They’ve delivered an amazing web design, so far. They’ve also been very kind in accommodating the changes we request. The site boasts features that we didn’t even explicitly request, which was a pleasant surprise. The CEO has provided us complimentary consulting and guidance, despite being notoriously busy. He’s demonstrated the depth of his knowledge by suggesting methods for growth.

Their project management is excellent. Our project manager is professional and timely in his communication. He always offers to get on a call in light of any major development, which we appreciate. We use Slack for casual communication, which has been great in terms of getting a quick response.

They provided a lot of resources that were outside of the strict scope of work. They gave us a free SEO consultation to help us increase our visibility. That extra effort has been a true highlight of the engagement.

Rely on their expertise. They’ve been in the industry for a long time and have scaled many successful companies in the past. Sometimes, their recommendations may not sound very intuitive, but they’ve been doing this for a while and they know what they’re doing.

What challenge were you trying to address with JAFTON?

There weren’t any applications available to find truck parking, make reservations, and make a payment. We decided to create an app with those capabilities, and needed someone to develop it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started off with the idea of just making an app that would find parking spots. Then we decided to add other positions as well, like different locations such as truck stops, rest areas, weigh stations, etc. It’s one single app that has everything in it, making truck drivers’ jobs a lot easier.

JAFTON created the app from scratch. We’re about to release it but there are a few other small things left that we are adding. They do everything including design and backend. We’re first going to be releasing for iOS and the second step will be for Android.

There’s a project manager, a backend developer, an iOS developer, and a designer. The owner is also a part of the whole process.

I heard about their previous projects. I was referred by a friend who knew them. I reached out to the owner and told him about my project idea. They took some time and did research on their end, and then we decided to work together.

We’re really satisfied with their work. It’s been a great experience. Once the app is released, we plan to stay with JAFTON for additional features, and other updates.

How did JAFTON perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is at the highest level. We have scheduled weekly calls with the entire team. If I have a question, I can reach out anytime. We understand each other really easily. 

The invoice shows what kind of work has been performed, how many hours each person spends on whatever he did. It’s very transparent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

JAFTON didn’t just jump on the project right away — they did the research. They came to the project understanding what issues were in the trucking industry. That was the deciding factor to work with them.

I’ve had horrible experiences with other companies who just want to take your money and finish the project and aren’t open to changing the scope. JAFTON is different. If there’s some work that becomes more complicated, it doesn’t matter. JAFTON’s main concern is delivering the solution that’s right for us.

No, everything is perfect on their end.

Don’t hesitate. Ask a lot of questions. Don’t hide that you don’t understand something.

I am the founder and CEO of a podcasting and video sharing software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with JAFTON?

I was looking to build out an app for iOS and Android as well as a CMS to manage the whole thing.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the full software and app interfaces that I was looking for. Right now, the app allows you to record a podcast with video conferencing, and then it allows you to be able to extract 30-second recordings of the podcast and then post them in clips on the app. It's a little bit like Tik Tok for podcasts.

There are one or two other apps for that idea, but they're just doing audio. We're doing the full thing with actual video, which makes it significantly more sharable on social media platforms. The JAFTON team provided the frontend design as well as the development work, and they’re using React on Android and Golang for the backend.

There were about fifteen developers in total because we had two developers for iOS and four for Android. We had two for the frontend of the website, three on the backend, and several in support and QA roles as well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

That’s a little bit hard to quantify because we were doing virtual events but then lost them in July. We got to about 5000 monthly users, so it was going well, but then we decided to pivot. Now we're relaunching, and plan to kick off our new podcast app next month. So, it's hard to say what our success numbers are, because of those changes during the process, which wasn’t at all their fault.

That said, I have been very satisfied with all of the work they've delivered. The platform that they built is really impressive. I honestly have no complaints, and I would certainly work with them again if I wanted to start on another product.

How did JAFTON perform from a project management standpoint?

I've been the project manager, but that's because I asked for that from the very beginning. I talk to their main developer every day so that we are always on the same page, and things have progressed seamlessly throughout our work together as a result.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is just fundamentally made up of very good developers. Obviously, we’ve run into occasional bugs here and there that have been fixed, but overall, everything they do just works. The technology is absolutely excellent.

We haven't had any comments from developers or other people who’ve seen the work questioning why anything is built the way it is, because they’ve used such intuitive and cutting-edge technologies that everything just makes sense. Things work really well, and we’ve gotten a lot of feedback from users to that effect.

There haven’t been any issues that caused us serious problems at all throughout the work.

I talk to one of their Project Managers a lot, and we throw around ideas. The great thing is, I never get charged, we just talk about the ideas. I think it’s really important to just let them do their thing because they know what they're doing. They have some pretty good designers and some really, fantastic developers, so the best thing you can do is give them the requirements and then give them the reins.

JAFTON developed a platform that allows users to create a profile and identify as a traveler or sender. They built the app for iOS, and they will develop for Android shortly. The platform matches travelers and senders who are available within the same timeframes and locations. The two parties can open a chat and negotiate the price. Finally, the system processes the payment, but the payment isn’t released until the deal is complete.

