We needed an iOS application that would display collected data on iPhones.

What were your goals for this project?

The needed to be compatible with our radio module and smart security device.

The team built a GPS-based app to track vehicle locations when an authorized person starts driving it. IT-nity coded in Objective-C and C++.

IT-nity delivered a high-quality product on time. The iOS app helped generate new customers and increase revenue.

I’m the CEO of a mobile application development company. Our services include native and hybrid mobile app development for Android and iOS platforms.

For what projects/services did your company hire IT-nity?

We were looking for a company that provides native mobile development services. We needed help developing a great-looking and robust application for Android and iOS platforms.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop an online music streaming application for Android and iOS. The specification and design materials were provided by us by another firm, so we only used IT-nity for development services.

We used Upwork to find the right company to partner with. We decided to work with IT-nity because they’re a top-rated agency with an excellent feedback history.

Describe the project in detail.

The ROD is an online music streaming app with social features. The app allows users to listen to their favorite radio stations and podcasts. It includes a recording feature that allows users to save favorite moments to share with friends via social networks. We decided on native implementation rather than hybrid. The backend development was done using Java and Objective-C languages. After several discussions with the IT-nity team, we decided to use Firebase as a backend service. Their developers covered Firebase database configuration and connection.

What was the team composition?

We were initially looking for two developers for both platforms, and we expected to handle project management from our side. IT-nity ended up providing us with Android and iOS developers as well as a project manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

IT-nity ran internal testing after they finished the development. They delivered a robust app, so our goal was achieved without delays or additional expenses.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They used an agile development plan, working in two week sprints. Their project manager held meetings every Monday and kicked-off new version builds on Friday. The manager did a great job running the development flow and providing excellent communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The team demonstrated a high level of responsiveness and a willingness to help. IT-nity was as interested in our project as we were, which made it a pleasure to work with them. Their skilled developers delivered an excellent product.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I have nothing negative to say about how they ran this project. The only thing they could improve is to have offices outside of Ukraine.

I’m the lead developer at an educational website for ophthalmologists in the U.S. and U.K. We have a platform that we use for different areas of study.

What challenge were you trying to address with IT-nity?

We had zero experience with mobile app development and needed someone to help us design and build our iOS app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They designed and developed our iOS app, which replicates the existing functions on our website. Students use it to prepare for their exams. It allows them to access existing data, create and take tests, and review their results, which they can compare and discuss with others.

What is the team composition?

We work with their CEO, who handles all the architecture, development, deployment to the App Store, maintenance, and bug fixes.

How did you come to work with IT-nity?

We were looking for contractors on Upwork and chose the developer with the best feedback and most reasonable rates.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $25,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2017 and the collaboration is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app is live and working fine. Up to 20% of our web user base has switched to the app because it’s more convenient. We have less than 10 reviews on the App Store. Several complained that the first version was too simple and needed more features, however, the score is improving. We have very few bugs and crashes; IT-nity usually catches issues beforehand.

How did IT-nity perform from a project management standpoint?

We work directly with their CEO. We communicate via Slack and use a bug tracker.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m happy with the cost/quality ratio.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are some recurring bugs from time to time, which can be easily caught by incorporating an automated testing framework.
