solutions, which could have potentially left us in the same situation as our old website, in other words no longer supported. Wordpress could be edited at any time by any developer.

We started working with Jordan Crown in March 2015. The website was launched in September.

Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from this engagement?

We wanted to have a more informal image for our company, but one that still worked for our Fortune 500 clients. This was a hard target to hit, but Jordan Crown did a good job, working from our challenging brand proposition.

We’ve had a lot of good feedback from current and potential clients. One of them told us that they chose us specifically because of the site. We have had an eight-fold increase in inbound leads. People are spending more time on the site. Our bounce rate has remained the same.

Their account manager has been incredibly responsive. He is always available to answer any question over the phone. Since we are a consulting firm, our staff is comprised of smart people with many ideas. This led to a lot of changes in our requirements, all of which Jordan Crown handled well.