It’s very common for medical professionals to experience billable burnout or for patients to miss appointments. These scheduling problems can create a lot of frustration for both doctors and patients. I needed an experienced IT agency to create what I envisioned.

I honestly don’t think I could expect more from them. Whenever I have a new idea or want to change things, I give them instructions and they are able to develop it. Sometimes it’s just to have something moved by half an inch, other times it’s to create something completely new. Yet, they always make it come to fruition.

They're excellent project managers. Their team is attentive and has great communication skills. We’ve had a standing phone call at the same time every week for the last two years, and no one has ever missed a call. JAFTON uses a unique tool that is very comprehensive and helps them prioritize tasks. I can also contact them through Slack, email, and phone.

In addition to being budget-friendly, they’re super accessible. I know that I can reach them no matter what time it is, which is reassuring. They work very hard, and everyone on the team gives 100%.

Of course, people have bad days and occasionally there are problems, but they’re patient and extremely professional.

What challenge were you trying to address with JAFTON?

I entered into a contract with Bobir (CEO, JAFTON)—who allegedly performed work for the contract made with another development company also owned and operated by Bobir—to create a telemedicine platform. The vision of the platform was to provide an easy-to-use website and mobile app that will help people find doctors and get video consultations with them.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bobir demonstrated a contractual guarantee that the platform would be tested and functional by November 2018. Therefore, I began investing substantial capital in building marketing, sales, and operational teams to promote and support the platform.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

Our sales team was successful in securing deposits from medical practices for the telemedicine platform. Additionally, the operational team was being trained in telemedicine and its laws and regulations. As presales were completed, commissions were paid to incentivize the sales team to continue securing contracts from medical practices. This is a common practice in startups and pre‐sale ventures. 

The time, capital, and cash were invested per the IT team’s guarantee on delivering a functional platform by November 2018. So far, the users of the platform continuously conveyed disappointment in its functionality and reliability as late as July 2019.

How did JAFTON address the challenges that arose?

Tulkin (Project Manager, JAFTON) gave false progress reports on a continued basis, while Bobir sent fraudulent and false statements to me to induce installment payments, without actually doing any of the contracted work. Ahmedov (Senior Developer, JAFTON) was part of all progress reports, and all dysfunctionality of the platform was reported to him.

On July 24th, 2019, during a scheduled conference call with JAFTON, I confronted Bobir, Tulkin, and Ahmedov about a faulty platform and continuous delays once again. I asked them to turn over the codes, which I have full ownership over. Bobir refused to do so unless I paid them additional funds.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

As the platform completion and functionality continued to be delayed, my company and I began to incur substantial debt and associated interest payments. Since the platform is not functional, our marketing, sales, and operational teams were dissolved in June 2019. 

Additionally, the medical practices that signed up with us are now requesting for their payments to be returned due to the faulty platform. I found other developers through Clutch to bring the platform to functionality, but the current JAFTON team refused to turn over the codes unless I paid them additional $40,000. 

Bobir is also constantly trying to convince me to disseminate false advertisement by promoting an unreliable service as a high-quality, fully-functional product, which is a criminal act under US law.

Please note, this is a telemedicine platform used between medical providers and patients with limited access to healthcare providers. Therefore, our users are in urgent need of telemedicine services. We’ve had active users who were forced to cancel medical appointments because of software malfunction. Without access codes, I’m unable to transition and maintain the software to fix the bugs in real-time. So, I have no way to effectively prevent appointment cancellations, which can affect the well-being of our users.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
 
I do not recommend JAFTON, or any organization where Bobir, Tulkin, or Ahmedov are involved in operations of any level.

Thank you Sitora for the initial 5 Star review and sorry that you had to change it to 1 star. There's clearly a very big difference between the 2 reviews which was obviously caused by the conflict we had as a result of you not being able to market the product as you wanted and blaming us for that. We have delivered the product on time despite the fact that you still owed us a $40,000 balance which you haven't covered to this day. You took us to the court and you lost the case which is the best evidence to prove that we did our job on time and with good quality. The fact that the judge ruled that we keep all the code as a compensation for the owed balance and that you reattempted to launch the platform with another company and failed again is another proof of this review being an emotional act of trying to discredit us and that the real cause of your failure is your inability to market the product properly and not the technology's fault.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I have degrees in nutrition and exercise science, and I own several health clubs. I wanted to build an automated macronutrient meal plan. There were no cookie-cutter options for meal planning, so there was a lot of information that would tailor each plan. It was elaborate and became a project within the larger collaboration. We spent hours on the phone each week, and his developers and managers listened, asked questions, and created solutions.

They built the whole website. They involved Shopify and other e-commerce elements, the meal plan, and links to my tv shows and newsletters. I had an existing site, but they really built everything from scratch and brought my vision to life.

I always respect people who come to me with constructive criticism. Overcommunication is impossible, and I welcome honesty about estimates. They undersold and over-delivered, and I don't have any areas of improvement for them.

If you have a vision, make sure you give them content to back it up. They aren't experts in your field, so it's important that your content is strong. Work with them and hold up your side of the project. Also, have a team member on your side who is tech-savvy. If you don't follow through with them and you don't have someone who can keep your site up to date without them, your site will quickly lose value.
