BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the manager responsible for the production of custom-made furniture at Bruno spolka z o.o. We create furniture, kitchens, wardrobes, etc. for our clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire ITBees, and what were your goals?

At ITBees, we ordered an application to support us in the process of accepting furniture forms, scanning and preparing for the drilling process with the use of the Vitapoint CNC machine. The application was to facilitate this process and provide us with immediate information about whether the received order of forms is complete, and to create lists of forms exported to the CNC machine in the order of scanning.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose ITBees because we know the people running this company personally and we have confidence in them, so we were sure that the task would be done correctly and on time, we were not disappointed.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We wrote down a list of application requirements, and then a business analyst from the ITBees team created a specification out of it. On its basis, tasks were created in the JIRA application. We were invited to a planning meeting, where together with the ITBees team we set priorities and sprints were created. The development process started, after each sprint a demo of the working application was presented. To create the application, the team suggested using the Microsoft C # and WPF techonlog - due to the requirements of a CNC machine (working under the control of Windows).

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Project manager, he was responsible for the entire process and contact with us. Two developers contacted us to discuss technical details during development. One developer came to us for the workshop to integrate the software with the machine.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After implementing the application, we achieved the effect of reducing the time needed to prepare elements for drilling by 95% (no need to open projects and check each element on the list). We also simplified the process of preparing for drilling - the application manages the arrangement of forms for drilling, thanks to which we have eliminated 80% of errors during cnc drilling resulting from human errors.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The meetings were conducted online, using google meet. The team adapted to communicating with us using the "Telegram" messenger. The project manager was really interested in our project and he actively returned to us with every problem without undue delay. The project went into the maintenance phase after the assumed time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Extremely committed, flexible and patient people. When it was necessary to come to the workshop outside the working hours of the carpentry shop, they did not fuss, but appeared at the set times. The entire development process was transparent and documented well for us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There was little space in the office during physical meetings, maybe they could think about a larger office?
